| (0157) Narrated Khuzaymah ibn Thabit: The Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) said: The time limit for wiping over the socks for a traveller is three days (and three nights) and for a resident it is one day and one night.

| (0158) Narrated Ubayy ibn Umarah: I asked: Messenger of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) may I wipe over the socks? He replied: Yes. He asked: For one day? He replied: For one day. He again asked: And for two days? He replied: For two days too. He again asked: And for three days? He replied: Yes, as long as you wish.

Abbad (a sub-narrator) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) came to the well of a people.
