| 1. | الر ۚ كِتَابٌ أَنزَلْنَاهُ إِلَيْكَ لِتُخْرِجَ النَّاسَ مِنَ الظُّلُمَاتِ إِلَى النُّورِ بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِمْ إِلَىٰ صِرَاطِ الْعَزِيزِ الْحَمِيدِ |
| Transliteration: | Aliflamra kitabun anzalnahu ilayka litukhrija alnnasa mina alththulumati ila alnnoori biithni rabbihim ila sirati alAAazeezi alhameedi |
| Yusuf Ali: | A. L. R. A Book which We have revealed unto thee, in order that thou mightest lead mankind out of the depths of darkness into light - by the leave of their Lord - to the Way of (Him) the Exalted in power, worthy of all praise!- |
| Shakir: | Alif Lam Ra. (This is) a Book which We have revealed to you that you may bring forth men, by their Lord's permission from utter darkness into light-- to the way of the Mighty, the Praised One, |
| Pickthall: | Alif. Lam. Ra. (This is) a Scripture which We have revealed unto thee (Muhammad) that thereby thou mayst bring forth mankind from darkness unto light, by the permission of their Lord, unto the path of the Mighty, the Owner of Praise, |
| Mohsin Khan: | Alif-Lam-Ra. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Qur'an, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings]. (This is) a Book which We have revealed unto you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم) in order that you might lead mankind out of darkness (of disbelief and polytheism) into light (of belief in the Oneness of Allah and Islamic Monotheism) by their Lord's Leave to the Path of the All-Mighty, the Owner of all Praise. |

| Indonesian: | Alif laam raa. (Ini adalah) Kitab yang Kami turunkan kepadamu supaya kamu mengeluarkan manusia dari gelap gulita kepada cahaya terang benderang dengan izin Tuhan mereka, (yaitu) menuju jalan Tuhan Yang Maha Perkasa lagi Maha Terpuji.

| 2. | اللَّهِ الَّذِي لَهُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ ۗ وَوَيْلٌ لِّلْكَافِرِينَ مِنْ عَذَابٍ شَدِيدٍ |
| Transliteration: | Allahi allathee lahu ma fee alssamawati wama fee alardi wawaylun lilkafireena min AAathabin shadeedin |
| Yusuf Ali: | Of Allah, to Whom do belong all things in the heavens and on earth! But alas for the Unbelievers for a terrible penalty (their Unfaith will bring them)!- |
| Shakir: | (Of) Allah, Whose is whatever is in the heavens and whatever Is in the earth; and woe to the unbelievers on account of the severe chastisement, |
| Pickthall: | Allah, unto Whom belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth. and woe unto the disbelievers from an awful doom; |
| Mohsin Khan: | Allah to Whom belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth! And woe unto the disbelievers from a severe torment. |

| Indonesian: | Allah yang memiliki segala apa yang di langit dan di bumi. Dan celakalah bagi orang-orang kafir karena siksaan yang sangat pedih.

| 3. | الَّذِينَ يَسْتَحِبُّونَ الْحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا عَلَى الْآخِرَةِ وَيَصُدُّونَ عَن سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَيَبْغُونَهَا عِوَجًا ۚ أُولَـٰئِكَ فِي ضَلَالٍ بَعِيدٍ |
| Transliteration: | Allatheena yastahibboona alhayata alddunya AAala alakhirati wayasuddoona AAan sabeeli Allahi wayabghoonaha AAiwajan olaika fee dalalin baAAeedin |
| Yusuf Ali: | Those who love the life of this world more than the Hereafter, who hinder (men) from the Path of Allah and seek therein something crooked: they are astray by a long distance. |
| Shakir: | (To) those who love this world's life more than the hereafter, and turn away from Allah's path and desire to make it crooked; these are in a great error. |
| Pickthall: | Those who love the life of the world more than the Hereafter, and debar (men) from the way of Allah and would have it crooked: such are far astray. |
| Mohsin Khan: | Those who prefer the life of this world to the Hereafter, and hinder (men) from the Path of Allah (i.e. Islam) and seek crookedness therein - they are far astray. |
| French: | Ceux qui préfèrent la vie d'ici-bas à l'au-delà, obstruent [aux gens] le chemin d'Allah et cherchent à le rendre tortueux, ceux-là sont loin dans l'égarement. |
| Spanish: | Quienes prefieren la vida de acá a la otra y desvían a otros del camino de Alá, deseando que sea tortuoso, están profundamente extraviados. |
| Indonesian: | (yaitu) orang-orang yang lebih menyukai kehidupan dunia daripada kehidupan akhirat, dan menghalang-halangi (manusia) dari jalan Allah dan menginginkan agar jalan Allah itu bengkok. Mereka itu berada dalam kesesatan yang jauh.

| Malay:: | Orang-orang yang mengutamakan dunia lebih daripada akhirat dan menghalangi manusia dari jalan agama Allah, serta menghendaki jalan itu menjadi bengkok terpesong, mereka itulah orang-orang yang terjerumus ke dalam kesesatan yang jauh terpesongnya.

| Urdu: | جو دنیا کی زندگی کو آخرت کے مقابلہ میں پسند کرتے ہیں اور الله کی راہ سے روکتے ہیں اور اس میں کجی تلاش کرتے ہیں وہ دور کی گمراہی میں پڑے ہوئے ہیں |

| 4. | وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا مِن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا بِلِسَانِ قَوْمِهِ لِيُبَيِّنَ لَهُمْ ۖ فَيُضِلُّ اللَّهُ مَن يَشَاءُ وَيَهْدِي مَن يَشَاءُ ۚ وَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ |
| Transliteration: | Wama arsalna min rasoolin illa bilisani qawmihi liyubayyina lahum fayudillu Allahu man yashao wayahdee man yashao wahuwa alAAazeezu alhakeemu |
| Yusuf Ali: | We sent not a messenger except (to teach) in the language of his (own) people, in order to make (things) clear to them. Now Allah leaves straying those whom He pleases and guides whom He pleases: and He is Exalted in power, full of Wisdom. |
| Shakir: | And We did not send any apostle but with the language of his people, so that he might explain to them clearly; then Allah makes whom He pleases err and He guides whom He pleases and He is the Mighty, the Wise. |
| Pickthall: | And We never sent a messenger save with the language of his folk, that he might make (the message) clear for them. Then Allah sendeth whom He will astray, and guideth whom He will. He is the Mighty, the Wise. |
| Mohsin Khan: | And We sent not a Messenger except with the language of his people, in order that he might make (the Message) clear for them. Then Allah misleads whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise. |
| French: | Et Nous n'avons envoyé de Messager qu'avec la langue de son peuple, afin de les éclairer. Allah égare qui Il veut et guide qui Il veut. Et, c'est Lui le Tout Puissant, le Sage. |
| Spanish: | No mandamos a ningún enviado que no hablara en la lengua de su pueblo, para que les explicara con claridad. Alá extravía a quien Él quiere y dirige a quien Él quiere. él es el Poderoso, el Sabio. |
| Indonesian: | Kami tidak mengutus seorang rasulpun, melainkan dengan bahasa kaumnya supaya ia dapat memberi penjelasan dengan terang kepada mereka. Maka Allah menyesatkan siapa yang Dia kehendaki, dan memberi petunjuk kepada siapa yang Dia kehendaki. Dan Dia-lah Tuhan Yang Maha Kuasa lagi Maha Bijaksana.

| Malay:: | Dan Kami tidak mengutuskan seseorang Rasul melainkan dengan bahasa kaumnya supaya dia menjelaskan (hukum-hukum Allah) kepada mereka. Maka Allah menyesatkan sesiapa yang dikehendakiNya (menurut undang-undang peraturanNya), juga memberi hidayat petunjuk kepada sesiapa yang dikehendakiNya (menurut undang-undang peraturanNya); dan Dialah jua Yang Maha Kuasa, lagi Maha Bijaksana.

| German: | Und Wir haben keinen Gesandten gesandt, außer in der Sprache seines Volkes, damit er ihnen (die Botschaft) klar macht. Allah läßt dann in die Irre gehen, wen Er will, und leitet recht, wen Er will. Und Er ist der Allmächtige und Allweise. |
| Russian: | Мы отправляли посланников, которые говорили на языке своего народа, чтобы они давали им разъяснения. Аллах вводит в заблуждение, кого пожелает, и ведет прямым путем, кого пожелает. Он - Могущественный, Мудрый. |
| Bosnian: | Mi nismo poslali nijednog poslanika koji nije govorio jezikom naroda svoga, da bi mu objasnio. A Allah ostavlja u zabludi onoga koga hoće i ukazuje na Pravi put onome kome hoće; On je Silni i Mudri. |
| Urdu: | اور ہم نے ہر پیغمبر کو اس کی قوم کی زبان میں پیغمبر بنا کر بھیجا ہے تاکہ انہیں سمجھا سکے پھر الله جسے چاہتا ہے گمراہ کرتا ہے اور جسے چاہتا ہے ہدایت دیتا ہے اوروہ غالب حکمت والا ہے |

| 5. | وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا مُوسَىٰ بِآيَاتِنَا أَنْ أَخْرِجْ قَوْمَكَ مِنَ الظُّلُمَاتِ إِلَى النُّورِ وَذَكِّرْهُم بِأَيَّامِ اللَّهِ ۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِّكُلِّ صَبَّارٍ شَكُورٍ |
| Transliteration: | Walaqad arsalna moosa biayatina an akhrij qawmaka mina alththulumati ila alnnoori wathakkirhum biayyami Allahi inna fee thalika laayatin likulli sabbarin shakoorin |
| Yusuf Ali: | We sent Moses with Our signs (and the command). "Bring out thy people from the depths of darkness into light, and teach them to remember the Days of Allah." Verily in this there are Signs for such as are firmly patient and constant,- grateful and appreciative. |
| Shakir: | And certainly We sent Musa with Our communications, saying: Bring forth your people from utter darkness into light and remind them of the days of Allah; most surely there are signs in this for every patient, grateful one. |
| Pickthall: | We verily sent Moses with Our revelations, saying: Bring thy people forth from darkness unto light. And remind them of the days of Allah. Lo! therein are revelations for each steadfast, thankful (heart). |
| Mohsin Khan: | And indeed We sent Musa (Moses) with Our Ayat (signs, proofs, and evidence) (saying): "Bring out your people from darkness into light, and remind them of the Annals of Allah. Truly, therein are Ayat (evidence, proofs and signs) for every patient, thankful (person)." |
| French: | Nous avons certes, envoyé Moïse avec Nos miracles [en lui disant]: «Fais sortir ton peuple des ténèbres vers la lumière, et rappelle-leur les jours d'Allah». [Ses bienfaits]. Dans tout cela il y a des signes pour tout homme plein d'endurance et de reconnaissance. |
| Spanish: | Ya hemos enviado a Moisés con Nuestros signos: «¡Saca a tu pueblo de las tinieblas a la luz y recuérdales los Días de Alá!» Ciertamente, hay en ello signos para todo aquél que tenga mucha paciencia, mucha gratitud. |
| Indonesian: | Dan sesungguhnya Kami telah mengutus Musa dengan membawa ayat-ayat Kami, (dan Kami perintahkan kepadanya): "Keluarkanlah kaummu dari gelap gulita kepada cahaya terang benderang dan ingatkanlah mereka kepada hari- hari Allah". Sesungguhnya pada yang demikian itu terdapat tanda-tanda (kekuasaan Allah) bagi setiap orang penyabar dan banyak bersyukur.

| Malay:: | Dan sesungguhnya Kami telah mengutuskan Nabi Musa (pada masa yang lalu) dengan membawa mukjizat-mukjizat Kami sambil Kami berfirman: Hendaklah engkau mengeluarkan kaummu dari gelap-gelita kufur kepada cahaya iman dan ingatkanlah mereka dengan Hari-hari Allah. Sesungguhnya yang demikian itu, mengandungi tanda-tanda yang menunjukkan kekuasaan Allah bagi tiap-tiap seorang yang kuat bersabar, lagi kuat bersyukur.

| German: | Und Wir sandten ja bereits Musa mit Unseren Zeichen: "Bringe dein Volk aus den Finsternissen hinaus ins Licht, und erinnere sie an die Tage Allahs." Darin sind wahrlich Zeichen für jeden sehr Standhaften und sehr Dankbaren. |
| Russian: | Мы отправили Мусу (Моисея) с Нашими знамениями и повелели: «Выведи свой народ из мраков к свету и напомни им дни Аллаха». Воистину, в этом - знамения для каждого терпеливого и благодарного. |
| Bosnian: | I Musaa smo poslali s dokazima Našim: "Izvedi narod svoj iz tmina na svjetlo i opomeni ga Allahovim danima!" To su, uistinu, dokazi za svakog onog ko je strpljiv i zahvalan. |
| Urdu: | اورالبتہ تحقیق ہم نے موسیٰ کو اپنی نشانیاں دےکر بھیجا تھا کہاپنی قوم کو اندھیروں سے روشنی کی طرف نکال اورانہیں الله کے دن یاد دلا بے شک اس میں ہر ایک صبر شکر کرنے والے کے لیے بڑی نشانیاں ہیں |

| 6. | وَإِذْ قَالَ مُوسَىٰ لِقَوْمِهِ اذْكُرُوا نِعْمَةَ اللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ إِذْ أَنجَاكُم مِّنْ آلِ فِرْعَوْنَ يَسُومُونَكُمْ سُوءَ الْعَذَابِ وَيُذَبِّحُونَ أَبْنَاءَكُمْ وَيَسْتَحْيُونَ نِسَاءَكُمْ ۚ وَفِي ذَٰلِكُم بَلَاءٌ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ عَظِيمٌ |
| Transliteration: | Waith qala moosa liqawmihi othkuroo niAAmata Allahi AAalaykum ith anjakum min ali firAAawna yasoomoonakum sooa alAAathabi wayuthabbihoona abnaakum wayastahyoona nisaakum wafee thalikum balaon min rabbikum AAatheemun |
| Yusuf Ali: | Remember! Moses said to his people: "Call to mind the favour of Allah to you when He delivered you from the people of Pharaoh: they set you hard tasks and punishments, slaughtered your sons, and let your women-folk live: therein was a tremendous trial from your Lord." |
| Shakir: | And when Musa said to his people: Call to mind Allah's favor to you when He delivered you from Firon's people, who subjected you to severe torment, and slew your sons and spared your women; and in this there was a great trial from your Lord. |
| Pickthall: | And (remind them) how Moses said unto his people: Remember Allah's favour unto you when He delivered you from Pharaoh's folk who were afflicting you with dreadful torment, and were slaying your sons and sparing your women; that was a tremendous trial from your Lord. |
| Mohsin Khan: | And (remember) when Musa (Moses) said to his people: "Call to mind Allah's Favour to you, when He delivered you from Fir'aun's (Pharaoh) people who were afflicting you with horrible torment, and were slaughtering your sons and letting your women alive; and in it was a tremendous trial from your Lord." |
| French: | (Rappelle-toi) quand Moïse dit à son peuple: «Rappelez-vous le bienfait d'Allah sur vous quand Il vous sauva des gens de Pharaon qui vous infligeaient le pire châtiment. Ils massacraient vos fils et laissaient en vie vos filles. Il y avait là une dure épreuve de la part de votre Seigneur», |
| Spanish: | Y cuando Moisés dijo a su pueblo: «Recordad la gracia que Alá os dispensó cuando os salvó de las gentes de Faraón, que os sometían a duro castigo, degollando a vuestros hijos varones y dejando con vida a vuestras mujeres. Con esto os probó vuestro Señor duramente». |
| Indonesian: | Dan (ingatlah), ketika Musa berkata kepada kaumnya: "Ingatlah ni'mat Allah atasmu ketika Dia menyelamatkan kamu dari (Fir'aun dan) pengikut-pengikutnya, mereka menyiksa kamu dengan siksa yang pedih, mereka menyembelih anak-anak laki-lakimu, membiarkan hidup anak-anak perempuanmu; dan pada yang demikian itu ada cobaan yang besar dari Tuhanmu".

| Malay:: | Dan (ingatlah) ketika Nabi Musa berkata kepada kaumnya: Kenanglah nikmat Allah kepada kamu, semasa Dia menyelamatkan kamu dari Firaun dan orang-orangnya yang sentiasa menyeksa kamu dengan berbagai seksa yang buruk dan mereka pula menyembelih anak-anak lelaki kamu dan membiarkan hidup anak-anak perempuan kamu dan kejadian yang demikian itu mengandungi bala bencana dan cubaan yang besar dari Tuhan kamu.

| German: | Und als Musa zu seinem Volk sagte: "Gedenkt der Gunst Allahs an euch, als Er euch vor den Leuten Fir'auns rettete, die euch eine böse Qual auferlegten, eure Söhne abschlachteten und (nur) eure Frauen am Leben ließen. Seht, darin war für euch eine gewaltige Prüfung von eurem Herrn. |
| Russian: | Вот Муса (Моисей) сказал своему народу: «Помните милость, которую Аллах оказал вам, когда спас вас от народа Фараона. Они подвергали вас ужасным мучениям, резали ваших сыновей и оставляли в живых ваших женщин. Это было для вас великим испытанием (или великой милостью) от вашего Господа». |
| Bosnian: | I kad Musa reče narodu svome: "Sjetite se Allahove blagodati kad vas je izbavio od faraonovih ljudi koji su vas najgorim mukama mučili, koji su vam mušku djecu klali, a žensku u životu ostavljali – to vam je bilo veliko iskušenje od Gospodara vašega – |
| Urdu: | اورجب موسیٰ نے اپنی قوم سے کہا الله کا احسان اپنے اوپر یاد کرو جب تمہیں فرعون کی قوم سے چھڑا یا وہ تمہیں برا عذاب چکھاتے تھے اور تمہارے بیٹوں کو ذبح کرتے تھے اور تمہاری عورتوں کو زندہ رکھتے تھے اور اسمیں تمہارے رب کی طرف سے بڑی آزمائش تھی |

| 7. | وَإِذْ تَأَذَّنَ رَبُّكُمْ لَئِن شَكَرْتُمْ لَأَزِيدَنَّكُمْ ۖ وَلَئِن كَفَرْتُمْ إِنَّ عَذَابِي لَشَدِيدٌ |
| Transliteration: | Waith taaththana rabbukum lain shakartum laazeedannakum walain kafartum inna AAathabee lashadeedun |
| Yusuf Ali: | And remember! your Lord caused to be declared (publicly): "If ye are grateful, I will add more (favours) unto you; But if ye show ingratitude, truly My punishment is terrible indeed." |
| Shakir: | And when your Lord made it known: If you are grateful, I would certainly give to you more, and if you are ungrateful, My chastisement is truly severe. |
| Pickthall: | And when your Lord proclaimed: If ye give thanks, I will give you more; but if ye are thankless, lo! My punishment is dire. |
| Mohsin Khan: | And (remember) when your Lord proclaimed: "If you give thanks (by accepting Faith and worshipping none but Allah), I will give you more (of My Blessings); but if you are thankless (i.e. disbelievers), verily My punishment is indeed severe." |
| French: | Et lorsque votre Seigneur proclama: «Si vous êtes reconnaissants, très certainement J'augmenterai [Mes bienfaits] pour vous. Mais si vous êtes ingrats, Mon châtiment sera terrible». |
| Spanish: | Y cuando vuestro Señor anunció: «Si sois agradecidos, os daré más. Pero, si sois desagradecidos,... Ciertamente, Mi castigo es severo». |
| Indonesian: | Dan (ingatlah juga), tatkala Tuhanmu mema'lumkan: "Sesungguhnya jika kamu bersyukur, pasti Kami akan menambah (ni'mat) kepadamu, dan jika kamu mengingkari (ni'mat-Ku), maka sesungguhnya azab-Ku sangat pedih".

| Malay:: | Dan (ingatlah) ketika Tuhan kamu memberitahu: Demi sesungguhnya! Jika kamu bersyukur nescaya Aku akan tambahi nikmatKu kepada kamu dan demi sesungguhnya, jika kamu kufur ingkar sesungguhnya azabKu amatlah keras.

| German: | Und als euer Herr ankündigte: ,Wenn ihr dankbar seid, werde Ich euch ganz gewiß noch mehr (Gunst) erweisen. Wenn ihr jedoch undankbar seid, dann ist meine Strafe fürwahr streng'." |
| Russian: | Вот ваш Господь возвестил: «Если вы будете благодарны, то Я одарю вас еще большим. А если вы будете неблагодарны, то ведь мучения от Меня тяжки». |

| 8. | وَقَالَ مُوسَىٰ إِن تَكْفُرُوا أَنتُمْ وَمَن فِي الْأَرْضِ جَمِيعًا فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَغَنِيٌّ حَمِيدٌ |
| Transliteration: | Waqala moosa in takfuroo antum waman fee alardi jameeAAan fainna Allaha laghaniyyun hameedun |
| Yusuf Ali: | And Moses said: "If ye show ingratitude, ye and all on earth together, yet is Allah free of all wants, worthy of all praise. |
| Shakir: | And Musa said: If you are ungrateful, you and those on earth all together, most surely Allah is Self-sufficient, Praised; |
| Pickthall: | And Moses said: Though ye and all who are in the earth prove thankless, lo! Allah verily is Absolute, Owner of Praise. |

| 9. | أَلَمْ يَأْتِكُمْ نَبَأُ الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ قَوْمِ نُوحٍ وَعَادٍ وَثَمُودَ ۛ وَالَّذِينَ مِن بَعْدِهِمْ ۛ لَا يَعْلَمُهُمْ إِلَّا اللَّهُ ۚ جَاءَتْهُمْ رُسُلُهُم بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ فَرَدُّوا أَيْدِيَهُمْ فِي أَفْوَاهِهِمْ وَقَالُوا إِنَّا كَفَرْنَا بِمَا أُرْسِلْتُم بِهِ وَإِنَّا لَفِي شَكٍّ مِّمَّا تَدْعُونَنَا إِلَيْهِ مُرِيبٍ |
| Transliteration: | Alam yatikum nabao allatheena min qablikum qawmi noohin waAAadin wathamooda waallatheena min baAAdihim la yaAAlamuhum illa Allahu jaathum rusuluhum bialbayyinati faraddoo aydiyahum fee afwahihim waqaloo inna kafarna bima orsiltum bihi wainna lafee shakkin mimma tadAAoonana ilayhi mureebun |
| Yusuf Ali: | Has not the story reached you, (O people!), of those who (went) before you? - of the people of Noah, and 'Ad, and Thamud? - And of those who (came) after them? None knows them but Allah. To them came messengers with Clear (Signs); but they put their hands up to their mouths, and said: "We do deny (the mission) on which ye have been sent, and we are really in suspicious (disquieting) doubt as to that to which ye invite us." |
| Shakir: | Has not the account reached you of those before you, of the people of Nuh and Ad and Samood, and those after them? None knows them but Allah. Their apostles come to them with clear arguments, but they thrust their hands into their mouths and said: Surely we deny that with which you are sent, and most surely we are in serious doubt as to that to which you invite us. |
| Pickthall: | Hath not the history of those before you reached you: the folk of Noah, and (the tribes of) A'ad and Thamud, and those after them? None save Allah knoweth them. | Spanish: | ¿No os habéis enterado de lo que pasó a quienes os precedieron: el pueblo de Noé, los aditas, los tamudeos, y los que les sucedieron, que sólo Alá conoce? Vinieron a ellos sus enviados con las pruebas claras, pero llevaron las manos a sus bocas y dijeron: «No creemos en vuestro mensaje y dudamos seriamente de aquello a que nos invitáis». |
| Indonesian: | Belumkah sampai kepadamu berita orang-orang sebelum kamu (yaitu) kaum Nuh, `Ad, Tsamud dan orang-orang sesudah mereka. Tidak ada yang mengetahui mereka selain Allah. Telah datang rasul-rasul kepada mereka (membawa) bukti-bukti yang nyata lalu mereka menutupkan tangannya ke mulutnya (karena kebencian) dan berkata: "Sesungguhnya kami mengingkari apa yang kamu disuruh menyampaikannya (kepada kami), dan sesungguhnya kami benar-benar dalam keragu-raguan yang menggelisahkan terhadap apa yang kamu ajak kami kepadanya".

| Malay:: | (Mengapa kamu masih berdegil) bukankah telah datang kepada kamu khabar berita orang-orang yang terdahulu daripada kamu, iaitu kaum Nabi Nuh dan Aad juga Thamud serta orang-orang yang kemudian daripada mereka ? К ним приходили посланники с ясными знамениями, но они клали пальцы в рот и говорили: «Мы не веруем в то, с чем вы посланы, и нас терзают смутные сомнения относительно того, к чему вы призываете». |
| Bosnian: | Zar do vas nije doprla vijest o onima prije vas, o narodu Nuhovu, i o Adu, i o Semudu, i o onima poslije njih? – Samo ih Allah zna! – Poslanici njihovi su im dokaze donosili, ali oni su ruke svoje na usta stavljali i govorili: "Mi ne vjerujemo u ono što se po vama šalje i mi veoma sumnjamo u ono u što nas pozivate!" |
| Urdu: | کیا تمہیں ان لوگوں کی خبر نہیں پہنچی جوتم سے پہلے تھے نوح کی قوم اور عاد اور ثمود اورجو ان کے بعد ہوئے الله کےسوا جنہیں کوئی نہیں جانتا ان کے پاس ان کے رسول نشانیاں لے کر آئے پھرانہوں نے اپنے ہاتھ اپنے مونہوں میں لوٹائے اور کہا ہم نہیں مانتے جو تمہیں دے کر بھیجا گیا ہے اور جس دین کی طرف تم ہمیں بلاتے ہو ہمیں تو اس میں بڑا شک ہے |

| 10. | ۞ قَالَتْ رُسُلُهُمْ أَفِي اللَّهِ شَكٌّ فَاطِرِ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۖ يَدْعُوكُمْ لِيَغْفِرَ لَكُم مِّن ذُنُوبِكُمْ وَيُؤَخِّرَكُمْ إِلَىٰ أَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى ۚ قَالُوا إِنْ أَنتُمْ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُنَا تُرِيدُونَ أَن تَصُدُّونَا عَمَّا كَانَ يَعْبُدُ آبَاؤُنَا فَأْتُونَا بِسُلْطَانٍ مُّبِينٍ |
| Transliteration: | Qalat rusuluhum afee Allahi shakkun fatiri alssamawati waalardi yadAAookum liyaghfira lakum min thunoobikum wayuakhkhirakum ila ajalin musamman qaloo in antum illa basharun mithluna tureedoona an tasuddoona AAamma kana yaAAbudu abaona fatoona bisultanin mubeenin |
| Yusuf Ali: | Their messengers said: "Is there a doubt about Allah, The Creator of the heavens and the earth? It is He Who invites you, in order that He may forgive you your sins and give you respite for a term appointed!" They said: "Ah! ye are no more than human, like ourselves! Ye wish to turn us away from the (gods) our fathers used to worship: then bring us some clear authority." |
| Shakir: | Their apostles said: Is there doubt about Allah, the Maker of the heavens and the earth? He invites you to forgive you your faults and to respite you till an appointed term. They said: You are nothing but mortals like us; you wish to turn us away from what our fathers used to worship; bring us therefore some clear authority. |

You wish to turn us away from what our fathers used to worship. Then bring us a clear authority (i.e. a clear proof of what you say)." |

Dia menyeru kamu untuk memberi ampunan kepadamu dari dosa-dosamu dan menangguhkan (siksaan)mu sampai masa yang ditentukan?" Mereka berkata: "Kamu tidak lain hanyalah manusia seperti kami juga. Kamu menghendaki untuk menghalang-halangi (membelokkan) kami dari apa yang selalu disembah nenek moyang kami, karena itu datangkanlah kepada kami bukti yang nyata.

| 11. | قَالَتْ لَهُمْ رُسُلُهُمْ إِن نَّحْنُ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُكُمْ وَلَـٰكِنَّ اللَّهَ يَمُنُّ عَلَىٰ مَن يَشَاءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ ۖ وَمَا كَانَ لَنَا أَن نَّأْتِيَكُم بِسُلْطَانٍ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِ اللَّهِ ۚ وَعَلَى اللَّهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Qalat lahum rusuluhum in nahnu illa basharun mithlukum walakinna Allaha yamunnu AAala man yashao min AAibadihi wama kana lana an natiyakum bisultanin illa biithni Allahi waAAala Allahi falyatawakkali almuminoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | Their messengers said to them: "True, we are human like yourselves, but Allah doth grant His grace to such of his servants as He pleases. It is not for us to bring you an authority except as Allah permits. And on Allah let all men of faith put their trust. |
| Shakir: | Their apostles said to them: We are nothing but mortals like yourselves, but Allah bestows (His) favors on whom He pleases of His servants, and it is not for us that we should bring you an authority except by Allah's permission; and on Allah should the believers rely. |
| Pickthall: | Their messengers said unto them: We are but mortals like you, but Allah giveth grace unto whom He will of His slaves. It is not ours to bring you a warrant unless by the permission of Allah. In Allah let believers put their trust! |

| Indonesian: | Rasul-rasul mereka berkata kepada mereka: "Kami tidak lain hanyalah manusia seperti kamu, akan tetapi Allah memberi karunia kepada siapa yang Dia kehendaki di antara hamba-hamba-Nya. Dan tidak patut bagi kami mendatangkan suatu bukti kepada kamu melainkan dengan izin Allah. Dan hanya kepada Allah sajalah hendaknya orang-orang mu'min bertawakkal.

| 12. | وَمَا لَنَا أَلَّا نَتَوَكَّلَ عَلَى اللَّهِ وَقَدْ هَدَانَا سُبُلَنَا ۚ وَلَنَصْبِرَنَّ عَلَىٰ مَا آذَيْتُمُونَا ۚ وَعَلَى اللَّهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ الْمُتَوَكِّلُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Wama lana alla natawakkala AAala Allahi waqad hadana subulana walanasbiranna AAala ma athaytumoona waAAala Allahi falyatawakkali almutawakkiloona |
| Yusuf Ali: | "No reason have we why we should not put our trust on Allah. Indeed He Has guided us to the Ways we (follow). We shall certainly bear with patience all the hurt you may cause us. For those who put their trust should put their trust on Allah." |
| Shakir: | And what reason have we that we should not rely on Allah? And He has indeed guided us in our ways; and certainly we would bear with patience your persecution of us; and on Allah should the reliant rely. |
| Pickthall: | How should we not put our trust in Allah when He hath shown us our ways? We surely will endure the hurt ye do us. In Allah let the trusting put their trust. |
| Mohsin Khan: | "And why should we not put our trust in Allah while He indeed has guided us our ways? And we shall certainly bear with patience all the hurt you may cause us, and in Allah (Alone) let those who trust, put their trust." |

| Spanish: | ¿Cómo no vamos a poner nosotros nuestra confianza en Alá, si nos ha dirigido en nuestros caminos? Tendremos, ciertamente, paciencia, a pesar de lo mucho que nos molestáis. ¡Que los que confían confíen en Alá! |
| Indonesian: | Mengapa Kami tidak akan bertawakkal kepada Allah padahal Dia telah menunjukkan jalan kepada kami, dan kami sungguh-sungguh akan bersabar terhadap gangguan-gangguan yang kamu lakukan kepada kami. Dan hanya kepada Allah saja orang-orang yang bertawakkal itu berserah diri".

| Malay:: | Dan mengapa pula kami tidak berserah diri kepada Allah padahal Dia telah menunjukkan jalan untuk tiap-tiap seorang dari kami menjalaninya? | 13. | وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لِرُسُلِهِمْ لَنُخْرِجَنَّكُم مِّنْ أَرْضِنَا أَوْ لَتَعُودُنَّ فِي مِلَّتِنَا ۖ فَأَوْحَىٰ إِلَيْهِمْ رَبُّهُمْ لَنُهْلِكَنَّ الظَّالِمِينَ |
| Transliteration: | Waqala allatheena kafaroo lirusulihim lanukhrijannakum min ardina aw lataAAoodunna fee millatina faawha ilayhim rabbuhum lanuhlikanna alththalimeena |
| Yusuf Ali: | And the Unbelievers said to their messengers: "Be sure we shall drive you out of our land, or ye shall return to our religion." But their Lord inspired (this Message) to them: "Verily We shall cause the wrong-doers to perish! |
| Shakir: | And those who disbelieved said to their apostles: We will most certainly drive you forth from our land, or else you shall come back into our religion. So their Lord revealed to them: Most certainly We will destroy the unjust. |
| Pickthall: | And those who disbelieved said unto their messengers: Verily we will drive you out from our land, unless ye return to our religion. Then their Lord inspired them, (saying): Verily we shall destroy the wrong-doers, |
| Mohsin Khan: | And those who disbelieved, said to their Messengers: "Surely, we shall drive you out of our land, or you shall return to our religion." So their Lord revealed to them: "Truly, We shall destroy the Zalimun (polytheists, disbelievers and wrong-doers). |

| Malay:: | Dan berkatalah pula orang-orang yang kafir itu kepada Rasul-rasul mereka: Demi sesungguhnya, kami akan mengeluarkan kamu dari negeri kami atau kamu menjadi seagama dengan kami. Lalu Tuhan wahyukan, kepada Rasul-rasulNya: Demi sesungguhnya! Kami akan membinasakan orang-orang yang zalim.

| German: | Diejenigen, die ungläubig waren, sagten zu ihren Gesandten: "Wir werden euch ganz gewiß aus unserem Land vertreiben, oder aber ihr kehrt zu unserem Glaubensbekenntnis zurück!" Da gab ihnen ihr Herr (als Offenbarung) ein: "Ganz gewiß werden Wir die Ungerechten vernichten. |

| 14. | وَلَنُسْكِنَنَّكُمُ الْأَرْضَ مِن بَعْدِهِمْ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ لِمَنْ خَافَ مَقَامِي وَخَافَ وَعِيدِ |
| Transliteration: | Walanuskinannakumu alarda min baAAdihim thalika liman khafa maqamee wakhafa waAAeedi |
| Yusuf Ali: | "And verily We shall cause you to abide in the land, and succeed them. This for such as fear the Time when they shall stand before My tribunal,- such as fear the punishment denounced." |
| Shakir: | And most certainly We will settle you in the land after them; this is for him who fears standing in My presence and who fears My threat. |
| Pickthall: | And verily We shall make you to dwell in the land after them. This is for him who feareth My Majesty and feareth My threats. |
| Mohsin Khan: | "And indeed, We shall make you dwell in the land after them. This is for him who fears standing before Me (on the Day of Resurrection or fears My punishment) and also fears My threat." |
| French: | et vous établirons dans le pays après eux. Cela est pour celui qui craint Ma présence et craint Ma menace». |
| Spanish: | y hemos de instalaros, después de ellos, en la tierra! Esto es para quien tema Mi condición y tema Mi amenaza». |
| Indonesian: | dan Kami pasti akan menempatkan kamu di negeri-negeri itu sesudah mereka. Yang demikian itu (adalah untuk) orang-orang yang takut (akan menghadap) ke hadirat-Ku dan yang takut kepada ancaman-Ku".

| Malay:: | Dan demi sesungguhnya! kami akan tempatkan kamu di negeri itu sesudah binasanya kaum yang zalim itu; balasan baik yang demikian, adalah bagi orang-orang yang takut akan sikap keadilanKu (menghitung amalnya) dan takut akan janji-janji azabKu.

| German: | Und Wir werden euch ganz gewiß nach ihnen das Land bewohnen lassen. Dies (gilt) für denjenigen, der Meinen Stand fürchtet und Meine Androhung fürchtet." |
| Russian: | и поселим вас на земле после них. Так будет с теми, кто боится предстать предо Мной и боится Моей угрозы». |
| Bosnian: | i poslije njih vas na Zemlji nastaniti. Biće to za one koji će se polaganja računa preda Mnom bojati i koji će od prijetnje Moje strahovati." |

| 15. | وَاسْتَفْتَحُوا وَخَابَ كُلُّ جَبَّارٍ عَنِيدٍ |
| Transliteration: | Waistaftahoo wakhaba kullu jabbarin AAaneedin |
| Yusuf Ali: | But they sought victory and decision (there and then), and frustration was the lot of every powerful obstinate transgressor. |
| Shakir: | And they asked for judgment and every insolent opposer was disappointed: |
| Pickthall: | And they sought help (from their Lord) and every froward potentate was bought to naught; |
| Mohsin Khan: | And they (the Messengers) sought victory and help [from their Lord (Allah)]; and every obstinate, arrogant dictator (who refuses to believe in the Oneness of Allah) was brought to a complete loss and destruction. |
| French: | Et ils demandèrent [à Allah] la victoire. Et tout tyran insolent fut déçu. |
| Spanish: | Pidieron un fallo y todo tirano desviado sufrió una decepción. |
| Indonesian: | Dan mereka memohon kemenangan (atas musuh-musuh mereka) dan binasalah semua orang yang berlaku sewenang-wenang lagi keras kepala,

| Malay:: | Dan (Rasul-rasul serta umatnya yang beriman) memohon pertolongan (kepada Allah, untuk mendapat kemenangan) dan terkecewalah tiap-tiap orang yang sombong takbur, lagi bersikap degil (dalam keingkarannya).

| German: | Und sie riefen (Allah) um Sieg (über die Ungläubigen) an. Und enttäuscht wurde jeder widerspenstige Gewalthaber. |
| Russian: | Они молили о победе, и каждый упорный притеснитель оказывался в убытке. |
| Bosnian: | I poslanici su pomoć tražili, pa je svaki oholi i inadžija nastradao – |
| Urdu: | اور پیغمبروں نے فیصلہ چاہا اور ہر ایک سرکش ضدی نامراد ہوا |

| 16. | مِّن وَرَائِهِ جَهَنَّمُ وَيُسْقَىٰ مِن مَّاءٍ صَدِيدٍ |
| Transliteration: | Min waraihi jahannamu wayusqa min main sadeedin |
| Yusuf Ali: | In front of such a one is Hell, and he is given, for drink, boiling fetid water. |
| Shakir: | Hell is before him and he shall be given to drink of festering water: |
| Pickthall: | Hell is before him, and he is made to drink a festering water, |
| Mohsin Khan: | In front of him (every obstinate, arrogant dictator) is Hell, and he will be made to drink boiling, festering water. |
| French: | L'Enfer est sa destination et il sera abreuvé d'une eau purulente |
| Spanish: | Le espera la gehena y se le dará a beber una mezcla de pus y sangre, |

| 17. | يَتَجَرَّعُهُ وَلَا يَكَادُ يُسِيغُهُ وَيَأْتِيهِ الْمَوْتُ مِن كُلِّ مَكَانٍ وَمَا هُوَ بِمَيِّتٍ ۖ وَمِن وَرَائِهِ عَذَابٌ غَلِيظٌ |
| Transliteration: | YatajarraAAuhu wala yakadu yuseeghuhu wayateehi almawtu min kulli makanin wama huwa bimayyitin wamin waraihi AAathabun ghaleethun |
| Yusuf Ali: | In gulps will he sip it, but never will he be near swallowing it down his throat: death will come to him from every quarter, yet will he not die: and in front of him will be a chastisement unrelenting. |
| Shakir: | He will drink it little by little and will not be able to swallow it agreeably, and death will come to him from every quarter, but he shall not die; and there shall be vehement chastisement before him. |
| Pickthall: | Which he sippeth but can hardly swallow, and death cometh unto him from every side while yet he cannot die, and before him is a harsh doom. |
| Mohsin Khan: | He will sip it unwillingly, and he will find a great difficulty to swallow it down his throat ; and death will come to him from every side, yet he will not die and in front of him, will be a great torment. |
| French: | qu'il tentera d'avaler à petites gorgées. Mais c'est à peine s'il peut l'avaler. La mort lui viendra de toutes parts, mais il ne mourra pas; et il aura un châtiment terrible. |

| Indonesian: | diminumnya air nanah itu dan hampir dia tidak bisa menelannya dan datanglah (bahaya) maut kepadanya dari segenap penjuru, tetapi dia tidak juga mati; dan di hadapannya masih ada azab yang berat.

| Malay:: | Dia meminumnya dengan terpaksa dan hampir-hampir tidak dapat diterima oleh tekaknya (kerana busuknya) dan dia didatangi (penderitaan) maut dari segala arah, sedang dia tidak pula mati (supaya terlepas dari azab seksa itu) dan selain dari itu, ada lagi azab seksa yang lebih berat.

| German: | das er schluckt, aber beinahe nicht hinunterbringt. Und der Tod kommt zu ihm von überall her, doch kann er nicht sterben. Und hinterdrein kommt harte Strafe. |
| Russian: | Он будет пить ее глотками, но едва ли сможет проглотить ее. Смерть будет подступать к нему со всех сторон, однако он не умрет, ибо перед ним будут тяжкие мучения. |
| Bosnian: | mučiće se da je proguta, ali je nikako neće moći proždrijeti i smrt će mu sa svih strana prilaziti, ali on neće umrijeti; njega će teška patnja čekati. |
| Urdu: | جسے گھونٹ گھونٹ پیے گا اور اسے گلےسے نہ اتار سکے گا اور اس پر ہر طرف سے موت آئے گی اور وہ نہیں مرے گا اوراس کے پیچھے سخت عذاب ہوگا |

| 18. | مَّثَلُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا بِرَبِّهِمْ ۖ أَعْمَالُهُمْ كَرَمَادٍ اشْتَدَّتْ بِهِ الرِّيحُ فِي يَوْمٍ عَاصِفٍ ۖ لَّا يَقْدِرُونَ مِمَّا كَسَبُوا عَلَىٰ شَيْءٍ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ الضَّلَالُ الْبَعِيدُ |
| Transliteration: | Mathalu allatheena kafaroo birabbihim aAAmaluhum karamadin ishtaddat bihi alrreehu fee yawmin AAasifin la yaqdiroona mimma kasaboo AAala shayin thalika huwa alddalalu albaAAeedu |
| Yusuf Ali: | The parable of those who reject their Lord is that their works are as ashes, on which the wind blows furiously on a tempestuous day: No power have they over aught that they have earned: that is the straying far, far (from the goal). |
| Shakir: | The parable of those who disbelieve in their Lord: their actions are like ashes on which the wind blows hard on a stormy day; they shall not have power over any thing out of what they have earned; this is the great error. |
| Pickthall: | A similitude of those who disbelieve in their Lord: Their works are as ashes which the wind bloweth hard upon a stormy day. They have no control of aught that they have earned. That is the extreme failure. |
| Mohsin Khan: | The parable of those who disbelieved in their Lord is that their works are as ashes, on which the wind blows furiously on a stormy day; they shall not be able to get aught of what they have earned. That is the straying, far away (from the Right Path). |
| French: | Les œuvres de ceux qui ont mécru en leur Seigneur sont comparables à de la cendre violemment frappée par le vent, dans un jour de tempête. Ils ne tireront aucun profit de ce qu'ils ont acquis. C'est cela l'égarement profond. |
| Spanish: | Las obras de quienes no creen en su Señor son como cenizas azotadas por el viento en un día de tormenta. No pueden esperar nada por lo que han merecido. Ése es el profundo extravío. |
| Indonesian: | Orang-orang yang kafir kepada Tuhannya, amalan-amalan mereka adalah seperti abu yang ditiup angin dengan keras pada suatu hari yang berangin kencang. Mereka tidak dapat mengambil manfa'at sedikitpun dari apa yang telah mereka usahakan (di dunia). Yang demikian itu adalah kesesatan yang jauh.

| Malay:: | Bandingan (segala kebaikan amal dan usaha) orang-orang yang kufur ingkar terhadap Tuhannya ialah seperti abu yang diterbangkan angin pada hari ribut yang kencang; mereka tidak memperoleh sesuatu faedah pun dari apa yang mereka telah usahakan itu. Sia-sianya amalan itu ialah kesan kesesatan yang jauh dari dasar kebenaran.

| German: | (Dies ist) das Gleichnis derjenigen, die ihren Herrn verleugnen: Ihre Werke sind wie Asche, auf die der Wind an einem stürmischen Tag heftig bläst. Sie haben keine Macht über etwas von dem, was sie erworben haben. Das ist wirklich der tiefe Irrtum. |
| Russian: | Деяния тех, кто не уверовал в своего Господа, подобны пеплу, над которым пронесся сильный ветер в ветреный день. Они не смогут распоряжаться ничем из того, что приобрели. Это и есть глубокое заблуждение. |
| Bosnian: | Djela nevjernika u Gospodara njihova nalik su na pepeo koji vihor u olujnom danu raznese; neće moći očekivati nikakvu nagradu za djela koja su učinili, to će teška propast biti! |
| Urdu: | ان کی مثال جنہوں نے اپنے رب سے انکار کیا ایسی ہے کہ ان کے اعمال گویا راکھ ہیں کہ جیسی آندھی کے دن ہوا اڑا کر لے گئی ہو جوکچھ انہوں نے کمایا تھا اس میں کچھ بھی ان کے ہاتھ میں نہ رہا ہویہ بھی بڑی دو رکی گمراہی ہے |

| 19. | أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّ اللَّهَ خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ بِالْحَقِّ ۚ إِن يَشَأْ يُذْهِبْكُمْ وَيَأْتِ بِخَلْقٍ جَدِيدٍ |
| Transliteration: | Alam tara anna Allaha khalaqa alssamawati waalarda bialhaqqi in yasha yuthhibkum wayati bikhalqin jadeedin |
| Yusuf Ali: | Seest thou not that Allah created the heavens and the earth in Truth? If He so will, He can remove you and put (in your place) a new creation? |
| Shakir: | Do you not see that Allah created the heavens and the earth with truth? If He please He will take you off and bring a new creation, |
| Pickthall: | Hast thou not seen that Allah hath created the heavens and the earth with truth? If He will, He can remove you and bring (in) some new creation; |
| Mohsin Khan: | Do you not see that Allah has created the heavens and the earth with truth? If He wills, He can remove you and bring (in your place) a new creation! |
| French: | Ne vois-tu pas qu'Allah a créé les cieux et la terre pour une juste raison? S'Il voulait, Il vous ferait disparaître et ferait venir de nouvelles créatures, |

| Malay:: | Tidakkah engkau telah nampak dan mengetahui bahawa Allah telah menciptakan langit dan bumi dengan cara yang sungguh layak dan berhikmat? Jika Dia kehendaki nescaya dibinasakanNya kamu (dengan sebab kekufuran kamu) dan didatangkan pula dengan makhluk-makhluk yang baru.

| German: | Siehst du nicht, daß Allah die Himmel und die Erde in Wahrheit erschaffen hat? Wenn Er will, läßt Er euch vergehen und bringt eine neue Schöpfung. |
| Russian: | Разве ты не видишь, что Аллах сотворил небеса и землю ради истины? Если Он пожелает, то уведет вас и приведет другие творения. |
| Bosnian: | Zar ne vidiš da je Allah mudro nebesa i Zemlju stvorio? Ako htjedne, vas će udaljiti i nova stvorenja dovesti; |
| Urdu: | کیا تو نے نہیں دیکھا کہ الله نے آسمانوں اور زمین کو ٹھیک طور پر بنایا اگر وہ چاہے تو تمہیں لے جائے اور نئی مخلوق لے آئے |

| 20. | وَمَا ذَٰلِكَ عَلَى اللَّهِ بِعَزِيزٍ |
| Transliteration: | Wama thalika AAala Allahi biAAazeezin |
| Yusuf Ali: | Nor is that for Allah any great matter. |
| Shakir: | And this is not difficult for Allah. |
| Pickthall: | And that is no great matter for Allah. |
| Mohsin Khan: | And for Allah that is not hard or difficult. |
| French: | et cela n'est nullement difficile pour Allah. |
| Spanish: | Y eso no sería difícil para Alá. |
| Indonesian: | dan yang demikian itu sekali-kali tidak sukar bagi Allah.

| Malay:: | Dan yang demikian itu tidaklah sukar bagi Allah melakukannya.

| 21. | وَبَرَزُوا لِلَّهِ جَمِيعًا فَقَالَ الضُّعَفَاءُ لِلَّذِينَ اسْتَكْبَرُوا إِنَّا كُنَّا لَكُمْ تَبَعًا فَهَلْ أَنتُم مُّغْنُونَ عَنَّا مِنْ عَذَابِ اللَّهِ مِن شَيْءٍ ۚ قَالُوا لَوْ هَدَانَا اللَّهُ لَهَدَيْنَاكُمْ ۖ سَوَاءٌ عَلَيْنَا أَجَزِعْنَا أَمْ صَبَرْنَا مَا لَنَا مِن مَّحِيصٍ |
| Transliteration: | Wabarazoo lillahi jameeAAan faqala aldduAAafao lillatheena istakbaroo inna kunna lakum tabaAAan fahal antum mughnoona AAanna min AAathabi Allahi min shayin qaloo law hadana Allahu lahadaynakum sawaon AAalayna ajaziAAna am sabarna ma lana min maheesin |
| Yusuf Ali: | They will all be marshalled before Allah together: then will the weak say to those who were arrogant, "For us, we but followed you; can ye then avail us to all against the wrath of Allah?" They will reply, "If we had received the Guidance of Allah, we should have given it to you: to us it makes no difference (now) whether we rage, or bear (these torments) with patience: for ourselves there is no way of escape." |
| Shakir: | And they shall all come forth before Allah, then the weak shall say to those who were proud: Surely we were your followers, can you therefore avert from us any part of the chastisement of Allah? They would say: If Allah had guided us, we too would have guided you; it is the same to us whether we are impatient (now) or patient, there is no place for us to fly to. |
| Pickthall: | They all come forth unto their Lord. Then those who were despised say unto those who were scornful: We were unto you a following, can ye then avert from us aught of Allah's doom? They say: Had Allah guided us, we should have guided you. Whether we rage or patiently endure is (now) all one for us; we have no place of refuge. |
| Mohsin Khan: | And they all shall appear before Allah (on the Day of Resurrection); then the weak will say to those who were arrogant (chiefs): "Verily, we were following you; can you avail us anything against Allah's Torment?" They will say: "Had Allah guided us, we would have guided you. It makes no difference to us (now) whether we rage, or bear (these torments) with patience; there is no place of refuge for us." |
| French: | Et tous comparaîtront devant Allah. Puis, les faibles diront à ceux qui s'enflaient d'orgueil: «Nous étions bien vos suiveurs. Pouvez-vous nous être de quelque utilité contre le châtiment d'Allah?» - Alors, les autres diront: «Si Allah nous avait guidés nous vous aurions certainement guidés. Il est indifférent pour nous de nous plaindre ou d'endurer; nous n'avons pas d'échappatoire». |
| Spanish: | Todos comparecerán ante Alá. Los débiles dirán entonces a los altivos: «Nosotros os seguíamos. ¿No podríais ahora servirnos de algo contra el castigo de Alá?» Dirán: «Si Alá nos hubiera dirigido, os habríamos dirigido. Da igual que nos impacientemos o que tengamos paciencia: no tenemos escape...» |
| Indonesian: | Dan mereka semuanya (di padang Mahsyar) akan berkumpul menghadap ke hadirat Allah, lalu berkatalah orang-orang yang lemah kepada orang-orang yang sombong: "Sesungguhnya kami dahulu adalah pengikut-pengikutmu, maka dapatkah kamu menghindarkan daripada kami azab Allah (walaupun) sedikit saja? Mereka menjawab: "Seandainya Allah memberi petunjuk kepada kami, niscaya kami dapat memberi petunjuk kepadamu. Sama saja bagi kita, apakah kita mengeluh ataukah bersabar. Sekali-kali kita tidak mempunyai tempat untuk melarikan diri".

| Malay:: | Dan mereka sekalian tetap akan berhimpun mengadap Allah (untuk dihisab pada hari kiamat); kemudian orang-orang yang lemah (yang menjadi pengikut) kepada orang-orang yang sombong takbur itu akan berkata kepada mereka (yang menjadi pemimpinnya): Sesungguhnya kami telah menjadi pengikut kamu; maka adakah kamu dapat menolak daripada kami sedikit dari azab Allah? Mereka menjawab: Kalaulah Allah menunjukkan jalan selamat kepada kami, tentulah kami tunjukkan jalan itu kepada kamu. (Sekarang) sama sahaja kepada kita, samada kita menggelisah dan mengeluh atau kita bersabar, tiadalah sebarang jalan bagi kita untuk melepaskan diri (dari azab itu).

| German: | Und sie erscheinen alle vor Allah. Dann sagen die Schwachen zu denjenigen, die sich hochmütig verhielten: "Wir waren doch eure Gefolgsleute; könnt ihr uns nun vor Allahs Strafe etwas nützen?" Sie sagen: "Wenn Allah uns rechtgeleitet hätte, fürwahr, hätten (auch) wir euch rechtgeleitet. Gleich ist es in Bezug auf uns, ob wir ängstlich sind oder standhaft bleiben; es gibt für uns kein Entrinnen." |

Они скажут: «Если бы Аллах наставил нас на прямой путь, то мы указали бы вам на него. Но теперь нам все равно: будем ли мы горевать или будем терпеть - нам негде укрыться». |
| Bosnian: | I izići će svi pred Allaha, pa će oni koji su bili tlačeni reći glavešinama svojim: "Mi smo bili vaše pristalice, možete li nam imalo Allahovu kaznu olakšati?" – "Da je nas Allah uputio" – odgovoriće oni – "i mi bismo bili vas uputili. Žalili se mi ili trpjeli, svejedno nam je, spasa nam više neće biti." |
| Urdu: | اوریہ سب الله کے سامنے کھڑیں ہوں گے تب کمزور متکبروں سے کہیں گے ہم تو تمہارے تابع تھے سوہمیں الله کے عذاب سے کچھ بچاؤ گے وہ کہیں گے اگر ہمیں الله ہدایت کرتا تو ہم تمہیں ہدایت کرتے اب ہمارے لیے برابر ہے کہ ہم چیخیں چلائیں یا صبر کریں ہمارے بچنے کی کوئی صورت نہیں |

| 22. | وَقَالَ الشَّيْطَانُ لَمَّا قُضِيَ الْأَمْرُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَعَدَكُمْ وَعْدَ الْحَقِّ وَوَعَدتُّكُمْ فَأَخْلَفْتُكُمْ ۖ وَمَا كَانَ لِيَ عَلَيْكُم مِّن سُلْطَانٍ إِلَّا أَن دَعَوْتُكُمْ فَاسْتَجَبْتُمْ لِي ۖ فَلَا تَلُومُونِي وَلُومُوا أَنفُسَكُم ۖ مَّا أَنَا بِمُصْرِخِكُمْ وَمَا أَنتُم بِمُصْرِخِيَّ ۖ إِنِّي كَفَرْتُ بِمَا أَشْرَكْتُمُونِ مِن قَبْلُ ۗ إِنَّ الظَّالِمِينَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ |
| Transliteration: | Waqala alshshaytanu lamma qudiya alamru inna Allaha waAAadakum waAAda alhaqqi wawaAAadtukum faakhlaftukum wama kana liya AAalaykum min sultanin illa an daAAawtukum faistajabtum lee fala taloomoonee waloomoo anfusakum ma ana bimusrikhikum wama antum bimusrikhiyya innee kafartu bima ashraktumooni min qablu inna alththalimeena lahum AAathabun aleemun |
| Yusuf Ali: | And Satan will say when the matter is decided: "It was Allah Who gave you a promise of Truth: I too promised, but I failed in my promise to you. I had no authority over you except to call you but ye listened to me: then reproach not me, but reproach your own souls. I cannot listen to your cries, nor can ye listen to mine. I reject your former act in associating me with Allah. For wrong-doers there must be a grievous penalty." |
| Shakir: | And the Shaitan shall say after the affair is decided: Surely Allah promised you the promise of truth, and I gave you promises, then failed to keep them to you, and I had no authority over you, except that I called you and you obeyed me, therefore do not blame me but blame yourselves: I cannot be your aider (now) nor can you be my aiders; surely I disbelieved in your associating me with Allah before; surely it is the unjust that shall have the painful punishment. |
| Pickthall: | And Satan saith, when the matter hath been decided: Lo! Allah promised you a promise of truth; and I promised you, then failed you. And I had no power over you save that I called unto you and ye obeyed me. So blame not, but blame yourselves. I cannot help you, nor can ye help me, Lo! I disbelieved in that which ye before ascribed to me. Lo! for wrong-doers is a painful doom. |

I had no authority over you except that I called you, and you responded to me. So blame me not, but blame yourselves. I cannot help you, nor can you help me. I deny your former act in associating me (Satan) as a partner with Allah (by obeying me in the life of the world). Verily, there is a painful torment for the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers)." |
| French: | Et quand tout sera accompli, le Diable dira: «Certes, Allah vous avait fait une promesse de vérité; tandis que moi, je vous ai fait une promesse que je n'ai pas tenue. Je n'avais aucune autorité sur vous si ce n'est que je vous ai appelés, et que vous m'avez répondu. Ne me faites donc pas de reproches; mais faites-en à vous-mêmes. | Spanish: | El Demonio dirá cuando se decida la cosa: «Alá os hizo una promesa de verdad, pero yo os hice una que no he cumplido. No tenía más poder sobre vosotros que para llamaros y me escuchasteis. ¡No me censuréis, pues, a mí, sino censuraos a vosotros mismos! Ni yo puedo socorreros, ni vosotros podéis socorrerme. Niego que me hayáis asociado antes a Alá». Los impíos tendrán un castigo doloroso, |
| Indonesian: | Dan berkatalah syaitan tatkala perkara (hisab) telah diselesaikan: "Sesungguhnya Allah telah menjanjikan kepadamu janji yang benar, dan akupun telah menjanjikan kepadamu tetapi aku menyalahinya. Sekali-kali tidak ada kekuasaan bagiku terhadapmu, melainkan (sekedar) aku menyeru kamu lalu kamu mematuhi seruanku, oleh sebab itu janganlah kamu mencerca aku, akan tetapi cercalah dirimu sendiri. Aku sekali-kali tidak dapat menolongmu dan kamupun sekali-kali tidak dapat menolongku. Sesungguhnya aku tidak membenarkan perbuatanmu mempersekutukan aku (dengan Allah) sejak dahulu". Sesungguhnya orang-orang yang zalim itu mendapat siksaan yang pedih.

| Malay:: | Dan berkatalah pula Syaitan setelah selesai perkara itu: Sesungguhnya Allah telah menjanjikan kamu dengan janji yang benar dan aku telah menjanjikan kamu lalu aku mungkiri janjiku itu kepada kamu dan tiadalah bagiku sebarang alasan dan kuasa mempengaruhi kamu selain daripada aku telah mengajak kamu lalu kamu terburu-buru menurut ajakanku itu; maka janganlah kamu salahkan daku tetapi salahkan diri kamu sendiri. Aku tidak dapat menyelamatkan kamu dan kamu juga tidak dapat menyelamatkan daku. Sesungguhnya dari dahulu lagi aku telah kufur ingkarkan (perintah Tuhan) yang kamu sekutukan daku denganNya. Sesungguhnya orang-orang yang zalim (yang meletakkan sesuatu pada bukan tempatnya) beroleh azab yang tidak terperi sakitnya.

Und ich hatte keine Macht über euch, außer daß ich euch gerufen habe und ihr auf mich gehört habt. So tadelt mich nicht, sondern tadelt euch selbst. Ich kann euch nicht zu Hilfe kommen, und ihr könnt mir nicht zu Hilfe kommen. Ich weise es ja von mir, daß ihr mich zuvor (Allah) beigesellt habt." Gewiß, für die Ungerechten gibt es schmerzhafte Strafe. |
| Russian: | Когда дело свершится, дьявол скажет: «Воистину, обещание Аллаха было правдиво, а я обещал вам, но не сдержал данного вам слова. У меня не было над вами никакой власти. Я звал вас, и вы послушались меня. Посему не порицайте меня, а порицайте самих себя. Я не могу помочь вам, а вы не можете помочь мне. Я не причастен к тому, что ранее вы поклонялись мне». Воистину, беззаконникам уготованы мучительные страдания. |
| Bosnian: | I kada bude sve riješeno, šejtan će reći: "Allah vam je prâvō obećanje dao, a ja sam svoja obećanja iznevjerio; ali, ja nisam nikakve vlasti nad vama imao, samo sam vas pozivao i vi ste mi se odazivali; zato ne korite mene, već sami sebe, niti ja mogu vama pomoći niti vi možete pomoći meni. Ja nemam ništa s tim što ste me prije smatrali Njemu ravnim." Nevjernike sigurno čeka bolna patnja. |
| Urdu: | اور جب فیصلہ ہو چکے گا تو شیطان کہے گا بےشک الله نے تم سے سچا وعدہ کیا تھا اورمیں نے بھی تم سے وعدہ کیا تھا پھر میں نے وعدہ خلافی کی اور میرا تم پر اس کے سوا کوئی زور نہ تھا کہ میں نے تمہیں بلایا پھر تم نے میری بات کو مان لیا پھر مجھے الزام نہ دو اور اپنے آپ کو الزام دونہ میں تمہارا فریادرس ہوں اور نہ تم میرے فریاد رس ہو میں خود تمہارے اس فعل سے بیزار ہوں کہ تم اس سےپہلے مجھے شریک بناتے تھے بے شک ظالموں کے لیے دردناک عذاب ہے |

| 23. | وَأُدْخِلَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ جَنَّاتٍ تَجْرِي مِن تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِمْ ۖ تَحِيَّتُهُمْ فِيهَا سَلَامٌ |
| Transliteration: | Waodkhila allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati jannatin tajree min tahtiha alanharu khalideena feeha biithni rabbihim tahiyyatuhum feeha salamun |
| Yusuf Ali: | But those who believe and work righteousness will be admitted to gardens beneath which rivers flow,- to dwell therein for aye with the leave of their Lord. Their greeting therein will be: "Peace!" |
| Shakir: | And those who believe and do good are made to enter gardens, beneath which rivers flow, to abide in them by their Lord's permission; their greeting therein is, Peace. |
| Pickthall: | And those who believed and did good works are made to enter Gardens underneath which rivers flow, therein abiding by permission of their Lord, their greeting therein: Peace! |
| Mohsin Khan: | And those who believed (in the Oneness of Allah and His Messengers and whatever they brought) and did righteous deeds, will be made to enter Gardens under which rivers flow, - to dwell therein for ever (i.e. in Paradise), with the Permission of their Lord. | 24. | أَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ ضَرَبَ اللَّهُ مَثَلًا كَلِمَةً طَيِّبَةً كَشَجَرَةٍ طَيِّبَةٍ أَصْلُهَا ثَابِتٌ وَفَرْعُهَا فِي السَّمَاءِ |
| Transliteration: | Alam tara kayfa daraba Allahu mathalan kalimatan tayyibatan kashajaratin tayyibatin asluha thabitun wafarAAuha fee alssamai |
| Yusuf Ali: | Seest thou not how Allah sets forth a parable? - A goodly word like a goodly tree, whose root is firmly fixed, and its branches (reach) to the heavens,- of its Lord. So Allah sets forth parables for men, in order that they may receive admonition. |
| Shakir: | Have you not considered how Allah sets forth a parable of a good word (being) like a good tree, whose root is firm and whose branches are in heaven, |

| 25. | تُؤْتِي أُكُلَهَا كُلَّ حِينٍ بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهَا ۗ وَيَضْرِبُ اللَّهُ الْأَمْثَالَ لِلنَّاسِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَذَكَّرُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Tutee okulaha kulla heenin biithni rabbiha wayadribu Allahu alamthala lilnnasi laAAallahum yatathakkaroona |
| Yusuf Ali: | It brings forth its fruit at all times, by the leave of its Lord. So Allah sets forth parables for men, in order that they may receive admonition. |
| Shakir: | Yielding its fruit in every season by the permission of its Lord? And Allah sets forth parables for men that they may be mindful. |

| 26. | وَمَثَلُ كَلِمَةٍ خَبِيثَةٍ كَشَجَرَةٍ خَبِيثَةٍ اجْتُثَّتْ مِن فَوْقِ الْأَرْضِ مَا لَهَا مِن قَرَارٍ |
| Transliteration: | Wamathalu kalimatin khabeethatin kashajaratin khabeethatin ijtuththat min fawqi alardi ma laha min qararin |
| Yusuf Ali: | And the parable of an evil Word is that of an evil tree: It is torn up by the root from the surface of the earth: it has no stability. |
| Shakir: | And the parable of an evil word is as an evil tree pulled up from the earth's surface; it has no stability. |
| Pickthall: | And the similitude of a bad saying is as a bad tree, uprooted from upon the earth, possessing no stability. |
| Mohsin Khan: | And the parable of an evil word is that of an evil tree uprooted from the surface of earth, having no stability. |

| 27. | يُثَبِّتُ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا بِالْقَوْلِ الثَّابِتِ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ ۖ وَيُضِلُّ اللَّهُ الظَّالِمِينَ ۚ وَيَفْعَلُ اللَّهُ مَا يَشَاءُ |
| Transliteration: | Yuthabbitu Allahu allatheena amanoo bialqawli alththabiti fee alhayati alddunya wafee alakhirati wayudillu Allahu alththalimeena wayafAAalu Allahu ma yashao |
| Yusuf Ali: | Allah will establish in strength those who believe, with the word that stands firm, in this world and in the Hereafter; but Allah will leave, to stray, those who do wrong: Allah doeth what He willeth. |
| Shakir: | Allah confirms those who believe with the sure word in this world's life and in the hereafter, and Allah causes the unjust to go astray, and Allah does what He pleases. |
| Pickthall: | Allah confirmeth those who believe by a firm saying in the life of the world and in the Hereafter, and Allah sendeth wrong-doers astray. And Allah doeth what He will. |

| 28. | ۞ أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى الَّذِينَ بَدَّلُوا نِعْمَتَ اللَّهِ كُفْرًا وَأَحَلُّوا قَوْمَهُمْ دَارَ الْبَوَارِ |
| Transliteration: | Alam tara ila allatheena baddaloo niAAmata Allahi kufran waahalloo qawmahum dara albawari |
| Yusuf Ali: | Hast thou not turned thy vision to those who have changed the favour of Allah. Into blasphemy and caused their people to descend to the House of Perdition?- |
| Shakir: | Have you not seen those who have changed Allah's favor for ungratefulness and made their people to alight into the abode of perdition |
| Pickthall: | Hast thou not seen those who gave the grace of Allah in exchange for thanklessness and led their people down to the Abode of Loss, |
| Mohsin Khan: | Have you not seen those who have changed the Blessings of Allah into disbelief (by denying Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم and his Message of Islam), and caused their people to dwell in the house of destruction? |

| German: | Siehst du nicht jene, die Allahs Gunst gegen Undankbarkeit eingetauscht und ihr Volk in die Wohnstätte des Niedergangs versetzt haben, |

| 29. | جَهَنَّمَ يَصْلَوْنَهَا ۖ وَبِئْسَ الْقَرَارُ |
| Transliteration: | Jahannama yaslawnaha wabisa alqararu |
| Yusuf Ali: | Into Hell? They will burn therein,- an evil place to stay in! |
| Shakir: | (Into j hell? They shall enter into it and an evil place it is to settle in. |
| Pickthall: | (Even to) hell? They are exposed thereto. A hapless end! |
| Mohsin Khan: | Hell, in which they will burn, - and what an evil place to settle in! |

| 30. | وَجَعَلُوا لِلَّهِ أَندَادًا لِّيُضِلُّوا عَن سَبِيلِهِ ۗ قُلْ تَمَتَّعُوا فَإِنَّ مَصِيرَكُمْ إِلَى النَّارِ |
| Transliteration: | WajaAAaloo lillahi andadan liyudilloo AAan sabeelihi qul tamattaAAoo fainna maseerakum ila alnnari |
| Yusuf Ali: | And they set up (idols) as equal to Allah, to mislead (men) from the Path! Say: "Enjoy (your brief power)! But verily ye are making straightway for Hell!" |
| Shakir: | And they set up equals with Allah that they may lead (people) astray from His path. Say: Enjoy yourselves, for surely your return is to the fire. |
| Pickthall: | And they set up rivals to Allah that they may mislead (men) from His way. Say: Enjoy life (while ye may) for lo! your journey's end will be the Fire. |

| 31. | قُل لِّعِبَادِيَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا يُقِيمُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَيُنفِقُوا مِمَّا رَزَقْنَاهُمْ سِرًّا وَعَلَانِيَةً مِّن قَبْلِ أَن يَأْتِيَ يَوْمٌ لَّا بَيْعٌ فِيهِ وَلَا خِلَالٌ |
| Transliteration: | Qul liAAibadiya allatheena amanoo yuqeemoo alssalata wayunfiqoo mimma razaqnahum sirran waAAalaniyatan min qabli an yatiya yawmun la bayAAun feehi wala khilalun |
| Yusuf Ali: | Speak to my servants who have believed, that they may establish regular prayers, and spend (in charity) out of the sustenance we have given them, secretly and openly, before the coming of a Day in which there will be neither mutual bargaining nor befriending. |
| Shakir: | Say to My servants who believe that they should keep up prayer and spend out of what We have given them secretly and openly before the coming of the day in which there shall be no bartering nor mutual befriending. |

| 32. | اللَّهُ الَّذِي خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ وَأَنزَلَ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ مَاءً فَأَخْرَجَ بِهِ مِنَ الثَّمَرَاتِ رِزْقًا لَّكُمْ ۖ وَسَخَّرَ لَكُمُ الْفُلْكَ لِتَجْرِيَ فِي الْبَحْرِ بِأَمْرِهِ ۖ وَسَخَّرَ لَكُمُ الْأَنْهَارَ |
| Transliteration: | Allahu allathee khalaqa alssamawati waalarda waanzala mina alssamai maan faakhraja bihi mina alththamarati rizqan lakum wasakhkhara lakumu alfulka litajriya fee albahri biamrihi wasakhkhara lakumu alanhara |
| Yusuf Ali: | It is Allah Who hath created the heavens and the earth and sendeth down rain from the skies, and with it bringeth out fruits wherewith to feed you; it is He Who hath made the ships subject to you, that they may sail through the sea by His command; and the rivers (also) hath He made subject to you. |
| Shakir: | Allah is He Who created the heavens and the earth and sent down water from the clouds, then brought forth with it fruits as a sustenance for you, and He has made the ships subservient to you, that they might run their course in the sea by His command, and He has made the rivers subservient to you. |

| 33. | وَسَخَّرَ لَكُمُ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ دَائِبَيْنِ ۖ وَسَخَّرَ لَكُمُ اللَّيْلَ وَالنَّهَارَ |
| Transliteration: | Wasakhkhara lakumu alshshamsa waalqamara daibayni wasakhkhara lakumu allayla waalnnahara |
| Yusuf Ali: | And He hath made subject to you the sun and the moon, both diligently pursuing their courses; and the night and the day hath he (also) made subject to you. |
| Shakir: | And He has made subservient to you the sun and the moon pursuing their courses, and He has made subservient to you the night and the day. |
| Pickthall: | And maketh the sun and the moon, constant in their courses, to be of service unto you, and hath made of service unto you the night and the day. |

| 34. | وَآتَاكُم مِّن كُلِّ مَا سَأَلْتُمُوهُ ۚ وَإِن تَعُدُّوا نِعْمَتَ اللَّهِ لَا تُحْصُوهَا ۗ إِنَّ الْإِنسَانَ لَظَلُومٌ كَفَّارٌ |
| Transliteration: | Waatakum min kulli ma saaltumoohu wain taAAuddoo niAAmata Allahi la tuhsooha inna alinsana lathaloomun kaffarun |
| Yusuf Ali: | And He giveth you of all that ye ask for. But if ye count the favours of Allah, never will ye be able to number them. Verily, man is given up to injustice and ingratitude. |
| Shakir: | And He gives you of all that you ask Him; and if you count Allah's favors, you will not be able to number them; most surely man is very unjust, very ungrateful. |
| Pickthall: | And He giveth you of all ye ask of Him, and if ye would count the bounty of Allah ye cannot reckon it. Lo! man is verily a wrong-doer, an ingrate. |
| Mohsin Khan: | And He gave you of all that you asked for, and if you count the Blessings of Allah, never will you be able to count them. Verily, man is indeed an extreme wrong-doer, a disbeliever (an extreme ingrate who denies Allah's Blessings by disbelief, and by worshipping others besides Allah, and by disobeying Allah and His Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم). |
| French: | Il vous a accordé de tout ce que vous Lui avez demandé. Et si vous comptiez les bienfaits d'Allah, vous ne sauriez les dénombrer. L'homme est vraiment très injuste, très ingrat. |
| Spanish: | Os ha dado de todo lo que Le habéis pedido. Si os pusierais a contar las gracias de Alá, no podríais enumerarlas. El hombre es, ciertamente, muy impío, muy desagradecido. |
| Indonesian: | Dan Dia telah memberikan kepadamu (keperluanmu) dari segala apa yang kamu mohonkan kepadanya. Dan jika kamu menghitung ni'mat Allah, tidaklah dapat kamu menghinggakannya. Sesungguhnya manusia itu, sangat zalim dan sangat mengingkari (ni'mat Allah).

| Malay:: | Dan Dia telah memberi kepada kamu sebahagian dari tiap-tiap apa jua yang kamu hajati dan jika kamu menghitung nikmat Allah nescaya lemahlah kamu menentukan bilangannya. Sesungguhnya manusia (yang ingkar) sangat suka menempatkan sesuatu pada bukan tempatnya lagi sangat tidak menghargai nikmat Tuhannya.

| German: | Und Er gewährte euch von allem, worum ihr batet. Wenn ihr die Gunst(erweise) Allahs aufzählen wolltet, könntet ihr sie nicht erfassen. Gewiß, der Mensch ist wahrlich sehr oft ungerecht und sehr oft undankbar. |
| Russian: | Он даровал вам все, о чем вы просили. Если вы станете считать милости Аллаха, то не сможете сосчитать их. Воистину, человек несправедлив и неблагодарен. |
| Bosnian: | i daje vam svega onoga što od Njega išćete, i ako biste Allahove blagodati brojali, ne biste ih nabrojali. – Čovjek je, uistinu, nepravedan i nezahvalan. |

| 35. | وَإِذْ قَالَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ رَبِّ اجْعَلْ هَـٰذَا الْبَلَدَ آمِنًا وَاجْنُبْنِي وَبَنِيَّ أَن نَّعْبُدَ الْأَصْنَامَ |
| Transliteration: | Waith qala ibraheemu rabbi ijAAal hatha albalada aminan waojnubnee wabaniyya an naAAbuda alasnama |
| Yusuf Ali: | Remember Abraham said: "O my Lord! make this city one of peace and security: and preserve me and my sons from worshipping idols. |
| Shakir: | And when Ibrahim said: My Lord! make this city secure, and save me and my sons from worshipping idols: |
| Pickthall: | And when Abraham said: My Lord! Make safe this territory, and preserve me and my sons from serving idols. |
| Mohsin Khan: | And (remember) when Ibrahim (Abraham) said: "O my Lord! Make this city (Makkah) one of peace and security, and keep me and my sons away from worshipping idols. |
| French: | Et (rappelle-toi) quand Abraham dit: «O mon Seigneur, fais de cette cité un lieu sûr, et préserve-moi ainsi que mes enfants de l'adoration des idoles. |

| German: | Und als Ibrahim sagte: "Mein Herr, mache diese Ortschaft sicher, und lasse mich und meine Kinder es meiden, Götzen zu dienen. |

| 36. | رَبِّ إِنَّهُنَّ أَضْلَلْنَ كَثِيرًا مِّنَ النَّاسِ ۖ فَمَن تَبِعَنِي فَإِنَّهُ مِنِّي ۖ وَمَنْ عَصَانِي فَإِنَّكَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ |
| Transliteration: | Rabbi innahunna adlalna katheeran mina alnnasi faman tabiAAanee fainnahu minnee waman AAasanee fainnaka ghafoorun raheemun |
| Yusuf Ali: | "O my Lord! they have indeed led astray many among mankind; He then who follows my (ways) is of me, and he that disobeys me,- but Thou art indeed Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful. |
| Shakir: | My Lord! surely they have led many men astray; then whoever follows me, he is surely of me, and whoever disobeys me, Thou surely art Forgiving, Merciful: |
| Pickthall: | My Lord! Lo! they have led many of mankind astray. But whoso followeth me, he verily is of me. And whoso disobeyeth me - Still Thou art Forgiving, Merciful. |

| Indonesian: | Ya Tuhan-ku, sesungguhnya berhala-berhala itu telah menyesatkan kebanyakan daripada manusia, maka barangsiapa yang mengikutiku, maka sesungguhnya orang itu termasuk golonganku, dan barangsiapa yang mendurhakai aku, maka sesungguhnya Engkau, Maha Pengampun lagi Maha Penyayang.

| Malay:: | Wahai Tuhanku, berhala-berhala itu telah menyebabkan sesat banyak di antara umat manusia. Oleh itu, sesiapa yang menurutku (dalam Islam yang menjadi peganganku) maka dia adalah dari golonganku dan sesiapa yang menderhaka kepadaku (dengan menyalahi agamaku), maka sesungguhnya engkau Maha Pengampun, lagi Maha Mengasihani (kiranya dia insaf dan bertaubat).

| German: | Mein Herr, sie haben viele von den Menschen in die Irre geführt. Wer mir nun folgt, der gehört zu mir; und wer sich mir widersetzt, so bist Du ja Allvergebend und Barmherzig. |
| Russian: | Господи! Воистину, они ввели в заблуждение многих людей. Тот, кто последует за мной, относится ко мне. А если кто ослушается меня, то ведь Ты - Прощающий, Милосердный. |

| 37. | رَّبَّنَا إِنِّي أَسْكَنتُ مِن ذُرِّيَّتِي بِوَادٍ غَيْرِ ذِي زَرْعٍ عِندَ بَيْتِكَ الْمُحَرَّمِ رَبَّنَا لِيُقِيمُوا الصَّلَاةَ فَاجْعَلْ أَفْئِدَةً مِّنَ النَّاسِ تَهْوِي إِلَيْهِمْ وَارْزُقْهُم مِّنَ الثَّمَرَاتِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَشْكُرُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Rabbana innee askantu min thurriyyatee biwadin ghayri thee zarAAin AAinda baytika almuharrami rabbana liyuqeemoo alssalata faijAAal afidatan mina alnnasi tahwee ilayhim waorzuqhum mina alththamarati laAAallahum yashkuroona |
| Yusuf Ali: | "O our Lord! I have made some of my offspring to dwell in a valley without cultivation, by Thy Sacred House; in order, O our Lord, that they may establish regular Prayer: so fill the hearts of some among men with love towards them, and feed them with fruits: so that they may give thanks. |
| Shakir: | O our Lord! surely I have settled a part of my offspring in a valley unproductive of fruit near Thy Sacred House, our Lord! that they may keep up prayer; therefore make the hearts of some people yearn towards them and provide them with fruits; haply they may be grateful: |

I have settled some of my posterity in an uncultivable valley near unto Thy holy House, our Lord! that they may establish proper worship; so incline some hearts of men that they may yearn toward them, and provide Thou them with fruits in order that they may be thankful. |

I have made some of my offspring to dwell in an uncultivable valley by Your Sacred House (the Ka'bah at Makkah) in order, O our Lord, that they may perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat). So fill some hearts among men with love towards them, and (O Allah) provide them with fruits so that they may give thanks. |
| French: | O notre Seigneur, j'ai établi une partie de ma descendance dans une vallée sans agriculture, près de Ta Maison sacrée [la Ka'ba], - ô notre Seigneur - afin qu'ils accomplissent la Salât. Fais donc que se penchent vers eux les cœurs d'une partie des gens. Et nourris-les de fruits. Peut-être seront-ils reconnaissants? |
| Spanish: | ¡Señor! He establecido a parte de mi descendencia en un valle sin cultivar, junto a tu Casa Sagrada, ¡Señor!, para que hagan la azalá. ¡Haz que los corazones de algunos hombres sean afectuosos con ellos! ¡Provéeles de frutos! Quizás, así, sean agradecidos. |
| Indonesian: | Ya Tuhan kami, sesungguhnya aku telah menempatkan sebahagian keturunanku di lembah yang tidak mempunyai tanam-tanaman di dekat rumah Engkau (Baitullah) yang dihormati, ya Tuhan kami (yang demikian itu) agar mereka mendirikan shalat, maka jadikanlah hati sebagian manusia cenderung kepada mereka dan beri rezkilah mereka dari buah-buahan, mudah-mudahan mereka bersyukur.

Sesungguhnya aku telah menempatkan sebahagian dari zuriat keturunanku di sebuah lembah (Tanah Suci Mekah) yang tidak ada tanaman padanya, di sisi rumahMu yang diharamkan mencerobohinya. Wahai Tuhan kami, (mereka ditempatkan di situ) supaya mereka mendirikan sembahyang (dan memakmurkannya dengan ibadat). Oleh itu, jadikanlah hati sebahagian dari manusia tertarik gemar kepada mereka, (supaya datang beramai-ramai ke situ) dan kurniakanlah rezeki kepada mereka dari berbagai jenis buah-buahan dan hasil tanaman, semoga mereka bersyukur.

| German: | Unser Herr, ich habe (einige) aus meiner Nachkommenschaft in einem Tal ohne Pflanzungen bei Deinem geschützten Haus wohnen lassen, unser Herr, damit sie das Gebet verrichten. So lasse die Herzen einiger Menschen sich ihnen zuneigen und versorge sie mit Früchten, auf daß sie dankbar sein mögen. |
| Russian: | Господь наш! Я поселил часть моего потомства в долине, где нет злаков, у Твоего Заповедного дома. Господь наш! Пусть они совершают намаз. Наполни сердца некоторых людей любовью к ним и надели их плодами, - быть может, они будут благодарны. |

| 38. | رَبَّنَا إِنَّكَ تَعْلَمُ مَا نُخْفِي وَمَا نُعْلِنُ ۗ وَمَا يَخْفَىٰ عَلَى اللَّهِ مِن شَيْءٍ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاءِ |
| Transliteration: | Rabbana innaka taAAlamu ma nukhfee wama nuAAlinu wama yakhfa AAala Allahi min shayin fee alardi wala fee alssamai |
| Yusuf Ali: | "O our Lord! truly Thou dost know what we conceal and what we reveal: for nothing whatever is hidden from Allah, whether on earth or in heaven. |
| Shakir: | O our Lord! Surely Thou knowest what we hide and what we make public, and nothing in the earth nor any thing in heaven is hidden from Allah: |

| Transliteration: | Alhamdu lillahi allathee wahaba lee AAala alkibari ismaAAeela waishaqa inna rabbee lasameeAAu aldduAAai |
| Yusuf Ali: | "Praise be to Allah, Who hath granted unto me in old age Isma'il and Isaac: for truly my Lord is He, the Hearer of Prayer! |

| Transliteration: | Rabbi ijAAalnee muqeema alssalati wamin thurriyyatee rabbana wtaqabbal duAAai |
| Yusuf Ali: | O my Lord! make me one who establishes regular Prayer, and also (raise such) among my offspring O our Lord! and accept Thou my Prayer. |
| Shakir: | My Lord! make me keep up prayer and from my offspring (too), O our Lord, and accept my prayer: |
| Pickthall: | My Lord! Make me to establish proper worship, and some of my posterity (also); our Lord! and accept my prayer. |

| Transliteration: | Rabbana ighfir lee waliwalidayya walilmumineena yawma yaqoomu alhisabu |
| Yusuf Ali: | "O our Lord! cover (us) with Thy Forgiveness - me, my parents, and (all) Believers, on the Day that the Reckoning will be established! |
| Shakir: | O our Lord! grant me protection and my parents and the believers on the day when the reckoning shall come to pass! |
| Pickthall: | Our Lord! Forgive me and my parents and believers on the day when the account is cast. |

| 42. | وَلَا تَحْسَبَنَّ اللَّهَ غَافِلًا عَمَّا يَعْمَلُ الظَّالِمُونَ ۚ إِنَّمَا يُؤَخِّرُهُمْ لِيَوْمٍ تَشْخَصُ فِيهِ الْأَبْصَارُ |
| Transliteration: | Wala tahsabanna Allaha ghafilan AAamma yaAAmalu alththalimoona innama yuakhkhiruhum liyawmin tashkhasu feehi alabsaru |
| Yusuf Ali: | Think not that Allah doth not heed the deeds of those who do wrong. He but giveth them respite against a Day when the eyes will fixedly stare in horror,- |
| Shakir: | And do not think Allah to be heedless of what the unjust do; He only respites them to a day on which the eyes shall be fixedly open, |
| Pickthall: | Deem not that Allah is unaware of what the wicked do. He but giveth them a respite till a day when eyes will stare (in terror), |

| 43. | مُهْطِعِينَ مُقْنِعِي رُءُوسِهِمْ لَا يَرْتَدُّ إِلَيْهِمْ طَرْفُهُمْ ۖ وَأَفْئِدَتُهُمْ هَوَاءٌ |
| Transliteration: | MuhtiAAeena muqniAAee ruoosihim la yartaddu ilayhim tarfuhum waafidatuhum hawaon |
| Yusuf Ali: | They running forward with necks outstretched, their heads uplifted, their gaze returning not towards them, and their hearts a (gaping) void! |
| Shakir: | Hastening forward, their heads upraised, their eyes not reverting to them and their hearts vacant. |
| Pickthall: | As they come hurrying on in fear, their heads upraised, their gaze returning not to them, and their hearts as air. |
| Mohsin Khan: | (They will be) hastening forward with necks outstretched, their heads raised up (towards the sky), their gaze returning not towards them and their hearts empty (from thinking because of extreme fear). |
| French: | Ils courront [suppliant], levant la tête, les yeux hagards et les cœurs vides. |

| Malay:: | (Dalam pada itu) mereka terburu-buru (menyahut panggilan ke padang Mahsyar) sambil mendongakkan kepala mereka dengan mata tidak berkelip dan hati mereka tidak bersemangat (kerana bingung dan cemas).

| German: | (sie kommen) hastend, die Köpfe hochhebend; ihr Blick kehrt nicht zu ihnen zurück, und ihre Herzen sind leer. |
| Russian: | Они будут спешить с запрокинутыми головами. Взоры не будут возвращаться к ним, а их сердца будут опустошены (переполнены страхом и лишены всех иных чувств). |
| Bosnian: | i kada će žureći, uzdignutih glava, netremice gledati; a srca će im prazna biti. |
| Urdu: | وہ سرا اٹھائے ہوئے دوڑتے چلے جارہے ہوں گے کہ ا ن کی نظر ان کی طرف ہٹ کرنہیں آوے گی اور ان کے دل اڑ گئے ہوں گے |

| 44. | وَأَنذِرِ النَّاسَ يَوْمَ يَأْتِيهِمُ الْعَذَابُ فَيَقُولُ الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا رَبَّنَا أَخِّرْنَا إِلَىٰ أَجَلٍ قَرِيبٍ نُّجِبْ دَعْوَتَكَ وَنَتَّبِعِ الرُّسُلَ ۗ أَوَلَمْ تَكُونُوا أَقْسَمْتُم مِّن قَبْلُ مَا لَكُم مِّن زَوَالٍ |
| Transliteration: | Waanthiri alnnasa yawma yateehimu alAAathabu fayaqoolu allatheena thalamoo rabbana akhkhirna ila ajalin qareebin nujib daAAwataka wanattabiAAi alrrusula awalam takoonoo aqsamtum min qablu ma lakum min zawalin |
| Yusuf Ali: | So warn mankind of the Day when the Wrath will reach them: then will the wrong-doers say: "Our Lord! respite us (if only) for a short term: we will answer Thy call, and follow the messengers!" "What! were ye not wont to swear aforetime that ye should suffer no decline? |
| Shakir: | And warn people of the day when the chastisement shall come to them, then those who were unjust will say: O our Lord! respite us to a near term, (so) we shall respond to Thy call and follow the apostles. What! did you not swear before (that) there will be no passing away for you! |
| Pickthall: | And warn mankind of a day when the doom will come upon them, and those who did wrong will say: Our Lord! Reprieve us for a little while. We will obey Thy call and will follow the messengers. (It will be answered): Did ye not swear before that there would be no end for you? |
| Mohsin Khan: | And warn (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم) mankind of the Day when the torment will come unto them; then the wrong-doers will say: "Our Lord! Respite us for a little while, we will answer Your Call and follow the Messengers!" (It will be said): "Had you not sworn aforetime that you would not leave (the world for the Hereafter). |
| French: | Et avertis les gens du jour où le châtiment les atteindra et ceux qui auront été injustes diront: «O notre Seigneur accorde-nous un court délai, nous répondrons à Ton appel et suivrons les messagers». - N'avez-vous pas juré auparavant que vous ne deviez jamais disparaître? |

| Indonesian: | Dan berikanlah peringatan kepada manusia terhadap hari (yang pada waktu itu) datang azab kepada mereka, maka berkatalah orang-orang yang zalim: "Ya Tuhan kami, beri tangguhlah kami (kembalikanlah kami ke dunia) walaupun dalam waktu yang sedikit, niscaya kami akan mematuhi seruan Engkau dan akan mengikuti rasul-rasul. (Kepada mereka dikatakan): "Bukankah kamu telah bersumpah dahulu (di dunia) bahwa sekali-kali kamu tidak akan binasa?,

| Malay:: | Dan berilah amaran (wahai Muhammad) kepada manusia yang ingkar itu jangan mereka lupakan hari kiamat yang padanya mereka akan didatangi azab, kerana pada saat itu, orang-orang yang berlaku zalim akan merayu dengan berkata: Wahai Tuhan kami, (kembalikanlah kami ke dunia dan) berilah tempoh kepada kami hingga ke suatu masa yang dekat, supaya kami menyahut seruanMu (untuk mengesakanMu dan mentaati perintahMu) dan supaya kami menurut agama yang disampaikan oleh Rasul-rasul itu dan (rayuan mereka akan ditolak dengan dikatakan kepada mereka): Tidakkah kamu telah diberikan tempoh untuk berbuat demikian dan bukankah kamu telah bersumpah (semasa kamu dalam dunia) dahulu, bahawa keadaan kamu tidak akan mengalami sebarang perubahan?

| German: | Und warne die Menschen vor dem Tag, an dem die Strafe über sie kommt. Da werden diejenigen sagen, die Unrecht taten: "Unser Herr, stelle uns auf eine kurze Frist zurück, so werden wir Deinen Ruf erhören und den Gesandten folgen." "Hattet ihr denn nicht zuvor geschworen, es würde für euch keinen Untergang geben? |
| Russian: | Предостерегай людей от того дня, когда к ним явятся мучения. Тогда те, которые поступали несправедливо, скажут: «Господь наш! Дай нам отсрочку на маленький срок, и мы ответим на Твой призыв и последуем за посланниками». Им будет сказано: «Разве раньше вы не клялись, что не покинете земной мир? |
| Bosnian: | Ti opominji ljude Danom kada će im kazna doći, kada će oni koji su se ogriješili prema sebi – govoriti: "Gospodaru naš, ostavi nas još samo kratko vrijeme, odazvaćemo se pozivu Tvome i slijedićemo poslanike!" – "A zar se prije niste zaklinjali da nećete na onaj svijet? |
| Urdu: | اور لوگوں کو اس دن سے ڈراوے کہ ان پر عذاب آئے گا تب ظالم کہیں گے اے رب ہمارے! ہمیں تھوڑی مدت تک مہلت دے کہ ہم تیرا بلانا قبول کر لیں اور رسولوں کی پیروی کر لیں کیاتم نے پہلے قسم نہیں کھائی تھی کہ تمہیں کہیں جانا ہی نہیں ہے |

| 45. | وَسَكَنتُمْ فِي مَسَاكِنِ الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا أَنفُسَهُمْ وَتَبَيَّنَ لَكُمْ كَيْفَ فَعَلْنَا بِهِمْ وَضَرَبْنَا لَكُمُ الْأَمْثَالَ |
| Transliteration: | Wasakantum fee masakini allatheena thalamoo anfusahum watabayyana lakum kayfa faAAalna bihim wadarabna lakumu alamthala |
| Yusuf Ali: | "And ye dwelt in the dwellings of men who wronged their own souls; ye were clearly shown how We dealt with them; and We put forth (many) parables in your behoof!" |
| Shakir: | And you dwell in the abodes of those who were unjust to themselves, and it is clear to you how We dealt with them and We have made (them) examples to you. |
| Pickthall: | And (have ye not) dwelt in the dwellings of those who wronged themselves (of old) and (hath it not) become plain to you how We dealt with them and made examples for you? |
| Mohsin Khan: | "And you dwelt in the dwellings of men who wronged themselves, and it was clear to you how We had dealt with them. And We put forth (many) parables for you." |
| French: | Et vous avez habité, les demeures de ceux qui s'étaient fait du tort à eux-mêmes. Il vous est apparu en toute évidence comment Nous les avions traité et Nous vous avons cité les exemples. |

| Malay:: | Padahal kamu telah mendiami tempat-tempat tinggal orang-orang yang berlaku zalim kepada diri mereka sendiri, serta telah ternyata kepada kamu dengan bukti-buKti yang jelas bagaimana Kami telah mengubah keadaan mereka (dengan menimpakan mereka berbagai bencana) dan Kami pula telah nyatakan kepada kamu berbagai contoh perbandingan (di dalam Al-Quran dan melalui sabda Rasul).

| Bosnian: | I nastanili ste se bili u kućama onih koji su se prema sebi ogriješili, a bilo vam je poznato kako smo s njima postupili, i primjere smo vam navodili." |
| Urdu: | اور تم انہیں لوگو ں کی بستیوں میں آباد تھے جنہوں نے اپنی جانوں پر ظلم کیا تھا اور تمہیں معلوم ہو چکا تھا کہ ہم نے ان کے ساتھ کیا کیا تھا او رہم نے تمہیں سب قصے بتلائے تھے |

| 46. | وَقَدْ مَكَرُوا مَكْرَهُمْ وَعِندَ اللَّهِ مَكْرُهُمْ وَإِن كَانَ مَكْرُهُمْ لِتَزُولَ مِنْهُ الْجِبَالُ |
| Transliteration: | Waqad makaroo makrahum waAAinda Allahi makruhum wain kana makruhum litazoola minhu aljibalu |
| Yusuf Ali: | Mighty indeed were the plots which they made, but their plots were (well) within the sight of Allah, even though they were such as to shake the hills! |
| Shakir: | And they have indeed planned their plan, but their plan is with Allah, though their plan was such that the mountains should pass away thereby. |
| Pickthall: | Verily they have plotted their plot, and their plot is with Allah, though their plot were one whereby the mountains should be moved. |
| Mohsin Khan: | Indeed, they planned their plot, and their plot was with Allah, though their plot was not such as to remove the mountains (real mountains or the Islamic law) from their places (as it is of no importance)[Tafsir Ibn Kathir] . |

| Indonesian: | Dan sesungguhnya mereka telah membuat makar yang besar padahal di sisi Allah-lah (balasan) makar mereka itu. Dan sesungguhnya makar mereka itu (amat besar) sehingga gunung-gunung dapat lenyap karenanya.

| German: | Und sie haben bereits ihre Ränke geschmiedet, aber ihre Ränke sind bei Allah, auch wenn ihre Ränke derart sind, daß davor die Berge vergehen. |

| 47. | فَلَا تَحْسَبَنَّ اللَّهَ مُخْلِفَ وَعْدِهِ رُسُلَهُ ۗ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزِيزٌ ذُو انتِقَامٍ |
| Transliteration: | Fala tahsabanna Allaha mukhlifa waAAdihi rusulahu inna Allaha AAazeezun thoo intiqamin |
| Yusuf Ali: | Never think that Allah would fail his messengers in His promise: for Allah is Exalted in power, - the Lord of Retribution. |
| Shakir: | Therefore do not think Allah (to be one) failing in His promise to His apostles; surely Allah is Mighty, the Lord of Retribution. |
| Pickthall: | So think not that Allah will fail to keep His promise to His messengers. Lo! Allah is Mighty, Able to Requite (the wrong). |
| Mohsin Khan: | So think not that Allah will fail to keep His Promise to His Messengers. Certainly, Allah is All-Mighty, All-Able of Retribution. |

| 48. | يَوْمَ تُبَدَّلُ الْأَرْضُ غَيْرَ الْأَرْضِ وَالسَّمَاوَاتُ ۖ وَبَرَزُوا لِلَّهِ الْوَاحِدِ الْقَهَّارِ |
| Transliteration: | Yawma tubaddalu alardu ghayra alardi waalssamawatu wabarazoo lillahi alwahidi alqahhari |
| Yusuf Ali: | One day the earth will be changed to a different earth, and so will be the heavens, and (men) will be marshalled forth, before Allah, the One, the Irresistible; |
| Shakir: | On the day when the earth shall be changed into a different earth, and the heavens (as well), and they shall come forth before Allah, the One, the Supreme. |
| Pickthall: | On the day when the earth will be changed to other than the earth, and the heavens (also will be changed) and they will come forth unto Allah, the One, the Almighty, |
| Mohsin Khan: | On the Day when the earth will be changed to another earth and so will be the heavens, and they (all creatures) will appear before Allah, the One, the Irresistible. |

| 49. | وَتَرَى الْمُجْرِمِينَ يَوْمَئِذٍ مُّقَرَّنِينَ فِي الْأَصْفَادِ |
| Transliteration: | Watara almujrimeena yawmaithin muqarraneena fee alasfadi |
| Yusuf Ali: | And thou wilt see the sinners that day bound together in fetters;- |
| Shakir: | And you will see the guilty on that day linked together in chains. |
| Pickthall: | Thou wilt see the guilty on that day linked together in chains, |
| Mohsin Khan: | And you will see the Mujrimun (criminals, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah - Islamic Monotheism, polytheists) that Day Muqarranun (bound together) in fetters. |

| 50. | سَرَابِيلُهُم مِّن قَطِرَانٍ وَتَغْشَىٰ وُجُوهَهُمُ النَّارُ |
| Transliteration: | Sarabeeluhum min qatranin wataghsha wujoohahumu alnnaru |
| Yusuf Ali: | Their garments of liquid pitch, and their faces covered with Fire; |
| Shakir: | Their shirts made of pitch and the fire covering their faces |
| Pickthall: | Their raiment of pitch, and the Fire covering their faces, |
| Mohsin Khan: | Their garments will be of pitch, and fire will cover their faces. |
| French: | leurs tuniques seront de goudron et le feu couvrira leurs visages. |

| 51. | لِيَجْزِيَ اللَّهُ كُلَّ نَفْسٍ مَّا كَسَبَتْ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ سَرِيعُ الْحِسَابِ |
| Transliteration: | Liyajziya Allahu kulla nafsin ma kasabat inna Allaha sareeAAu alhisabi |
| Yusuf Ali: | That Allah may requite each soul according to its deserts; and verily Allah is swift in calling to account. |
| Shakir: | That Allah may requite each soul (according to) what it has earned; surely Allah is swift in reckoning. |
| Pickthall: | That Allah may repay each soul what it hath earned. Lo! Allah is swift at reckoning. |
| Mohsin Khan: | That Allah may requite each person according to what he has earned. Truly, Allah is Swift at reckoning. |
| French: | (Tout cela) afin qu'Allah rétribue chaque âme de ce qu'elle aura acquis. Certes Allah est prompt dans Ses comptes. |

| 52. | هَـٰذَا بَلَاغٌ لِّلنَّاسِ وَلِيُنذَرُوا بِهِ وَلِيَعْلَمُوا أَنَّمَا هُوَ إِلَـٰهٌ وَاحِدٌ وَلِيَذَّكَّرَ أُولُو الْأَلْبَابِ |
| Transliteration: | Hatha balaghun lilnnasi waliyuntharoo bihi waliyaAAlamoo annama huwa ilahun wahidun waliyaththakkara oloo alalbabi |
| Yusuf Ali: | Here is a Message for mankind: Let them take warning therefrom, and let them know that He is (no other than) One Allah: let men of understanding take heed. |
| Shakir: | This is a sufficient exposition for the people and that they may be warned thereby, and that they may know that He is One Allah and that those possessed of understanding may mind. |
| Pickthall: | This is a clear message for mankind in order that they may be warned thereby, and that they may know that He is only One Allah, and that men of understanding may take heed. |
