German 1:  Alif Lam Mim. 2   ذَ‌ٰلِكَ الْكِتَابُ لَا رَيْبَ ۛ فِيهِ ۛ هُدًى لِّلْمُتَّقِينَ Transliteration 2:  Thalika alkitabu la rayba feehi hudan lilmuttaqeena Yusuf Ali 2:  This is the Book; in it is guidance sure, without doubt, to those who fear Allah. Shakir 2:  This Book, there is no doubt in it, is a guide to those who guard (against evil). Pickthal 2:  This is the Scripture whereof there is no doubt, a guidance unto those who ward off (evil). Mohsin Khan: 2:  This is the Book (the Qur'an), whereof there is no doubt, a guidance to those who are Al-Muttaqun [the pious believers of Islamic Monotheism who fear Allah much (abstain from all kinds of sins and evil deeds which He has forbidden) and love Allah much (perform all kinds of good deeds which He has ordained)]. French 2:  C'est le Livre au sujet duquel il n'y a aucun doute, c'est un guide pour les pieux. Spanish 2:  Ésta es la Escritura, exenta de dudas, como dirección para los temerosos de Alá, Indonesian 2:  Kitab (Al Qur'an) ini tidak ada keraguan padanya; petunjuk bagi mereka yang bertakwa , Melayu 2:  Kitab Al-Quran ini, tidak ada sebarang syak padanya (tentang datangnya dari Allah dan tentang sempurnanya); ia pula menjadi petunjuk bagi orang-orang yang (hendak) bertakwa; German 2:  Dies ist (ganz gewiß) das Buch (Allahs), das keinen Anlaß zum Zweifel gibt, (es ist) eine Rechtleitung für die Gottesfürchtigen, 3   الَّذِينَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِالْغَيْبِ وَيُقِيمُونَ الصَّلَاةَ وَمِمَّا رَزَقْنَاهُمْ يُنفِقُونَ Transliteration 3:  Allatheena yuminoona bialghaybi wayuqeemoona alssalata wamimma razaqnahum yunfiqoona Yusuf Ali 3:  Who believe in the Unseen, are steadfast in prayer, and spend out of what We have provided for them; Shakir 3:  Those who believe in the unseen and keep up prayer and spend out of what We have given them. Pickthal 3:  Who believe in the Unseen, and establish worship, and spend of that We have bestowed upon them; Mohsin Khan: 3:  Who believe in the Ghaib and perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), and spend out of what We have provided for them [i.e. give Zakat , spend on themselves, their parents, their children, their wives, etc., and also give charity to the poor and also in Allah's Cause - Jihad]. French 3:  qui croient à l'invisible et accomplissent la Salat et dépensent [dans l'obéissance à Allah], de ce que Nous leur avons attribué Spanish 3:  que creen en lo oculto, hacen la azalá y dan limosna de lo que les hemos proveído. Indonesian 3:  (yaitu) mereka yang beriman kepada yang ghaib yang mendirikan shalat dan menafkahkan sebahagian rezki yang Kami anugerahkan kepada mereka, Melayu 3:  Iaitu orang-orang yang beriman kepada perkara-perkara yang ghaib dan mendirikan (mengerjakan) sembahyang serta membelanjakan (mendermakan) sebahagian dari rezeki yang Kami berikan kepada mereka. German 3:  die an das Verborgene glauben und das Gebet verrichten und von dem ausgeben, was Wir ihnen beschert haben, 4   وَالَّذِينَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِمَا أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكَ وَمَا أُنزِلَ مِن قَبْلِكَ وَبِالْآخِرَةِ هُمْ يُوقِنُونَ Transliteration 4:  Waallatheena yuminoona bima onzila ilayka wama onzila min qablika wabialakhirati hum yooqinoona Yusuf Ali 4:  And who believe in the Revelation sent to thee, and sent before thy time, and (in their hearts) have the assurance of the Hereafter. Shakir 4:  And who believe in that which has been revealed to you and that which was revealed before you and they are sure of the hereafter. Pickthal 4:  And who believe in that which is revealed unto thee (Muhammad) and that which was revealed before thee, and are certain of the Hereafter. Mohsin Khan: 4:  And who believe in (the Qur'an and the Sunnah ) which has been sent down (revealed) to you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) and in that which was sent down before you [the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel), etc.] and they believe with certainty in the Hereafter. (Resurrection, recompense of their good and bad deeds, Paradise and Hell). French 4:  Ceux qui croient à ce qui t'a été descendu (révélé) et à ce qui a été descendu avant toi et qui croient fermement à la vie future. Spanish 4:  creen en lo que se te ha revelado a ti y antes de ti, y están convencidos de la otra vida. Indonesian 4:  dan mereka yang beriman kepada Kitab (Al Qur'an) yang telah diturunkan kepadamu dan Kitab-kitab yang telah diturunkan sebelummu serta mereka yakin akan adanya (kehidupan) akhirat . Melayu 4:  Dan juga orang-orang yang beriman kepada Kitab "Al-Quran" yang diturunkan kepadamu (Wahai Muhammad) dan Kitab-kitab yang diturunkan dahulu daripadamu, serta mereka yakin akan (adanya) hari akhirat (dengan sepenuhnya). German 4:  und die an das glauben, was auf dich und vor dir herabgesandt wurde, und die mit dem Jenseits fest rechnen. 5   أُولَـٰئِكَ عَلَىٰ هُدًى مِّن رَّبِّهِمْ ۖ وَأُولَـٰئِكَ هُمُ الْمُفْلِحُونَ Transliteration 5:  Olaika AAala hudan min rabbihim waolaika humu almuflihoona Yusuf Ali 5:  They are on (true) guidance, from their Lord, and it is these who will prosper. Shakir 5:  These are on a right course from their Lord and these it is that shall be successful. Pickthal 5:  These depend on guidance from their Lord. These are the successful. Mohsin Khan: 5:  They are on (true) guidance from their Lord, and they are the successful. French 5:  Ceux-là sont sur le bon chemin de leur Seigneur, et ce sont eux qui réussissent (dans cette vie et dans la vie future). Spanish 5:  Ésos son los dirigidos por su Señor y ésos los que prosperarán. Indonesian 5:  Mereka itulah yang tetap mendapat petunjuk dari Tuhan mereka, dan merekalah orang-orang yang beruntung Melayu 5:  Mereka itulah yang tetap mendapat petunjuk dari Tuhan mereka dan merekalah orang-orang yang berjaya. German 5:  Diese folgen der Leitung ihres Herrn und diese sind die Erfolgreichen. 6   إِنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا سَوَاءٌ عَلَيْهِمْ أَأَنذَرْتَهُمْ أَمْ لَمْ تُنذِرْهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ Transliteration 6:  Inna allatheena kafaroo sawaon AAalayhim aanthartahum am lam tunthirhum la yuminoona Yusuf Ali 6:  As to those who reject Faith, it is the same to them whether thou warn them or do not warn them; they will not believe. Shakir 6:  Surely those who disbelieve, it being alike to them whether you warn them, or do not warn them, will not believe. Pickthal 6:  As for the Disbelievers, Whether thou warn them or thou warn them not it is all one for them; they believe not. Mohsin Khan: 6:  Verily, those who disbelieve, it is the same to them whether you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) warn them or do not warn them, they will not believe. French 6:  [Mais] certes les infidèles ne croient pas, cela leur est égal, que tu les avertisses ou non: ils ne croiront jamais. Spanish 6:  Da lo mismo que adviertas o no a los infieles: no creen. Indonesian 6:  Sesungguhnya orang-orang kafir, sama saja bagi mereka, kamu beri peringatan atau tidak kamu beri peringatan, mereka tidak akan beriman. Melayu 6:  Sesungguhnya orang-orang kafir (yang tidak akan beriman), sama sahaja kepada mereka: Samada engkau beri amaran kepadanya atau engkau tidak beri amaran, mereka tidak akan beriman. German 6:  Wahrlich, denen, die ungläubig sind, ist es gleich, ob du sie warnst oder nicht warnst: sie glauben nicht. 7   خَتَمَ اللَّهُ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ وَعَلَىٰ سَمْعِهِمْ ۖ وَعَلَىٰ أَبْصَارِهِمْ غِشَاوَةٌ ۖ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ Transliteration 7:  Khatama Allahu AAala quloobihim waAAala samAAihim waAAala absarihim ghishawatun walahum AAathabun AAatheemun Yusuf Ali 7:  Allah hath set a seal on their hearts and on their hearing, and on their eyes is a veil; great is the penalty they (incur). Shakir 7:  Allah has set a seal upon their hearts and upon their hearing and there is a covering over their eyes, and there is a great punishment for them. Pickthal 7:  Allah hath sealed their hearing and their hearts, and on their eyes there is a covering. Theirs will be an awful doom. Mohsin Khan: 7:  Allah has set a seal on their hearts and on their hearing, (i.e. they are closed from accepting Allah's Guidance), and on their eyes there is a covering. Theirs will be a great torment. French 7:  Allah a scellé leurs coeurs et leurs oreilles; et un voile épais leur couvre la vue; et pour eux il y aura un grand châtiment. Spanish 7:  Alá ha sellado sus corazones y oídos; una venda cubre sus ojos y tendrán un castigo terrible. Indonesian 7:  Allah telah mengunci-mati hati dan pendengaran mereka dan penglihatan mereka ditutup . Dan bagi mereka siksa yang amat berat. Melayu 7:  (Dengan sebab keingkaran mereka), Allah mematerikan atas hati mereka serta pendengaran mereka dan pada penglihatan mereka ada penutupnya dan bagi mereka pula disediakan azab seksa yang amat besar. German 7:  Versiegelt hat Allah ihre Herzen und ihr Gehör; und über ihren Augen liegt ein Schleier; ihnen wird eine gewaltige Strafe zuteil sein. 8   وَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَن يَقُولُ آمَنَّا بِاللَّهِ وَبِالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ وَمَا هُم بِمُؤْمِنِينَ Transliteration 8:  Wamina alnnasi man yaqoolu amanna biAllahi wabialyawmi alakhiri wama hum bimumineena Yusuf Ali 8:  Of the people there are some who say: "We believe in Allah and the Last Day;" but they do not (really) believe. Shakir 8:  And there are some people who say: We believe in Allah and the last day; and they are not at all believers. Pickthal 8:  And of mankind are some who say: We believe in Allah and the Last Day, when they believe not. Mohsin Khan: 8:  And of mankind, there are some (hypocrites) who say: "We believe in Allah and the Last Day" while in fact they believe not. French 8:  Parmi les gens, il y a ceux qui disent: ‹Nous croyons en Allah et au Jour dernier!› tandis qu'en fait, ils n'y croient pas. Spanish 8:  Hay entre los hombres quienes dicen: "Creemos en Alá y en el último Día", pero no creen. Indonesian 8:  Di antara manusia ada yang mengatakan: "Kami beriman kepada Allah dan Hari kemudian" , padahal mereka itu sesungguhnya bukan orang-orang yang beriman. Melayu 8:  Dan di antara manusia ada yang berkata: Kami telah beriman kepada Allah dan kepada hari akhirat; padahal mereka sebenarnya tidak beriman. German 8:  "Und manche Menschen sagen: ""Wir glauben an Allah und an den Jüngsten Tag"", doch sie sind keine Gläubigen. 9   يُخَادِعُونَ اللَّهَ وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَمَا يَخْدَعُونَ إِلَّا أَنفُسَهُمْ وَمَا يَشْعُرُونَ Transliteration 9:  YukhadiAAoona Allaha waallatheena amanoo wama yakhdaAAoona illa anfusahum wama yashAAuroona Yusuf Ali 9:  Fain would they deceive Allah and those who believe, but they only deceive themselves, and realise (it) not! Shakir 9:  They desire to deceive Allah and those who believe, and they deceive only themselves and they do not perceive. Pickthal 9:  They think to beguile Allah and those who believe, and they beguile none save themselves; but they perceive not. Mohsin Khan: 9:  They (think to) deceive Allah and those who believe, while they only deceive themselves, and perceive (it) not! French 9:  Ils cherchent à tromper Allah et les croyants; mais ils ne trompent qu'eux-mêmes, et ils ne s'en rendent pas compte. Spanish 9:  Tratan de engañar a Alá y a los que creen; pero, sin darse cuenta, sólo se engañan a sí mismos. Indonesian 9:  Mereka hendak menipu Allah dan orang-orang yang beriman, padahal mereka hanya menipu dirinya sendiri sedang mereka tidak sadar. Melayu 9:  Mereka hendak memperdayakan Allah dan orang-orang yang beriman, padahal mereka hanya memperdaya dirinya sendiri, sedang mereka tidak menyedarinya. German 9:  "Sie versuchen, Allah und die Gläubigen zu betrügen, und doch betrügen sie nur sich selbst, ohne daß sie dies empfinden. 10   فِي قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٌ فَزَادَهُمُ اللَّهُ مَرَضًا ۖ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ بِمَا كَانُوا يَكْذِبُونَ Transliteration 10:  Fee quloobihim maradun fazadahumu Allahu maradan walahum AAathabun aleemun bima kanoo yakthiboona Yusuf Ali 10:  In their hearts is a disease; and Allah has increased their disease: And grievous is the penalty they (incur), because they are false (to themselves). Shakir 10:  There is a disease in their hearts, so Allah added to their disease and they shall have a painful chastisement because they lie. Pickthal 10:  In their hearts is a disease, and Allah increaseth their disease. A painful doom is theirs because they lie. Mohsin Khan: 10:  In their hearts is a disease (of doubt and hypocrisy) and Allah has increased their disease. A painful torment is theirs because they used to tell lies. French 10:  Il y a dans leurs coeurs une maladie (de doute et d'hypocrisie), et Allah laisse croître leur maladie. Ils auront un châtiment douloureux, pour avoir menti. Spanish 10:  Sus corazones están enfermos y Alá les ha agravado su enfermedad. Tendrán un castigo doloroso por haber mentido. Indonesian 10:  Dalam hati mereka ada penyakit , lalu ditambah Allah penyakitnya; dan bagi mereka siksa yang pedih, disebabkan mereka berdusta. Melayu 10:  Dalam hati mereka (golongan yang munafik itu) terdapat penyakit (syak dan hasad dengki), maka Allah tambahkan lagi penyakit itu kepada mereka dan mereka pula akan beroleh azab seksa yang tidak terperi sakitnya, dengan sebab mereka berdusta (dan mendustakan kebenaran). German 10:  In ihren Herzen ist eine Krankheit, und Allah mehrt ihre Krankheit, und für sie ist eine schmerzliche Strafe dafür (bestimmt), daß sie logen. 11   وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ لَا تُفْسِدُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ قَالُوا إِنَّمَا نَحْنُ مُصْلِحُونَ Transliteration 11:  Waitha qeela lahum la tufsidoo fee alardi qaloo innama nahnu muslihoona Yusuf Ali 11:  When it is said to them: "Make not mischief on the earth," they say: "Why, we only Want to make peace!" Shakir 11:  And when it is said to them, Do not make mischief in the land, they say: We are but peace-makers. Pickthal 11:  And when it is said unto them: Make not mischief in the earth, they say: We are peacemakers only. Mohsin Khan: 11:  And when it is said to them: "Make not mischief on the earth," they say: "We are only peace-makers." French 11:  Et quand on leur dit: ‹Ne semez pas la corruption sur la terre›, ils disent: ‹Au contraire nous ne sommes que des réformateurs!› Spanish 11:  Cuando se les dice: "¡No corrompáis en la tierra!", dicen: "Pero ¡si somos reformadores!" Indonesian 11:  Dan bila dikatakan kepada mereka: Janganlah kamu membuat kerusakan di muka bumi , mereka menjawab: "Sesungguhnya kami orang-orang yang mengadakan perbaikan." Melayu 11:  Dan apabila dikatakan kepada mereka: Janganlah kamu membuat bencana dan kerosakan di muka bumi, mereka menjawab: Sesungguhnya kami orang-orang yang hanya membuat kebaikan. German 11:  "Und wenn ihnen gesagt wird: ""Stiftet kein Unheil auf der Erde"", so sagen sie: ""Wir sind doch die, die Gutes tun."" 12   أَلَا إِنَّهُمْ هُمُ الْمُفْسِدُونَ وَلَـٰكِن لَّا يَشْعُرُونَ Transliteration 12:  Ala innahum humu almufsidoona walakin la yashAAuroona Yusuf Ali 12:  Of a surety, they are the ones who make mischief, but they realise (it) not. Shakir 12:  Now surely they themselves are the mischief makers, but they do not perceive. Pickthal 12:  Are not they indeed the mischief-makers? But they perceive not. Mohsin Khan: 12:  Verily! They are the ones who make mischief, but they perceive not. French 12:  Certes, ce sont eux les véritables corrupteurs, mais ils ne s'en rendent pas compte. Spanish 12:  ¡No son ellos, en realidad, los corruptores? Pero no se dan cuenta. Indonesian 12:  Ingatlah, sesungguhnya mereka itulah orang-orang yang membuat kerusakan, tetapi mereka tidak sadar. Melayu 12:  Ketahuilah! Bahawa sesungguhnya mereka itulah orang-orang yang sebenar-benarnya membuat bencana dan kerosakan, tetapi mereka tidak menyedarinya. German 12:  "Gewiß jedoch sind sie die, die Unheil stiften, aber sie empfinden es nicht. 13   وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ آمِنُوا كَمَا آمَنَ النَّاسُ قَالُوا أَنُؤْمِنُ كَمَا آمَنَ السُّفَهَاءُ ۗ أَلَا إِنَّهُمْ هُمُ السُّفَهَاءُ وَلَـٰكِن لَّا يَعْلَمُونَ Transliteration 13:  Waitha qeela lahum aminoo kama amana alnnasu qaloo anuminu kama amana alssufahao ala innahum humu alssufahao walakin la yaAAlamoona Yusuf Ali 13:  When it is said to them: "Believe as the others believe:" They say: "Shall we believe as the fools believe?" Nay, of a surety they are the fools, but they do not know. Shakir 13:  And when it is said to them: Believe as the people believe they say: Shall we believe as the fools believe? Now surely they themselves are the fools, but they do not know. Pickthal 13:  And when it is said unto them: believe as the people believe, they say: shall we believe as the foolish believe? are not they indeed the foolish? But they know not. Mohsin Khan: 13:  And when it is said to them (hypocrites): "Believe as the people (followers of Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم, Al-Ansar and Al-Muhajirun) have believed," they say: "Shall we believe as the fools have believed?" Verily, they are the fools, but they know not. French 13:  Et quand on leur dit: ‹Croyez comme les gens ont cru›, ils disent: ‹Croirons-nous comme ont cru les faibles d'esprit?› Certes, ce sont eux les véritables faibles d'esprit, mais ils ne le savent pas. Shakir 14:  And when they meet those who believe, they say: We believe; and when they are alone with their Shaitans, they say: Surely we are with you, we were only mocking. Pickthal 14:  And when they fall in with those who believe, they say: We believe; but when they go apart to their devils they declare: Lo! we are with you; verily we did but mock. Mohsin Khan: 14:  And when they meet those who believe, they say: "We believe," but when they are alone with their Shayatin (devils - polytheists, hypocrites), they say: "Truly, we are with you; verily, we were but mocking." Shakir 15:  Allah shall pay them back their mockery, and He leaves them alone in their inordinacy, blindly wandering on. Pickthal 15:  Allah (Himself) doth mock them, leaving them to wander blindly on in their contumacy. Mohsin Khan: 15:  Allah mocks at them and gives them increase in their wrong-doing to wander blindly. Pickthal 16:  These are they who purchase error at the price of guidance, so their commerce doth not prosper, neither are they guided. Mohsin Khan: 16:  These are they who have purchased error for guidance, so their commerce was profitless. And they were not guided. So they could not see. Shakir 17:  Their parable is like the parable of one who kindled a fire but when it had illumined all around him, Allah took away their light, and left them in utter darkness-- they do not see. Pickthal 17:  Their likeness is as the likeness of one who kindleth fire, and when it sheddeth its light around him Allah taketh away their light and leaveth them in darkness, where they cannot see, Mohsin Khan: 17:  Their likeness is as the likeness of one who kindled a fire; then, when it lighted all around him, Allah took away their light and left them in darkness. But Allah is ever round the rejecters of Faith! Shakir 19:  Or like abundant rain from the cloud in which is utter darkness and thunder and lightning; they put their fingers into their ears because of the thunder peal, for fear of death, and Allah encompasses the unbelievers. Und Allah hat die Ungläubigen in Seiner Gewalt. 20   يَكَادُ الْبَرْقُ يَخْطَفُ أَبْصَارَهُمْ ۖ كُلَّمَا أَضَاءَ لَهُم مَّشَوْا فِيهِ وَإِذَا أَظْلَمَ عَلَيْهِمْ قَامُوا ۚ وَلَوْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ لَذَهَبَ بِسَمْعِهِمْ وَأَبْصَارِهِمْ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ Transliteration 20:  Yakadu albarqu yakhtafu absarahum kullama adaa lahum mashaw feehi waitha athlama AAalayhim qamoo walaw shaa Allahu lathahaba bisamAAihim waabsarihim inna Allaha AAala kulli shayin qadeerun Yusuf Ali 20:  The lightning all but snatches away their sight; every time the light (Helps) them, they walk therein, and when the darkness grows on them, they stand still. And if Allah willed, He could take away their faculty of hearing and seeing; for Allah hath power over all things. Shakir 20:  The lightning almost takes away their sight; whenever it shines on them they walk in it, and when it becomes dark to them they stand still; and if Allah had pleased He would certainly have taken away their hearing and their sight; surely Allah has power over all things. Pickthal 20:  The lightning almost snatcheth away their sight from them. As often as it flasheth forth for them they walk therein, and when it darkeneth against them they stand still. If Allah willed, He could destroy their hearing and their sight. Lo! Allah is able to do all things. Melayu 20:  Kilat itu pula hampir-hampir menyambar (menghilangkan) penglihatan mereka; tiap-tiap kali kilat itu menerangi mereka (dengan pancarannya), mereka berjalan dalam cahayanya. Dan apabila gelap menyelubungi mereka, berhentilah mereka (menunggu dengan bingungnya). Dan sekiranya Allah menghendaki, nescaya dihilangkanNya pendengaran dan penglihatan mereka; sesungguhnya Allah Maha Kuasa atas tiap-tiap sesuatu. German 20:  Der Blitz raubt ihnen beinahe ihr Augenlicht: Sooft er ihnen Licht gibt, gehen sie darin voran, und wenn es dunkel um sie wird, so bleiben sie stehen. Und wenn Allah wollte, hätte Er ihnen gewiß Gehör und Augenlicht genommen. Wahrlich, Allah ist über alle Dinge Mächtig. 21   يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ اعْبُدُوا رَبَّكُمُ الَّذِي خَلَقَكُمْ وَالَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَّقُونَ Transliteration 21:  Ya ayyuha alnnasu oAAbudoo rabbakumu allathee khalaqakum waallatheena min qablikum laAAallakum tattaqoona Yusuf Ali 21:  O ye people! Adore your Guardian-Lord, who created you and those who came before you, that ye may have the chance to learn righteousness; Shakir 21:  O men! serve your Lord Who created you and those before you so that you may guard (against evil). Pickthal 21:  O mankind! worship your Lord, Who hath created you and those before you, so that ye may ward off (evil). Mohsin Khan: 21:  O mankind! Worship your Lord (Allah), Who created you and those who were before you so that you may become Al-Muttaqun (the pious - See V.2:2). French 21:  Ô hommes! German 21:  O ihr Menschen, dient eurem Herrn, Der euch und diejenigen vor euch erschaffen hat, damit ihr gottesfürchtig sein möget, 22   الَّذِي جَعَلَ لَكُمُ الْأَرْضَ فِرَاشًا وَالسَّمَاءَ بِنَاءً وَأَنزَلَ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ مَاءً فَأَخْرَجَ بِهِ مِنَ الثَّمَرَاتِ رِزْقًا لَّكُمْ ۖ فَلَا تَجْعَلُوا لِلَّهِ أَندَادًا وَأَنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ Transliteration 22:  Allathee jaAAala lakumu alarda firashan waalssamaa binaan waanzala mina alssamai maan faakhraja bihi mina alththamarati rizqan lakum fala tajAAaloo lillahi andadan waantum taAAlamoona Yusuf Ali 22:  Who has made the earth your couch, and the heavens your canopy; and sent down rain from the heavens; and brought forth therewith Fruits for your sustenance; then set not up rivals unto Allah when ye know (the truth). Shakir 22:  Who made the earth a resting place for you and the heaven a canopy and (Who) sends down rain from the cloud then brings forth with it subsistence for you of the fruits; therefore do not set up rivals to Allah while you know. Pickthal 22:  Who hath appointed the earth a resting-place for you, and the sky a canopy; and causeth water to pour down from the sky, thereby producing fruits as food for you. And do not set up rivals to Allah when ye know (better). Mohsin Khan: 22:  Who has made the earth a resting place for you, and the sky as a canopy, and sent down water (rain) from the sky and brought forth therewith fruits as a provision for you. Then do not set up rivals unto Allah (in worship) while you know (that He Alone has the right to be worshipped). French 22:  C'est Lui qui vous a fait la terre pour lit, et le ciel pour toit; qui précipite la pluie du ciel et par elle fait surgir toutes sortes de fruits pour vous nourrir, ne Lui cherchez donc pas des égaux, alors que vous savez (tout cela). German 22:  Der euch die Erde zu einer Ruhestätte und den Himmel zu einem Bau gemacht hat und vom Himmel Wasser herniedersandte und dadurch Früchte als Gabe für euch hervorbrachte, darum setzt Allah nichts gleich, wo ihr doch wisset. 23   وَإِن كُنتُمْ فِي رَيْبٍ مِّمَّا نَزَّلْنَا عَلَىٰ عَبْدِنَا فَأْتُوا بِسُورَةٍ مِّن مِّثْلِهِ وَادْعُوا شُهَدَاءَكُم مِّن دُونِ اللَّهِ إِن كُنتُمْ صَادِقِينَ Transliteration 23:  Wain kuntum fee raybin mimma nazzalna AAala AAabdina fatoo bisooratin min mithlihi waodAAoo shuhadaakum min dooni Allahi in kuntum sadiqeena Yusuf Ali 23:  And if ye are in doubt as to what We have revealed from time to time to Our servant, then produce a Sura like thereunto; and call your witnesses or helpers (If there are any) besides Allah, if your (doubts) are true. Shakir 23:  And if you are in doubt as to that which We have revealed to Our servant, then produce a chapter like it and call on your witnesses besides Allah if you are truthful. Pickthal 23:  And if ye are in doubt concerning that which We reveal unto Our slave (Muhammad), then produce a surah of the like thereof, and call your witness beside Allah if ye are truthful. Mohsin Khan: 23:  And if you (Arab pagans, Jews, and Christians) are in doubt concerning that which We have sent down (i.e. the Qur'an) to Our slave (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم), then produce a Surah (chapter) of the like thereof and call your witnesses (supporters and helpers) besides Allah, if you are truthful. French 23:  Si vous avez un doute sur ce que Nous avons révélé à Notre Serviteur, tâchez donc de produire une sourate semblable et appelez vos témoins, (les idoles) que vous adorez en dehors d'Allah, si vous êtes véridiques. German 23:  Und wenn ihr im Zweifel seid über das, was Wir auf Unseren Diener herabgesandt haben, so bringt doch eine Sura gleicher Art herbei und beruft euch auf eure Zeugen außer Allah, wenn ihr wahrhaftig seid. 24   فَإِن لَّمْ تَفْعَلُوا وَلَن تَفْعَلُوا فَاتَّقُوا النَّارَ الَّتِي وَقُودُهَا النَّاسُ وَالْحِجَارَةُ ۖ أُعِدَّتْ لِلْكَافِرِينَ Transliteration 24:  Fain lam tafAAaloo walan tafAAaloo faittaqoo alnnara allatee waqooduha alnnasu waalhijaratu oAAiddat lilkafireena Yusuf Ali 24:  But if ye cannot- and of a surety ye cannot- then fear the Fire whose fuel is men and stones,- which is prepared for those who reject Faith. Shakir 24:  But if you do (it) not and never shall you do (it), then be on your guard against the fire of which men and stones are the fuel; it is prepared for the unbelievers. Pickthal 24:  And if ye do it not - and ye can never do it - then guard yourselves against the Fire prepared for disbelievers, whose fuel is of men and stones. Mohsin Khan: 24:  But if you do it not, and you can never do it, then fear the Fire (Hell) whose fuel is men and stones, prepared for the disbelievers. French 24:  Si vous n'y parvenez pas et, à coup sûr, vous n'y parviendrez jamais, parez-vous donc contre le feu qu'alimenteront les hommes et les pierres, lequel est réservé aux infidèles. Spanish 24:  Pero, si no lo hacéis -y nunca podréis hacerlo-, guardaos del fuego cuyo combustible lo constituyen hombres y piedras, y que ha sido preparado para los infieles. Indonesian 24:  Maka jika kamu tidak dapat membuat (nya) dan pasti kamu tidak akan dapat membuat (nya), peliharalah dirimu dari neraka yang bahan bakarnya manusia dan batu, yang disediakan bagi orang-orang kafir. Melayu 24:  Maka kalau kamu tidak dapat membuatnya dan sudah tentu kamu tidak dapat membuatnya, maka peliharalah diri kamu dari api Neraka yang bahan-bahan bakarannya: Manusia dan batu-batu (berhala), (iaitu Neraka) yang disediakan untuk orang-orang kafir. German 24:  Und wenn ihr es aber nicht tut - und ihr werdet es bestimmt nicht tun - so fürchtet das Feuer, dessen Brennstoff Menschen und Steine sind; es ist für die Ungläubigen vorbereitet. 25   وَبَشِّرِ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ أَنَّ لَهُمْ جَنَّاتٍ تَجْرِي مِن تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ ۖ كُلَّمَا رُزِقُوا مِنْهَا مِن ثَمَرَةٍ رِّزْقًا ۙ قَالُوا هَـٰذَا الَّذِي رُزِقْنَا مِن قَبْلُ ۖ وَأُتُوا بِهِ مُتَشَابِهًا ۖ وَلَهُمْ فِيهَا أَزْوَاجٌ مُّطَهَّرَةٌ ۖ وَهُمْ فِيهَا خَالِدُونَ Transliteration 25:  Wabashshiri allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati anna lahum jannatin tajree min tahtiha alanharu kullama ruziqoo minha min thamaratin rizqan qaloo hatha allathee ruziqna min qablu waotoo bihi mutashabihan walahum feeha azwajun mutahharatun wahum feeha khalidoona Yusuf Ali 25:  But give glad tidings to those who believe and work righteousness, that their portion is Gardens, beneath which rivers flow. Every time they are fed with fruits therefrom, they say: "Why, this is what we were fed with before," for they are given things in similitude; and they have therein companions pure (and holy); and they abide therein (for ever). Shakir 25:  And convey good news to those who believe and do good deeds, that they shall have gardens in which rivers flow; whenever they shall be given a portion of the fruit thereof, they shall say: This is what was given to us before; and they shall be given the like of it, and they shall have pure mates in them, and in them, they shall abide. Pickthal 25:  And give glad tidings (O Muhammad) unto those who believe and do good works; that theirs are Gardens underneath which rivers flow; as often as they are regaled with food of the fruit thereof, they say: this is what was given us aforetime; and it is given to them in resemblance. There for them are pure companions; there for ever they abide. Mohsin Khan: 25:  And give glad tidings to those who believe and do righteous good deeds, that for them will be Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise). Every time they will be provided with a fruit therefrom, they will say: "This is what we were provided with before," and they will be given things in resemblance (i.e. in the same form but different in taste) and they shall have therein Azwajun Mutahharatun (purified mates or wives) and they will abide therein forever. French 25:  Annonce à ceux qui croient et pratiquent de bonnes oeuvres qu'ils auront pour demeures des jardins sous lesquels coulent les ruisseaux; chaque fois qu'ils seront gratifiés d'un fruit des jardins ils diront: ‹C'est bien là ce qui nous avait été servi auparavant›. Or c'est quelque chose de semblable (seulement dans la forme); ils auront là des épouses pures, et là ils demeureront éternellement. Spanish 25:  Anuncia la buena nueva a quienes creen y obran bien: tendrán jardines por cuyos bajos fluyen arroyos. Siempre que se les dé como sustento algún fruto de ellos, dirán: "Esto es igual que lo que se nos ha dado antes". Pero se les dará algo sólo parecido. Tendrán esposas purificadas y estarán allí eternamente. Indonesian 25:  Dan sampaikanlah berita gembira kepada mereka yang beriman dan berbuat baik, bahwa bagi mereka disediakan surga-surga yang mengalir sungai-sungai di dalamnya. Setiap mereka diberi rezki buah-buahan dalam surga-surga itu, mereka mengatakan: "Inilah yang pernah diberikan kepada kami dahulu." Mereka diberi buah-buahan yang serupa dan untuk mereka di dalamnya ada isteri-isteri yang suci dan mereka kekal di dalamnya Melayu 25:  Dan berilah khabar gembira kepada orang-orang yang beriman dan beramal soleh, sesungguhnya mereka beroleh Syurga yang mengalir di bawahnya beberapa sungai; tiap-tiap kali mereka diberikan satu pemberian dari sejenis buah-buahan Syurga itu, mereka berkata: Inilah yang telah diberikan kepada kami dahulu dan mereka diberikan rezeki itu yang sama rupanya (tetapi berlainan hakikatnya) dan disediakan untuk mereka dalam Syurga itu pasangan-pasangan, isteri-isteri yang sentiasa bersih suci, sedang mereka pula kekal di dalamnya selama-lamanya. German 25:  "Und verkünde die frohe Botschaft denjenigen, die glauben und Gutes tun, auf daß ihnen Gärten zuteil werden, in deren Niederungen Bäche fließen; und sooft sie eine Frucht daraus bekommen, sagen sie: ""Das ist doch das, was wir schon früher zu essen bekamen."" Doch ihnen wird nur Ähnliches gegeben. Und ihnen gehören darin Gattinnen vollkommener Reinheit und sie werden ewig darin bleiben. 26    ۞ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَسْتَحْيِي أَن يَضْرِبَ مَثَلًا مَّا بَعُوضَةً فَمَا فَوْقَهَا ۚ فَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا فَيَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّهُ الْحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّهِمْ ۖ وَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا فَيَقُولُونَ مَاذَا أَرَادَ اللَّهُ بِهَـٰذَا مَثَلًا ۘ يُضِلُّ بِهِ كَثِيرًا وَيَهْدِي بِهِ كَثِيرًا ۚ وَمَا يُضِلُّ بِهِ إِلَّا الْفَاسِقِينَ Transliteration 26:  Inna Allaha la yastahyee an yadriba mathalan ma baAAoodatan fama fawqaha faamma allatheena amanoo fayaAAlamoona annahu alhaqqu min rabbihim waamma allatheena kafaroo fayaqooloona matha arada Allahu bihatha mathalan yudillu bihi katheeran wayahdee bihi katheeran wama yudillu bihi illa alfasiqeena Yusuf Ali 26:  Allah disdains not to use the similitude of things, lowest as well as highest. Those who believe know that it is truth from their Lord; but those who reject Faith say: "What means Allah by this similitude?" By it He causes many to stray, and many He leads into the right path; but He causes not to stray, except those who forsake (the path),- Shakir 26:  Surely Allah is not ashamed to set forth any parable-- (that of) a gnat or any thing above that; then as for those who believe, they know that it is the truth from their Lord, and as for those who disbelieve, they say: What is it that Allah means by this parable: He causes many to err by it and many He leads aright by it! but He does not cause to err by it (any) except the transgressors, Pickthal 26:  Lo! Allah disdaineth not to coin the similitude even of a gnat. Those who believe know that it is the truth from their Lord; but those who disbelieve say: What doth Allah wish (to teach) by such a similitude? He misleadeth many thereby, and He guideth many thereby; and He misleadeth thereby only miscreants; Mohsin Khan: 26:  Verily, Allah is not ashamed to set forth a parable even of a mosquito or so much more when it is bigger (or less when it is smaller) than it. And as for those who believe, they know that it is the Truth from their Lord, but as for those who disbelieve, they say: "What did Allah intend by this parable?" By it He misleads many, and many He guides thereby. And He misleads thereby only those who are Al-Fasiqun (the rebellious, disobedient to Allah ). French 26:  Certes, Allah ne se gêne point de citer en exemple n'importe quoi: un moustique ou quoi que ce soit au-dessus; quant aux croyants, ils savent bien qu'il s'agit de la vérité venant de la part de leur Seigneur; quant aux infidèles, ils se demandent ‹Qu'a voulu dire Allah par un tel exemple?›. Par cela, nombreux sont ceux qu'Il égare et nombreux sont ceux qu'Il guide; mais Il n'égare par cela que les pervers, Spanish 26:  Alá no se avergüenza de proponer la parábola que sea, aunque se trate de un mosquito. Los que creen saben que es la Verdad, que viene de su Señor. En cuanto a los que no creen, dicen: "¿Qué es lo que se propone Alá con esta parábola?" Así extravía Él a muchos y así también dirige a muchos. Pero no extravía así sino a los perversos. Indonesian 26:  Sesungguhnya Allah tiada segan membuat perumpamaan berupa nyamuk atau yang lebih rendah dari itu Adapun orang-orang yang beriman, maka mereka yakin bahwa perumpamaan itu benar dari Tuhan mereka, tetapi mereka yang kafir mengatakan: "Apakah maksud Allah menjadikan ini untuk perumpamaan?" Dengan perumpamaan itu banyak orang yang disesatkan Allah dan dengan perumpamaan itu (pula) banyak orang yang diberi-Nya petunjuk. Dan tidak ada yang disesatkan Allah kecuali orang-orang yang fasik, Melayu 26:  Sesungguhnya Allah tidak malu membuat perbandingan apa sahaja, (seperti) nyamuk hingga ke suatu yang lebih daripadanya (kerana perbuatan itu ada hikmatnya), iaitu kalau orang-orang yang beriman maka mereka akan mengetahui bahawa perbandingan itu benar dari Tuhan mereka dan kalau orang-orang kafir pula maka mereka akan berkata: Apakah maksud Allah membuat perbandingan dengan benda ini? (Jawabnya): Tuhan akan menjadikan ramai orang sesat dengan sebab perbandingan itu dan akan menjadikan ramai orang mendapat petunjuk dengan sebabnya dan Tuhan tidak akan menjadikan sesat dengan sebab perbandingan itu melainkan orang-orang yang fasik. German 26:  ""Wahrlich, Allah schämt sich nicht, irgendein Gleichnis zu prägen mit einer Mücke oder mit etwas darüber. Nun diejenigen, die glauben, wissen, daß es die Wahrheit von ihrem Herrn ist. Diejenigen aber, die ungläubig sind, sagen: ""Was wollte denn Allah mit einem solchen Gleichnis?"" Er führt damit viele irre und leitet viele auch damit recht. Doch die Frevler führt Er damit irre, 27   الَّذِينَ يَنقُضُونَ عَهْدَ اللَّهِ مِن بَعْدِ مِيثَاقِهِ وَيَقْطَعُونَ مَا أَمَرَ اللَّهُ بِهِ أَن يُوصَلَ وَيُفْسِدُونَ فِي الْأَرْضِ ۚ أُولَـٰئِكَ هُمُ الْخَاسِرُونَ Transliteration 27:  Allatheena yanqudoona AAahda Allahi min baAAdi meethaqihi wayaqtaAAoona ma amara Allahu bihi an yoosala wayufsidoona fee alardi olaika humu alkhasiroona Yusuf Ali 27:  Those who break Allah.s Covenant after it is ratified, and who sunder what Allah Has ordered to be joined, and do mischief on earth: These cause loss (only) to themselves. Shakir 27:  Who break the covenant of Allah after its confirmation and cut asunder what Allah has ordered to be joined, and make mischief in the land; these it is that are the losers. Pickthal 27:  Those who break the covenant of Allah after ratifying it, and sever that which Allah ordered to be joined, and (who) make mischief in the earth: Those are they who are the losers. Mohsin Khan: 27:  Those who break Allah's Covenant after ratifying it, and sever what Allah has ordered to be joined (as regards Allah's religion of Islamic Monotheism, and to practise its laws on the earth and also as regards keeping good relations with kith and kin ), and do mischief on earth, it is they who are the losers. French 27:  qui rompent le pacte qu'ils avaient fermement conclu avec Allah, coupent ce qu'Allah a ordonné d'unir, et sèment la corruption sur la terre. Ceux-là sont les vrais perdants. Spanish 27:  Quienes violan la alianza con Alá después de haberla concluido, cortan los lazos que Alá ha ordenado mantener y corrompen en la tierra, ésos son los que pierden. Indonesian 27:  (yaitu) orang-orang yang melanggar perjanjian Allah sesudah perjanjian itu teguh, dan memutuskan apa yang diperintahkan Allah (kepada mereka) untuk menghubungkannya dan membuat kerusakan di muka bumi. Mereka itulah orang-orang yang rugi. Melayu 27:  (Iaitu) orang-orang yang merombak (mencabuli) perjanjian Allah sesudah diperteguhkannya, dan memutuskan perkara yang disuruh Allah supaya diperhubungkan dan mereka pula membuat kerosakan dan bencana di muka bumi. Mereka itu ialah orang-orang yang rugi. German 27:  "die den Bund Allahs brechen, nachdem dieser geschlossen wurde, und die zerreißen, was nach Allahs Gebot zusammengehalten werden soll, und Unheil auf der Erde anrichten. Diese sind die Verlierer. 28   كَيْفَ تَكْفُرُونَ بِاللَّهِ وَكُنتُمْ أَمْوَاتًا فَأَحْيَاكُمْ ۖ ثُمَّ يُمِيتُكُمْ ثُمَّ يُحْيِيكُمْ ثُمَّ إِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ Transliteration 28:  Kayfa takfuroona biAllahi wakuntum amwatan faahyakum thumma yumeetukum thumma yuhyeekum thumma ilayhi turjaAAoona Yusuf Ali 28:  How can ye reject the faith in Allah.- seeing that ye were without life, and He gave you life; then will He cause you to die, and will again bring you to life; and again to Him will ye return. Shakir 28:  How do you deny Allah and you were dead and He gave you life? Again He will cause you to die and again bring you to life, then you shall be brought back to Him. Pickthal 28:  How disbelieve ye in Allah when ye were dead and He gave life to you! Then He will give you death, then life again, and then unto Him ye will return. Mohsin Khan: 28:  How can you disbelieve in Allah? seeing that you were dead and He gave you life. Then He will give you death, then again will bring you to life (on the Day of Resurrection) and then unto Him you will return (See V.40:11) French 28:  Comment pouvez-vous renier Allah alors qu'Il vous a donné la vie, quand vous en étiez privés? Puis Il vous fera mourir; puis Il vous fera revivre et enfin c'est à Lui que vous retournerez. Spanish 28:  ¿Cómo podéis no creer en Alá, siendo así que os dio la vida cuando aún no existíais, que os hará morir y os volverá a la vida, después de lo cual seréis devueltos a Él? Indonesian 28:  Mengapa kamu kafir kepada Allah, padahal kamu tadinya mati, lalu Allah menghidupkan kamu, kemudian kamu dimatikan dan dihidupkan-Nya kembali, kemudian kepada-Nya-lah kamu dikembalikan? Melayu 28:  Bagaimana kamu tergamak kufur (mengingkari) Allah padahal kamu dahulunya mati (belum lahir), kemudian Dia menghidupkan kamu; setelah itu Dia mematikan kamu, kemudian Dia menghidupkan kamu pula (pada hari akhirat); akhirnya kamu dikembalikan kepadaNya (untuk diberi balasan bagi segala yang kamu kerjakan). German 28:  Wie könnt ihr Allah leugnen, wo ihr doch tot waret und Er euch lebendig machte und euch dann sterben läßt und euch dann (am Jüngsten Tag) lebendig macht, an dem ihr zu Ihm zurückkehrt? 29   هُوَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ لَكُم مَّا فِي الْأَرْضِ جَمِيعًا ثُمَّ اسْتَوَىٰ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ فَسَوَّاهُنَّ سَبْعَ سَمَاوَاتٍ ۚ وَهُوَ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيمٌ Transliteration 29:  Huwa allathee khalaqa lakum ma fee alardi jameeAAan thumma istawa ila alssamai fasawwahunna sabAAa samawatin wahuwa bikulli shayin AAaleemun Yusuf Ali 29:  It is He Who hath created for you all things that are on earth; Moreover His design comprehended the heavens, for He gave order and perfection to the seven firmaments; and of all things He hath perfect knowledge. Shakir 29:  He it is Who created for you all that is in the earth, and He directed Himself to the heaven, so He made them complete seven heavens, and He knows all things. Pickthal 29:  He it is Who created for you all that is in the earth. Then turned He to the heaven, and fashioned it as seven heavens. And He is knower of all things. Mohsin Khan: 29:  He it is Who created for you all that is on earth. Then He rose over (Istawa) towards the heaven and made them seven heavens and He is the All-Knower of everything. French 29:  C'est Lui qui a créé pour vous tout ce qui est sur la terre, puis Il a orienté Sa volonté vers le ciel et en fit sept cieux. Et Il est Omniscient. Spanish 29:  Él es Quien creó para vosotros cuanto hay en la tierra. Y subió al cielo e hizo de él siete cielos. Es omnisciente. Indonesian 29:  Dia-lah Allah, yang menjadikan segala yang ada di bumi untuk kamu dan Dia berkehendak menuju langit, lalu dijadikan-Nya tujuh langit. Dan Dia Maha Mengetahui segala sesuatu. Melayu 29:  Dialah (Allah) yang menjadikan untuk kamu segala yang ada di bumi, kemudian Dia menuju dengan kehendakNya ke arah (bahan-bahan) langit, lalu dijadikannya tujuh langit dengan sempurna dan Dia Maha Mengetahui akan tiap-tiap sesuatu. German 29:  Er ist es, Der für euch alles auf der Erde erschuf; alsdann wandte Er Sich den Himmeln zu und richtete sie zu sieben Himmeln auf; und Er ist aller (Dinge) kundig. 30   وَإِذْ قَالَ رَبُّكَ لِلْمَلَائِكَةِ إِنِّي جَاعِلٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ خَلِيفَةً ۖ قَالُوا أَتَجْعَلُ فِيهَا مَن يُفْسِدُ فِيهَا وَيَسْفِكُ الدِّمَاءَ وَنَحْنُ نُسَبِّحُ بِحَمْدِكَ وَنُقَدِّسُ لَكَ ۖ قَالَ إِنِّي أَعْلَمُ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ Transliteration 30:  Waith qala rabbuka lilmalaikati innee jaAAilun fee alardi khaleefatan qaloo atajAAalu feeha man yufsidu feeha wayasfiku alddimaa wanahnu nusabbihu bihamdika wanuqaddisu laka qala innee aAAlamu ma la taAAlamoona Yusuf Ali 30:  Behold, thy Lord said to the angels: "I will create a vicegerent on earth." They said: "Wilt Thou place therein one who will make mischief therein and shed blood?- whilst we do celebrate Thy praises and glorify Thy holy (name)?" He said: "I know what ye know not." Shakir 30:  And when your Lord said to the angels, I am going to place in the earth a khalif, they said: What! wilt Thou place in it such as shall make mischief in it and shed blood, and we celebrate Thy praise and extol Thy holiness? He said: Surely I know what you do not know. Pickthal 30:  And when thy Lord said unto the angels: Lo! I am about to place a viceroy in the earth, they said: Wilt thou place therein one who will do harm therein and will shed blood, while we, we hymn Thy praise and sanctify Thee? He said: Surely I know that which ye know not. Mohsin Khan: 30:  And (remember) when your Lord said to the angels: "Verily, I am going to place (mankind) generations after generations on earth." They said: "Will You place therein those who will make mischief therein and shed blood, - while we glorify You with praises and thanks and sanctify You." He (Allah) said: "I know that which you do not know." French 30:  Lorsque Ton Seigneur confia aux Anges: ‹Je vais établir sur la terre un vicaire ‹Khalifa›. Ils dirent: ‹Vas-Tu y désigner un qui y mettra le désordre et répandra le sang, quand nous sommes là à Te sanctifier et à Te glorifier?› - Il dit: ‹En vérité, Je sais ce que vous ne savez pas!›. Spanish 30:  Y cuando tu Señor dijo a los ángeles: "Voy a poner un sucesor en la tierra". Dijeron: "¿Vas a poner en ella a quien corrompa en ella y derrame sangre, siendo así que nosotros celebramos Tu alabanza y proclamamos Tu santidad?" Dijo: "Yo sé lo que vosotros no sabéis". Indonesian 30:  Ingatlah ketika Tuhanmu berfirman kepada para malaikat: "Sesungguhnya Aku hendak menjadikan seorang khalifah di muka bumi". Mereka berkata: "Mengapa Engkau hendak menjadikan (khalifah) di bumi itu orang yang akan membuat kerusakan padanya dan menumpahkan darah, padahal kami senantiasa bertasbih dengan memuji Engkau dan mensucikan Engkau?" Tuhan berfirman: "Sesungguhnya Aku mengetahui apa yang tidak kamu ketahui". Melayu 30:  Dan (ingatlah) ketika Tuhanmu berfirman kepada malaikat: Sesungguhnya Aku hendak menjadikan seorang khalifah di bumi. Mereka bertanya (tentang hikmat ketetapan Tuhan itu dengan berkata): Adakah Engkau (Ya Tuhan kami) hendak menjadikan di bumi itu orang yang akan membuat bencana dan menumpahkan darah (berbunuh-bunuhan), padahal kami sentiasa bertasbih dengan memujiMu dan mensucikanMu?. Tuhan berfirman: Sesungguhnya Aku mengetahui akan apa yang kamu tidak mengetahuinya. German 30:  "Und als dein Herr zu den Engeln sprach: ""Wahrlich, Ich werde auf der Erde einen Nachfolger einsetzen"", sagten sie: ""Willst Du auf ihr jemanden einsetzen, der auf ihr Unheil anrichtet und Blut vergießt, wo wir doch Dein Lob preisen und Deine Herrlichkeit rühmen?"" Er sagte: ""Wahrlich, Ich weiß, was ihr nicht wißt."" 31   وَعَلَّمَ آدَمَ الْأَسْمَاءَ كُلَّهَا ثُمَّ عَرَضَهُمْ عَلَى الْمَلَائِكَةِ فَقَالَ أَنبِئُونِي بِأَسْمَاءِ هَـٰؤُلَاءِ إِن كُنتُمْ صَادِقِينَ Transliteration 31:  WaAAallama adama alasmaa kullaha thumma AAaradahum AAala almalaikati faqala anbioonee biasmai haolai in kuntum sadiqeena Yusuf Ali 31:  And He taught Adam the names of all things; then He placed them before the angels, and said: "Tell me the names of these if ye are right." Shakir 31:  And He taught Adam all the names, then presented them to the angels; then He said: Tell me the names of those if you are right. Pickthal 31:  And He taught Adam all the names, then showed them to the angels, saying: Inform Me of the names of these, if ye are truthful. Mohsin Khan: 31:  And He taught Adam all the names (of everything) , then He showed them to the angels and said, "Tell Me the names of these if you are truthful." Mohsin Khan: 32:  They (angels) said: "Glory be to You, we have no knowledge except what you have taught us. Verily, it is You, the All-Knower, the All-Wise." French 32:  - Ils dirent: ‹Gloire à Toi! Tell them their natures." When he had told them, Allah said: "Did I not tell you that I know the secrets of heaven and earth, and I know what ye reveal and what ye conceal?" Shakir 33:  He said: O Adam! inform them of their names. Then when he had informed them of their names, He said: Did I not say to you that I surely know what is ghaib in the heavens and the earth and (that) I know what you manifest and what you hide? Not so Iblis: he refused and was haughty: and He was of those who reject Faith. Shakir 34:  And when We said to the angels: Make obeisance to Adam they did obeisance, but Iblis (did it not). He refused and he was proud, and he was one of the unbelievers. Pickthal 34:  And when We said unto the angels: Prostrate yourselves before Adam, they fell prostrate, all save Iblis. He demurred through pride, and so became a disbeliever. Mohsin Khan: 34:  And (remember) when We said to the angels: "Prostrate yourselves before Adam.". And they prostrated except Iblis (Satan), he refused and was proud and was one of the disbelievers (disobedient to Allah). Und damit wurde er einer der Ungläubigen. 35   وَقُلْنَا يَا آدَمُ اسْكُنْ أَنتَ وَزَوْجُكَ الْجَنَّةَ وَكُلَا مِنْهَا رَغَدًا حَيْثُ شِئْتُمَا وَلَا تَقْرَبَا هَـٰذِهِ الشَّجَرَةَ فَتَكُونَا مِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ Transliteration 35:  Waqulna ya adamu oskun anta wazawjuka aljannata wakula minha raghadan haythu shituma wala taqraba hathihi alshshajarata fatakoona mina alththalimeena Yusuf Ali 35:  We said: "O Adam! dwell thou and thy wife in the Garden; and eat of the bountiful things therein as (where and when) ye will; but approach not this tree, or ye run into harm and transgression." Shakir 35:  And We said: O Adam! Dwell you and your wife in the garden and eat from it a plenteous (food) wherever you wish and do not approach this tree, for then you will be of the unjust. Pickthal 35:  And We said: O Adam! Dwell thou and thy wife in the Garden, and eat ye freely (of the fruits) thereof where ye will; but come not nigh this tree lest ye become wrong-doers. Mohsin Khan: 35:  And We said: "O Adam! Dwell you and your wife in the Paradise and eat both of you freely with pleasure and delight, of things therein as wherever you will, but come not near this tree or you both will be of the Zalimun (wrong-doers)." Kommt jedoch diesem Baum nicht nahe, sonst würdet ihr zu den Ungerechten gehören."" 36   فَأَزَلَّهُمَا الشَّيْطَانُ عَنْهَا فَأَخْرَجَهُمَا مِمَّا كَانَا فِيهِ ۖ وَقُلْنَا اهْبِطُوا بَعْضُكُمْ لِبَعْضٍ عَدُوٌّ ۖ وَلَكُمْ فِي الْأَرْضِ مُسْتَقَرٌّ وَمَتَاعٌ إِلَىٰ حِينٍ Transliteration 36:  Faazallahuma alshshaytanu AAanha faakhrajahuma mimma kana feehi waqulna ihbitoo baAAdukum libaAAdin AAaduwwun walakum fee alardi mustaqarrun wamataAAun ila heenin Yusuf Ali 36:  Then did Satan make them slip from the (garden), and get them out of the state (of felicity) in which they had been. We said: "Get ye down, all (ye people), with enmity between yourselves. On earth will be your dwelling-place and your means of livelihood - for a time." Shakir 36:  But the Shaitan made them both fall from it, and caused them to depart from that (state) in which they were; and We said: Get forth, some of you being the enemies of others, and there is for you in the earth an abode and a provision for a time. Pickthal 36:  But Satan caused them to deflect therefrom and expelled them from the (happy) state in which they were; and We said: Fall down, one of you a foe unto the other! There shall be for you on earth a habitation and provision for a time. Mohsin Khan: 36:  Then the Shaitan (Satan) made them slip therefrom (the Paradise), and got them out from that in which they were. We said: "Get you down, all, with enmity between yourselves. On earth will be a dwelling place for you and an enjoyment for a time." French 36:  Peu de temps après, Satan les fit glisser de là et les fit sortir du lieu où ils étaient. Sebahagian dari kamu menjadi musuh kepada sebahagian yang lain dan bagi kamu semua disediakan tempat kediaman di bumi, serta mendapat kesenangan hingga ke suatu masa (mati). German 36:  ""Doch Satan ließ sie dort straucheln und brachte sie aus dem Zustand heraus, in dem sie waren. Da sprachen Wir: ""Geht (vom Paradies) hinunter! Der eine von euch sei des anderen Feind. Und ihr sollt auf der Erde Wohnstätten und Versorgung auf beschränkte Dauer haben."" 37   فَتَلَقَّىٰ آدَمُ مِن رَّبِّهِ كَلِمَاتٍ فَتَابَ عَلَيْهِ ۚ إِنَّهُ هُوَ التَّوَّابُ الرَّحِيمُ Transliteration 37:  Fatalaqqa adamu min rabbihi kalimatin fataba AAalayhi innahu huwa alttawwabu alrraheemu Yusuf Ali 37:  Then learnt Adam from his Lord words of inspiration, and his Lord Turned towards him; for He is Oft-Returning, Most Merciful. Shakir 37:  Then Adam received (some) words from his Lord, so He turned to him mercifully; surely He is Oft-returning (to mercy), the Merciful. Pickthal 37:  Then Adam received from his Lord words (of revelation), and He relented toward him. Lo! He is the relenting, the Merciful. Mohsin Khan: 37:  Then Adam received from his Lord Words. And his Lord pardoned him (accepted his repentance). Verily, He is the One Who forgives (accepts repentance), the Most Merciful. French 37:  Puis Adam reçut de son Seigneur des paroles, et Allah agréa son repentir car c'est Lui certes, le Repentant, le Miséricordieux. Spanish 37:  Adán recibió palabras de su Señor y Éste se volvió a él. Él es el Indulgente, el Misericordioso. German 37:  "Daraufhin empfing Adam von seinem Herrn Worte, worauf Er ihm verzieh; wahrlich, Er ist der Allverzeihende, der Barmherzige. 38   قُلْنَا اهْبِطُوا مِنْهَا جَمِيعًا ۖ فَإِمَّا يَأْتِيَنَّكُم مِّنِّي هُدًى فَمَن تَبِعَ هُدَايَ فَلَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ Transliteration 38:  Qulna ihbitoo minha jameeAAan faimma yatiyannakum minnee hudan faman tabiAAa hudaya fala khawfun AAalayhim wala hum yahzanoona Yusuf Ali 38:  We said: "Get ye down all from here; and if, as is sure, there comes to you Guidance from me, whosoever follows My guidance, on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve. Shakir 38:  We said: Go forth from this (state) all; so surely there will come to you a guidance from Me, then whoever follows My guidance, no fear shall come upon them, nor shall they grieve. Pickthal 38:  We said: Go down, all of you, from hence; but verily there cometh unto you from Me a guidance; and whoso followeth My guidance, there shall no fear come upon them neither shall they grieve. Mohsin Khan: 38:  We said: "Get down all of you from this place (the Paradise), then whenever there comes to you Guidance from Me, and whoever follows My Guidance, there shall be no fear on them, nor shall they grieve. French 38:  - Nous dîmes: ‹Descendez d'ici, vous tous! Toutes les fois que Je vous enverrai un guide, ceux qui [le] suivront n'auront rien à craindre et ne seront point affligés›. Spanish 38:  Dijimos: "¡Descended todos de él! Si. pues, recibís de Mí una dirección, quienes sigan Mi dirección no tendrán que. temer y no estarán tristes. Indonesian 38:  Kami berfirman: "Turunlah kamu semua dari surga itu! Kemudian jika datang petunjuk-Ku kepadamu, maka barangsiapa yang mengikuti petunjuk-Ku, niscaya tidak ada kekhawatiran atas mereka, dan tidak (pula) mereka bersedih hati". Melayu 38:  Kami berfirman lagi: Turunlah kamu semuanya dari Syurga itu! Kemudian jika datang kepada kamu petunjuk dariKu (melalui Rasul-rasul dan Kitab-kitab yang diturunkan kepada mereka), maka sesiapa yang mengikuti petunjukKu itu nescaya tidak ada kebimbangan (dari sesuatu yang tidak baik) terhadap mereka dan mereka pula tidak akan berdukacita. German 38:  "Wir sprachen: ""Geht hinunter von hier allesamt!"" Und wenn dann zu euch Meine Rechtleitung kommt, brauchen diejenigen, die Meiner Rechtleitung folgen, weder Angst zu haben, noch werden sie traurig sein. 39   وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا وَكَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا أُولَـٰئِكَ أَصْحَابُ النَّارِ ۖ هُمْ فِيهَا خَالِدُونَ Transliteration 39:  Waallatheena kafaroo wakaththaboo biayatina olaika ashabu alnnari hum feeha khalidoona Yusuf Ali 39:  "But those who reject Faith and belie Our Signs, they shall be companions of the Fire; they shall abide therein." Shakir 39:  And (as to) those who disbelieve in and reject My communications, they are the inmates of the fire, in it they shall abide. Pickthal 39:  But they who disbelieve, and deny Our revelations, such are rightful Peoples of the Fire. They will abide therein. Mohsin Khan: 39:  But those who disbelieve and belie Our Ayat (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) - such are the dwellers of the Fire. They shall abide therein forever. French 39:  Et ceux qui ne croient pas (à nos messagers) et traitent de mensonge Nos révélations, ceux-là sont les gens du Feu où ils demeureront éternellement. Spanish 39:  Pero quienes no crean y desmientan Nuestros signos, ésos morarán en el Fuego eternamente". Indonesian 39:  Adapun orang-orang yang kafir dan mendustakan ayat-ayat Kami, mereka itu penghuni neraka; mereka kekal di dalamnya. German 39:  "Diejenigen aber, die ungläubig sind und Unsere Zeichen für Lüge erklären, werden Bewohner des Feuers sein, in dem sie auf ewig verweilen sollen. 40   يَا بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ اذْكُرُوا نِعْمَتِيَ الَّتِي أَنْعَمْتُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَأَوْفُوا بِعَهْدِي أُوفِ بِعَهْدِكُمْ وَإِيَّايَ فَارْهَبُونِ Transliteration 40:  Ya banee israeela othkuroo niAAmatiya allatee anAAamtu AAalaykum waawfoo biAAahdee oofi biAAahdikum waiyyaya fairhabooni Yusuf Ali 40:  O Children of Israel! call to mind the (special) favour which I bestowed upon you, and fulfil your covenant with Me as I fulfil My Covenant with you, and fear none but Me. Shakir 40:  O children of Israel! call to mind My favor which I bestowed on you and be faithful to (your) covenant with Me, I will fulfill (My) covenant with you; and of Me, Me alone, should you be afraid. Pickthal 40:  O Children of Israel! Remember My favour wherewith I favoured you, and fulfil your (part of the) covenant, I shall fulfil My (part of the) covenant, and fear Me. Mohsin Khan: 40:  O Children of Israel! Remember My Favour which I bestowed upon you, and fulfil (your obligations to) My Covenant (with you) so that I fulfil (My Obligations to) your covenant (with Me), and fear none but Me. French 40:  Ô enfants d'Israël, rappelez-vous Mon bienfait dont Je vous ai comblés. Si vous tenez vos engagements vis-à-vis de Moi, Je tiendrai les miens. Et c'est Moi que vous devez redouter. Spanish 40:  ¡Hijos de Israel! Recordad la gracia que os dispensé y sed fieles a la alianza que conmigo concluisteis. Entonces, Yo seré fiel a la que con vosotros concluí. ¡Temedme, pues, a Mí y sólo a Mí! Indonesian 40:  Hai Bani Israil ingatlah akan ni'mat-Ku yang telah Aku anugerahkan kepadamu, dan penuhilah janjimu kepada-Ku niscaya Aku penuhi janji-Ku kepadamu; dan hanya kepada-Ku-lah kamu harus takut (tunduk). Melayu 40:  Wahai Bani Israil! Kenangkanlah kamu akan segala nikmat yang telah Kuberikan kepada kamu dan sempurnakanlah perjanjian (kamu) denganKu, supaya Aku sempurnakan perjanjianKu dengan kamu dan kepada Akulah sahaja hendaklah kamu merasa gerun takut, (bukan kepada sesuatu yang lain). German 40:  O ihr Kinder Israels! Gedenkt Meiner Gnade, die Ich euch erwiesen habe und erfüllt euer Versprechen Mir gegenüber, so erfülle Ich Mein Versprechen euch gegenüber. Und Mich allein sollt ihr fürchten. 41   وَآمِنُوا بِمَا أَنزَلْتُ مُصَدِّقًا لِّمَا مَعَكُمْ وَلَا تَكُونُوا أَوَّلَ كَافِرٍ بِهِ ۖ وَلَا تَشْتَرُوا بِآيَاتِي ثَمَنًا قَلِيلًا وَإِيَّايَ فَاتَّقُونِ Transliteration 41:  Waaminoo bima anzaltu musaddiqan lima maAAakum wala takoonoo awwala kafirin bihi wala tashtaroo biayatee thamanan qaleelan waiyyaya faittaqooni Yusuf Ali 41:  And believe in what I reveal, confirming the revelation which is with you, and be not the first to reject Faith therein, nor sell My Signs for a small price; and fear Me, and Me alone. Shakir 41:  And believe in what I have revealed, verifying that which is with you, and be not the first to deny it, neither take a mean price in exchange for My communications; and Me, Me alone should you fear. Pickthal 41:  And believe in that which I reveal, confirming that which ye possess already (of the Scripture), and be not first to disbelieve therein, and part not with My revelations for a trifling price, and keep your duty unto Me. Mohsin Khan: 41:  And believe in what I have sent down (this Qur'an), confirming that which is with you, [the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)], and be not the first to disbelieve therein, and buy [get (تاخذ اجرا)] not with My Verses [the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] a small price (i.e. getting a small gain by selling My Verses), and fear Me and Me Alone. (Tafsir At-Tabari ). French 41:  Et croyez à ce que J'ai fait descendre, en confirmation de ce qui était déjà avec vous; et ne soyez pas les premiers à le rejeter. Et n'échangez pas Mes révélations contre un vil prix. Et c'est Moi que vous devez craindre. Spanish 41:  ¡Creed en lo que he revelado en confirmación de lo que habéis recibido! ¡No seáis los primeros en no creer en ello, ni malvendáis Mis signos! ¡Temedme, pues, a Mí. y sólo a Mí! Indonesian 41:  Dan berimanlah kamu kepada apa yang telah Aku turunkan (Al Qur'an) yang membenarkan apa yang ada padamu (Taurat), dan janganlah kamu menjadi orang yang pertama kafir kepadanya, dan janganlah kamu menukarkan ayat-ayat-Ku dengan harga yang rendah, dan hanya kepada Akulah kamu harus bertakwa. Melayu 41:  Dan berimanlah kamu dengan apa yang Aku turunkan (Al-Quran) yang mengesahkan benarnya Kitab yang ada pada kamu dan janganlah kamu menjadi orang-orang yang mula-mula kafir (ingkar) akan ia dan janganlah pula kamu menjadikan ayat-ayatKu (sebagai harga untuk) membeli kelebihan-kelebihan yang sedikit faedahnya dan kepada Akulah sahaja hendaklah kamu bertakwa. German 41:  Und glaubt an das, was Ich als Bestätigung dessen herabgesandt habe, was bei euch ist, und seid nicht die ersten, die dies verleugnen! Und tauscht Meine Zeichen nicht ein gegen einen geringen Preis, und Mir allein gegenüber sollt ihr ehrfürchtig sein. 42   وَلَا تَلْبِسُوا الْحَقَّ بِالْبَاطِلِ وَتَكْتُمُوا الْحَقَّ وَأَنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ Transliteration 42:  Wala talbisoo alhaqqa bialbatili wataktumoo alhaqqa waantum taAAlamoona Yusuf Ali 42:  And cover not Truth with falsehood, nor conceal the Truth when ye know (what it is). Shakir 42:  And do not mix up the truth with the falsehood, nor hide the truth while you know (it). Pickthal 42:  Confound not truth with falsehood, nor knowingly conceal the truth. Mohsin Khan: 42:  And mix not truth with falsehood, nor conceal the truth [i.e. Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم is Allah's Messenger and his qualities are written in your Scriptures, the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] while you know (the truth). French 42:  Et ne mêlez pas le faux à la vérité. Ne cachez pas sciemment la vérité. Spanish 42:  ¡No disfracéis la Verdad de falsedad, ni ocultéis la Verdad conociéndola! Indonesian 42:  Dan janganlah kamu campur adukkan yang hak dengan yang bathil dan janganlah kamu sembunyikan yang hak itu sedang kamu mengetahui. Melayu 42:  Dan janganlah kamu campur adukkan yang benar itu dengan yang salah dan kamu sembunyikan yang benar itu pula padahal kamu semua mengetahuinya. German 42:  Und mischt nicht Wahrheit mit Unrecht durcheinander! Und verschweigt nicht die Wahrheit, wo ihr (sie) doch kennt. 43   وَأَقِيمُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَآتُوا الزَّكَاةَ وَارْكَعُوا مَعَ الرَّاكِعِينَ Transliteration 43:  Waaqeemoo alssalata waatoo alzzakata wairkaAAoo maAAa alrrakiAAeena Yusuf Ali 43:  And be steadfast in prayer; practise regular charity; and bow down your heads with those who bow down (in worship). Shakir 43:  And keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate and bow down with those who bow down. Pickthal 43:  Establish worship, pay the poor-due, and bow your heads with those who bow (in worship). Mohsin Khan: 43:  And perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), and give Zakat and bow down (or submit yourselves with obedience to Allah) along with Ar-Raki'un . French 43:  Et accomplissez la Salat, et acquittez la Zakat, et inclinez-vous avec ceux qui s'inclinent. Spanish 43:  ¡Haced la azalá, dad el azaque e inclinaos con los que se inclinan! German 43:  Und verrichtet das Gebet und entrichtet die Zakah und verneigt euch mit den Sich-Verneigenden. 44    ۞ أَتَأْمُرُونَ النَّاسَ بِالْبِرِّ وَتَنسَوْنَ أَنفُسَكُمْ وَأَنتُمْ تَتْلُونَ الْكِتَابَ ۚ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ Transliteration 44:  Atamuroona alnnasa bialbirri watansawna anfusakum waantum tatloona alkitaba afala taAAqiloona Yusuf Ali 44:  Do ye enjoin right conduct on the people, and forget (To practise it) yourselves, and yet ye study the Scripture? Will ye not understand? Shakir 44:  What! do you enjoin men to be good and neglect your own souls while you read the Book; have you then no sense? Pickthal 44:  Enjoin ye righteousness upon mankind while ye yourselves forget (to practise it)? And ye are readers of the Scripture! Have ye then no sense? Mohsin Khan: 44:  Enjoin you Al-Birr (piety and righteousness and each and every act of obedience to Allah) on the people and you forget (to practise it) yourselves, while you recite the Scripture [the Taurat (Torah)]! Have you then no sense? French 44:  Commanderez-vous aux gens de faire le bien, et vous oubliez vous- mêmes de le faire, alors que vous récitez le Livre? Etes-vous donc dépourvus de raison?. Spanish 44:  ¿Mandáis a los hombres que sean piadosos y os olvidáis de vosotros mismos siendo así que leéis la Escritura? ¿Es que no tenéis entendimiento? Indonesian 44:  Mengapa kamu suruh orang lain (mengerjakan) kebaikan, sedang kamu melupakan diri (kewajiban)mu sendiri, padahal kamu membaca Al Kitab (Taurat)? Maka tidakkah kamu berpikir? Melayu 44:  Patutkah kamu menyuruh manusia supaya berbuat kebaikan sedang kamu lupa akan diri kamu sendiri; padahal kamu semua membaca Kitab Allah, tidakkah kamu berakal? German 44:  Wollt ihr den Menschen Aufrichtigkeit gebieten und euch selbst vergessen, wo ihr doch das Buch lest! Habt ihr denn keinen Verstand? 45   وَاسْتَعِينُوا بِالصَّبْرِ وَالصَّلَاةِ ۚ وَإِنَّهَا لَكَبِيرَةٌ إِلَّا عَلَى الْخَاشِعِينَ Transliteration 45:  WaistaAAeenoo bialssabri waalssalati wainnaha lakabeeratun illa AAala alkhashiAAeena Yusuf Ali 45:  Nay, seek (Allah's) help with patient perseverance and prayer: It is indeed hard, except to those who bring a lowly spirit,- Shakir 45:  And seek assistance through patience and prayer, and most surely it is a hard thing except for the humble ones, Pickthal 45:  Seek help in patience and prayer; and truly it is hard save for the humble-minded, Mohsin Khan: 45:  And seek help in patience and As-Salat (the prayer) and truly it is extremely heavy and hard except for Al-Khashi'un [i.e. the true believers in Allah - those who obey Allah with full submission, fear much from His Punishment, and believe in His Promise (Paradise) and in His Warnings (Hell)]. French 45:  Et cherchez secours dans l'endurance et la Salat: certes, la Salat est une lourde obligation, sauf pour les humbles, Spanish 45:  ¡Buscad ayuda en la paciencia y en la azalá! Sí, es algo difícil, pero no para los humildes, Indonesian 45:  Dan mintalah pertolongan (kepada Allah) dengan sabar dan (mengerjakan) shalat. Dan sesungguhnya yang demikian itu sungguh berat, kecuali bagi orang-orang yang khusyu', Melayu 45:  Dan mintalah pertolongan (kepada Allah) dengan jalan sabar dan mengerjakan sembahyang; dan sesungguhnya sembahyang itu amatlah berat kecuali kepada orang-orang yang khusyuk; German 45:  Und helft euch durch Geduld und Gebet; dies ist wahrlich schwer, außer für Demütige, 46   الَّذِينَ يَظُنُّونَ أَنَّهُم مُّلَاقُو رَبِّهِمْ وَأَنَّهُمْ إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ Transliteration 46:  Allatheena yathunnoona annahum mulaqoo rabbihim waannahum ilayhi rajiAAoona Yusuf Ali 46:  Who bear in mind the certainty that they are to meet their Lord, and that they are to return to Him. Shakir 46:  Who know that they shall meet their Lord and that they shall return to Him. Pickthal 46:  Who know that they will have to meet their Lord, and that unto Him they are returning. Mohsin Khan: 46:  (They are those) who are certain that they are going to meet their Lord, and that unto Him they are going to return. French 46:  qui ont la certitude de rencontrer leur Seigneur (après leur résurrection) et retourner à Lui seul. Spanish 46:  que cuentan con encontrar a su Señor y volver a Él. Indonesian 46:  (yaitu) orang-orang yang meyakini, bahwa mereka akan menemui Tuhannya, dan bahwa mereka akan kembali kepada-Nya. Melayu 46:  (Iaitu) mereka yang percaya dengan yakin bahawa mereka akan menemui Tuhan mereka, dan bahawa mereka akan kembali kepadaNya. German 46:  welche ahnen, daß sie ihrem Herrn begegnen und zu Ihm heimkehren werden. 47   يَا بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ اذْكُرُوا نِعْمَتِيَ الَّتِي أَنْعَمْتُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَأَنِّي فَضَّلْتُكُمْ عَلَى الْعَالَمِينَ Transliteration 47:  Ya banee israeela othkuroo niAAmatiya allatee anAAamtu AAalaykum waannee faddaltukum AAala alAAalameena Yusuf Ali 47:  Children of Israel! call to mind the (special) favour which I bestowed upon you, and that I preferred you to all other (for My Message). Shakir 47:  O children of Israel! call to mind My favor which I bestowed on you and that I made you excel the nations. Pickthal 47:  O Children of Israel! Remember My favour wherewith I favoured you and how I preferred you to (all) creatures. Mohsin Khan: 47:  O Children of Israel! Remember My Favour which I bestowed upon you and that I preferred you to the 'Alamin [mankind and jinn (of your time period, in the past)]. French 47:  Ô enfants d'Israël, rappelez-vous Mon bienfait dont Je vous ai comblés, (Rappelez-vous) que Je vous ai préférés à tous les peuples (de l'époque). Spanish 47:  ¡Hijos de Israel! Recordad la gracia que os dispensé y que os distinguí entre todos los pueblos. Indonesian 47:  Hai Bani Israil, ingatlah akan ni'mat-Ku yang telah Aku anugerahkan kepadamu dan (ingatlah pula) bahwasanya Aku telah melebihkan kamu atas segala umat . Melayu 47:  Wahai Bani Israil! Kenangkanlah nikmat-nikmatKu yang Aku telah kurniakan kepada kamu dan (ingatlah) bahawasanya Aku telah melebihkan (nenek-moyang) kamu (yang taat dahulu) atas orang-orang (yang ada pada zamannya). German 47:  O ihr Kinder Israels! Gedenkt Meiner Gnade, mit der Ich euch begnadete und (denkt daran,) daß Ich euch allen Welten vorgezogen habe. 48   وَاتَّقُوا يَوْمًا لَّا تَجْزِي نَفْسٌ عَن نَّفْسٍ شَيْئًا وَلَا يُقْبَلُ مِنْهَا شَفَاعَةٌ وَلَا يُؤْخَذُ مِنْهَا عَدْلٌ وَلَا هُمْ يُنصَرُونَ Transliteration 48:  Waittaqoo yawman la tajzee nafsun AAan nafsin shayan wala yuqbalu minha shafaAAatun wala yukhathu minha AAadlun wala hum yunsaroona Yusuf Ali 48:  Then guard yourselves against a day when one soul shall not avail another nor shall intercession be accepted for her, nor shall compensation be taken from her, nor shall anyone be helped (from outside). Shakir 48:  And be on your guard against a day when one soul shall not avail another in the least, neither shall intercession on its behalf be accepted, nor shall any compensation be taken from it, nor shall they be helped. Pickthal 48:  And guard yourselves against a day when no soul will in aught avail another, nor will intercession be accepted from it, nor will compensation be received from it, nor will they be helped. Mohsin Khan: 48:  And fear a Day (of Judgement) when a person shall not avail another, nor will intercession be accepted from him nor will compensation be taken from him nor will they be helped. French 48:  Et redoutez le jour où nulle âme ne suffira en quoi que ce soit à une autre; où l'on n'acceptera d'elle aucune intercession; et où on ne recevra d'elle aucune compensation. Et ils ne seront point secourus. Spanish 48:  Temed un día en que nadie pueda satisfacer nada por otro, ni se acepte la intercesión ajena, compensación ni auxilio. Indonesian 48:  Dan jagalah dirimu dari (azab) hari (kiamat, yang pada hari itu) seseorang tidak dapat membela orang lain, walau sedikitpun; dan (begitu pula) tidak diterima syafa'at dan tebusan daripadanya, dan tidaklah mereka akan ditolong. Melayu 48:  Dan peliharalah diri kamu dari (azab sengsara) hari (akhirat), yang padanya seseorang tidak dapat melepaskan orang lain (yang berdosa) sedikitpun (dari balasan azab) dan tidak diterima syafaat daripadanya dan tidak pula diambil daripadanya sebarang tebusan dan mereka (yang bersalah itu) tidak akan diberi sebarang pertolongan. German 48:  Und meidet den Tag, an dem keine Seele für eine andere bürgen kann und von ihr weder Fürsprache noch Lösegeld angenommen wird; und ihnen wird nicht geholfen. 49   وَإِذْ نَجَّيْنَاكُم مِّنْ آلِ فِرْعَوْنَ يَسُومُونَكُمْ سُوءَ الْعَذَابِ يُذَبِّحُونَ أَبْنَاءَكُمْ وَيَسْتَحْيُونَ نِسَاءَكُمْ ۚ وَفِي ذَ‌ٰلِكُم بَلَاءٌ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ عَظِيمٌ Transliteration 49:  Waith najjaynakum min ali firAAawna yasoomoonakum sooa alAAathabi yuthabbihoona abnaakum wayastahyoona nisaakum wafee thalikum balaon min rabbikum AAatheemun Yusuf Ali 49:  And remember, We delivered you from the people of Pharaoh: They set you hard tasks and punishments, slaughtered your sons and let your women-folk live; therein was a tremendous trial from your Lord. Shakir 49:  And when We delivered you from Firon's people, who subjected you to severe torment, killing your sons and sparing your women, and in this there was a great trial from your Lord. Pickthal 49:  And (remember) when We did deliver you from Pharaoh's folk, who were afflicting you with dreadful torment, slaying your sons and sparing your women: that was a tremendous trial from your Lord. Mohsin Khan: 49:  And (remember) when We delivered you from Fir'aun's (Pharaoh) people, who were afflicting you with a horrible torment, killing your sons and sparing your women, and therein was a mighty trial from your Lord. French 49:  Et [rappelez-vous], lorsque Nous vous avons délivrés des gens de Pharaon, qui vous infligeaient le pire châtiment: en égorgeant vos fils et épargnant vos femmes. C'était là une grande épreuve de la part de votre Seigneur. Spanish 49:  Y cuando os salvamos de las gentes de Faraón, que os sometían a duro castigo, degollando a vuestros hijos varones y dejando con vida a vuestras mujeres. Con esto os probó vuestro Señor duramente. Indonesian 49:  Dan (ingatlah) ketika Kami selamatkan kamu dari (Fir'aun) dan pengikut-pengikutnya; mereka menimpakan kepadamu siksaan yang seberat-beratnya, mereka menyembelih anak-anakmu yang laki-laki dan membiarkan hidup anak-anakmu yang perempuan. Dan pada yang demikian itu terdapat cobaan-cobaan yang besar dari Tuhanmu. Melayu 49:  Dan (kenangkanlah) ketika Kami selamatkan kamu dari Firaun dan orang-orangnya, yang sentiasa menyeksa kamu dengan seksa yang seburuk-buruknya; mereka menyembelih anak-anak lelaki kamu dan membiarkan hidup anak-anak perempuan kamu; sedang kejadian yang demikian itu mengandungi bala bencana dan cubaan yang besar dari Tuhan kamu. German 49:  Und denkt daran, daß Wir euch vor den Leuten des Pharao retteten, die euch schlimme Pein zufügten, indem sie eure Söhne abschlachteten und eure Frauen am Leben ließen. Darin lag eine schwere Prüfung von eurem Herrn. 50   وَإِذْ فَرَقْنَا بِكُمُ الْبَحْرَ فَأَنجَيْنَاكُمْ وَأَغْرَقْنَا آلَ فِرْعَوْنَ وَأَنتُمْ تَنظُرُونَ Transliteration 50:  Waith faraqna bikumu albahra faanjaynakum waaghraqna ala firAAawna waantum tanthuroona Yusuf Ali 50:  And remember We divided the sea for you and saved you and drowned Pharaoh's people within your very sight. Shakir 50:  And when We parted the sea for you, so We saved you and drowned the followers of Firon and you watched by. Pickthal 50:  And when We brought you through the sea and rescued you, and drowned the folk of Pharaoh in your sight. Mohsin Khan: 50:  And (remember) when We separated the sea for you and saved you and drowned Fir'aun's (Pharaoh) people while you were looking (at them, when the sea-water covered them). French 50:  Et [rappelez-vous], lorsque Nous avons fendu la mer pour vous donner passage!.. Nous vous avons donc délivrés, et noyé les gens de Pharaon, tandis que vous regardiez. Spanish 50:  Y cuando os separamos las aguas del mar y os salvamos, anegando a las gentes de Faraón en vuestra presencia. Indonesian 50:  Dan (ingatlah), ketika Kami belah laut untukmu, lalu Kami selamatkan kamu dan Kami tenggelamkan (Fir'aun) dan pengikut-pengikutnya sedang kamu sendiri menyaksikan . Melayu 50:  Dan (kenangkanlah) ketika kami belahkan laut (Merah) untuk kamu lalui (kerana melarikan diri dari angkara Firaun), maka Kami selamatkan kamu dan Kami tenggelamkan Firaun bersama-sama tenteranya, sedang kamu semua menyaksikannya. German 50:  Und denkt daran, daß Wir für euch das Meer teilten und euch retteten, während Wir die Leute des Pharao vor euren Augen ertrinken ließen. 51   وَإِذْ وَاعَدْنَا مُوسَىٰ أَرْبَعِينَ لَيْلَةً ثُمَّ اتَّخَذْتُمُ الْعِجْلَ مِن بَعْدِهِ وَأَنتُمْ ظَالِمُونَ Transliteration 51:  Waith waAAadna moosa arbaAAeena laylatan thumma ittakhathtumu alAAijla min baAAdihi waantum thalimoona Yusuf Ali 51:  And remember We appointed forty nights for Moses, and in his absence ye took the calf (for worship), and ye did grievous wrong. Shakir 51:  And when We appointed a time of forty nights with Musa, then you took the calf (for a god) after him and you were unjust. Pickthal 51:  And when We did appoint for Moses forty nights (of solitude), and then ye chose the calf, when he had gone from you, and were wrong-doers. Mohsin Khan: 51:  And (remember) when We appointed for Musa (Moses) forty nights, and (in his absence) you took the calf (for worship), and you were Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers). French 51:  Et [rappelez-vous], lorsque Nous donnâmes rendez-vous à Moïse pendant quarante nuits!.. Puis en son absence vous avez pris le Veau pour idole alors que vous étiez injustes (à l'égard de vous mêmes en adorant autre qu'Allah). Spanish 51:  Y cuando nos dimos cita con Moisés durante cuarenta días. Luego, cuando se fue, cogisteis el ternero, obrando impíamente. Indonesian 51:  Dan (ingatlah), ketika Kami berjanji kepada Musa (memberikan Taurat, sesudah) empat puluh malam, lalu kamu menjadikan anak lembu (sembahanmu) sepeninggalnya dan kamu adalah orang-orang yang zalim. Melayu 51:  Dan (kenangkanlah) ketika kami berjanji kepada Nabi Musa (untuk memberi Taurat kepadanya sesudah dia bersiap selama) empat puluh malam. Kemudian, setelah ia pergi, kamu menyembah (patung) anak lembu dan kamu sebenarnya orang-orang yang zalim (terhadap diri sendiri). German 51:  Und denkt daran, daß Wir Uns mit Moses vierzig Nächte verabredeten, als ihr dann hinter seinem Rücken das Kalb nahmt und damit Unrecht begingt. 52   ثُمَّ عَفَوْنَا عَنكُم مِّن بَعْدِ ذَ‌ٰلِكَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ Transliteration 52:  Thumma AAafawna AAankum min baAAdi thalika laAAallakum tashkuroona Yusuf Ali 52:  Even then We did forgive you; there was a chance for you to be grateful. Shakir 52:  Then We pardoned you after that so that you might give thanks. Pickthal 52:  Then, even after that, We pardoned you in order that ye might give thanks. Mohsin Khan: 52:  Then after that We forgave you so that you might be grateful. French 52:  Mais en dépit de cela Nous vous pardonnâmes, afin que vous reconnaissiez (Nos bienfaits à votre égard). Spanish 52:  Luego, después de eso, os perdonamos. Quizás, así, fuerais agradecidos. Indonesian 52:  Kemudian sesudah itu Kami ma'afkan kesalahanmu, agar kamu bersyukur. Melayu 52:  Kemudian sesudah itu kami maafkan kesalahan kamu, supaya kamu bersyukur. German 52:  Alsdann vergaben Wir euch, auf daß ihr dankbar sein möget. 53   وَإِذْ آتَيْنَا مُوسَى الْكِتَابَ وَالْفُرْقَانَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُونَ Transliteration 53:  Waith atayna moosa alkitaba waalfurqana laAAallakum tahtadoona Yusuf Ali 53:  And remember We gave Moses the Scripture and the Criterion (Between right and wrong): There was a chance for you to be guided aright. Shakir 53:  And when We gave Musa the Book and the distinction that you might walk aright. Pickthal 53:  And when We gave unto Moses the Scripture and the criterion (of right and wrong), that ye might be led aright. Mohsin Khan: 53:  And (remember) when We gave Musa (Moses) the Scripture [the Taurat (Torah)] and the criterion (of right and wrong) so that you may be guided aright." French 53:  Et [rappelez-vous], lorsque Nous avons donné à Moïse le Livre et le Discernement afin que vous soyez guidés. Spanish 53:  Y cuando dimos a Moisés la Escritura y el Criterio. Quizás, así, fuerais bien dirigidos. Indonesian 53:  Dan (ingatlah), ketika Kami berikan kepada Musa Al Kitab (Taurat) dan keterangan yang membedakan antara yang benar dan yang salah, agar kamu mendapat petunjuk. Melayu 53:  Dan (kenangkanlah) ketika Kami turunkan kepada Nabi Musa kitab (Taurat) dan keterangan-keterangan (yang terkandung di dalamnya, yang membezakan antara yang benar dengan yang salah), supaya kamu mendapat petunjuk. German 53:  Und denkt daran, daß Wir Moses das Buch gaben, sowie die Unterscheidung, auf daß ihr rechtgeleitet werden möget. 54   وَإِذْ قَالَ مُوسَىٰ لِقَوْمِهِ يَا قَوْمِ إِنَّكُمْ ظَلَمْتُمْ أَنفُسَكُم بِاتِّخَاذِكُمُ الْعِجْلَ فَتُوبُوا إِلَىٰ بَارِئِكُمْ فَاقْتُلُوا أَنفُسَكُمْ ذَ‌ٰلِكُمْ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ عِندَ بَارِئِكُمْ فَتَابَ عَلَيْكُمْ ۚ إِنَّهُ هُوَ التَّوَّابُ الرَّحِيمُ Transliteration 54:  Waith qala moosa liqawmihi ya qawmi innakum thalamtum anfusakum biittikhathikumu alAAijla fatooboo ila bariikum faoqtuloo anfusakum thalikum khayrun lakum AAinda bariikum fataba AAalaykum innahu huwa alttawwabu alrraheemu Yusuf Ali 54:  And remember Moses said to his people: "O my people! Ye have indeed wronged yourselves by your worship of the calf: So turn (in repentance) to your Maker, and slay yourselves (the wrong-doers); that will be better for you in the sight of your Maker." Then He turned towards you (in forgiveness): For He is Oft- Returning, Most Merciful. Shakir 54:  And when Musa said to his people: O my people! you have surely been unjust to yourselves by taking the calf (for a god), therefore turn to your Creator (penitently), so kill your people, that is best for you with your Creator: so He turned to you (mercifully), for surely He is the Oft-returning (to mercy), the Merciful. Pickthal 54:  And when Moses said unto his people: O my people! Ye have wronged yourselves by your choosing of the calf (for worship) so turn in penitence to your Creator, and kill (the guilty) yourselves. That will be best for you with your Creator and He will relent toward you. Lo! He is the Relenting, the Merciful. Mohsin Khan: 54:  And (remember) when Musa (Moses) said to his people: "O my people! Verily, you have wronged yourselves by worshipping the calf. So turn in repentance to your Creator and kill yourselves (the innocent kill the wrongdoers among you), that will be better for you with your Creator." Then He accepted your repentance. Truly, He is the One Who accepts repentance, the Most Merciful. French 54:  Et [rappelez-vous], lorsque Moïse dit à son peuple: ‹Ô mon peuple, certes vous vous êtes fait du tort à vous-mêmes en prenant le Veau pour idole. Revenez donc à votre Créateur; puis, tuez donc les coupables vous- mêmes: ce serait mieux pour vous, auprès de votre Créateur›!... C'est ainsi qu'Il agréa votre repentir; car c'est Lui, certes, le Repentant et le Miséricordieux! Spanish 54:  Y cuando Moisés dijo a su pueblo: ¡Pueblo! Habéis sido injustos con vosotros mismos al coger el ternero. ¡Volveos a vuestro Creador y mataos unos a otros.! Esto es mejor para vosotros a los ojos de vuestro Creador. Así se aplacará. Él es el Indulgente, el Misericordioso". Indonesian 54:  Dan (ingatlah), ketika Musa berkata kepada kaumnya: "Hai kaumku, sesungguhnya kamu telah menganiaya dirimu sendiri karena kamu telah menjadikan anak lembu (sembahanmu), maka bertaubatlah kepada Tuhan yang menjadikan kamu dan bunuhlah dirimu . Hal itu adalah lebih baik bagimu pada sisi Tuhan yang menjadikan kamu; maka Allah akan menerima taubatmu. Sesungguhnya Dialah Yang Maha Penerima taubat lagi Maha Penyayang." Melayu 54:  Dan (kenangkanlah) ketika Nabi Musa berkata kepada kaumnya: Wahai kaumku! Sesungguhnya kamu telah menganiaya diri kamu sendiri dengan sebab kamu menyembah patung anak lembu itu, maka bertaubatlah kamu kepada Allah yang menjadikan kamu; iaitu bunuhlah diri kamu. Yang demikian itu lebih baik bagi kamu di sisi Allah yang menjadikan kamu, supaya Allah menerima taubat kamu itu. Sesungguhnya Dialah Yang Maha Pengampun (Penerima taubat), lagi Maha Mengasihani. German 54:  "Und da sagte Moses zu seinen Leuten: ""O meine Leute! Ihr habt auf euch selbst eine schwere Schuld geladen, indem ihr euch das Kalb nahmt; so kehrt reumütig zu eurem Schöpfer zurück und tötet selbst eure Schuldigen. Dies ist für euch besser bei eurem Schöpfer."" Alsdann vergab Er euch; wahrlich, Er ist der Allvergebende, der Barmherzige. 55   وَإِذْ قُلْتُمْ يَا مُوسَىٰ لَن نُّؤْمِنَ لَكَ حَتَّىٰ نَرَى اللَّهَ جَهْرَةً فَأَخَذَتْكُمُ الصَّاعِقَةُ وَأَنتُمْ تَنظُرُونَ Transliteration 55:  Waith qultum ya moosa lan numina laka hatta nara Allaha jahratan faakhathatkumu alssaAAiqatu waantum tanthuroona Yusuf Ali 55:  And remember ye said: "O Moses! We shall never believe in thee until we see Allah manifestly," but ye were dazed with thunder and lighting even as ye looked on. Shakir 55:  And when you said: O Musa! we will not believe in you until we see Allah manifestly, so the punishment overtook you while you looked on. Pickthal 55:  And when ye said: O Moses! We will not believe in thee till we see Allah plainly; and even while ye gazed the lightning seized you. Mohsin Khan: 55:  And (remember) when you said: "O Musa (Moses)! We shall never believe in you until we see Allah plainly." But you were seized with a thunder-bolt (lightning) while you were looking. French 55:  Et [rappelez-vous], lorsque vous dites: ‹Ô Moïse, nous ne te croirons qu'après avoir vu Allah clairement›!... Alors la foudre vous saisit tandis que vous regardiez. Spanish 55:  Y cuando dijisteis: "¡Moisés! No creeremos en ti hasta que veamos a Alá claramente". Y el Rayo se os llevó, viéndolo vosotros venir. Indonesian 55:  Dan (ingatlah), ketika kamu berkata: "Hai Musa, kami tidak akan beriman kepadamu sebelum kami melihat Allah dengan terang", karena itu kamu disambar halilintar, sedang kamu menyaksikannya . Melayu 55:  Dan (kenangkanlah) ketika kamu berkata: Wahai Musa! Kami tidak akan beriman kepadamu sehingga kami dapat melihat Allah dengan terang (dengan mata kepala kami). Maka kerana itu kamu disambar petir, sedang kamu semua melihatnya. German 55:  ""Und als ihr sagtet: ""O Moses! Wir werden dir gewiß nicht glauben, bis wir Allah unverhüllt sehen"", da traf euch der Blitzschlag, während ihr zuschautet. 56   ثُمَّ بَعَثْنَاكُم مِّن بَعْدِ مَوْتِكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ Transliteration 56:  Thumma baAAathnakum min baAAdi mawtikum laAAallakum tashkuroona Yusuf Ali 56:  Then We raised you up after your death: Ye had the chance to be grateful. Shakir 56:  Then We raised you up after your death that you may give thanks. Pickthal 56:  Then We revived you after your extinction, that ye might give thanks. Mohsin Khan: 56:  Then We raised you up after your death, so that you might be grateful. French 56:  Puis Nous vous ressuscitâmes après votre mort afin que vous soyez reconnaissants. Spanish 56:  Luego, os resucitamos después de muertos. Quizás, así, fuerais agradecidos. Indonesian 56:  Setelah itu Kami bangkitkan kamu sesudah kamu mati, supaya kamu bersyukur. Melayu 56:  Kemudian Kami bangkitkan kamu sesudah kamu mati (atau pengsan dari sambaran petir itu), supaya kamu bersyukur. German 56:  "Dann erweckten Wir euch wieder nach eurem Tode, auf daß ihr dankbar sein möget, 57   وَظَلَّلْنَا عَلَيْكُمُ الْغَمَامَ وَأَنزَلْنَا عَلَيْكُمُ الْمَنَّ وَالسَّلْوَىٰ ۖ كُلُوا مِن طَيِّبَاتِ مَا رَزَقْنَاكُمْ ۖ وَمَا ظَلَمُونَا وَلَـٰكِن كَانُوا أَنفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ Transliteration 57:  Wathallalna AAalaykumu alghamama waanzalna AAalaykumu almanna waalssalwa kuloo min tayyibati ma razaqnakum wama thalamoona walakin kanoo anfusahum yathlimoona Yusuf Ali 57:  And We gave you the shade of clouds and sent down to you Manna and quails, saying: "Eat of the good things We have provided for you:" (But they rebelled); to us they did no harm, but they harmed their own souls. Shakir 57:  And We made the clouds to give shade over you and We sent to you manna and quails: Eat of the good things that We have given you; and they did not do Us any harm, but they made their own souls suffer the loss. Pickthal 57:  And We caused the white cloud to overshadow you and sent down on you the manna and the quails, (saying): Eat of the good things wherewith We have provided you - they wronged Us not, but they did wrong themselves. Mohsin Khan: 57:  And We shaded you with clouds and sent down on you Al-Manna and the quails, (saying): "Eat of the good lawful things We have provided for you," (but they rebelled). And they did not wrong Us but they wronged themselves. French 57:  Et Nous vous couvrîmes de l'ombre d'un nuage, et fîmes descendre sur vous la manne et les cailles: - ‹Mangez des délices que Nous vous avons attribués!› - Ce n'est pas à Nous qu'ils firent du tort, mais ils se firent tort à eux-mêmes. Spanish 57:  Hicimos que se os nublara y que descendieran sobre vosotros el maná y las codornices: "¡Comed de las cosas buenas de que os hemos proveído!" No fueron injustos con Nosotros, sino que lo fueron consigo mismos. Indonesian 57:  Dan Kami naungi kamu dengan awan, dan Kami turunkan kepadamu "manna" dan "salwa" . Melayu 57:  Dan Kami telah menaungi kamu dengan awan (dari panas matahari di padang pasir) dan Kami turunkan kepada kamu "Manna" dan "Salwa", (serta Kami berfirman): Makanlah dari makanan-makanan yang baik yang Kami telah kurniakan kepada kamu dan tidaklah mereka menganiaya Kami (sebab mereka kufurkan nikmat itu), tetapi sebenarnya mereka adalah menganiaya diri sendiri. German 57:  "und Wir ließen die Wolken über euch Schatten werfen und sandten euch Manna und Wachteln herab: ""Esset von den guten Dingen, die Wir euch gegeben haben."" Und sie schadeten Uns nicht; vielmehr schadeten sie sich selbst. 58   وَإِذْ قُلْنَا ادْخُلُوا هَـٰذِهِ الْقَرْيَةَ فَكُلُوا مِنْهَا حَيْثُ شِئْتُمْ رَغَدًا وَادْخُلُوا الْبَابَ سُجَّدًا وَقُولُوا حِطَّةٌ نَّغْفِرْ لَكُمْ خَطَايَاكُمْ ۚ وَسَنَزِيدُ الْمُحْسِنِينَ Transliteration 58:  Waith qulna odkhuloo hathihi alqaryata fakuloo minha haythu shitum raghadan waodkhuloo albaba sujjadan waqooloo hittatun naghfir lakum khatayakum wasanazeedu almuhsineena Yusuf Ali 58:  And remember We said: "Enter this town, and eat of the plenty therein as ye wish; but enter the gate with humility, in posture and in words, and We shall forgive you your faults and increase (the portion of) those who do good." Shakir 58:  And when We said: Enter this city, then eat from it a plenteous (food) wherever you wish, and enter the gate making obeisance, and say, forgiveness. We will forgive you your wrongs and give more to those who do good (to others). Pickthal 58:  And when We said: Go into this township and eat freely of that which is therein, and enter the gate prostrate, and say: "Repentance." We will forgive you your sins and will increase (reward) for the right-doers. Mohsin Khan: 58:  And (remember) when We said: "Enter this town (Jerusalem) and eat bountifully therein with pleasure and delight wherever you wish, and enter the gate in prostration (or bowing with humility) and say: 'Forgive us,' and We shall forgive you your sins and shall increase (reward) for the good-doers." French 58:  Et [rappelez-vous], lorsque Nous dîmes: ‹Entrez dans cette ville, et mangez-y à l'envie où il vous plaira; mais entrez par la porte en vous prosternant et demandez la ‹rémission› (de vos péchés); Nous vous pardonnerons vos fautes si vous faites cela et donnerons davantage de récompense pour les bienfaisants. Spanish 58:  Y cuando dijimos: "¡Entrad en esta ciudad, y comed donde y cuando queráis de lo que en ella haya! ¡Entrad por la puerta prosternándoos y decid '¡Perdón!'" Os perdonaremos vuestros pecados y daremos más a quienes hagan el bien. Indonesian 58:  Dan (ingatlah), ketika Kami berfirman: "Masuklah kamu ke negeri ini (Baitul Maqdis), dan makanlah dari hasil buminya, yang banyak lagi enak di mana yang kamu sukai, dan masukilah pintu gerbangnya sambil bersujud , dan katakanlah: "Bebaskanlah kami dari dosa", niscaya Kami ampuni kesalahan-kesalahanmu. Dan kelak Kami akan menambah (pemberian Kami) kepada orang-orang yang berbuat baik". Melayu 58:  Dan (kenangkanlah) ketika Kami berfirman: Masuklah kamu ke bandar ini, kemudian makanlah dari benda-benda yang ada di dalamnya dengan sepuas-puasnya, apa sahaja yang kamu sukai dan masuklah kamu melalui pintunya dengan tunduk (merendah diri) dan (mintalah ampun dengan) berkata: Ya Allah ampunilah dosa kami supaya kami ampunkan kesalahan-kesalahan kamu dan Kami akan tambah pula pahala orang-orang yang berbuat baik. German 58:  ""Und Wir sagten: ""Tretet ein in diese Stadt und eßt von dort, wo immer ihr wollt nach Herzenslust, und tretet durch das Tor ein, indem ihr euch niederwerft und sagt: »Vergebung!«, auf daß Wir euch eure Missetaten vergeben. Und Wir werden den Rechtschaffenen mehr geben."" 59   فَبَدَّلَ الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا قَوْلًا غَيْرَ الَّذِي قِيلَ لَهُمْ فَأَنزَلْنَا عَلَى الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا رِجْزًا مِّنَ السَّمَاءِ بِمَا كَانُوا يَفْسُقُونَ Transliteration 59:  Fabaddala allatheena thalamoo qawlan ghayra allathee qeela lahum faanzalna AAala allatheena thalamoo rijzan mina alssamai bima kanoo yafsuqoona Yusuf Ali 59:  But the transgressors changed the word from that which had been given them; so We sent on the transgressors a plague from heaven, for that they infringed (Our command) repeatedly. Shakir 59:  But those who were unjust changed it for a saying other than that which had been spoken to them, so We sent upon those who were unjust a pestilence from heaven, because they transgressed. Pickthal 59:  But those who did wrong changed the word which had been told them for another saying, and We sent down upon the evil-doers wrath from heaven for their evil-doing. Mohsin Khan: 59:  But those who did wrong changed the word from that which had been told to them for another, so We sent upon the wrong-doers Rijz (a punishment) from the heaven because of their rebelling against Allah's obedience. (Tafsir At-Tabari). French 59:  Mais, à ces paroles, les pervers en substituèrent d'autres, et pour les punir de leur fourberie Nous leur envoyâmes du ciel un châtiment avilissant. Spanish 59:  Pero los impíos cambiaron por otras las palabras que se les habían dicho e hicimos bajar contra los impíos un castigo del cielo por haber obrado perversamente. Indonesian 59:  Lalu orang-orang yang zalim mengganti perintah dengan (mengerjakan) yang tidak diperintahkan kepada mereka. Sebab itu Kami timpakan atas orang-orang yang zalim itu siksa dari langit, karena mereka berbuat fasik. Melayu 59:  Kemudian orang-orang yang zalim (penderhaka) itu mengubah perkataan (perintah Kami) yang dikatakan kepada mereka dengan melakukan sebaliknya; maka Kami turunkan ke atas orang-orang yang zalim itu bala bencana dari langit, dengan sebab mereka sentiasa berlaku fasik (menderhaka). German 59:  "Doch die Ungerechten vertauschen das Wort mit einem, das ihnen nicht gesagt wurde. Da sandten Wir auf die Ungerechten eine Strafe vom Himmel herab, weil sie gefrevelt hatten. 60    ۞ وَإِذِ اسْتَسْقَىٰ مُوسَىٰ لِقَوْمِهِ فَقُلْنَا اضْرِب بِّعَصَاكَ الْحَجَرَ ۖ فَانفَجَرَتْ مِنْهُ اثْنَتَا عَشْرَةَ عَيْنًا ۖ قَدْ عَلِمَ كُلُّ أُنَاسٍ مَّشْرَبَهُمْ ۖ كُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا مِن رِّزْقِ اللَّهِ وَلَا تَعْثَوْا فِي الْأَرْضِ مُفْسِدِينَ Transliteration 60:  Waithi istasqa moosa liqawmihi faqulna idrib biAAasaka alhajara fainfajarat minhu ithnata AAashrata AAaynan qad AAalima kullu onasin mashrabahum kuloo waishraboo min rizqi Allahi wala taAAthaw fee alardi mufsideena Yusuf Ali 60:  And remember Moses prayed for water for his people; We said: "Strike the rock with thy staff." Then gushed forth therefrom twelve springs. Each group knew its own place for water. So eat and drink of the sustenance provided by Allah, and do no evil nor mischief on the (face of the) earth. Shakir 60:  And when Musa prayed for drink for his people, We said: Strike the rock with your staff So there gushed from it twelve springs; each tribe knew its drinking place: Eat and drink of the provisions of Allah and do not act corruptly in the land, making mischief. Pickthal 60:  And when Moses asked for water for his people, We said: Smite with thy staff the rock. And there gushed out therefrom twelve springs (so that) each tribe knew their drinking-place. Eat and drink of that which Allah hath provided, and do not act corruptly, making mischief in the earth. Mohsin Khan: 60:  And (remember) when Musa (Moses) asked for water for his people, We said: "Strike the stone with your stick." Then gushed forth therefrom twelve springs. Each (group of) people knew its own place for water. "Eat and drink of that which Allah has provided and do not act corruptly, making mischief on the earth." French 60:  Et [rappelez-vous], quand Moïse demanda de l'eau pour désaltérer son peuple, c'est alors que Nous dîmes: ‹Frappe le rocher avec ton bâton.› Et tout d'un coup, douze sources en jaillirent, et certes, chaque tribu sut où s'abreuver! - ‹Mangez et buvez de ce qu'Allah vous accorde; et ne semez pas de troubles sur la terre comme des fauteurs de désordre›. Spanish 60:  Y cuando Moisés pidió agua para su pueblo. Dijimos: "¡Golpea la roca con tu vara!" Y brotaron de ella doce manantiales. Todos sabían de cuál debían beber. "¡Comed y bebed del sustento de Alá y no obréis mal en la tierra corrompiendo!" Indonesian 60:  Dan (ingatlah) ketika Musa memohon air untuk kaumnya, lalu Kami berfirman: "Pukullah batu itu dengan tongkatmu". Lalu memancarlah daripadanya dua belas mata air. Sungguh tiap-tiap suku telah mengetahui tempat minumnya (masing-masing). Makan dan minumlah rezki (yang diberikan) Allah, dan janganlah kamu berkeliaran di muka bumi dengan berbuat kerusakan. Melayu 60:  Dan (ingatlah) ketika Nabi Musa memohon supaya diberi air untuk kaumnya, maka Kami berfirman: Pukullah batu itu dengan tongkatmu, (dia pun memukulnya), lalu terpancutlah dari batu itu dua belas mata air; sesungguhnya tiap-tiap satu puak (di antara mereka) telah mengetahui tempat minumnya masing-masing. (Dan Kami berfirman): Makanlah dan minumlah kamu dari rezeki Allah itu dan janganlah kamu merebakkan bencana kerosakan di muka bumi. German 60:  "Und als Moses für sein Volk um Wasser bat, da sagten Wir: ""Schlag mit deinem Stock auf den Felsen."" Da sprudelten aus ihm zwölf Quellen heraus. So kannte jeder Stamm seine Trinkstelle. ""Esset und trinkt von dem, was Allah euch gegeben hat, und richtet auf Erden kein Unheil an."" 61   وَإِذْ قُلْتُمْ يَا مُوسَىٰ لَن نَّصْبِرَ عَلَىٰ طَعَامٍ وَاحِدٍ فَادْعُ لَنَا رَبَّكَ يُخْرِجْ لَنَا مِمَّا تُنبِتُ الْأَرْضُ مِن بَقْلِهَا وَقِثَّائِهَا وَفُومِهَا وَعَدَسِهَا وَبَصَلِهَا ۖ قَالَ أَتَسْتَبْدِلُونَ الَّذِي هُوَ أَدْنَىٰ بِالَّذِي هُوَ خَيْرٌ ۚ اهْبِطُوا مِصْرًا فَإِنَّ لَكُم مَّا سَأَلْتُمْ ۗ وَضُرِبَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ الذِّلَّةُ وَالْمَسْكَنَةُ وَبَاءُوا بِغَضَبٍ مِّنَ اللَّهِ ۗ ذَ‌ٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا يَكْفُرُونَ بِآيَاتِ اللَّهِ وَيَقْتُلُونَ النَّبِيِّينَ بِغَيْرِ الْحَقِّ ۗ ذَ‌ٰلِكَ بِمَا عَصَوا وَّكَانُوا يَعْتَدُونَ Transliteration 61:  Waith qultum ya moosa lan nasbira AAala taAAamin wahidin faodAAu lana rabbaka yukhrij lana mimma tunbitu alardu min baqliha waqiththaiha wafoomiha waAAadasiha wabasaliha qala atastabdiloona allathee huwa adna biallathee huwa khayrun ihbitoo misran fainna lakum ma saaltum waduribat AAalayhimu alththillatu waalmaskanatu wabaoo bighadabin mina Allahi thalika biannahum kanoo yakfuroona biayati Allahi wayaqtuloona alnnabiyyeena bighayri alhaqqi thalika bima AAasaw wakanoo yaAAtadoona Yusuf Ali 61:  And remember ye said: "O Moses! we cannot endure one kind of food (always); so beseech thy Lord for us to produce for us of what the earth groweth, -its pot-herbs, and cucumbers, Its garlic, lentils, and onions." He said: "Will ye exchange the better for the worse? Go ye down to any town, and ye shall find what ye want!" They were covered with humiliation and misery; they drew on themselves the wrath of Allah. This because they went on rejecting the Signs of Allah and slaying His Messengers without just cause. This because they rebelled and went on transgressing. Shakir 61:  And when you said: O Musa! we cannot bear with one food, therefore pray Lord on our behalf to bring forth for us out of what the earth grows, of its herbs and its cucumbers and its garlic and its lentils and its onions. He said: Will you exchange that which is better for that which is worse? Enter a city, so you will have what you ask for. And abasement and humiliation were brought down upon them, and they became deserving of Allah's wrath; this was so because they disbelieved in the communications of Allah and killed the prophets unjustly; this was so because they disobeyed and exceeded the limits. Pickthal 61:  And when ye said: O Moses! We are weary of one kind of food; so call upon thy Lord for us that He bring forth for us of that which the earth groweth - of its herbs and its cucumbers and its corn and its lentils and its onions. He said: Would ye exchange that which is higher for that which is lower? Go down to settled country, thus ye shall get that which ye demand. And humiliation and wretchedness were stamped upon them and they were visited with wrath from Allah. That was because they disbelieved in Allah's revelations and slew the prophets wrongfully. That was for their disobedience and transgression. Mohsin Khan: 61:  And (remember) when you said, "O Musa (Moses)! We cannot endure one kind of food. So invoke your Lord for us to bring forth for us of what the earth grows, its herbs, its cucumbers, its Fum (wheat or garlic), its lentils and its onions." He said, "Would you exchange that which is better for that which is lower? Go you down to any town and you shall find what you want!" And they were covered with humiliation and misery, and they drew on themselves the Wrath of Allah. That was because they used to disbelieve the Ayat (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations etc.) of Allah and killed the Prophets wrongfully. That was because they disobeyed and used to transgress the bounds (in their disobedience to Allah, i.e. commit crimes and sins). French 61:  Et [rappelez-vous], quand vous dîtes: ‹Ô Moïse, nous ne pouvons plus tolérer une seule nourriture. Prie donc ton Seigneur pour qu'Il nous fasse sortir de la terre ce qu'elle fait pousser, de ses légumes, ses concombres, son ail (ou blé), ses lentilles et ses oignons!› - Il vous répondit: ‹Voulez-vous échanger le meilleur pour le moins bon? Descendez donc à n'importe quelle ville; vous y trouverez certainement ce que vous demandez!›. L'avilissement et la misère s'abattirent sur eux; ils encoururent la colère d'Allah. Cela est parce qu'ils reniaient les révélations d'Allah, et qu'ils tuaient sans droit les prophètes. Cela parce qu'ils désobéissaient et transgressaient. Spanish 61:  Y cuando dijisteis: "¡Moisés! No podremos soportar una sola clase de alimento. ¡Pide a tu Señor de parte nuestra que nos saque algo de lo que la tierra produce: verduras, pepinos, ajos, lentejas y cebollas!" Dijo: "¿Vais a cambiar lo que es mejor por algo peor? ¡Bajad a Egipto y hallaréis lo que pedís!" La humillación y la miseria se abatieron sobre ellos e incurrieron en la ira de Alá. Porque no habían prestado fe a los signos de Alá y habían dado muerte a los profetas sin justificación. Porque habían desobedecido y violado la ley. Indonesian 61:  Dan (ingatlah), ketika kamu berkata: "Hai Musa, kami tidak bisa sabar (tahan) dengan satu macam makanan saja. Sebab itu mohonkanlah untuk kami kepada Tuhanmu, agar Dia mengeluarkan bagi kami dari apa yang ditumbuhkan bumi, yaitu: sayur-mayur, ketimun, bawang putih, kacang adas dan bawang merahnya". Musa berkata: "Maukah kamu mengambil sesuatu yang rendah sebagai pengganti yang lebih baik? Pergilah kamu ke suatu kota, pasti kamu memperoleh apa yang kamu minta". Lalu ditimpakanlah kepada mereka nista dan kehinaan, serta mereka mendapat kemurkaan dari Allah. Hal itu (terjadi) karena mereka selalu mengingkari ayat-ayat Allah dan membunuh para nabi yang memang tidak dibenarkan. Demikian itu (terjadi) karena mereka selalu berbuat durhaka dan melampaui batas. Melayu 61:  Dan (kenangkanlah) ketika kamu berkata: Wahai Musa, kami tidak sabar (sudah jemu) dengan makanan yang semacam sahaja; maka pohonkanlah kepada Tuhanmu untuk kami, supaya dikeluarkan bagi kami sebahagian dari apa yang tumbuh di bumi; dari sayur-sayurannya dan mentimunnya dan bawang putihnya dan adas (kacang dalnya), serta bawang merahnya. Nabi Musa menjawab: Adakah kamu mahu menukar sesuatu yang kurang baik dengan meninggalkan yang lebih baik? Turunlah kamu ke bandar kerana di sana kamu boleh dapati apa yang kamu minta itu dan mereka ditimpakan dengan kehinaan dan kepapaan dan sudah sepatutnya mereka mendapat kemurkaan dari Allah. Yang demikian itu ialah disebabkan mereka kufur (mengingkari) ayat-ayat Allah (perintah-perintah dan mukjizat-mukjizat yang membuktikan kebesaranNya); dan mereka pula membunuh Nabi-nabi dengan tidak ada alasan yang benar. Yang demikian itu ialah disebabkan mereka menderhaka dan mereka pula sentiasa menceroboh. German 61:  ""Und als ihr sagtet: "" O Moses, wir können uns mit einer einzigen Speise nicht mehr zufriedengeben. Bitte also deinen Herrn für uns, daß Er uns (Speise) von dem hervorbringe, was die Erde wachsen läßt, (von) Kräutern, Gurken, Knoblauch, Linsen und Zwiebeln!"" Da sagte er: ""Wollt ihr etwa das, was geringer ist, in Tausch nehmen für das, was besser ist? Geht doch zurück in eine Stadt. Dort werdet ihr das erhalten, was ihr verlangt!"" Und Schande und Elend kamen über sie und sie verfielen dem Zorn Allahs. Dies (geschah deshalb), weil sie immer wieder die Zeichen Allahs leugneten und die Propheten zu Unrecht töteten; dies (geschah), weil sie sich auflehnten und immer wieder übertraten. 62   إِنَّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَالَّذِينَ هَادُوا وَالنَّصَارَىٰ وَالصَّابِئِينَ مَنْ آمَنَ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ وَعَمِلَ صَالِحًا فَلَهُمْ أَجْرُهُمْ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ وَلَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ Transliteration 62:  Inna allatheena amanoo waallatheena hadoo waalnnasara waalssabieena man amana biAllahi waalyawmi alakhiri waAAamila salihan falahum ajruhum AAinda rabbihim wala khawfun AAalayhim wala hum yahzanoona Yusuf Ali 62:  Those who believe (in the Qur'an), and those who follow the Jewish (scriptures), and the Christians and the Sabians,- any who believe in Allah and the Last Day, and work righteousness, shall have their reward with their Lord; on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve. Shakir 62:  Surely those who believe, and those who are Jews, and the Christians, and the Sabians, whoever believes in Allah and the Last day and does good, they shall have their reward from their Lord, and there is no fear for them, nor shall they grieve. Pickthal 62:  Lo! Those who believe (in that which is revealed unto thee, Muhammad), and those who are Jews, and Christians, and Sabaeans - whoever believeth in Allah and the Last Day and doeth right - surely their reward is with their Lord, and there shall no fear come upon them neither shall they grieve. Those who believe and those who are Jews and Christians, and Sabians, whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day and does righteous good deeds shall have their reward with their Lord, on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve. Indonesian 62:  Sesungguhnya orang-orang mu'min, orang-orang Yahudi, orang-orang Nasrani dan orang-orang Shabiin , siapa saja di antara mereka yang benar-benar beriman kepada Allah , hari kemudian dan beramal saleh , mereka akan menerima pahala dari Tuhan mereka, tidak ada kekhawatiran terhadap mereka, dan tidak (pula) mereka bersedih hati. Melayu 62:  Sesungguhnya orang-orang yang beriman dan orang-orang Yahudi dan orang-orang Nasora (Nasrani) dan orang-orang Saabien sesiapa di antara mereka itu beriman kepada Allah dan (beriman kepada) hari akhirat serta beramal soleh, maka bagi mereka pahala balasannya di sisi Tuhan mereka dan tidak ada kebimbangan (dari berlakunya kejadian yang tidak baik) kepada mereka dan mereka pula tidak akan berdukacita. German 62:  "Wahrlich, diejenigen, die glauben, und die Juden, die Christen und die Sabäer, wer an Allah und den Jüngsten Tag glaubt und Gutes tut - diese haben ihren Lohn bei ihrem Herrn und sie werden weder Angst haben noch werden sie traurig sein. 63   وَإِذْ أَخَذْنَا مِيثَاقَكُمْ وَرَفَعْنَا فَوْقَكُمُ الطُّورَ خُذُوا مَا آتَيْنَاكُم بِقُوَّةٍ وَاذْكُرُوا مَا فِيهِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَّقُونَ Transliteration 63:  Waith akhathna meethaqakum warafaAAna fawqakumu alttoora khuthoo ma ataynakum biquwwatin waothkuroo ma feehi laAAallakum tattaqoona Yusuf Ali 63:  And remember We took your covenant and We raised above you (The towering height) of Mount (Sinai) : (Saying): "Hold firmly to what We have given you and bring (ever) to remembrance what is therein: Perchance ye may fear Allah." Shakir 63:  And when We took a promise from you and lifted the mountain over you: Take hold of the law (Tavrat) We have given you with firmness and bear in mind what is in it, so that you may guard (against evil). Pickthal 63:  And (remember, O Children of Israel) when We made a covenant with you and caused the mount to tower above you, (saying): Hold fast that which We have given you, and remember that which is therein, that ye may ward off (evil). Mohsin Khan: 63:  And (O Children of Israel, remember) when We took your covenant and We raised above you the Mount (saying): "Hold fast to that which We have given you, and remember that which is therein so that you may become Al-Muttaqun (the pious - See V.2:2). German 63:  "Und als Wir mit euch einen Bund schlossen und über euch den Berg emporragen ließen (und zu euch sagten): ""Haltet fest an dem, was Wir euch gebracht haben, und gedenkt dessen, was darin enthalten ist; vielleicht werdet ihr gottesfürchtig sein""; 64   ثُمَّ تَوَلَّيْتُم مِّن بَعْدِ ذَ‌ٰلِكَ ۖ فَلَوْلَا فَضْلُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَتُهُ لَكُنتُم مِّنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ Transliteration 64:  Thumma tawallaytum min baAAdi thalika falawla fadlu Allahi AAalaykum warahmatuhu lakuntum mina alkhasireena Yusuf Ali 64:  But ye turned back thereafter: Had it not been for the Grace and Mercy of Allah to you, ye had surely been among the lost. Shakir 64:  Then you turned back after that; so were it not for the grace of Allah and His mercy on you, you would certainly have been among the losers. Pickthal 64:  Then, even after that, ye turned away, and if it had not been for the grace of Allah and His mercy ye had been among the losers. Mohsin Khan: 64:  Then after that you turned away. Had it not been for the Grace and Mercy of Allah upon you, indeed you would have been among the losers. French 64:  Puis vous vous en détournâtes après vos engagements, n'eût été donc la grâce d'Allah et Sa miséricorde, vous seriez certes parmi les perdants. Spanish 64:  Luego, después de eso, os volvisteis atrás y, si no llega a ser por el favor de Alá en vosotros y por Su misericordia, habriáis sido de los que pierden. Melayu 64:  Kemudian sesudah itu kamu membelakangkan perjanjian setia kamu itu (tidak menyempurnakannya); maka kalau tidaklah kerana limpah kurnia Allah dan belas kasihanNya kepada kamu (dengan membuka pintu taubat), nescaya menjadilah kamu dari golongan orang-orang yang rugi. German 64:  "da habt ihr euch abgewandt; und wenn nicht die Gnade Allahs und Seine Barmherzigkeit über euch gewesen wären, so wäret ihr gewiß unter den Verlierenden gewesen. 65   وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْتُمُ الَّذِينَ اعْتَدَوْا مِنكُمْ فِي السَّبْتِ فَقُلْنَا لَهُمْ كُونُوا قِرَدَةً خَاسِئِينَ Transliteration 65:  Walaqad AAalimtumu allatheena iAAtadaw minkum fee alssabti faqulna lahum koonoo qiradatan khasieena Yusuf Ali 65:  And well ye knew those amongst you who transgressed in the matter of the Sabbath: We said to them: "Be ye apes, despised and rejected." Shakir 65:  And certainly you have known those among you who exceeded the limits of the Sabbath, so We said to them: Be (as) apes, despised and hated. Pickthal 65:  And ye know of those of you who broke the Sabbath, how We said unto them: Be ye apes, despised and hated! Mohsin Khan: 65:  And indeed you knew those amongst you who transgressed in the matter of the Sabbath (i.e. Saturday). We said to them: "Be you monkeys, despised and rejected." French 65:  Vous avez certainement connu ceux des vòtres qui transgressèrent le Sabbat. Da sprachen Wir zu ihnen: ""Werdet ausgestoßene Affen."" 66   فَجَعَلْنَاهَا نَكَالًا لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهَا وَمَا خَلْفَهَا وَمَوْعِظَةً لِّلْمُتَّقِينَ Transliteration 66:  FajaAAalnaha nakalan lima bayna yadayha wama khalfaha wamawAAithatan lilmuttaqeena Yusuf Ali 66:  So We made it an example to their own time and to their posterity, and a lesson to those who fear Allah. Shakir 66:  So We made them an example to those who witnessed it and those who came after it, and an admonition to those who guard (against evil). Pickthal 66:  And We made it an example to their own and to succeeding generations, and an admonition to the Allah-fearing. Mohsin Khan: 66:  So We made this punishment an example to their own and to succeeding generations and a lesson to those who are Al-Muttaqun (the pious - See V.2:2). French 66:  Nous fîmes donc de cela un exemple pour les villes qui l'entouraient alors et une exhortation pour les pieux. German 66:  "Und Wir machten dies zu einem warnenden Beispiel für alle Zeiten und zu einer Lehre für die Gottesfürchtigen. 67   وَإِذْ قَالَ مُوسَىٰ لِقَوْمِهِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَأْمُرُكُمْ أَن تَذْبَحُوا بَقَرَةً ۖ قَالُوا أَتَتَّخِذُنَا هُزُوًا ۖ قَالَ أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ أَنْ أَكُونَ مِنَ الْجَاهِلِينَ Transliteration 67:  Waith qala moosa liqawmihi inna Allaha yamurukum an tathbahoo baqaratan qaloo atattakhithuna huzuwan qala aAAoothu biAllahi an akoona mina aljahileena Yusuf Ali 67:  And remember Moses said to his people: "(Allah) commands that ye sacrifice a heifer." They said: "Makest thou a laughing-stock of us?" He said: "(Allah) save me from being an ignorant (fool)!" Shakir 67:  And when Musa said to his people: Surely Allah commands you that you should sacrifice a cow; they said: Do you ridicule us? He said: I seek the protection of Allah from being one of the ignorant. Pickthal 67:  And when Moses said unto his people: Lo! Allah commandeth you that ye sacrifice a cow, they said: Dost thou make game of us? He answered: Allah forbid that I should be among the foolish! Mohsin Khan: 67:  And (remember) when Musa (Moses) said to his people: "Verily, Allah commands you that you slaughter a cow." They said, "Do you make fun of us?" He said, "I take Allah's Refuge from being among Al-Jahilun (the ignorant or the foolish)." French 67:  (Et rappelez-vous,) lorsque Moïse dit à son peuple: ‹Certes Allah vous ordonne d'immoler une vache›. Melayu 67:  Dan (ingatlah), ketika Nabi Musa berkata kepada kaumnya: Sesungguhnya Allah menyuruh supaya kamu menyembelih seekor lembu betina. Mereka berkata: Adakah engkau hendak menjadikan kami ini permainan? Nabi Musa menjawab: Aku berlindung kepada Allah daripada menjadi salah seorang dari golongan yang jahil (yang melakukan sesuatu yang tidak patut). German 67:  "Und als Moses zu seinem Volk sagte: ""Wahrlich, Allah befiehlt euch, eine Kuh zu schlachten"", sagten sie: ""Willst du dich über uns lustig machen?"" Er sagte: ""Allah bewahre mich davor, einer der Unwissenden zu sein."" 68   قَالُوا ادْعُ لَنَا رَبَّكَ يُبَيِّن لَّنَا مَا هِيَ ۚ قَالَ إِنَّهُ يَقُولُ إِنَّهَا بَقَرَةٌ لَّا فَارِضٌ وَلَا بِكْرٌ عَوَانٌ بَيْنَ ذَ‌ٰلِكَ ۖ فَافْعَلُوا مَا تُؤْمَرُونَ Transliteration 68:  Qaloo odAAu lana rabbaka yubayyin lana ma hiya qala innahu yaqoolu innaha baqaratun la faridun wala bikrun AAawanun bayna thalika faifAAaloo ma tumaroona Yusuf Ali 68:  They said: "Beseech on our behalf Thy Lord to make plain to us what (heifer) it is!" He said; "He says: The heifer should be neither too old nor too young, but of middling age. Now do what ye are commanded!" Shakir 68:  They said: Call on your Lord for our sake to make it plain to us what she is. Musa said: He says, Surely she is a cow neither advanced in age nor too young, of middle age between that (and this); do therefore what you are commanded. Pickthal 68:  They said: Pray for us unto thy Lord that He make clear to us what (cow) she is. (Moses) answered: Lo! He saith, Verily she is a cow neither with calf nor immature; (she is) between the two conditions; so do that which ye are commanded. Mohsin Khan: 68:  They said, "Call upon your Lord for us that He may make plain to us what it is!" He said, "He says, 'Verily, it is a cow neither too old nor too young, but (it is) between the two conditions', so do what you are commanded." French 68:  - Ils dirent: ‹Demande pour nous à ton Seigneur qu'Il nous précise ce qu'elle doit être›. - Il dit: ‹Certes Allah dit que c'est bien une vache, ni vieille ni vierge, d'un âge moyen, entre les deux. Faites donc ce qu'on vous commande›. Spanish 68:  Dijeron: "Pide a tu Señor de nuestra parte que nos aclare cómo ha de ser ella". Dijo: "Dice que no es una vaca vieja ni joven, sino de edad media. Haced, pues, como se os manda". Indonesian 68:  Mereka menjawab: "Mohonkanlah kepada Tuhanmu untuk kami, agar Dia menerangkan kepada kami, sapi betina apakah itu." Musa menjawab: "Sesungguhnya Allah berfirman bahwa sapi betina itu adalah sapi betina yang tidak tua dan tidak muda; pertengahan antara itu; maka kerjakanlah apa yang diperintahkan kepadamu". Melayu 68:  Mereka berkata pula: Berdoalah kepada Tuhanmu untuk kami, supaya diterangkanNya kepada kami bagaimana (sifat-sifat) lembu itu? Nabi Musa menjawab: Bahawasanya Allah berfirman: Bahawa (lembu betina) itu ialah seekor lembu yang tidak terlalu tua dan tidak terlalu muda, pertengahan (umurnya) di antara itu; maka kerjakanlah apa yang diperintahkan kepada kamu melakukannya. German 68:  ""Sie sagten: ""Bitte für uns deinen Herrn, daß Er uns erkläre, wie sie sein soll."" Er sagte: ""Wahrlich, Er sagt, sie soll eine Kuh sein, die nicht zu alt und nicht zu jung ist, sondern ein Alter dazwischen hat. So tut das, was euch befohlen wird."" 69   قَالُوا ادْعُ لَنَا رَبَّكَ يُبَيِّن لَّنَا مَا لَوْنُهَا ۚ قَالَ إِنَّهُ يَقُولُ إِنَّهَا بَقَرَةٌ صَفْرَاءُ فَاقِعٌ لَّوْنُهَا تَسُرُّ النَّاظِرِينَ Transliteration 69:  Qaloo odAAu lana rabbaka yubayyin lana ma lawnuha qala innahu yaqoolu innaha baqaratun safrao faqiAAun lawnuha tasurru alnnathireena Yusuf Ali 69:  They said: "Beseech on our behalf Thy Lord to make plain to us Her colour." He said: "He says: A fawn-coloured heifer, pure and rich in tone, the admiration of beholders!" Shakir 69:  They said: Call on your Lord for our sake to make it plain to us what her color is. Musa said: He says, Surely she is a yellow cow; her color is intensely yellow, giving delight to the beholders. Pickthal 69:  They said: Pray for us unto thy Lord that He make clear to us of what colour she is. (Moses) answered: Lo! He saith: Verily she is a yellow cow. Bright is her colour, gladdening beholders. Mohsin Khan: 69:  They said, "Call upon your Lord for us to make plain to us its colour." He said, "He says, 'It is a yellow cow, bright in its colour, pleasing to the beholders.' " French 69:  - Ils dirent: ‹Demande donc pour nous à ton Seigneur qu'Il nous précise sa couleur›. - Il dit: ‹Allah dit que c'est une vache jaune, de couleur vive et plaisante à voir›. Spanish 69:  Dijeron: "Pide a tu Señor de nuestra parte que nos aclare de qué color ha de ser". Dijo: "Dice que es una vaca amarilla de un amarillo intenso, que haga las delicias de los que la miran". Indonesian 69:  Mereka berkata: "Mohonkanlah kepada Tuhanmu untuk kami agar Dia menerangkan kepada kami apa warnanya". Musa menjawab: "Sesungguhnya Allah berfirman bahwa sapi betina itu adalah sapi betina yang kuning, yang kuning tua warnanya, lagi menyenangkan orang-orang yang memandangnya." Melayu 69:  Mereka berkata lagi: Pohonkanlah kepada Tuhanmu untuk kami, supaya diterangkanNya kepada kami apa warnanya? Nabi Musa menjawab: Bahawasanya Allah berfirman: Bahawa (lembu betina) itu ialah seekor lembu kuning, kuning tua warnanya, lagi menyukakan orang-orang yang melihatnya. German 69:  ""Sie sagten: ""Rufe für uns deinen Herrn an, daß Er uns erkläre, welche Farbe sie haben soll."" Er (Moses) sagte: ""Wahrlich, Er sagt, es soll eine gelbe Kuh sein von lebhafter Farbe, die die Schauenden erfreut."" 70   قَالُوا ادْعُ لَنَا رَبَّكَ يُبَيِّن لَّنَا مَا هِيَ إِنَّ الْبَقَرَ تَشَابَهَ عَلَيْنَا وَإِنَّا إِن شَاءَ اللَّهُ لَمُهْتَدُونَ Transliteration 70:  Qaloo odAAu lana rabbaka yubayyin lana ma hiya inna albaqara tashabaha AAalayna wainna in shaa Allahu lamuhtadoona Yusuf Ali 70:  They said: "Beseech on our behalf Thy Lord to make plain to us what she is: To us are all heifers alike: We wish indeed for guidance, if Allah wills." Shakir 70:  They said: Call on your Lord for our sake to make it plain to us what she is, for surely to us the cows are all alike, and if Allah please we shall surely be guided aright. Pickthal 70:  They said: Pray for us unto thy Lord that He make clear to us what (cow) she is. Lo! cows are much alike to us; and Lo! if Allah wills, we may be led aright. Mohsin Khan: 70:  They said, "Call upon your Lord for us to make plain to us what it is. Verily, to us all cows are alike. And surely, if Allah wills, we will be guided." French 70:  - Ils dirent: ‹Demande pour nous à ton Seigneur qu'Il nous précise ce qu'elle est car pour nous, les vaches se confondent. Mais, nous y serions certainement bien guidés, si Allah le veut›. Spanish 70:  Dijeron: "Pide a tu Señor de nuestra parte que nos aclare cómo es, pues todas las vacas nos parecen iguales. Así. si Alá quiere, seremos, ciertamente, bien dirigidos". Indonesian 70:  Mereka berkata: "Mohonkanlah kepada Tuhanmu untuk kami agar Dia menerangkan kepada kami bagaimana hakikat sapi betina itu, karena sesungguhnya sapi itu (masih) samar bagi kami dan sesungguhnya kami insya Allah akan mendapat petunjuk (untuk memperoleh sapi itu)." Melayu 70:  Mereka berkata lagi: Pohonkanlah kepada Tuhanmu untuk kami, supaya diterangkanNya kepada kami lembu betina yang mana satu? Kerana sesungguhnya lembu yang dikehendaki itu kesamaran kepada kami (susah kami memilihnya) dan kami insya Allah akan mendapat petunjuk (untuk mencari dan menyembelih lembu itu). Für uns sind die Kühe einander ähnlich; und wenn Allah will, werden wir gewiß rechtgeleitet sein!"" 71   قَالَ إِنَّهُ يَقُولُ إِنَّهَا بَقَرَةٌ لَّا ذَلُولٌ تُثِيرُ الْأَرْضَ وَلَا تَسْقِي الْحَرْثَ مُسَلَّمَةٌ لَّا شِيَةَ فِيهَا ۚ قَالُوا الْآنَ جِئْتَ بِالْحَقِّ ۚ فَذَبَحُوهَا وَمَا كَادُوا يَفْعَلُونَ Transliteration 71:  Qala innahu yaqoolu innaha baqaratun la thaloolun tutheeru alarda wala tasqee alhartha musallamatun la shiyata feeha qaloo alana jita bialhaqqi fathabahooha wama kadoo yafAAaloona Yusuf Ali 71:  He said: "He says: A heifer not trained to till the soil or water the fields; sound and without blemish." They said: "Now hast thou brought the truth." Then they offered her in sacrifice, but not with good-will. Shakir 71:  Musa said: He says, Surely she is a cow not made submissive that she should plough the land, nor does she irrigate the tilth; sound, without a blemish in her. They said: Now you have brought the truth; so they sacrificed her, though they had not the mind to do (it). Pickthal 71:  (Moses) answered: Lo! He saith: Verily she is a cow unyoked; she plougheth not the soil nor watereth the tilth; whole and without mark. They said: Now thou bringest the truth. So they sacrificed her, though almost they did not. Mohsin Khan: 71:  He [Musa (Moses)] said, "He says, 'It is a cow neither trained to till the soil nor water the fields, sound, having no other colour except bright yellow.' " T
