| Transliteration: | Qad aflaha almuminoona |

| 2. | الَّذِينَ هُمْ فِي صَلَاتِهِمْ خَاشِعُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Allatheena hum fee salatihim khashiAAoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | Those who humble themselves in their prayers; |
| Shakir: | Who are humble in their prayers, |
| Pickthall: | Who are humble in their prayers, |
| Mohsin Khan: | Those who offer their Salat (prayers) with all solemnity and full submissiveness. |
| French: | ceux qui sont humbles dans leur Salât, |
| Spanish: | que hacen su azalá con humildad, |
| Indonesian: | (yaitu) orang-orang yang khusyu' dalam shalatnya,

| Malay:: | Iaitu mereka yang khusyuk dalam sembahyangnya;

| German: | denjenigen, die in ihrem Gebet demütig sind, |

| 3. | وَالَّذِينَ هُمْ عَنِ اللَّغْوِ مُعْرِضُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Waallatheena hum AAani allaghwi muAAridoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | Who avoid vain talk; |
| Shakir: | And who keep aloof from what is vain, |
| Pickthall: | And who shun vain conversation, |
| Mohsin Khan: | And those who turn away from Al-Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk, falsehood, and all that Allah has forbidden). |
| French: | qui se détournent des futilités, |
| Spanish: | que evitan el vaniloquio, |
| Indonesian: | dan orang-orang yang menjauhkan diri dari (perbuatan dan perkataan) yang tiada berguna,

| Russian: | которые отворачиваются от всего праздного, |

| 4. | وَالَّذِينَ هُمْ لِلزَّكَاةِ فَاعِلُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Waallatheena hum lilzzakati faAAiloona |
| Yusuf Ali: | Who are active in deeds of charity; |
| Shakir: | And who are givers of poor-rate, |
| Pickthall: | And who are payers of the poor-due; |
| Mohsin Khan: | And those who pay the Zakat. |
| French: | qui s'acquittent de la Zakât, |
| Spanish: | que dan el azaque, |
| Indonesian: | dan orang-orang yang menunaikan zakat,

| Malay:: | Dan mereka yang berusaha membersihkan hartanya (dengan menunaikan zakat harta itu);

| 5. | وَالَّذِينَ هُمْ لِفُرُوجِهِمْ حَافِظُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Waallatheena hum lifuroojihim hafithoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | Who abstain from sex, |
| Shakir: | And who guard their private parts, |
| Pickthall: | And who guard their modesty - |
| Mohsin Khan: | And those who guard their chastity (i.e. private parts, from illegal sexual acts) |
| French: | et qui préservent leurs sexes [de tout rapport], |
| Spanish: | que se abstienen de comercio carnal, |
| Indonesian: | dan orang-orang yang menjaga kemaluannya,

| Malay:: | Dan mereka yang menjaga kehormatannya;

| German: | und denjenigen, die ihre Scham hüten, |
| Russian: | которые оберегают свои половые органы от всех, |

| Urdu: | اور جو اپنی شرم گاہوں کی حفاظت کرنے والے ہیں |

| 6. | إِلَّا عَلَىٰ أَزْوَاجِهِمْ أَوْ مَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَانُهُمْ فَإِنَّهُمْ غَيْرُ مَلُومِينَ |
| Transliteration: | Illa AAala azwajihim aw ma malakat aymanuhum fainnahum ghayru maloomeena |
| Yusuf Ali: | Except with those joined to them in the marriage bond, or (the captives) whom their right hands possess,- for (in their case) they are free from blame, |
| Shakir: | Except before their mates or those whom their right hands possess, for they surely are not blameable, |
| Pickthall: | Save from their wives or the (slaves) that their right hands possess, for then they are not blameworthy, |
| Mohsin Khan: | Except from their wives or (the slaves) that their right hands possess, - for then, they are free from blame; |
| French: | si ce n'est qu'avec leurs épouses ou les esclaves qu'ils possèdent, car là vraiment, on ne peut les blâmer; |
| Spanish: | salvo con sus esposas o con sus esclavas en cuyo caso no incurren en reproche, |
| Indonesian: | kecuali terhadap isteri-isteri mereka atau budak yang mereka miliki; maka sesungguhnya mereka dalam hal ini tiada tercela.

| Malay:: | Kecuali kepada isterinya atau hamba sahayanya maka sesungguhnya mereka tidak tercela;

| German: | außer gegenüber ihren Gattinnen oder was ihre rechte Hand (an Sklavinnen) besitzt, denn sie sind (hierin) nicht zu tadeln, |
| Russian: | кроме своих жен или невольниц, которыми овладели их десницы, за что они не заслуживают порицания, |
| Bosnian: | osim od žena svojih ili onih koje su u posjedu njihovu, oni, doista, prijekor ne zaslužuju – |
| Urdu: | مگر اپنی بیویوں یا لونڈیوں پر اس لیے کہ ان میں کوئی الزام نہیں |

| 7. | فَمَنِ ابْتَغَىٰ وَرَاءَ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُولَـٰئِكَ هُمُ الْعَادُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Famani ibtagha waraa thalika faolaika humu alAAadoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | But those whose desires exceed those limits are transgressors;- |
| Shakir: | But whoever seeks to go beyond that, these are they that exceed the limits; |
| Pickthall: | But whoso craveth beyond that, such are transgressors - |
| Mohsin Khan: | But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors; |
| French: | alors que ceux qui cherchent au-delà de ces limites sont des transgresseurs; |
| Spanish: | mientras que quienes desean a otras mujeres, ésos son los que violan la ley-, |
| Indonesian: | Barangsiapa mencari yang di balik itu maka mereka itulah orang-orang yang melampaui batas.

| Malay:: | Kemudian, sesiapa yang mengingini selain dari yang demikian, maka merekalah orang-orang yang melampaui batas;

| 8. | وَالَّذِينَ هُمْ لِأَمَانَاتِهِمْ وَعَهْدِهِمْ رَاعُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Waallatheena hum liamanatihim waAAahdihim raAAoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | Those who faithfully observe their trusts and their covenants; |
| Shakir: | And those who are keepers of their trusts and their covenant, |
| Pickthall: | And who are shepherds of their pledge and their covenant, |
| Mohsin Khan: | Those who are faithfully true to their Amanat (all the duties which Allah has ordained, honesty, moral responsibility and trusts) and to their covenants; |
| French: | et qui veillent à la sauvegarde des dépôts confiés à eux et honorent leurs engagements, |
| Spanish: | que respetan los depósitos que se les confían y las promesas que hacen, |
| Indonesian: | Dan orang-orang yang memelihara amanat-amanat (yang dipikulnya) dan janjinya,

| Malay:: | Dan mereka yang menjaga amanah dan janjinya;

| 9. | وَالَّذِينَ هُمْ عَلَىٰ صَلَوَاتِهِمْ يُحَافِظُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Waallatheena hum AAala salawatihim yuhafithoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | And who (strictly) guard their prayers;- |
| Shakir: | And those who keep a guard on their prayers; |
| Pickthall: | And who pay heed to their prayers. |
| Mohsin Khan: | And those who strictly guard their (five compulsory congregational) Salawat (prayers) (at their fixed stated hours). |
| French: | et qui observent strictement leur Salât. |
| Spanish: | que observan sus azalás! |
| Indonesian: | dan orang-orang yang memelihara sembahyangnya.

| Malay:: | Dan mereka yang tetap memelihara sembahyangnya;

| 10. | أُولَـٰئِكَ هُمُ الْوَارِثُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Olaika humu alwarithoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | These will be the heirs, |
| Shakir: | These are they who are the heirs, |
| Pickthall: | These are the heirs |
| Mohsin Khan: | These are indeed the inheritors |
| French: | Ce sont eux les héritiers, |
| Spanish: | Ésos son los herederos |
| Indonesian: | Mereka itulah orang-orang yang akan mewarisi,
|
| Malay:: | Mereka itulah orang-orang yang berhak mewarisi;
|
| German: | Das sind die Erben, |
| Russian: | Именно они являются наследниками, |
| Bosnian: | oni su dostojni nasljednici, |
| Urdu: | وہی وارث ہیں |

| 11. | الَّذِينَ يَرِثُونَ الْفِرْدَوْسَ هُمْ فِيهَا خَالِدُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Allatheena yarithoona alfirdawsa hum feeha khalidoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | Who will inherit Paradise: they will dwell therein (for ever). |
| Shakir: | Who shall inherit the Paradise; they shall abide therein. |
| Pickthall: | Who will inherit paradise. There they will abide. |
| Mohsin Khan: | Who shall inherit the Firdaus (Paradise). They shall dwell therein forever. |
| French: | qui hériteront le Paradis pour y demeurer éternellement. |
| Spanish: | que heredarán el paraíso, en el que estarán eternamente. |
| Indonesian: | (ya'ni) yang akan mewarisi surga Firdaus. Mereka kekal di dalamnya.

| German: | die das Paradies erben werden; ewig werden sie darin bleiben. |

| Urdu: | جو جنت الفردوس کے وارث ہوں گے وہ اس میں ہمیشہ رہنے والے ہوں گے |

| 12. | وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا الْإِنسَانَ مِن سُلَالَةٍ مِّن طِينٍ |
| Transliteration: | Walaqad khalaqna alinsana min sulalatin min teenin |
| Yusuf Ali: | Man We did create from a quintessence (of clay); |
| Shakir: | And certainly We created man of an extract of clay, |
| Pickthall: | Verily We created man from a product of wet earth; |
| Mohsin Khan: | And indeed We created man (Adam) out of an extract of clay (water and earth). |
| French: | Nous avons certes créé l'homme d'un extrait d'argile. |
| Spanish: | Hemos creado al hombre de arcilla fina. |
| Indonesian: | Dan sesungguhnya Kami telah menciptakan manusia dari suatu saripati (berasal) dari tanah.
|
| Malay:: | Dan sesungguhnya Kami telah menciptakan manusia dari pati (yang berasal) dari tanah;

| German: | Wir schufen den Menschen ja aus einem Auszug aus Lehm. |
| Russian: | Воистину, Мы сотворили человека из эссенции глины. |
| Bosnian: | Mi čovjeka od bîti zemlje stvaramo, |
| Urdu: | اور البتہ ہم نے انسان کومٹی کے خلاصہ سے پیدا کیا |

| 13. | ثُمَّ جَعَلْنَاهُ نُطْفَةً فِي قَرَارٍ مَّكِينٍ |
| Transliteration: | Thumma jaAAalnahu nutfatan fee qararin makeenin |
| Yusuf Ali: | Then We placed him as (a drop of) sperm in a place of rest, firmly fixed; |
| Shakir: | Then We made him a small seed in a firm resting-place, |
| Pickthall: | Then placed him as a drop (of seed) in a safe lodging; |
| Mohsin Khan: | Thereafter We made him (the offspring of Adam) as a Nutfah (mixed drops of the male and female sexual discharge and lodged it) in a safe lodging (womb of the woman). |
| French: | puis Nous en fîmes une goutte de sperme dans un reposoir solide. |
| Spanish: | Luego, le colocamos como gota en un receptáculo firme. |
| Indonesian: | Kemudian Kami jadikan saripati itu air mani (yang disimpan) dalam tempat yang kokoh (rahim).
|
| Malay:: | Kemudian Kami jadikan "pati" itu (setitis) air benih pada penetapan yang kukuh;
|
| German: | Hierauf machten Wir ihn zu einem Samentropfen in einem festen Aufenthaltsort. |
| Russian: | Потом Мы поместили его каплей в надежном месте. |
| Bosnian: | zatim ga kao kap sjemena na sigurno mjesto stavljamo, |
| Urdu: | پھر ہم نے حفاظت کی جگہ میں نطفہ بنا کر رکھا |

| 14. | ثُمَّ خَلَقْنَا النُّطْفَةَ عَلَقَةً فَخَلَقْنَا الْعَلَقَةَ مُضْغَةً فَخَلَقْنَا الْمُضْغَةَ عِظَامًا فَكَسَوْنَا الْعِظَامَ لَحْمًا ثُمَّ أَنشَأْنَاهُ خَلْقًا آخَرَ ۚ فَتَبَارَكَ اللَّهُ أَحْسَنُ الْخَالِقِينَ |
| Transliteration: | Thumma khalaqna alnnutfata AAalaqatan fakhalaqna alAAalaqata mudghatan fakhalaqna almudghata AAithaman fakasawna alAAithama lahman thumma anshanahu khalqan akhara fatabaraka Allahu ahsanu alkhaliqeena |
| Yusuf Ali: | Then We made the sperm into a clot of congealed blood; then of that clot We made a (foetus) lump; then we made out of that lump bones and clothed the bones with flesh; then we developed out of it another creature. So blessed be Allah, the best to create! |
| Shakir: | Then We made the seed a clot, then We made the clot a lump of flesh, then We made (in) the lump of flesh bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, then We caused it to grow into another creation, so blessed be Allah, the best of the creators. |
| Pickthall: | Then fashioned We the drop a clot, then fashioned We the clot a little lump, then fashioned We the little lump bones, then clothed the bones with flesh, and then produced it as another creation. So blessed be Allah, the Best of creators! |
| Mohsin Khan: | Then We made the Nutfah into a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood), then We made the clot into a little lump of flesh, then We made out of that little lump of flesh bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, and then We brought it forth as another creation. So Blessed is Allah, the Best of creators. |
| French: | Ensuite, Nous avons fait du sperme une adhérence; et de l'adhérence Nous avons créé un embryon; puis, de cet embryon Nous avons créé des os et Nous avons revêtu les os de chair. Ensuite, Nous l'avons transformé en une tout autre création. Gloire à Allah le Meilleur des créateurs! |
| Spanish: | Luego, creamos de la gota un coágulo de sangre, del coágulo un embrión y del embrión huesos, que revestimos de carne. Luego, hicimos de él otra criatura. ¡Bendito sea Alá, el Mejor de los creadores! |
| Indonesian: | Kemudian air mani itu Kami jadikan segumpal darah, lalu segumpal darah itu Kami jadikan segumpal daging, dan segumpal daging itu Kami jadikan tulang belulang, lalu tulang belulang itu Kami bungkus dengan daging. Kemudian Kami jadikan dia makhluk yang (berbentuk) lain. Maka Maha Sucilah Allah, Pencipta Yang Paling Baik.

| Malay:: | Kemudian Kami ciptakan air benih itu menjadi sebuku darah beku lalu Kami ciptakan darah beku itu menjadi seketul daging; kemudian Kami ciptakan daging itu menjadi beberapa tulang; kemudian Kami balut tulang-tulang itu dengan daging. Setelah sempurna kejadian itu Kami bentuk ia menjadi makhluk yang lain sifat keadaannya. Maka nyatalah kelebihan dan ketinggian Allah sebaik-baik Pencipta.

| German: | Hierauf schufen Wir den Samentropfen zu einem Anhängsel, dann schufen Wir das Anhängsel zu einem kleinen Klumpen, dann schufen Wir den kleinen Klumpen zu Knochen, dann bekleideten Wir die Knochen mit Fleisch. Hierauf ließen Wir ihn als eine weitere Schöpfung entstehen. Segensreich ist Allah, der beste Schöpfer. |
| Russian: | Потом Мы создали из капли сгусток крови, потом создали из сгустка крови разжеванный кусочек, потом создали из этого кусочка кости, и потом облекли кости мясом. Потом Мы вырастили его в другом творении. Благословен же Аллах, Наилучший из творцов! |
| Bosnian: | pa onda kap sjemena ugruškom učinimo, zatim od ugruška grudu mesa stvorimo, pa od grude mesa kosti napravimo, a onda kosti mesom zaodjenemo, i poslije ga, kao drugo stvorenje, oživimo – pa neka je uzvišen Allah, najljepši Stvoritelj! |
| Urdu: | پھر ہم نے نطفہ کا لوتھڑا بنایا پھر ہم نے لوتھڑے سے گوشت کی بوٹی بنائی پھر ہم نے اس بوٹی سے ہڈیاں بنائیں پھر ہم نے ہڈیوں پر گوشت پہنایا پھر اسے ایک نئی صورت میں بنا دیا سو الله بڑی برکت والا سب سےبہتر بنانے والا ہے |

| 15. | ثُمَّ إِنَّكُم بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ لَمَيِّتُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Thumma innakum baAAda thalika lamayyitoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | After that, at length ye will die |
| Shakir: | Then after that you will most surely die. |
| Pickthall: | Then lo! after that ye surely die. |
| Mohsin Khan: | After that, surely, you will die. |
| French: | Et puis, après cela vous mourrez. |
| Spanish: | Luego, después de esto, habéis de morir. |
| Indonesian: | Kemudian, sesudah itu, sesungguhnya kamu sekalian benar-benar akan mati.

| Malay:: | Kemudian, sesungguhnya kamu sesudah itu akan mati.
|
| German: | Hierauf werdet ihr gewiß nach (all) diesem sterben. |
| Russian: | После этого вы непременно умрете. |
| Bosnian: | Vi ćete, poslije toga, pomrijeti, |
| Urdu: | پھر تم اس کے بعد مرنے والے ہو |

| 16. | ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ تُبْعَثُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Thumma innakum yawma alqiyamati tubAAathoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | Again, on the Day of Judgment, will ye be raised up. |
| Shakir: | Then surely on the day of resurrection you shall be raised. |
| Pickthall: | Then lo! on the Day of Resurrection ye are raised (again). |
| Mohsin Khan: | Then (again), surely, you will be resurrected on the Day of Resurrection. |
| French: | Et puis au Jour de la Résurrection vous serez ressuscités. |
| Spanish: | Luego, el día de la Resurrección, seréis resucitados. |
| Indonesian: | Kemudian, sesungguhnya kamu sekalian akan dibangkitkan (dari kuburmu) di hari kiamat.
|
| Malay:: | Kemudian sesungguhnya kamu akan dibangkitkan hidup semula pada hari kiamat.
|
| German: | Hierauf werdet ihr gewiß am Tag der Auferstehung auferweckt werden. |
| Russian: | А потом, в День воскресения, вы непременно будете воскрешены. |
| Bosnian: | zatim ćete, na onome svijetu, oživljeni biti. |
| Urdu: | پھر تم قیامت کے دن اٹھائے جاؤ گے |
|
| 17. | وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا فَوْقَكُمْ سَبْعَ طَرَائِقَ وَمَا كُنَّا عَنِ الْخَلْقِ غَافِلِينَ |
| Transliteration: | Walaqad khalaqna fawqakum sabAAa taraiqa wama kunna AAani alkhalqi ghafileena |
| Yusuf Ali: | And We have made, above you, seven tracts; and We are never unmindful of (our) Creation. |
| Shakir: | And certainly We made above you seven heavens; and never are We heedless of creation. |
| Pickthall: | And We have created above you seven paths, and We are never unmindful of creation. |
| Mohsin Khan: | And indeed We have created above you seven heavens (one over the other), and We are never unaware of the creation. |
| French: | Nous avons créé, au-dessus de vous, sept cieux. Et Nous ne sommes pas inattentifs à la création. |
| Spanish: | Encima de vosotros, hemos creado siete cielos. No hemos descuidado la creación. |
| Indonesian: | Dan sesungguhnya Kami telah menciptakan di atas kamu tujuh buah jalan (tujuh buah langit) dan Kami tidaklah lengah terhadap ciptaan (Kami).

| Malay:: | Dan demi sesungguhnya, Kami telah menciptakan tujuh jalan di atas kamu dan Kami pula tidak lalai daripada (menyediakan keperluan) makhluk-makhluk Kami.
|
| German: | Und Wir schufen ja über euch sieben Lagen, und Wir sind der Schöpfung nicht unachtsam. |
| Russian: | Воистину, Мы создали над вами семь небес одно над другим. Мы никогда не находились в неведении о творениях. |
| Bosnian: | Mi smo sedam nebesa iznad vas stvorili, i Mi bdijemo nad onim što smo stvorili; |
| Urdu: | اورہم ہی نے تمہارے اوپر سات آسمان بنائے ہیں اور ہم بنانے میں بے خبر نہ تھے |

| 18. | وَأَنزَلْنَا مِنَ السَّمَاءِ مَاءً بِقَدَرٍ فَأَسْكَنَّاهُ فِي الْأَرْضِ ۖ وَإِنَّا عَلَىٰ ذَهَابٍ بِهِ لَقَادِرُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Waanzalna mina alssamai maan biqadarin faaskannahu fee alardi wainna AAala thahabin bihi laqadiroona |
| Yusuf Ali: | And We send down water from the sky according to (due) measure, and We cause it to soak in the soil; and We certainly are able to drain it off (with ease). |
| Shakir: | And We send down water from the cloud according to a measure, then We cause it to settle in the earth, and most surely We are able to carry it away. |

| 19. | فَأَنشَأْنَا لَكُم بِهِ جَنَّاتٍ مِّن نَّخِيلٍ وَأَعْنَابٍ لَّكُمْ فِيهَا فَوَاكِهُ كَثِيرَةٌ وَمِنْهَا تَأْكُلُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Faanshana lakum bihi jannatin min nakheelin waaAAnabin lakum feeha fawakihu katheeratun waminha takuloona |
| Yusuf Ali: | With it We grow for you gardens of date-palms and vines: in them have ye abundant fruits: and of them ye eat (and have enjoyment),- |
| Shakir: | Then We cause to grow thereby gardens of palm trees and grapes for you; you have in them many fruits and from them do you eat; |
| Pickthall: | Then We produce for you therewith gardens of date-palms and grapes, wherein is much fruit for you and whereof ye eat; |
| Mohsin Khan: | Then We brought forth for you therewith gardens of date-palms and grapes, wherein is much fruit for you, and whereof you eat. |

| 20. | وَشَجَرَةً تَخْرُجُ مِن طُورِ سَيْنَاءَ تَنبُتُ بِالدُّهْنِ وَصِبْغٍ لِّلْآكِلِينَ |
| Transliteration: | Washajaratan takhruju min toori saynaa tanbutu bialdduhni wasibghin lilakileena |
| Yusuf Ali: | Also a tree springing out of Mount Sinai, which produces oil, and relish for those who use it for food. |
| Shakir: | And a tree that grows out of Mount Sinai which produces oil and a condiment for those who eat. |
| Pickthall: | And a tree that springeth forth from Mount Sinai that groweth oil and relish for the eaters. |
| Mohsin Khan: | And a tree (olive) that springs forth from Mount Sinai, that grows (produces) oil, and (it is a) relish for the eaters. |
| French: | ainsi qu'un arbre (l'olivier) qui pousse au Mont Sinaî, en produisant l'huile servant à oindre et où les mangeurs trempent leur pain. |

| 21. | وَإِنَّ لَكُمْ فِي الْأَنْعَامِ لَعِبْرَةً ۖ نُّسْقِيكُم مِّمَّا فِي بُطُونِهَا وَلَكُمْ فِيهَا مَنَافِعُ كَثِيرَةٌ وَمِنْهَا تَأْكُلُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Wainna lakum fee alanAAami laAAibratan nusqeekum mimma fee butooniha walakum feeha manafiAAu katheeratun waminha takuloona |
| Yusuf Ali: | And in cattle (too) ye have an instructive example: from within their bodies We produce (milk) for you to drink; there are, in them, (besides), numerous (other) benefits for you; and of their (meat) ye eat; |
| Shakir: | And most surely there is a lesson for you in the cattle: We make you to drink of what is in their bellies, and you have in them many advantages and of them you eat, |
| Pickthall: | And lo! in the cattle there is verily a lesson for you. We give you to drink of that which is in their bellies, and many uses have ye in them, and of them do ye eat; |
| Mohsin Khan: | And verily in the cattle there is indeed a lesson for you. We give you to drink (milk) of that which is in their bellies. And there are, in them, numerous (other) benefits for you, and of them you eat. |

| 22. | وَعَلَيْهَا وَعَلَى الْفُلْكِ تُحْمَلُونَ |
| Transliteration: | WaAAalayha waAAala alfulki tuhmaloona |
| Yusuf Ali: | And on them, as well as in ships, ye ride. |
| Shakir: | And on them and on the ships you are borne. |
| Pickthall: | And on them and on the ship ye are carried. |
| Mohsin Khan: | And on them, and on ships you are carried. |
| French: | Sur eux ainsi que sur des vaisseaux vous êtes transportés. |
| Spanish: | Ellos y las naves os sirven de medios de transporte. |

| 23. | وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِ فَقَالَ يَا قَوْمِ اعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَـٰهٍ غَيْرُهُ ۖ أَفَلَا تَتَّقُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Walaqad arsalna noohan ila qawmihi faqala ya qawmi oAAbudoo Allaha ma lakum min ilahin ghayruhu afala tattaqoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | (Further, We sent a long line of prophets for your instruction). We sent Noah to his people: He said, "O my people! worship Allah! Ye have no other god but Him. Will ye not fear (Him)?" |
| Shakir: | And certainly We sent Nuh to his people, and he said: O my people! serve Allah, you have no god other than Him; will you not then guard (against evil)? |
| Pickthall: | And We verily sent Noah unto his folk, and he said: O my people! Serve Allah. Ye have no other Allah save Him. Will ye not ward off (evil)? |
| Mohsin Khan: | And indeed We sent Nuh (Noah) to his people, and he said: "O my people! Worship Allah! You have no other Ilah (God) but Him (Islamic Monotheism). Will you not then be afraid (of Him i.e. of His punishment because of worshipping others besides Him)?" |
| French: | Nous envoyâmes Noé vers son peuple. Il dit: «O mon peuple, adorez Allah. Vous n'avez pas d'autre divinité en dehors de Lui. Ne [Le] craignez-vous pas?» |
| Spanish: | Enviamos Noé a su pueblo y dijo: «¡Pueblo! ¡Servid a Alá! No tenéis a ningún otro dios que a Él. ¿Y no Le temeréis?» |
| Indonesian: | Dan sesungguhnya Kami telah mengutus Nuh kepada kaumnya, lalu ia berkata: "Hai kaumku, sembahlah oleh kamu Allah, (karena) sekali-kali tidak ada Tuhan bagimu selain Dia. Maka mengapa kamu tidak bertakwa (kepada-Nya)?"

| Malay:: | Dan demi sesungguhnya, Kami telah mengutuskan Nabi Nuh kepada kaumnya lalu berkatalah ia: Wahai kaumku, sembahlah kamu akan Allah (sebenarnya) tidak ada Tuhan bagi kamu selain daripadaNya. Oleh itu, tidakkah kamu mahu bertakwa kepadaNya?.

| German: | Und Wir sandten bereits Nuh zu seinem Volk. Da sagte er: "O mein Volk, dient Allah. Keinen Gott habt ihr außer Ihm. Wollt ihr denn nicht gottesfürchtig sein?" |
| Russian: | Воистину, Мы направили Нуха (Ноя) к его народу, и он сказал: «О мой народ! Поклоняйтесь Аллаху, ибо нет у вас другого божества, кроме Него. Неужели вы не устрашитесь?». |
| Bosnian: | Mi smo poslali Nuha narodu njegovu, i on je govorio: "O narode moj, Allahu se samo klanjajte, vi drugog boga osim Njega nemate; zar se ne bojite?" |

| 24. | فَقَالَ الْمَلَأُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِن قَوْمِهِ مَا هَـٰذَا إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُكُمْ يُرِيدُ أَن يَتَفَضَّلَ عَلَيْكُمْ وَلَوْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ لَأَنزَلَ مَلَائِكَةً مَّا سَمِعْنَا بِهَـٰذَا فِي آبَائِنَا الْأَوَّلِينَ |
| Transliteration: | Faqala almalao allatheena kafaroo min qawmihi ma hatha illa basharun mithlukum yureedu an yatafaddala AAalaykum walaw shaa Allahu laanzala malaikatan ma samiAAna bihatha fee abaina alawwaleena |
| Yusuf Ali: | The chiefs of the Unbelievers among his people said: "He is no more than a man like yourselves: his wish is to assert his superiority over you: if Allah had wished (to send messengers), He could have sent down angels; never did we hear such a thing (as he says), among our ancestors of old." |
| Shakir: | And the chiefs of those who disbelieved from among his people said: He is nothing but a mortal like yourselves who desires that he may have superiority over you, and if Allah had pleased, He could certainly have sent down angels. We have not heard of this among our fathers of yore: |
| Pickthall: | But the chieftains of his folk, who disbelieved, said: This is only a mortal like you who would make himself superior to you. Had Allah willed, He surely could have sent down angels. We heard not of this in the case of our fathers of old. |
| Mohsin Khan: | But the chiefs of his people who disbelieved said: "He is no more than a human being like you, he seeks to make himself superior to you. Had Allah willed, He surely could have sent down angels. Never did we hear such a thing among our fathers of old. |
| French: | Alors les notables de son peuple qui avaient mécru dirent: «Celui-ci n'est qu'un être humain comme vous voulant se distinguer à votre détriment. Si Allah avait voulu, ce sont des Anges qu'Il aurait fait descendre. Jamais nous n'avons entendu cela chez nos ancêtres les plus reculés. |
| Spanish: | Los dignatarios del pueblo, que no creían, dijeron: «Éste no es sino un mortal como vosotros, que quiere imponerse a vosotros. Si Alá hubiera querido, habría hecho descender a ángeles. No hemos oído que ocurriera tal cosa en tiempo de nuestros antepasados. |
| Indonesian: | Maka pemuka-pemuka orang yang kafir di antara kaumnya menjawab: "Orang ini tidak lain hanyalah manusia seperti kamu, yang bermaksud hendak menjadi seorang yang lebih tinggi dari kamu. Dan kalau Allah menghendaki, tentu Dia mengutus beberapa orang malaikat. Belum pernah kami mendengar (seruan yang seperti) ini pada masa nenek moyang kami yang dahulu.

| Malay:: | Maka ketua-ketua yang kafir dari kaumnya berkata (sesama sendiri): Orang ini hanyalah seorang manusia seperti kamu, dia bertujuan hendak melebihkan dirinya daripada kamu dan kalaulah Allah berkehendak (mengutuskan seorang Rasul) tentulah Dia menurunkan malaikat menjadi RasulNya. Kami tidak pernah mendengar seruan seperti ini dalam kalangan datuk nenek kami yang telah lalu.

| German: | Da sagte die aus seinem Volk führende Schar, die ungläubig war: "Dieser ist nur ein menschliches Wesen wie ihr, das einen Vorzug euch gegenüber haben will. Und wenn Allah gewollt hätte, hätte Er wahrlich Engel herabgesandt. Wir haben so etwas bei unseren Vorvätern nicht gehört. |
| Russian: | Но знатные люди из его народа, которые не уверовали, сказали: «Он - такой же человек, как и вы. Он лишь хочет возвыситься над вами. Если бы Аллах пожелал, то Он ниспослал бы ангелов. Мы не слышали о подобном от наших праотцев. |
| Bosnian: | Ali su glavešine naroda njegova, koje nisu vjerovale, govorile: "Ovo je samo čovjek kao i vi, samo hoće da je od vas ugledniji. Da je Allah htio, meleke bi poslao; ovako nešto nismo čuli od naših predaka davnih, |
| Urdu: | سواس کی قوم کے کافر سرداروں نے کہا کہ یہ بس تم ہی جیسا آدمی ہے تم پر بڑائی حاصل کرنا چاہتا ہے اور اگر الله چاہتا تو فرشتے بھیج دیتا ہم نے اپنے پہلے باب دادا سے یہ بات کبھی نہیں سنی |

| 25. | إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا رَجُلٌ بِهِ جِنَّةٌ فَتَرَبَّصُوا بِهِ حَتَّىٰ حِينٍ |
| Transliteration: | In huwa illa rajulun bihi jinnatun fatarabbasoo bihi hatta heenin |
| Yusuf Ali: | (And some said): "He is only a man possessed: wait (and have patience) with him for a time." |
| Shakir: | He is only a madman, so bear with him for a time. |
| Pickthall: | He is only a man in whom is a madness, so watch him for a while. |
| Mohsin Khan: | "He is only a man in whom is madness, so wait for him a while." |
| French: | Ce n'est en vérité qu'un homme atteint de folie, observez-le donc durant quelque temps. |
| Spanish: | No es más que un poseso. ¡Observadle durante algún tiempo!» |
| Indonesian: | Ia tidak lain hanyalah seorang laki-laki yang berpenyakit gila, maka tunggulah (sabarlah) terhadapnya sampai suatu waktu."

| Russian: | Он - не кто иной, как бесноватый муж, так что обождите с ним до поры до времени». |

| 26. | قَالَ رَبِّ انصُرْنِي بِمَا كَذَّبُونِ |
| Transliteration: | Qala rabbi onsurnee bima kaththabooni |
| Yusuf Ali: | (Noah) said: "O my Lord! help me: for that they accuse me of falsehood!" |
| Shakir: | He said: O my Lord! help me against their calling me a liar. |
| Pickthall: | He said: My Lord! Help me because they deny me. |
| Mohsin Khan: | [Nuh (Noah)] said: "O my Lord! Help me because they deny me." |
| French: | Il dit: «Seigneur! Apporte-moi secours parce qu'ils me traitent de menteur». |
| Spanish: | «¡Señor!» dijo: «¡Auxíliame, que me desmienten!» |
| Indonesian: | Nuh berdo'a: "Ya Tuhanku, tolonglah aku karena mereka mendustakan aku."

| Malay:: | Nabi Nuh berdoa dengan berkata: Wahai Tuhanku tolonglah daku, kerana mereka mendustakan seruanku.

| 27. | فَأَوْحَيْنَا إِلَيْهِ أَنِ اصْنَعِ الْفُلْكَ بِأَعْيُنِنَا وَوَحْيِنَا فَإِذَا جَاءَ أَمْرُنَا وَفَارَ التَّنُّورُ ۙ فَاسْلُكْ فِيهَا مِن كُلٍّ زَوْجَيْنِ اثْنَيْنِ وَأَهْلَكَ إِلَّا مَن سَبَقَ عَلَيْهِ الْقَوْلُ مِنْهُمْ ۖ وَلَا تُخَاطِبْنِي فِي الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا ۖ إِنَّهُم مُّغْرَقُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Faawhayna ilayhi ani isnaAAi alfulka biaAAyunina wawahyina faitha jaa amruna wafara alttannooru faosluk feeha min kullin zawjayni ithnayni waahlaka illa man sabaqa AAalayhi alqawlu minhum wala tukhatibnee fee allatheena thalamoo innahum mughraqoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | So We inspired him (with this message): "Construct the Ark within Our sight and under Our guidance: then when comes Our Command, and the fountains of the earth gush forth, take thou on board pairs of every species, male and female, and thy family- except those of them against whom the Word has already gone forth: And address Me not in favour of the wrong-doers; for they shall be drowned (in the Flood). |
| Shakir: | So We revealed to him, saying: Make the ark before Our eyes and (according to) Our revelation; and when Our command is given and the valley overflows, take into it of every kind a pair, two, and your followers, except those among them against whom the word has gone forth, and do not speak to Me in respect of those who are unjust; surely they shall be drowned. |
| Pickthall: | Then We inspired in him, saying: Make the ship under Our eyes and Our inspiration. Then, when Our command cometh and the oven gusheth water, introduce therein of every (kind) two spouses, and thy household save him thereof against whom the Word hath already gone forth. And plead not with Me on behalf of those who have done wrong. Lo! they will be drowned. |
| Mohsin Khan: | So We revealed to him (saying): "Construct the ship under Our Eyes and under Our Revelation (guidance). Then, when Our Command comes, and water gushes forth from the oven, take on board of each kind two (male and female), and your family, except those thereof against whom the Word has already gone forth. And address Me not in favour of those who have done wrong. Verily, they are to be drowned. |
| French: | Nous lui révélâmes: «Construis l'arche sous Nos yeux et selon Notre révélation. Et quand Notre commandement viendra et que le four bouillonnera, achemine là-dedans un couple de chaque espèce, ainsi que ta famille, sauf ceux d'entre eux contre qui la parole a déjà été prononcée; et ne t'adresse pas à Moi au sujet des injustes, car ils seront fatalement noyés. |
| Spanish: | Y le inspiramos: «¡Construye la nave bajo Nuestra mirada y según Nuestra inspiración ! Y cuando venga Nuestra orden y el horno hierva, haz entrar en ella a una pareja de cada y a tu familia, salvo a aquél de ellos cuya suerte ha sido ya echada. ¡Y no me hables de los que hayan obrado impíamente! ¡Van a ser anegados! |
| Indonesian: | Lalu Kami wahyukan kepadanya: "Buatlah bahtera di bawah penilikan dan petunjuk Kami, maka apabila perintah Kami telah datang dan tannur telah memancarkan air, maka masukkanlah ke dalam bahtera itu sepasang dari tiap-tiap (jenis), dan (juga) keluargamu, kecuali orang yang telah lebih dahulu ditetapkan (akan ditimpa azab) di antara mereka. Dan janganlah kamu bicarakan dengan Aku tentang orang-orang yang zalim, karena sesungguhnya mereka itu akan ditenggelamkan.

| Malay:: | Lalu Kami wahyukan kepadanya: Buatlah bahtera dengan pengawasan serta kawalan Kami dan dengan panduan wahyu Kami (tentang cara membuatnya); kemudian apabila datang hukum Kami untuk membinasakan mereka dan air memancut-mancut dari muka bumi (yang menandakan kedatangan taufan), maka masukkanlah ke dalam bahtera itu dua dari tiap-tiap jenis haiwan (jantan dan betina) dan bawalah ahlimu (dan pengikut-pengikutmu) kecuali orang yang telah ditetapkan hukuman azab atasnya di antara mereka (disebabkan kekufurannya) dan janganlah engkau merayu kepadaku untuk menolong kaum yang zalim itu, kerana sesungguhnya mereka akan ditenggelamkan dengan taufan sehingga mati lemas.

| German: | Da gaben Wir ihm ein: "Verfertige das Schiff vor Unseren Augen und nach Unserer Eingebung. Wenn dann Unser Befehl kommt und der Ofen brodelt, so führe von jeder (Art) ein Paar und deine Angehörigen hinein, außer gegen wen das Wort vorher ergangen ist. Und sprich Mich nicht an zugunsten derjenigen, die Unrecht getan haben; sie werden ertränkt werden. |
| Russian: | Мы внушили ему откровение: «Сооруди ковчег у Нас на Глазах согласно Нашему откровению. А когда явится Наше веление, и вода забьет фонтаном из печи, то погрузи на него по паре всего живого, а также свою семью, кроме тех, о чьей гибели уже было ниспослано Мое веление. И не проси Меня за тех, которые поступали несправедливо. Они будут потоплены. |
| Bosnian: | I Mi mu objavismo: "Gradi lađu pod Našom pažnjom i prema Našem nadahnuću, pa kad zapovijed Naša dođe i voda na površinu zemlje izbije, ti u nju ukrcaj od svake vrste po par, mužjaka i ženku, i čeljad svoju, ali ne one o kojima je već sud donesen, i ne obraćaj Mi se za nevjernike, jer će, doista, biti potopljeni. |
| Urdu: | پھر ہم نے اس کی طرف وحی کی کہ ہماری آنکھوں کے سامنے اور ہمارے حکم سے کشتی بنا پھر جب ہمارا حکم آ پہنچے اور تنور ابلنے لگے پس تو کشتی میں ہر چیز کا جوڑا نر مادہ اور اپنے گھر والوں کو بٹھا لے مگر ان میں سے وہ شخص جس کے لیے پہلے فیصلہ ہو چکا ہے او رظالموں کے معاملہ میں مجھ سے بات نہ کر بے شک وہ غرق کیے جائیں گے |

| 28. | فَإِذَا اسْتَوَيْتَ أَنتَ وَمَن مَّعَكَ عَلَى الْفُلْكِ فَقُلِ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي نَجَّانَا مِنَ الْقَوْمِ الظَّالِمِينَ |
| Transliteration: | Faitha istawayta anta waman maAAaka AAala alfulki faquli alhamdu lillahi allathee najjana mina alqawmi alththalimeena |
| Yusuf Ali: | And when thou hast embarked on the Ark - thou and those with thee,- say: "Praise be to Allah, Who has saved us from the people who do wrong." |
| Shakir: | And when you are firmly seated, you and those with you, in the ark, say: All praise is due to Allah who delivered us from the unjust people: |
| Pickthall: | And when thou art on board the ship, thou and whoso is with thee, then say: Praise be to Allah Who hath saved us from the wrongdoing folk! |
| Mohsin Khan: | And when you have embarked on the ship, you and whoever is with you, then say: "All the praises and thanks be to Allah, Who has saved us from the people who are Zalimun (i.e. oppressors, wrong-doers, polytheists, those who join others in worship with Allah). |
| French: | Et lorsque tu seras installé, toi et ceux qui sont avec toi, dans l'arche, dis: «Louange à Allah qui nous a sauvés du peuple des injustes». |
| Spanish: | Cuando tú y los tuyos estéis instalados en la nave, di: '¡Alabado sea Alá, Que nos ha salvado del pueblo impío!' |
| Indonesian: | Apabila kamu dan orang-orang yang bersamamu telah berada di atas bahtera itu, maka ucapkanlah: "Segala puji bagi Allah yang telah menyelamatkan kami dari orang-orang yang zalim."

| Malay:: | Kemudian apabila engkau dan orang-orang yang bersamamu telah berada di atas bahtera itu maka hendaklah engkau (bersyukur kepada Allah dengan) berkata: Segala puji tertentu bagi Allah yang telah menyelamatkan kami daripada orang-orang yang zalim.

| German: | Und wenn du dich nun auf dem Schiff eingerichtet hast, du und diejenigen, die mit dir sind, dann sag: (Alles) Lob gehört Allah, Der uns von dem ungerechten Volk errettet hat! |
| Russian: | А когда ты и те, кто с тобой, сядете в ковчег, скажи: «Хвала Аллаху, Который спас нас от несправедливых людей!» |

| 29. | وَقُل رَّبِّ أَنزِلْنِي مُنزَلًا مُّبَارَكًا وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ الْمُنزِلِينَ |
| Transliteration: | Waqul rabbi anzilnee munzalan mubarakan waanta khayru almunzileena |
| Yusuf Ali: | And say: "O my Lord! enable me to disembark with thy blessing: for Thou art the Best to enable (us) to disembark." |
| Shakir: | And say: O my Lord! cause me to disembark a blessed alighting, and Thou art the best to cause to alight. |
| Pickthall: | And say: My Lord! Cause me to land at a blessed landing-place, for Thou art Best of all who bring to land. |
| Mohsin Khan: | And say: "My Lord! Cause me to land at a blessed landing-place, for You are the Best of those who bring to land." |
| French: | Et dis: «Seigneur, fais-moi débarquer d'un débarquement béni. Tu es Celui qui procure le meilleur débarquement». |

| 30. | إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ وَإِن كُنَّا لَمُبْتَلِينَ |
| Transliteration: | Inna fee thalika laayatin wain kunna lamubtaleena |
| Yusuf Ali: | Verily in this there are Signs (for men to understand); (thus) do We try (men). |
| Shakir: | Most surely there are signs in this, and most surely We are ever trying (men). |
| Pickthall: | Lo! herein verily are portents, for lo! We are ever putting (mankind) to the test. |
| Mohsin Khan: | Verily, in this [what We did as regards drowning of the people of Nuh (Noah)], there are indeed Ayat (proofs, evidence, lessons, signs, etc. for men to understand), for sure We are ever putting (men) to the test. |
| French: | Voilà bien là des signes. Nous sommes certes Celui qui éprouve. |
| Spanish: | Ciertamente, hay en ello signos. En verdad, ponemos a prueba...» |
| Indonesian: | Sesungguhnya pada (kejadian) itu benar-benar terdapat beberapa tanda (kebesaran Allah), dan sesungguhnya Kami menimpakan azab (kepada kaum Nuh itu).

| Malay:: | Sesungguhnya pada yang demikian itu terdapat tanda-tanda (yang mendatangkan iktibar) dan sesungguhnya Kami tetap menguji (hamba-hamba Kami).

| 31. | ثُمَّ أَنشَأْنَا مِن بَعْدِهِمْ قَرْنًا آخَرِينَ |
| Transliteration: | Thumma anshana min baAAdihim qarnan akhareena |
| Yusuf Ali: | Then We raised after them another generation. |
| Shakir: | Then We raised up after them another generation. |
| Pickthall: | Then, after them, We brought forth another generation; |
| Mohsin Khan: | Then, after them, We created another generation. |
| French: | Puis, après eux, Nous avons créé d'autres générations, |
| Spanish: | Luego, después de ellos, suscitamos otra generación |
| Indonesian: | Kemudian, Kami jadikan sesudah mereka umat yang lain

| 32. | فَأَرْسَلْنَا فِيهِمْ رَسُولًا مِّنْهُمْ أَنِ اعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَـٰهٍ غَيْرُهُ ۖ أَفَلَا تَتَّقُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Faarsalna feehim rasoolan minhum ani oAAbudoo Allaha ma lakum min ilahin ghayruhu afala tattaqoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | And We sent to them a messenger from among themselves, (saying), "Worship Allah! ye have no other god but Him. Will ye not fear (Him)?" |
| Shakir: | So We sent among them an apostle from among them, saying: Serve Allah, you have no god other than Him; will you not then guard (against evil)? |
| Pickthall: | And we sent among them a messenger of their own, saying: Serve Allah, Ye have no other Allah save Him. Will ye not ward off (evil)? |
| Mohsin Khan: | And We sent to them a Messenger from among themselves (saying): "Worship Allah! You have no other Ilah (God) but Him. Will you not then be afraid (of Him i.e. of His punishment because of worshipping others besides Him)?" |
| French: | Nous envoyâmes parmi elles un Messager [issu] d'elles pour leur dire: «Adorez Allah. Vous n'avez pas d'autre divinité en dehors de Lui. Ne le craignez-vous pas?» |
| Spanish: | y les mandamos un enviado salido de ellos: «¡Servid a Alá! No tenéis a ningún otro dios que a Él ¿Y no Le temeréis?» |
| Indonesian: | Lalu Kami utus kepada mereka, seorang rasul dari kalangan mereka sendiri (yang berkata): "Sembahlah Allah oleh kamu sekalian, sekali-kali tidak ada Tuhan selain daripada-Nya. Maka mengapa kamu tidak bertakwa (kepada-Nya)".

| Malay:: | Lalu Kami mengutus kepada mereka seorang Rasul dari kalangan mereka (dengan berfirman melalui Rasul itu): Sembahlah kamu akan Allah, (sebenarnya) tidak ada Tuhan bagi kamu selain daripadaNya. Oleh itu tidakkah kamu mahu bertakwa kepadaNya?

| 33. | وَقَالَ الْمَلَأُ مِن قَوْمِهِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا وَكَذَّبُوا بِلِقَاءِ الْآخِرَةِ وَأَتْرَفْنَاهُمْ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا مَا هَـٰذَا إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُكُمْ يَأْكُلُ مِمَّا تَأْكُلُونَ مِنْهُ وَيَشْرَبُ مِمَّا تَشْرَبُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Waqala almalao min qawmihi allatheena kafaroo wakaththaboo biliqai alakhirati waatrafnahum fee alhayati alddunya ma hatha illa basharun mithlukum yakulu mimma takuloona minhu wayashrabu mimma tashraboona |
| Yusuf Ali: | And the chiefs of his people, who disbelieved and denied the Meeting in the Hereafter, and on whom We had bestowed the good things of this life, said: "He is no more than a man like yourselves: he eats of that of which ye eat, and drinks of what ye drink. |
| Shakir: | And the chiefs of his people who disbelieved and called the meeting of the hereafter a lie, and whom We had given plenty to enjoy in this world's life, said: This is nothing but a mortal like yourselves, eating of what you eat from and drinking of what you drink. |
| Pickthall: | And the chieftains of his folk, who disbelieved and denied the meeting of the Hereafter, and whom We had made soft in the life of the world, said: This is only a mortal like you, who eateth of that whereof ye eat and drinketh of that ye drink. |
| Mohsin Khan: | And the chiefs of his people who disbelieved and denied the Meeting in the Hereafter, and whom We had given the luxuries and comforts of this life, said: "He is no more than a human being like you, he eats of that which you eat, and drinks of what you drink. |
| French: | Les notables de son peuple qui avaient mécru et traité de mensonge la rencontre de l'au-delà, et auxquels Nous avions accordé le luxe dans la vie présente, dirent: «Celui-ci n'est qu'un être humain comme vous, mangeant de ce que vous mangez, et buvant de ce que vous buvez. |
| Spanish: | Pero los dignatarios del pueblo, que no creían y desmentían la existencia de la otra vida y a los cuales habíamos enriquecido en la vida de acá, dijeron: «Éste no es sino un mortal como vosotros, que come de lo mismo que vosotros coméis y bebe de lo mismo que vosotros bebéis». |
| Indonesian: | Dan berkatalah pemuka-pemuka yang kafir di antara kaumnya dan yang mendustakan akan menemui hari akhirat (kelak) dan yang telah Kami mewahkan mereka dalam kehidupan di dunia: "(Orang) ini tidak lain hanyalah manusia seperti kamu, dia makan dari apa yang kamu makan, dan meminum dari apa yang kamu minum.

| German: | Und die führende Schar aus seinem Volk, die ungläubig war und die Begegnung mit dem Jenseits für Lüge erklärte und der Wir im diesseitigen Leben üppigen Wohlstand verliehen hatten, sagte: "Dieser ist nur ein menschliches Wesen wie ihr, das von dem ißt, was ihr eßt, und von dem trinkt, was ihr trinkt. |
| Russian: | Знатные люди из его народа, которые не уверовали и отрицали встречу в Последней жизни, которых Мы одарили щедрыми благами в мирской жизни, сказали: «Это - всего лишь человек, подобный вам. Он ест то, что вы едите, и пьет то, что вы пьете. |
| Bosnian: | Ali bi glavešine naroda njegova, koji nisu vjerovali, koji su poricali da će na onome svijetu biti oživljeni i kojima smo dali da u životu na ovome svijetu raskošno žive, govorili: "On je čovjek kao i vi; jede ono što i vi jedete, i pije ono što i vi pijete; |
| Urdu: | اوراس کی قوم کے سرداروں نے کہا جنہوں نے کفر کیا تھا اور قیامت کی آمد کو جھٹلاتے تھے اور جنہیں ہم نے دنیا کی زندگی میں آسودہ کر رکھا تھا کہ یہ بس تمہیں جیسا آدمی ہے وہی کھاتا ہے جو تم کھاتے ہو اور وہی پیتا ہے جو تم پیتے ہو |

| 34. | وَلَئِنْ أَطَعْتُم بَشَرًا مِّثْلَكُمْ إِنَّكُمْ إِذًا لَّخَاسِرُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Walain ataAAtum basharan mithlakum innakum ithan lakhasiroona |
| Yusuf Ali: | "If ye obey a man like yourselves, behold, it is certain ye will be lost. |
| Shakir: | And if you obey a mortal like yourselves, then most surely you will be losers: |
| Pickthall: | If ye were to obey a mortal like yourselves, then, lo! ye surely would be losers. |
| Mohsin Khan: | "If you were to obey a human being like yourselves, then verily you indeed would be losers. |
| French: | Si vous obéissez à un homme comme vous, vous serez alors perdants. |
| Spanish: | Si obedecéis a un mortal como vosotros, estáis perdidos. |
| Indonesian: | Dan sesungguhnya jika kamu sekalian menta'ati manusia yang seperti kamu, niscaya bila demikian, kamu benar-benar (menjadi) orang-orang yang merugi.

| 35. | أَيَعِدُكُمْ أَنَّكُمْ إِذَا مِتُّمْ وَكُنتُمْ تُرَابًا وَعِظَامًا أَنَّكُم مُّخْرَجُونَ |
| Transliteration: | AyaAAidukum annakum itha mittum wakuntum turaban waAAithaman annakum mukhrajoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | "Does he promise that when ye die and become dust and bones, ye shall be brought forth (again)? |
| Shakir: | What! does he threaten you that when you are dead and become dust and bones that you shall then be brought forth? |
| Pickthall: | Doth he promise you that you, when ye are dead and have become dust and bones, will (again) be brought forth? |
| Mohsin Khan: | "Does he promise you that when you have died and have become dust and bones, you shall come out alive (resurrected)? |
| French: | Vous promet-il, quand vous serez morts, et devenus poussière et ossements, que vous serez sortis [de vos sépulcres]? |
| Spanish: | ¿Os ha prometido que se os sacará cuando muráis y seáis tierra y huesos? |

| 36. | ۞ هَيْهَاتَ هَيْهَاتَ لِمَا تُوعَدُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Hayhata hayhata lima tooAAadoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | "Far, very far is that which ye are promised! |
| Shakir: | Far, far is that which you are threatened with. |
| Pickthall: | Begone, begone, with that which ye are promised! |
| Mohsin Khan: | "Far, very far is that which you are promised! |
| French: | Loin, loin, ce qu'on vous promet! |
| Spanish: | ¡Está bien lejos de ocurrir lo que se os ha prometido! |

| 37. | إِنْ هِيَ إِلَّا حَيَاتُنَا الدُّنْيَا نَمُوتُ وَنَحْيَا وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَبْعُوثِينَ |
| Transliteration: | In hiya illa hayatuna alddunya namootu wanahya wama nahnu bimabAAootheena |
| Yusuf Ali: | "There is nothing but our life in this world! We shall die and we live! But we shall never be raised up again! |
| Shakir: | There is naught but our life in this world; we die and we live and we shall not be raised again. |
| Pickthall: | There is naught but our life of the world; we die and we live, and we shall not be raised (again). |
| Mohsin Khan: | "There is nothing but our life of this world! We die and we live! And we are not going to be resurrected! |
| French: | Ce n'est là que notre vie présente: nous mourons et nous vivons; et nous ne serons jamais ressuscités. |

| 38. | إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا رَجُلٌ افْتَرَىٰ عَلَى اللَّهِ كَذِبًا وَمَا نَحْنُ لَهُ بِمُؤْمِنِينَ |
| Transliteration: | In huwa illa rajulun iftara AAala Allahi kathiban wama nahnu lahu bimumineena |
| Yusuf Ali: | "He is only a man who invents a lie against Allah, but we are not the ones to believe in him!" |
| Shakir: | He is naught but a man who has forged a lie against Allah, and we are not going to believe in him. |
| Pickthall: | He is only a man who hath invented a lie about Allah. We are not going to put faith in him. |
| Mohsin Khan: | "He is only a man who has invented a lie against Allah, and we are not going to believe in him." |

| 39. | قَالَ رَبِّ انصُرْنِي بِمَا كَذَّبُونِ |
| Transliteration: | Qala rabbi onsurnee bima kaththabooni |
| Yusuf Ali: | (The prophet) said: "O my Lord! help me: for that they accuse me of falsehood." |
| Shakir: | He said: O my Lord! help me against their calling me a liar. |
| Pickthall: | He said: My Lord! Help me because they deny me. |
| Mohsin Khan: | He said: "O my Lord! Help me because they deny me." |
| French: | Il dit: «Seigneur! Apporte-moi secours parce qu'ils me traitent de menteur». |
| Spanish: | Dijo: «¡Señor! ¡Auxíliame, que me desmienten!» |

| 40. | قَالَ عَمَّا قَلِيلٍ لَّيُصْبِحُنَّ نَادِمِينَ |
| Transliteration: | Qala AAamma qaleelin layusbihunna nadimeena |
| Yusuf Ali: | (Allah) said: "In but a little while, they are sure to be sorry!" |
| Shakir: | He said: In a little while they will most certainly be repenting. |
| Pickthall: | He said: In a little while they surely will become repentant. |
| Mohsin Khan: | (Allah) said: "In a little while, they are sure to be regretful." |
| French: | [Allah] dit: «Oui, bientôt ils en viendront aux regrets». |
| Spanish: | Dijo: «Un poco más y se arrepentirán». |
| Indonesian: | Allah berfirman: "Dalam sedikit waktu lagi pasti mereka akan menjadi orang-orang yang menyesal."

| 41. | فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ الصَّيْحَةُ بِالْحَقِّ فَجَعَلْنَاهُمْ غُثَاءً ۚ فَبُعْدًا لِّلْقَوْمِ الظَّالِمِينَ |
| Transliteration: | Faakhathathumu alssayhatu bialhaqqi fajaAAalnahum ghuthaan fabuAAdan lilqawmi alththalimeena |
| Yusuf Ali: | Then the Blast overtook them with justice, and We made them as rubbish of dead leaves (floating on the stream of Time)! So away with the people who do wrong! |
| Shakir: | So the punishment overtook them in justice, and We made them as rubbish; so away with the unjust people. |
| Pickthall: | So the (Awful) Cry overtook them rightfully, and We made them like as wreckage (that a torrent hurleth). A far removal for wrongdoing folk! |
| Mohsin Khan: | So As-Saihah (torment - awful cry) overtook them in truth (with justice), and We made them as rubbish of dead plants. So away with the people who are Zalimun (polytheists, wrong-doers, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, disobedient to His Messengers). |
| French: | Le cri, donc, les saisit en toute justice; puis Nous les rendîmes semblables à des débris emportés par le torrent. Que disparaissent à jamais les injustes! |
| Spanish: | El Grito les sorprendió merecidamente y les convertimos en detrito. ¡Atrás el pueblo impío! |
| Indonesian: | Maka dimusnahkanlah mereka oleh suara yang mengguntur dengan hak dan Kami jadikan mereka (sebagai) sampah banjir maka kebinasaanlah bagi orang-orang yang zalim itu.

| 42. | ثُمَّ أَنشَأْنَا مِن بَعْدِهِمْ قُرُونًا آخَرِينَ |
| Transliteration: | Thumma anshana min baAAdihim quroonan akhareena |
| Yusuf Ali: | Then We raised after them other generations. |
| Shakir: | Then We raised after them other generations. |
| Pickthall: | Then after them We brought forth other generations. |
| Mohsin Khan: | Then, after them, We created other generations. |
| French: | Puis après eux Nous avons créé d'autres générations. |

| 43. | مَا تَسْبِقُ مِنْ أُمَّةٍ أَجَلَهَا وَمَا يَسْتَأْخِرُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Ma tasbiqu min ommatin ajalaha wama yastakhiroona |
| Yusuf Ali: | No people can hasten their term, nor can they delay (it). |
| Shakir: | No people can hasten on their doom nor can they postpone (it). |
| Pickthall: | No nation can outstrip its term, nor yet postpone it. |
| Mohsin Khan: | No nation can advance their term, nor can they delay it. |
| French: | Nulle communauté ne peut avancer ni reculer son terme. |

| 44. | ثُمَّ أَرْسَلْنَا رُسُلَنَا تَتْرَىٰ ۖ كُلَّ مَا جَاءَ أُمَّةً رَّسُولُهَا كَذَّبُوهُ ۚ فَأَتْبَعْنَا بَعْضَهُم بَعْضًا وَجَعَلْنَاهُمْ أَحَادِيثَ ۚ فَبُعْدًا لِّقَوْمٍ لَّا يُؤْمِنُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Thumma arsalna rusulana tatra kulla ma jaa ommatan rasooluha kaththaboohu faatbaAAna baAAdahum baAAdan wajaAAalnahum ahadeetha fabuAAdan liqawmin la yuminoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | Then sent We our messengers in succession: every time there came to a people their messenger, they accused him of falsehood: so We made them follow each other (in punishment): We made them as a tale (that is told): So away with a people that will not believe! |
| Shakir: | Then We sent Our apostles one after another; whenever there came to a people their apostle, they called him a liar, so We made some of them follow others and We made them stories; so away with a people who do not believe! |
| Pickthall: | Then We sent our messengers one after another. Whenever its messenger came unto a nation they denied him; so We caused them to follow one another (to disaster) and We made them bywords. A far removal for folk who believe not! |
| Mohsin Khan: | Then We sent Our Messengers in succession. Every time there came to a nation their Messenger, they denied him; so We made them follow one another (to destruction), and We made them as Ahadith (the true stories for mankind to learn a lesson from them). So away with a people who believe not! |
| French: | Ensuite, Nous envoyâmes successivement Nos messagers. Chaque fois qu'un messager se présentait à sa communauté, ils le traitaient de menteur. Et Nous les fîmes succéder les unes aux autres [dans la destruction], et Nous en fîmes des thèmes de récits légendaires. Que disparaissent à jamais les gens qui ne croient pas! |
| Spanish: | Luego, mandamos a Nuestros enviados, uno tras otro. Siempre que venía un enviado a su comunidad, le desmentían. Hicimos que a unas generaciones les siguieran otras y las hicimos legendarias. ¡Atrás una gente que no cree! |
| Indonesian: | Kemudian Kami utus (kepada umat-umat itu) rasul-rasul Kami berturut-turut. Tiap-tiap seorang rasul datang kepada umatnya, umat itu mendustakannya, maka Kami perikutkan sebagian mereka dengan sebagian yang lain . Dan Kami jadikan mereka buah tutur (manusia), maka kebinasaanlah bagi orang-orang yang tidak beriman.

| Malay:: | Kemudian Kami mengutus Rasul-rasul Kami silih berganti. Tiap-tiap kali sesuatu umat didatangi Rasulnya, mereka mendustakannya; lalu Kami binasakan umat-umat yang demikian, lepas satu-satu dan Kami jadikan perihal mereka sebagai cerita-cerita (yang mendatangkan iktibar); maka kebinasaanlah kesudahannya bagi orang-orang yang tidak beriman.

| Bosnian: | i poslanike, jedne za drugim slali. Kad bi jednom narodu došao njegov poslanik, u laž bi ga utjerivali, i Mi smo ih zato jedne drugima smjenjivali, i samo u pričama o njima spomen sačuvali – daleko bili ljudi koji nisu vjerovali! |
| Urdu: | پھر ہم اپنے رسول لگاتار بھیجتے رہے جب کوئی رسول اپنی قوم کے پاس آیا وہ اسے جھٹلاتی ہی رہی پھر ہم بھی ایک کے بعد دوسری کو ہلاک کرتے گئے اور ہم نے ان کو افسانے بنا دیے پھر ان لوگوں پر پھٹکار ہے جو ایمان نہیں لاتے |

| 45. | ثُمَّ أَرْسَلْنَا مُوسَىٰ وَأَخَاهُ هَارُونَ بِآيَاتِنَا وَسُلْطَانٍ مُّبِينٍ |
| Transliteration: | Thumma arsalna moosa waakhahu haroona biayatina wasultanin mubeenin |
| Yusuf Ali: | Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron, with Our Signs and authority manifest, |
| Shakir: | Then We sent Musa and his brother Haroun, with Our communications and a clear authority, |
| Pickthall: | Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our tokens and a clear warrant |
| Mohsin Khan: | Then We sent Musa (Moses) and his brother Harun (Aaron), with Our Ayat (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) and manifest authority, |
| French: | Ensuite, Nous envoyâmes Moïse et son frère Aaron avec Nos prodiges et une preuve évidente, |

| 46. | إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ وَمَلَئِهِ فَاسْتَكْبَرُوا وَكَانُوا قَوْمًا عَالِينَ |
| Transliteration: | Ila firAAawna wamalaihi faistakbaroo wakanoo qawman AAaleena |
| Yusuf Ali: | To Pharaoh and his Chiefs: But these behaved insolently: they were an arrogant people. |
| Shakir: | To Firon and his chiefs, but they behaved haughtily and they were an insolent people. |
| Pickthall: | Unto Pharaoh and his chiefs, but they scorned (them) and they were despotic folk. |
| Mohsin Khan: | To Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and his chiefs, but they behaved insolently and they were people self-exalting (by disobeying their Lord, and exalting themselves over and above the Messenger of Allah). |
| French: | vers Pharaon et ses notables mais ceux-ci s'enflèrent d'orgueil: ils étaient des gens hautains. |
| Spanish: | a Faraón y a sus dignatarios, que fueron altivos. Eran gente arrogante. |

| 47. | فَقَالُوا أَنُؤْمِنُ لِبَشَرَيْنِ مِثْلِنَا وَقَوْمُهُمَا لَنَا عَابِدُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Faqaloo anuminu libasharayni mithlina waqawmuhuma lana AAabidoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | They said: "Shall we believe in two men like ourselves? And their people are subject to us!" |
| Shakir: | And they said: What! shall we believe in two mortals like ourselves while their people serve us? |
| Pickthall: | And they said: Shall we put faith in two mortals like ourselves, and whose folk are servile unto us? |
| Mohsin Khan: | They said: "Shall we believe in two men like ourselves, and their people are obedient to us with humility (and we use them to serve us as we like)." |
| French: | Ils dirent: «Croirons-nous en deux hommes comme nous dont les congénères sont nos esclaves». |
| Spanish: | Dijeron: «¿Vamos a creer a dos mortales como nosotros, mientras su pueblo nos sirve de esclavos?» |
| Indonesian: | Dan mereka berkata: "Apakah (patut) kita percaya kepada dua orang manusia seperti kita (juga), padahal kaum mereka (Bani Israil) adalah orang-orang yang menghambakan diri kepada kita?"

| German: | Sie sagten: "Sollen wir denn zwei menschlichen Wesen unseresgleichen glauben, wo doch ihr Volk in unserem Dienst steht?" |
| Russian: | Они сказали: «Неужели мы уверуем в двух людей, которые подобны нам, тогда как их народ служит нам?». |
| Bosnian: | "Zar da povjerujemo dvojici ljudi koji su isti kao i mi, a narod njihov je roblje naše?" – govorili su, |

| 48. | فَكَذَّبُوهُمَا فَكَانُوا مِنَ الْمُهْلَكِينَ |
| Transliteration: | Fakaththaboohuma fakanoo mina almuhlakeena |
| Yusuf Ali: | So they accused them of falsehood, and they became of those who were destroyed. |
| Shakir: | So they rejected them and became of those who were destroyed. |
| Pickthall: | So they denied them, and became of those who were destroyed. |
| Mohsin Khan: | So they denied them both [Musa (Moses) and Harun (Aaron)] and became of those who were destroyed. |
| French: | Ils les traitèrent [tous deux] de menteurs et ils furent donc parmi les anéantis. |
| Spanish: | Les desmintieron y fueron hechos perecer. |

| 49. | وَلَقَدْ آتَيْنَا مُوسَى الْكِتَابَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَهْتَدُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Walaqad atayna moosa alkitaba laAAallahum yahtadoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | And We gave Moses the Book, in order that they might receive guidance. |
| Shakir: | And certainly We gave Musa the Book that they may follow a right direction. |
| Pickthall: | And We verily gave Moses the Scripture, that haply they might go aright. |
| Mohsin Khan: | And indeed We gave Musa (Moses) the Scripture, that they may be guided. |
| French: | Et Nous avions apporté le Livre à Moïse afin qu'ils se guident. |
| Spanish: | Dimos a Moisés la Escritura. Quizás, así, fueran bien dirigidos. |
| Indonesian: | Dan sesungguhnya telah Kami berikan Al Kitab (Taurat) kepada Musa, agar mereka (Bani Israil) mendapat petunjuk.

| 50. | وَجَعَلْنَا ابْنَ مَرْيَمَ وَأُمَّهُ آيَةً وَآوَيْنَاهُمَا إِلَىٰ رَبْوَةٍ ذَاتِ قَرَارٍ وَمَعِينٍ |
| Transliteration: | WajaAAalna ibna maryama waommahu ayatan waawaynahuma ila rabwatin thati qararin wamaAAeenin |
| Yusuf Ali: | And We made the son of Mary and his mother as a Sign: We gave them both shelter on high ground, affording rest and security and furnished with springs. |
| Shakir: | And We made the son of Marium and his mother a sign, and We gave them a shelter on a lofty ground having meadows and springs. |
| Pickthall: | And We made the son of Mary and his mother a portent, and We gave them refuge on a height, a place of flocks and watersprings. |
| Mohsin Khan: | And We made the son of Maryam (Mary) and his mother as a sign, and We gave them refuge on high ground, a place of rest, security and flowing streams. |
| French: | Et Nous fîmes du fils de Marie, ainsi que de sa mère, un prodige; et Nous donnâmes à tous deux asile sur une colline bien stable et dotée d'une source. |

| Indonesian: | Dan telah Kami jadikan ('Isa) putera Maryam beserta ibunya suatu bukti yang nyata bagi (kekuasaan Kami), dan Kami melindungi mereka di suatu tanah tinggi yang datar yang banyak terdapat padang-padang rumput dan sumber-sumber air bersih yang mengalir .

| German: | Und Wir machten den Sohn Maryams und seine Mutter zu einem Zeichen und gewährten ihnen Zuflucht auf einer Anhöhe mit festem Grund und Quellwasser. |

| 51. | يَا أَيُّهَا الرُّسُلُ كُلُوا مِنَ الطَّيِّبَاتِ وَاعْمَلُوا صَالِحًا ۖ إِنِّي بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ عَلِيمٌ |
| Transliteration: | Ya ayyuha alrrusulu kuloo mina alttayyibati waiAAmaloo salihan innee bima taAAmaloona AAaleemun |
| Yusuf Ali: | O ye messengers! enjoy (all) things good and pure, and work righteousness: for I am well-acquainted with (all) that ye do. |
| Shakir: | O apostles! eat of the good things and do good; surely I know what you do. |
| Pickthall: | O ye messengers! Eat of the good things, and do right. Lo! I am Aware of what ye do. |
| Mohsin Khan: | O (you) Messengers! Eat of the Tayyibat [all kinds of Halal foods which Allah has made lawful (meat of slaughtered eatable animals, milk products, fats, vegetables, fruits, etc.] and do righteous deeds. Verily! I am Well-Acquainted with what you do. |
| French: | O Messagers! Mangez de ce qui est permis et agréable et faites du bien. Car Je sais parfaitement ce que vous faites. |
| Spanish: | «¡Enviados! ¡Comed de las cosas buenas y obrad bien! ¡Yo sé bien lo que hacéis! |
| Indonesian: | Hai rasul-rasul, makanlah dari makanan yang baik-baik, dan kerjakanlah amal yang saleh. Sesungguhnya Aku Maha Mengetahui apa yang kamu kerjakan.

| German: | "O ihr Gesandten, eßt von den guten Dingen und handelt rechtschaffen; gewiß, Ich weiß über das, was ihr tut, Bescheid. |

| Bosnian: | "O poslanici, dozvoljenim i lijepim jelima se hranite i dobra djela činite, jer Ja dobro znam što vi radite! |

| 52. | وَإِنَّ هَـٰذِهِ أُمَّتُكُمْ أُمَّةً وَاحِدَةً وَأَنَا رَبُّكُمْ فَاتَّقُونِ |
| Transliteration: | Wainna hathihi ommatukum ommatan wahidatan waana rabbukum faittaqooni |
| Yusuf Ali: | And verily this Brotherhood of yours is a single Brotherhood, and I am your Lord and Cherisher: therefore fear Me (and no other). |
| Shakir: | And surely this your religion is one religion and I am your Lord, therefore be careful (of your duty) to Me. |
| Pickthall: | And lo! this your religion is one religion and I am your Lord, so keep your duty unto Me. |
| Mohsin Khan: | And verily this your religion (of Islamic Monotheism) is one religion, and I am your Lord, so fear (keep your duty to) Me. |
| French: | Cette communauté, la vôtre, est une seule communauté, tandis que Je suis votre Seigneur. Craignez-Moi donc». |
| Spanish: | Y ésta es vuestra comunidad. Es una sola comunidad. Y Yo soy vuestro Señor. ¡Temedme, pues!» |

| 53. | فَتَقَطَّعُوا أَمْرَهُم بَيْنَهُمْ زُبُرًا ۖ كُلُّ حِزْبٍ بِمَا لَدَيْهِمْ فَرِحُونَ |
| Transliteration: | FataqattaAAoo amrahum baynahum zuburan kullu hizbin bima ladayhim farihoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | But people have cut off their affair (of unity), between them, into sects: each party rejoices in that which is with itself. |
| Shakir: | But they cut off their religion among themselves into sects, each part rejoicing in that which is with them. |
| Pickthall: | But they (mankind) have broken their religion among them into sects, each group rejoicing in its tenets. |
| Mohsin Khan: | But they (men) have broken their religion among them into sects, each group rejoicing in what is with it (as its beliefs). |
| French: | Mais ils se sont divisés en sectes, chaque secte exultant de ce qu'elle détenait. |
| Spanish: | Pero se dividieron en sectas, con Escrituras, contento cada grupo con lo suyo. |
| Indonesian: | Kemudian mereka (pengikut-pengikut rasul itu) menjadikan agama mereka terpecah belah menjadi beberapa pecahan. Tiap-tiap golongan merasa bangga dengan apa yang ada pada sisi mereka (masing-masing).

| Malay:: | Kemudian umat Rasul-rasul itu berpecah-belah dalam urusan agama mereka kepada beberapa pecahan, tiap-tiap golongan bergembira dengan apa yang ada pada mereka.

| German: | Aber sie spalteten sich in ihrer Angelegenheit untereinander nach (verschiedenen) Büchern'; und jede Gruppierung ist froh über das, was sie bei sich hat. |
| Russian: | Но они разорвали свою религию на части, и каждая секта радуется тому, что имеет. |
| Bosnian: | A oni su se u pitanjima vjere svoje podijelili na skupine, svaka stranka radosna onim što ispovijeda, |

| 54. | فَذَرْهُمْ فِي غَمْرَتِهِمْ حَتَّىٰ حِينٍ |
| Transliteration: | Fatharhum fee ghamratihim hatta heenin |
| Yusuf Ali: | But leave them in their confused ignorance for a time. |
| Shakir: | Therefore leave them in their overwhelming ignorance till |
| Pickthall: | So leave them in their error till a time. |
| Mohsin Khan: | So leave them in their error for a time. |
| French: | Laisse-les dans leur égarement pour un certain temps. |
| Spanish: | Déjales por algún tiempo en su abismo. |
| Indonesian: | Maka biarkanlah mereka dalam kesesatannya sampai suatu waktu.

| 55. | أَيَحْسَبُونَ أَنَّمَا نُمِدُّهُم بِهِ مِن مَّالٍ وَبَنِينَ |
| Transliteration: | Ayahsaboona annama numidduhum bihi min malin wabaneena |
| Yusuf Ali: | Do they think that because We have granted them abundance of wealth and sons, |
| Shakir: | Do they think that by what We aid them with of wealth and children, |
| Pickthall: | Think they that in the wealth and sons wherewith We provide them |
| Mohsin Khan: | Do they think that in wealth and children with which We enlarge them |
| French: | Pensent-ils que ce que Nous leur accordons, en biens et en enfants, |
| Spanish: | ¿Creen que, al proveerles de hacienda y de hijos varones, |

| 56. | نُسَارِعُ لَهُمْ فِي الْخَيْرَاتِ ۚ بَل لَّا يَشْعُرُونَ |
| Transliteration: | NusariAAu lahum fee alkhayrati bal la yashAAuroona |
| Yusuf Ali: | We would hasten them on in every good? Nay, they do not understand. |
| Shakir: | We are hastening to them of good things? Nay, they do not perceive. |
| Pickthall: | We hasten unto them with good things? Nay, but they perceive not. |
| Mohsin Khan: | We hasten unto them with good things. Nay, [it is a Fitnah (trial) in this worldly life so that they will have no share of good things in the Hereafter] but they perceive not. [Tafsir Al-Qurtubi]. |
| French: | [soit une avance] que Nous Nous empressons de leur faire sur les biens [de la vie future]? Au contraire, ils n'en sont pas conscients. |

| Urdu: | انہیں فائدہ پہچانے میں جلدی کر رہے ہیں بلکہ یہ نہیں سمجھتے |

| 57. | إِنَّ الَّذِينَ هُم مِّنْ خَشْيَةِ رَبِّهِم مُّشْفِقُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Inna allatheena hum min khashyati rabbihim mushfiqoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | Verily those who live in awe for fear of their Lord; |
| Shakir: | Surely they who from fear of their Lord are cautious, |
| Pickthall: | Lo! those who go in awe for fear of their Lord. |
| Mohsin Khan: | Verily those who live in awe for fear of their Lord; |
| French: | Ceux qui, de la crainte de leur Seigneur, sont pénétrés, |
| Spanish: | Los imbuidos del miedo de su Señor, |
| Indonesian: | Sesungguhnya orang-orang yang berhati-hati karena takut akan (azab) Tuhan mereka,

| 58. | وَالَّذِينَ هُم بِآيَاتِ رَبِّهِمْ يُؤْمِنُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Waallatheena hum biayati rabbihim yuminoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | Those who believe in the Signs of their Lord; |
| Shakir: | And those who believe in the communications of their Lord, |
| Pickthall: | And those who believe in the revelations of their Lord, |
| Mohsin Khan: | And those who believe in the Ayat (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of their Lord; |
| French: | qui croient aux versets de leur Seigneur, |
| Spanish: | que creen en los signos de su Señor, |
| Indonesian: | dan orang-orang yang beriman dengan ayat-ayat Tuhan mereka,

| 59. | وَالَّذِينَ هُم بِرَبِّهِمْ لَا يُشْرِكُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Waallatheena hum birabbihim la yushrikoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | Those who join not (in worship) partners with their Lord; |
| Shakir: | And those who do not associate (aught) with their Lord, |
| Pickthall: | And those who ascribe not partners unto their Lord, |
| Mohsin Khan: | And those who join not anyone (in worship) as partners with their Lord; |
| French: | qui n'associent rien à leur Seigneur, |
| Spanish: | que no asocian a otros dioses a su Señor, |
| Indonesian: | dan orang-orang yang tidak mempersekutukan dengan Tuhan mereka (sesuatu apa-pun),

| 60. | وَالَّذِينَ يُؤْتُونَ مَا آتَوا وَّقُلُوبُهُمْ وَجِلَةٌ أَنَّهُمْ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ رَاجِعُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Waallatheena yutoona ma ataw waquloobuhum wajilatun annahum ila rabbihim rajiAAoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | And those who dispense their charity with their hearts full of fear, because they will return to their Lord;- |
| Shakir: | And those who give what they give (in alms) while their hearts are full of fear that to their Lord they must return, |
| Pickthall: | And those who give that which they give with hearts afraid because they are about to return unto their Lord, |
| Mohsin Khan: | And those who give that (their charity) which they give (and also do other good deeds) with their hearts full of fear (whether their alms and charities have been accepted or not), because they are sure to return to their Lord (for reckoning). |
| French: | qui donnent ce qu'ils donnent, tandis que leurs cœurs sont pleins de crainte [à la pensée] qu'ils doivent retourner à leur Seigneur. |
| Spanish: | que dan lo que dan con corazón tembloroso, a la idea de que volverán a su Señor, |
| Indonesian: | dan orang-orang yang memberikan apa yang telah mereka berikan, dengan hati yang takut, (karena mereka tahu bahwa) sesungguhnya mereka akan kembali kepada Tuhan mereka ,

| Malay:: | Dan orang-orang yang memberi apa yang mereka berikan sedang hati mereka gementar kerana mereka yakin akan kembali kepada Tuhan mereka;

| German: | und die geben, was sie geben, während ihre Herzen sich (davor) ängstigen, weil sie zu ihrem Herrn zurückkehren werden, |
| Russian: | которые раздают милостыню, тогда как их сердца страшатся того, что им суждено вернуться к своему Господу, - |
| Bosnian: | i oni koji od onoga što im se daje udjeljuju, i čija su srca puna straha zato što će se vratiti svome Gospodaru – |
| Urdu: | اور جو دیتے ہیں جو کچھ دیتے ہیں اور ان کے دل اس سے ڈرتے ہیں کہ وہ اپنے رب کی طرف لوٹنے والے ہیں |

| 61. | أُولَـٰئِكَ يُسَارِعُونَ فِي الْخَيْرَاتِ وَهُمْ لَهَا سَابِقُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Olaika yusariAAoona fee alkhayrati wahum laha sabiqoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | It is these who hasten in every good work, and these who are foremost in them. |
| Shakir: | These hasten to good things and they are foremost in (attaining) them. |
| Pickthall: | These race for the good things, and they shall win them in the race. |
| Mohsin Khan: | It is these who hasten in the good deeds, and they are foremost in them [e.g. offering the compulsory Salat (prayers) in their (early) stated, fixed times and so on]. |
| French: | Ceux-là se précipitent vers les bonnes actions et sont les premiers à les accomplir. |
| Spanish: | ésos rivalizan en buenas obras y son los primeros en practicarlas. |

| Urdu: | یہی لوگ نیک کامو ں میں جلدی کرتے ہیں اور وہی نیکیوں میں آگے بڑھنے والے ہیں |

| 62. | وَلَا نُكَلِّفُ نَفْسًا إِلَّا وُسْعَهَا ۖ وَلَدَيْنَا كِتَابٌ يَنطِقُ بِالْحَقِّ ۚ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Wala nukallifu nafsan illa wusAAaha waladayna kitabun yantiqu bialhaqqi wahum la yuthlamoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | On no soul do We place a burden greater than it can bear: before Us is a record which clearly shows the truth: they will never be wronged. |
| Shakir: | And We do not lay on any soul a burden except to the extent of its ability, and with Us is a book which speaks the truth, and they shall not be dealt with unjustly. |
| Pickthall: | And we task not any soul beyond its scope, and with Us is a Record which speaketh the truth, and they will not be wronged. |
| Mohsin Khan: | And We task not any person except according to his capacity, and with Us is a Record which speaks the truth, and they will not be wronged. |
| French: | Nous n'imposons à personne que selon sa capacité. Et auprès de Nous existe un Livre qui dit la vérité, et ils ne seront pas lésés. |
| Spanish: | No pedimos a nadie sino según sus posibilidades. Tenemos al lado una Escritura que dice la verdad. Y no serán tratados injustamente. |
| Indonesian: | Kami tiada membebani seseorang melainkan menurut kesanggupannya, dan pada sisi Kami ada suatu kitab yang membicarakan kebenaran , dan mereka tidak dianiaya.

| Malay:: | Dan Kami tidak memberati seseorang melainkan apa yang terdaya olehnya dan di sisi Kami ada sebuah Kitab (suratan amal) yang menyatakan segala-galanya dengan benar, sedang mereka tidak dianiaya.

| German: | Wir erlegen keiner Seele mehr auf, als sie zu leisten vermag. Und bei Uns ist ein Buch, das die Wahrheit redet, und es wird ihnen kein Unrecht zugefügt. |
| Russian: | Мы не возлагаем на человека сверх его возможностей. У Нас есть Писание, которое глаголет истину, и с ними не поступят несправедливо. |
| Bosnian: | Mi nikoga ne opterećujemo preko njegovih mogućnosti; u Nas je Knjiga koja istinu govori, i nikome se nepravda neće učiniti. |
| Urdu: | اور ہم کسی پر اس کی طاقت سے بڑھ کر بوجھ نہیں ڈالتے اور ہمارے پاس ایک کتاب ہے جو سچ بولے گی اور ان پر ظلم نہیں کیا جائے گا |

| 63. | بَلْ قُلُوبُهُمْ فِي غَمْرَةٍ مِّنْ هَـٰذَا وَلَهُمْ أَعْمَالٌ مِّن دُونِ ذَٰلِكَ هُمْ لَهَا عَامِلُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Bal quloobuhum fee ghamratin min hatha walahum aAAmalun min dooni thalika hum laha AAamiloona |
| Yusuf Ali: | But their hearts are in confused ignorance of this; and there are, besides that, deeds of theirs, which they will (continue) to do,- |
| Shakir: | Nay, their hearts are in overwhelming ignorance with respect to it and they have besides this other deeds which they do. |
| Pickthall: | Nay, but their hearts are in ignorance of this (Qur'an), and they have other works, besides, which they are doing; |
| Mohsin Khan: | Nay, but their hearts are covered from (understanding) this (the Qur'an), and they have other (evil) deeds, besides, which they are doing. |
| French: | Mais leurs cœurs restent dans l'ignorance à l'égard de cela [le Coran]. [En outre] ils ont d'autres actes (vils) qu'ils accomplissent, |
| Spanish: | Pero sus corazones están en un abismo respecto a esto y, en lugar de aquellas obras, hacen otras. |
| Indonesian: | Tetapi hati orang-orang kafir itu dalam kesesatan dari (memahami kenyataan) ini, dan mereka banyak mengerjakan perbuatan-perbuatan (buruk) selain dari itu, mereka tetap mengerjakannya.

| Malay:: | (Sekalipun demikian, orang-orang yang ingkar tidak juga berfikir) bahkan hati mereka tenggelam di dalam kejahilan, lalai daripada (memahami ajaran Al-Quran) ini dan mereka pula mempunyai lagi amal-amal (yang jahat) selain dari itu, yang mereka terus-menerus mengerjakannya;

| German: | Aber nein! Ihre Herzen befinden sich in tiefer Achtlosigkeit davor'. Und es gibt bei ihnen (andere) Taten außer diesen, die sie ausführen. |
| Russian: | Однако их сердца слепы к этому (Корану). А наряду с этим они совершают менее тяжкие злодеяния. |
| Bosnian: | Ali, srca nevjernika su prema ovom sasvim ravnodušna, a pored toga i ružna djela stalno čine. |
| Urdu: | بلکہ ان کے دل اس سے بے ہوشی میں پڑے ہوئے ہیں اوراس کے سوا ان کے اوربھی کام ہیں کہ جنہیں وہ کیا کرتے ہیں |
|
| 64. | حَتَّىٰ إِذَا أَخَذْنَا مُتْرَفِيهِم بِالْعَذَابِ إِذَا هُمْ يَجْأَرُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Hatta itha akhathna mutrafeehim bialAAathabi itha hum yajaroona |
| Yusuf Ali: | Until, when We seize in Punishment those of them who received the good things of this world, behold, they will groan in supplication! |
| Shakir: | Until when We overtake those who lead easy lives among them with punishment, lo! they cry for succor. |
| Pickthall: | Till when We grasp their luxurious ones with the punishment, behold! they supplicate. |
| Mohsin Khan: | Until when We seize those of them who lead a luxurious life with punishment: behold they make humble invocation with a loud voice. |

| German: | Wenn Wir dann diejenigen von ihnen, die üppig leben, mit der Strafe ergreifen, flehen sie sogleich laut um Hilfe. |
| Russian: | А когда Мы подвергнем наказанию изнеженных роскошью среди них, они завопят громким голосом. |
| Bosnian: | A kada smo na muke stavili one među njima koji su raskošnim životom živjeli, oni su odmah zapomagali. |
| Urdu: | یہاں تک کہ جب ہم ان میں سے آسودہ حال لوگوں کو عذاب میں پکڑیں گے فوراً وہ چلائیں گے |

| 65. | لَا تَجْأَرُوا الْيَوْمَ ۖ إِنَّكُم مِّنَّا لَا تُنصَرُونَ |
| Transliteration: | La tajaroo alyawma innakum minna la tunsaroona |
| Yusuf Ali: | (It will be said): "Groan not in supplication this day: for ye shall certainly not be helped by Us. |
| Shakir: | Cry not for succor this day; surely you shall not be given help from Us. |
| Pickthall: | Supplicate not this day! Assuredly ye will not be helped by Us. |
| Mohsin Khan: | Invoke not loudly this day! Certainly you shall not be helped by Us. |
| French: | «Ne criez pas aujourd'hui. Nul ne vous protègera contre Nous. |
| Spanish: | «¡No gimáis hoy, que no se os va a salvar de Nosotros! |
| Indonesian: | Janganlah kamu memekik minta tolong pada hari ini. Sesungguhnya kamu tiada akan mendapat pertolongan dari Kami.

| Malay:: | (Lalu dikatakan kepada mereka): Janganlah kamu menjerit-jerit meminta tolong pada hari ini, sesungguhnya kamu tidak akan beroleh sebarang pertolongan dari Kami.

| Russian: | Не вопите сегодня! Воистину, Мы не окажем вам помощи. |

| Urdu: | آج کے دن مت چلاؤ بے شک تم ہم سے چھڑائے نہ جاؤ گے |

| 66. | قَدْ كَانَتْ آيَاتِي تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْكُمْ فَكُنتُمْ عَلَىٰ أَعْقَابِكُمْ تَنكِصُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Qad kanat ayatee tutla AAalaykum fakuntum AAala aAAqabikum tankisoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | "My Signs used to be rehearsed to you, but ye used to turn back on your heels- |
| Shakir: | My communications were indeed recited to you, but you used to turn back on your heels, |
| Pickthall: | My revelations were recited unto you, but ye used to turn back on your heels, |
| Mohsin Khan: | Indeed My Verses used to be recited to you, but you used to turn back on your heels (denying them, and refusing with hatred to listen to them). |

| 67. | مُسْتَكْبِرِينَ بِهِ سَامِرًا تَهْجُرُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Mustakbireena bihi samiran tahjuroona |
| Yusuf Ali: | "In arrogance: talking nonsense about the (Qur'an), like one telling fables by night." |
| Shakir: | In arrogance; talking nonsense about the Quran, and left him like one telling fables by night. |
| Pickthall: | In scorn thereof. Nightly did ye rave together. |
| Mohsin Khan: | In pride (they - Quraish pagans and polytheists of Makkah used to feel proud that they are the dwellers of Makkah sanctuary - Haram), talking evil about it (the Qur'an) by night. |
| French: | s'enflant d'orgueil, et vous les dénigriez au cours de vos veillées». |

| 68. | أَفَلَمْ يَدَّبَّرُوا الْقَوْلَ أَمْ جَاءَهُم مَّا لَمْ يَأْتِ آبَاءَهُمُ الْأَوَّلِينَ |
| Transliteration: | Afalam yaddabbaroo alqawla am jaahum ma lam yati abaahumu alawwaleena |
| Yusuf Ali: | Do they not ponder over the Word (of Allah), or has anything (new) come to them that did not come to their fathers of old? |
| Shakir: | Is it then that they do not ponder over what is said, or is it that there has come to them that which did not come to their fathers of old? |
| Pickthall: | Have they not pondered the Word, or hath that come unto them which came not unto their fathers of old? |
| Mohsin Khan: | Have they not pondered over the Word (of Allah, i.e. what is sent down to the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم), or has there come to them what had not come to their fathers of old? |

| 69. | أَمْ لَمْ يَعْرِفُوا رَسُولَهُمْ فَهُمْ لَهُ مُنكِرُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Am lam yaAArifoo rasoolahum fahum lahu munkiroona |
| Yusuf Ali: | Or do they not recognise their Messenger, that they deny him? |
| Shakir: | Or is it that they have not recognized their Apostle, so that they deny him? |
| Pickthall: | Or know they not their messenger, and so reject him? |
| Mohsin Khan: | Or is it that they did not recognize their Messenger (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) so they deny him? |
| French: | Ou n'ont-ils pas connu leur Messager, au point de le renier? |
| Spanish: | ¿No han conocido, acaso, a su Enviado para que le nieguen? |

| 70. | أَمْ يَقُولُونَ بِهِ جِنَّةٌ ۚ بَلْ جَاءَهُم بِالْحَقِّ وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ لِلْحَقِّ كَارِهُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Am yaqooloona bihi jinnatun bal jaahum bialhaqqi waaktharuhum lilhaqqi karihoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | Or do they say, "He is possessed"? Nay, he has brought them the Truth, but most of them hate the Truth. |
| Shakir: | Or do they say: There is madness in him? Nay! he has brought them the truth, and most of them are averse from the truth. |
| Pickthall: | Or say they: There is a madness in him? Nay, but he bringeth them the Truth; and most of them are haters of the Truth. |
| Mohsin Khan: | Or say they: There is madness in him? Nay, but he brought them the truth [i.e. Tauhid: Worshipping Allah Alone in all aspects, the Qur'an and the religion of Islam], but most of them (the disbelievers) are averse to the truth. |
| French: | Ou diront-ils: «Il est fou?» Au contraire, c'est la vérité qu'il leur a apportée. Et la plupart d'entre eux dédaignent la vérité. |
| Spanish: | ¿O dicen que es un poseso? ¡No! Ha venido a ellos con la Verdad, pero la mayoría sienten aversión a la Verdad. |
| Indonesian: | Atau (apakah patut) mereka berkata: "Padanya (Muhammad) ada penyakit gila." Sebenarnya dia telah membawa kebenaran kepada mereka, dan kebanyakan mereka benci kepada kebenaran.

| Malay:: | Atau kerana mereka mengatakan: Dia kena penyakit gila? (Sebenarnya bukan kerana sesuatu pun dari yang tersebut itu) bahkan kerana Rasul mereka datang kepada mereka membawa agama yang tetap benar dan tabiat kebanyakan mereka tidak suka kepada sebarang kebenaran.

| German: | Oder sagen sie: "Er leidet an Besessenheit?" Nein! Vielmehr kam er zu ihnen mit der Wahrheit, aber den meisten von ihnen ist die Wahrheit zuwider. |
| Russian: | Или же они говорят, что он - бесноватый? Напротив, он принес им истину, но большинство из них не любят ее. |
| Bosnian: | Kako govore: "Džini su u njemu!" Međutim, on im istinu donosi, ali većina njih prezire istinu. |
| Urdu: | یا کہتے ہیں کہ اسے جنون ہے بلکہ رسول ان کے پاس حق بات لے کر آیا ہے اور ان میں سے اکثر حق کو ناپسند کرنے والے ہیں |

| 71. | وَلَوِ اتَّبَعَ الْحَقُّ أَهْوَاءَهُمْ لَفَسَدَتِ السَّمَاوَاتُ وَالْأَرْضُ وَمَن فِيهِنَّ ۚ بَلْ أَتَيْنَاهُم بِذِكْرِهِمْ فَهُمْ عَن ذِكْرِهِم مُّعْرِضُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Walawi ittabaAAa alhaqqu ahwaahum lafasadati alssamawatu waalardu waman feehinna bal ataynahum bithikrihim fahum AAan thikrihim muAAridoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | If the Truth had been in accord with their desires, truly the heavens and the earth, and all beings therein would have been in confusion and corruption! Nay, We have sent them their admonition, but they turn away from their admonition. |
| Shakir: | And should the truth follow their low desires, surely the heavens and the earth and all those who are therein would have perished. Nay! We have brought to them their reminder, but from their reminder they turn aside. |
| Pickthall: | And if the Truth had followed their desires, verily the heavens and the earth and whosoever is therein had been corrupted. Nay, We have brought them their Reminder, but from their Reminder they now turn away. |
| Mohsin Khan: | And if the truth had been in accordance with their desires, verily, the heavens and the earth, and whosoever is therein would have been corrupted! Nay, We have brought them their reminder, but they turn away from their reminder. |
| French: | Si la vérité était conforme à leurs passions, les cieux et la terre et ceux qui s'y trouvent seraient, certes, corrompus. Au contraire, Nous leur avons donné leur rappel. Mais ils s'en détournent. |
| Spanish: | Si la Verdad se hubiera conformado a sus pasiones, los cielos, la tierra y los que en ellos hay se habrían corrompido. Nosotros, en cambio, les hemos traído su Amonestación, pero ellos se apartan de su Amonestación. |
| Indonesian: | Andaikata kebenaran itu menuruti hawa nafsu mereka, pasti binasalah langit dan bumi ini, dan semua yang ada di dalamnya. Sebenarnya Kami telah mendatangkan kepada mereka kebanggaan mereka tetapi mereka berpaling dari kebanggaan itu.

| Malay:: | Dan kalaulah kebenaran itu tunduk menurut hawa nafsu mereka, nescaya rosak binasalah langit dan bumi serta segala yang adanya. (Bukan sahaja Kami memberikan agama yang tetap benar) bahkan Kami memberi kepada mereka Al-Quran yang menjadi sebutan baik dan mendatangkan kemuliaan kepada mereka; maka Al-Quran yang demikian keadaannya, mereka tidak juga mahu menerimanya;

| German: | Wenn die Wahrheit ihren Neigungen gefolgt wäre, gerieten die Himmel und die Erde und wer in ihnen ist wahrlich ins Verderben. Aber nein! Wir kamen zu ihnen mit ihrer Ermahnung, sie aber wenden sich von ihrer Ermahnung ab. |
| Russian: | А если бы истина зависела от их желаний, то сгинули бы небеса, земля и те, кто на них. Мы даровали им их Напоминание (Коран), однако они отвернулись от своего Напоминания. |
| Bosnian: | Da se Allah za prohtjevima njihovim povodi, sigurno bi nestalo poretka na nebesima i na Zemlji i u onom što je na njima; Mi smo im dali Kur'an, slavu njihovu, ali oni za slavu svoju ne haju. |
| Urdu: | اوراگر حق ان کی خواہشوں کے مطابق ہوتا تو آسمان اور زمین میں اورجو کچھ ان میں ہے درہم برہم ہو گیا ہوتا بلکہ ہم نے تو ان کی نصیحت انہیں پہنچا دی ہے سو وہ اپنی نصیحت سے منہ موڑنے والے ہیں |

| 72. | أَمْ تَسْأَلُهُمْ خَرْجًا فَخَرَاجُ رَبِّكَ خَيْرٌ ۖ وَهُوَ خَيْرُ الرَّازِقِينَ |
| Transliteration: | Am tasaluhum kharjan fakharaju rabbika khayrun wahuwa khayru alrraziqeena |
| Yusuf Ali: | Or is it that thou askest them for some recompense? But the recompense of thy Lord is best: He is the Best of those who give sustenance. |
| Shakir: | Or is it that you ask them a recompense? But the recompense of your Lord is best, and He is the best of those who provide sustenance. |
| Pickthall: | Or dost thou ask of them (O Muhammad) any tribute? But the bounty of thy Lord is better, for He is Best of all who make provision. |
| Mohsin Khan: | Or is it that you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) ask them for some wages? But the recompense of your Lord is better, and He is the Best of those who give sustenance. |
| French: | Ou leur demandes-tu une rétribution? Mais la rétribution de ton Seigneur est meilleure. Et c'est Lui, le Meilleur des pourvoyeurs. |
| Spanish: | ¿Les pides, acaso, una retribución? La retribución de tu Señor es mejor. Él es el Mejor de los proveedores. |
| Indonesian: | Atau kamu meminta upah kepada mereka?, maka upah dari Tuhanmu adalah lebih baik, dan Dia adalah Pemberi rezki Yang Paling Baik.

| Malay:: | Atau adakah (mereka menolak seruanmu itu kerana) engkau meminta kepada mereka suatu pemberian (sebagai hasil pendapatan seruanmu)? (Ini pun tidak!) Kerana engkau percaya pemberian Tuhanmu lebih baik dan Dialah jua sebaik-baik Pemberi rezeki.

| German: | Oder verlangst du von ihnen eine Entlohnung? Aber die Entlohnung deines Herrn ist besser, und Er ist der beste Versorger. |
| Russian: | Разве ты просишь у них вознаграждения? Воздаяние твоего Господа лучше, и Он - Наилучший из дарующих удел. |
| Bosnian: | Ili od njih tražiš nagradu? Ta nagrada Gospodara tvoga bolja je, On najbolje nagrađuje. |
| Urdu: | کیا تو ان سے کچھ اجرت مانگتا ہے سو تیرے رب کی اجرت بہتر ہے اور وہی سب سے بہتر روزی دینے والا ہے |
|
| 73. | وَإِنَّكَ لَتَدْعُوهُمْ إِلَىٰ صِرَاطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ |
| Transliteration: | Wainnaka latadAAoohum ila siratin mustaqeemin |
| Yusuf Ali: | But verily thou callest them to the Straight Way; |
| Shakir: | And most surely you invite them to a right way. |
| Pickthall: | And lo! thou summonest them indeed unto a straight path. |
| Mohsin Khan: | And certainly, you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) call them to the Straight Path (true religion - Islamic Monotheism). |
| French: | Et tu les appelles, certes, vers le droit chemin. |
| Spanish: | Sí, tú les llamas a una vía recta, |
| Indonesian: | Dan sesungguhnya kamu benar-benar menyeru mereka kepada jalan yang lurus.

| Malay:: | Dan sesungguhnya engkau (wahai Muhammad) hanya menyeru mereka ke jalan yang lurus;

| German: | Und du lädst sie wahrlich zu einem geraden Weg ein. |
| Russian: | Воистину, ты призываешь их на прямой путь. |
| Bosnian: | Ti njih pozivaš na Pravi put, |
| Urdu: | اوربے شک تو انہیں سیدھے راستہ کی طرف بلاتا ہے |
|
| 74. | وَإِنَّ الَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِالْآخِرَةِ عَنِ الصِّرَاطِ لَنَاكِبُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Wainna allatheena la yuminoona bialakhirati AAani alssirati lanakiboona |
| Yusuf Ali: | And verily those who believe not in the Hereafter are deviating from that Way. |
| Shakir: | And most surely those who do not believe in the hereafter are deviating from the way. |
| Pickthall: | And lo! those who believe not in the Hereafter are indeed astray from the path. |
| Mohsin Khan: | And verily, those who believe not in the Hereafter are indeed deviating far astray from the Path (true religion - Islamic Monotheism). |
| French: | Or, ceux qui ne croient pas à l'au-delà sont bien écartés de ce chemin. |
| Spanish: | pero quienes no creen en la otra vida se desvían, sí, de la vía. |
| Indonesian: | Dan sesungguhnya orang-orang yang tidak beriman kepada negeri akhirat benar-benar menyimpang dari jalan (yang lurus).

| Malay:: | Dan sesungguhnya orang-orang yang tidak beriman kepada hari akhirat, sudah tentu tidak mengikuti jalan yang lurus itu.

| German: | Jene, die nicht an das Jenseits glauben, weichen fürwahr vom Weg ab. |
| Russian: | А те, которые не веруют в Последнюю жизнь, непременно сбиваются с пути. |
| Bosnian: | ali oni koji u onaj svijet neće da vjeruju s Pravog puta, doista, skreću. |
| Urdu: | اور جو لوگ آخرت کو نہیں مانتے سیدھے راستہ سے ہٹنے والے ہیں |

| 75. | ۞ وَلَوْ رَحِمْنَاهُمْ وَكَشَفْنَا مَا بِهِم مِّن ضُرٍّ لَّلَجُّوا فِي طُغْيَانِهِمْ يَعْمَهُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Walaw rahimnahum wakashafna ma bihim min durrin lalajjoo fee tughyanihim yaAAmahoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | If We had mercy on them and removed the distress which is on them, they would obstinately persist in their transgression, wandering in distraction to and fro. |
| Shakir: | And if We show mercy to them and remove the distress they have, they would persist in their inordinacy, blindly wandering on. |
| Pickthall: | Though We had mercy on them and relieved them of the harm afflicting them, they still would wander blindly on in their contumacy. |
| Mohsin Khan: | And though We had mercy on them and removed the distress which is on them, still they would obstinately persist in their transgression, wandering blindly. |
| French: | Si Nous leur faisions miséricorde et écartions d'eux le mal, ils persisteraient certainement dans leur transgression, confus et hésitants. |
| Spanish: | Si nos apiadáramos de ellos y les retiráramos la desgracia que tienen, persistirían, ciegos, en su rebeldía. |
| Indonesian: | Andaikata mereka Kami belas kasihani, dan Kami lenyapkan kemudharatan yang mereka alami , benar-benar mereka akan terus menerus terombang-ambing dalam keterlaluan mereka.

| Malay:: | Dan sekiranya Kami menaruh belas kasihan kepada mereka serta Kami hapuskan kesusahan yang menimpa mereka, nescaya mereka akan tetap terus meraba-raba dalam kesesatan mereka yang melampaui batas itu.

| German: | Wenn Wir Uns ihrer erbarmten und das Unheil, das auf ihnen ist, hinwegnähmen, würden sie wahrlich in ihrer Auflehnung verharren und umherirren. |
| Russian: | Если бы Мы смилостивились над ними и избавили их от беды, они все равно продолжали бы слепо скитаться, настаивая на своем беззаконии. |
| Bosnian: | I kad bismo im se smilovali i nevolje ih oslobodili, opet bi oni u zabludi svojoj jednako lutali. |
| Urdu: | اور اگر ہم ا ن پر رحم کر کے ان کی تکلیف کو دور کر دیں تو بھی وہ اپنی سرکشی میں گمراہ پڑے رہیں گے |
|
| 76. | وَلَقَدْ أَخَذْنَاهُم بِالْعَذَابِ فَمَا اسْتَكَانُوا لِرَبِّهِمْ وَمَا يَتَضَرَّعُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Walaqad akhathnahum bialAAathabi fama istakanoo lirabbihim wama yatadarraAAoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | We inflicted Punishment on them, but they humbled not themselves to their Lord, nor do they submissively entreat (Him)!- |
| Shakir: | And already We overtook them with chastisement, but they were not submissive to their Lord, nor do they humble themselves. |
| Pickthall: | Already have We grasped them with punishment, but they humble not themselves unto their Lord, nor do they pray, |
| Mohsin Khan: | And indeed We seized them with punishment, but they humbled not themselves to their Lord, nor did they invoke (Allah) with submission to Him. |
| French: | Nous les avons certes saisis du châtiment, mais ils ne se sont pas soumis à leur Seigneur; de même qu'ils ne [Le] supplient point, |
| Spanish: | Les infligimos un castigo, pero no se sometieron a su Señor y no se humillaron. |
| Indonesian: | Dan sesungguhnya Kami telah pernah menimpakan azab kepada mereka , maka mereka tidak tunduk kepada Tuhan mereka, dan (juga) tidak memohon (kepada-Nya) dengan merendahkan diri.

| 77. | حَتَّىٰ إِذَا فَتَحْنَا عَلَيْهِم بَابًا ذَا عَذَابٍ شَدِيدٍ إِذَا هُمْ فِيهِ مُبْلِسُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Hatta itha fatahna AAalayhim baban tha AAathabin shadeedin itha hum feehi mublisoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | Until We open on them a gate leading to a severe Punishment: then Lo! they will be plunged in despair therein! |
| Shakir: | Until when We open upon them a door of severe chastisement, lo! they are in despair at it. |
| Pickthall: | Until, when We open for them the gate of extreme punishment, behold! they are aghast thereat. |
| Mohsin Khan: | Until, when We open for them the gate of severe punishment, then lo! they will be plunged into destruction with deep regrets, sorrows and in despair. |
| French: | jusqu'au jour où Nous ouvrirons sur eux une porte au dur châtiment, et voilà qu'ils en seront désespérés. |
| Spanish: | Hasta que abramos contra ellos una puerta de severo castigo y, entonces, sean presa de la desesperación. |

| Malay:: | Sehingga apabila Kami bukakan kepada mereka sebuah pintu yang menyebabkan azab yang berat, maka mereka serta-merta berputus asa dengan sebabnya dari mendapat sebarang kebaikan.

| German: | Wenn Wir ihnen dann ein Tor zu strenger Strafe öffnen, sind sie darüber sogleich ganz verzweifelt. |
| Russian: | Когда же Мы распахнем перед ними врата тяжких мучений, они придут там в отчаяние. |
| Bosnian: | tek kad im kapiju teške patnje otvorimo, oni će nadu izgubiti i u očajanje zapasti. |
| Urdu: | یہاں تک کہ جب ہم نے ان پر سخت عذاب کا دروازہ کھولا تو فوراً اس میں نا امید ہوگئے |

| 78. | وَهُوَ الَّذِي أَنشَأَ لَكُمُ السَّمْعَ وَالْأَبْصَارَ وَالْأَفْئِدَةَ ۚ قَلِيلًا مَّا تَشْكُرُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Wahuwa allathee anshaa lakumu alssamAAa waalabsara waalafidata qaleelan ma tashkuroona |
| Yusuf Ali: | It is He Who has created for you (the faculties of) hearing, sight, feeling and understanding: little thanks it is ye give! |
| Shakir: | And He it is Who made for you the ears and the eyes and the hearts; little is it that you give thanks. |
| Pickthall: | He it is Who hath created for you ears and eyes and hearts. Small thanks give ye! |
| Mohsin Khan: | It is He Who has created for you (the sense of) hearing (ears), eyes (sight), and hearts (understanding). Little thanks you give. |
| French: | Et c'est Lui qui a créé pour vous l'ouïe, les yeux et les cœurs. Mais vous êtes rarement reconnaissants. |

| 79. | وَهُوَ الَّذِي ذَرَأَكُمْ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَإِلَيْهِ تُحْشَرُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Wahuwa allathee tharaakum fee alardi wailayhi tuhsharoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | And He has multiplied you through the earth, and to Him shall ye be gathered back. |
| Shakir: | And He it is Who multiplied you in the earth, and to Him you shall be gathered. |
| Pickthall: | And He it is Who hath sown you broadcast in the earth, and unto Him ye will be gathered. |
| Mohsin Khan: | And it is He Who has created you on the earth, and to Him you shall be gathered back. |
| French: | C'est Lui qui vous a répandus sur la terre, et c'est vers Lui que vous serez rassemblés. |
| Spanish: | Él es Quien os ha diseminado por la tierra. Y hacia Él- seréis congregados. |

| 80. | وَهُوَ الَّذِي يُحْيِي وَيُمِيتُ وَلَهُ اخْتِلَافُ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ ۚ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Wahuwa allathee yuhyee wayumeetu walahu ikhtilafu allayli waalnnahari afala taAAqiloona |
| Yusuf Ali: | It is He Who gives life and death, and to Him (is due) the alternation of Night and Day: will ye not then understand? |
| Shakir: | And He it is Who gives life and causes death, and (in) His (control) is the alternation of the night and the day; do you not then understand? |
| Pickthall: | And He it is Who giveth life and causeth death, and His is the difference of night and day. Have ye then no sense? |
| Mohsin Khan: | And it is He Who gives life and causes death, and His is the alternation of night and day. Will you not then understand? |

| 81. | بَلْ قَالُوا مِثْلَ مَا قَالَ الْأَوَّلُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Bal qaloo mithla ma qala alawwaloona |
| Yusuf Ali: | On the contrary they say things similar to what the ancients said. |
| Shakir: | Nay, they say the like of what the ancients said: |
| Pickthall: | Nay, but they say the like of that which said the men of old; |
| Mohsin Khan: | Nay, but they say the like of what the men of old said. |
| French: | Ils ont plutôt tenu les mêmes propos que les anciens. |
| Spanish: | Al contrario, dicen lo mismo que dijeron los antiguos. |
| Indonesian: | Sebenarnya mereka mengucapkan perkataan yang serupa dengan perkataan yang diucapkan oleh orang-orang dahulu kala.

| Malay:: | (Mereka tidak juga mahu berfikir) bahkan mereka berkata seperti yang dikatakan oleh orang-orang dahulu (yang ingkar);

| Urdu: | بلکہ وہی کہتے ہیں جو پہلے لوگ کہتے تھے |

| 82. | قَالُوا أَإِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا وَعِظَامًا أَإِنَّا لَمَبْعُوثُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Qaloo aitha mitna wakunna turaban waAAithaman ainna lamabAAoothoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | They say: "What! when we die and become dust and bones, could we really be raised up again? |
| Shakir: | They say: What! When we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we then be raised? |
| Pickthall: | They say: When we are dead and have become (mere) dust and bones, shall we then, forsooth, be raised again? |
| Mohsin Khan: | They said: "When we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we be resurrected indeed? |
| French: | Ils ont dit: «lorsque nous serons morts et que nous serons poussière et ossements, serons-nous vraiment ressuscités? |
| Spanish: | Dicen: «Cuando muramos y seamos tierra y huesos, ¿se nos resucitará acaso? |
| Indonesian: | Mereka berkata: "Apakah betul, apabila kami telah mati dan kami telah menjadi tanah dan tulang belulang, apakah sesungguhnya kami benar-benar akan dibangkitkan?

| 83. | لَقَدْ وُعِدْنَا نَحْنُ وَآبَاؤُنَا هَـٰذَا مِن قَبْلُ إِنْ هَـٰذَا إِلَّا أَسَاطِيرُ الْأَوَّلِينَ |
| Transliteration: | Laqad wuAAidna nahnu waabaona hatha min qablu in hatha illa asateeru alawwaleena |
| Yusuf Ali: | "Such things have been promised to us and to our fathers before! they are nothing but tales of the ancients!" |
| Shakir: | Certainly we are promised this, and (so were) our fathers aforetime; this is naught but stories of those of old. |
| Pickthall: | We were already promised this, we and our forefathers. Lo! this is naught but fables of the men of old. |
| Mohsin Khan: | "Verily, this we have been promised - we and our fathers before (us)! This is only the tales of the ancients!" |
| French: | On nous a promis cela, ainsi qu'à nos ancêtres auparavant; ce ne sont que de vieilles sornettes». |
| Spanish: | Ya antes se nos había prometido esto a nosotros y a nuestros padres. No son más que patrañas de los antiguos». |

| 84. | قُل لِّمَنِ الْأَرْضُ وَمَن فِيهَا إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Qul limani alardu waman feeha in kuntum taAAlamoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | Say: "To whom belong the earth and all beings therein? (say) if ye know!" |
| Shakir: | Say: Whose is the earth, and whoever is therein, if you know? |
| Pickthall: | Say: Unto Whom (belongeth) the earth and whosoever is therein, if ye have knowledge? |
| Mohsin Khan: | Say: "Whose is the earth and whosoever is therein? If you know!" |
| French: | Dis: «A qui appartient la terre et ceux qui y sont? si vous savez». |
| Spanish: | Di: «¿De quién es la tierra y quien en ella hay? Si es que lo sabéis...» |

| Transliteration: | Sayaqooloona lillahi qul afala tathakkaroona |
| Yusuf Ali: | They will say, "To Allah!" say: "Yet will ye not receive admonition?" |
| Shakir: | They will say: Allah's. Say: Will you not then mind? |
| Pickthall: | They will say: Unto Allah. Say: Will ye not then remember? |
| Mohsin Khan: | They will say: "It is Allah's!" Say: "Will you not then remember?" |
| French: | Ils diront: «A Allah». Dis: «Ne vous souvenez-vous donc pas?» |
| Spanish: | Dirán: «¡De Alá!» Di: «¿Es que no os dejaréis amonestar?» |

| Transliteration: | Qul man rabbu alssamawati alssabAAi warabbu alAAarshi alAAatheemi |
| Yusuf Ali: | Say: "Who is the Lord of the seven heavens, and the Lord of the Throne (of Glory) Supreme?" |
| Shakir: | Say: Who is the Lord of the seven heavens and the Lord of the mighty dominion? |
| Pickthall: | Say: Who is Lord of the seven heavens, and Lord of the Tremendous Throne? |
| Mohsin Khan: | Say: "Who is (the) Lord of the seven heavens, and (the) Lord of the Great Throne?" |
| French: | Dis: «Qui est le Seigneur des sept cieux et le Seigneur du Trône sublime?» |

| Transliteration: | Sayaqooloona lillahi qul afala tattaqoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | They will say, "(They belong) to Allah." Say: "Will ye not then be filled with awe?" |
| Shakir: | They will say: (This is) Allah's. Say: Will you not then guard (against evil)? |
| Pickthall: | They will say: Unto Allah (all that belongeth). Say: Will ye not then keep duty (unto Him)? |
| Mohsin Khan: | They will say: "Allah." Say: "Will you not then fear Allah (believe in His Oneness, obey Him, believe in the Resurrection and Recompense for every good or bad deed)?" |
| French: | Ils diront: [ils appartiennent] «A Allah». Dis: «Ne craignez-vous donc pas?» |

| 88. | قُلْ مَن بِيَدِهِ مَلَكُوتُ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ وَهُوَ يُجِيرُ وَلَا يُجَارُ عَلَيْهِ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Qul man biyadihi malakootu kulli shayin wahuwa yujeeru wala yujaru AAalayhi in kuntum taAAlamoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | Say: "Who is it in whose hands is the governance of all things,- who protects (all), but is not protected (of any)? (say) if ye know." |
| Shakir: | Say: Who is it in Whose hand is the kingdom of all things and Who gives succor, but against Him Succor is not given, if you do but know? |
| Pickthall: | Say: In Whose hand is the dominion over all things and He protecteth, while against Him there is no protection, if ye have knowledge? |
| Mohsin Khan: | Say "In Whose Hand is the sovereignty of everything (i.e. treasures of each and everything)? And He protects (all), while against Whom there is no protector, (i.e. if Allah saves anyone none can punish or harm him, and if Allah punishes or harms anyone none can save him), if you know?" | 89. | سَيَقُولُونَ لِلَّهِ ۚ قُلْ فَأَنَّىٰ تُسْحَرُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Sayaqooloona lillahi qul faanna tusharoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | They will say, "(It belongs) to Allah." Say: "Then how are ye deluded?" |
| Shakir: | They will say: (This is) Allah's. Say: From whence are you then deceived? |
| Pickthall: | They will say: Unto Allah (all that belongeth). Say: How then are ye bewitched? |
| Mohsin Khan: | They will say: "(All that belongs) to Allah." Say: "How then are you deceived and turn away from the truth?" |
| French: | Ils diront: «Allah». Dis: «Comment donc se fait-il que vous soyez ensorcelés?» [au point de ne pas croire en Lui]. |

| 90. | بَلْ أَتَيْنَاهُم بِالْحَقِّ وَإِنَّهُمْ لَكَاذِبُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Bal ataynahum bialhaqqi wainnahum lakathiboona |
| Yusuf Ali: | We have sent them the Truth: but they indeed practise falsehood! |
| Shakir: | Nay! We have brought to them the truth, and most surely they are liars. |
| Pickthall: | Nay, but We have brought them the Truth, and lo! they are liars. |
| Mohsin Khan: | Nay, but We have brought them the truth (Islamic Monotheism), and verily, they (disbelievers) are liars. |
| French: | Nous leur avons plutôt apporté la vérité et ils sont assurément des menteurs. |
| Spanish: | Vinimos a ellos con la Verdad, pero mienten, si. |
| Indonesian: | Sebenarnya Kami telah membawa kebenaran kepada mereka, dan sesungguhnya mereka benar-benar orang-orang yang berdusta.

| Russian: | Мы принесли им истину, однако они - лжецы. |
| Bosnian: | Da, Mi im Istinu donosimo, a oni su zaista lažljivci: |
| Urdu: | بلکہ ہم نے تو ان کے پاس حق بات پہنچا دی اور بے شک وہ البتہ جھوٹے ہیں |

| 91. | مَا اتَّخَذَ اللَّهُ مِن وَلَدٍ وَمَا كَانَ مَعَهُ مِنْ إِلَـٰهٍ ۚ إِذًا لَّذَهَبَ كُلُّ إِلَـٰهٍ بِمَا خَلَقَ وَلَعَلَا بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ ۚ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Ma ittakhatha Allahu min waladin wama kana maAAahu min ilahin ithan lathahaba kullu ilahin bima khalaqa walaAAala baAAduhum AAala baAAdin subhana Allahi AAamma yasifoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | No son did Allah beget, nor is there any god along with Him: (if there were many gods), behold, each god would have taken away what he had created, and some would have lorded it over others! Glory to Allah! (He is free) from the (sort of) things they attribute to Him! |
| Shakir: | Never did Allah take to Himself a son, and never was there with him any (other) god-- in that case would each god have certainly taken away what he created, and some of them would certainly have overpowered others; glory be to Allah above what they describe! |
| Pickthall: | Allah hath not chosen any son, nor is there any god along with Him; else would each god have assuredly championed that which he created, and some of them would assuredly have overcome others. Glorified be Allah above all that they allege. |
| Mohsin Khan: | No son (or offspring) did Allah beget, nor is there any ilah (god) along with Him. (If there had been many gods), then each god would have taken away what he had created, and some would have tried to overcome others! Glorified be Allah above all that they attribute to Him! |
| French: | Allah ne S'est point attribué d'enfant et il n'existe point de divinité avec Lui; sinon, chaque divinité s'en irait avec ce qu'elle a créé, et certaines seraient supérieures aux autres. (Gloire et pureté) à Allah! Il est Supérieur à tout ce qu'ils décrivent. |
| Spanish: | Alá no ha adoptado un hijo, ni hay otro dios junto con Él. Si no, cada dios se habría atribuido lo que hubiera creado y unos habrían sido superiores a otros. ¡Gloria a Alá, Que está por encima de lo que cuentan! |
| Indonesian: | Allah sekali-kali tidak mempunyai anak, dan sekali-kali tidak ada tuhan (yang lain) beserta-Nya, kalau ada tuhan beserta-Nya, masing-masing tuhan itu akan membawa makhluk yang diciptakannya, dan sebagian dari tuhan-tuhan itu akan mengalahkan sebagian yang lain. Maha Suci Allah dari apa yang mereka sifatkan itu,

| Malay:: | Allah tidak sekali-kali mempunyai anak dan tidak ada sama sekali sebarang tuhan bersamaNya; (kalaulah ada banyak tuhan) tentulah tiap-tiap tuhan itu akan menguasai dan menguruskan segala yang diciptakannya dengan bersendirian dan tentulah setengahnya akan bertindak mengalahkan setengahnya yang lain. Maha Suci Allah dari apa yang dikatakan oleh mereka (yang musyrik) itu.

| 92. | عَالِمِ الْغَيْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ فَتَعَالَىٰ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ |
| Transliteration: | AAalimi alghaybi waalshshahadati fataAAala AAamma yushrikoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | He knows what is hidden and what is open: too high is He for the partners they attribute to Him! |
| Shakir: | The Knower of the unseen and the seen, so may He be exalted above what they associate (with Him). |
| Pickthall: | Knower of the Invisible and the Visible! and Exalted be He over all that they ascribe as partners (unto Him)! |
| Mohsin Khan: | All-Knower of the unseen and the seen! Exalted be He over all that they associate as partners to Him! |
| French: | [Il est] Connaisseur de toute chose visible et invisible! Il est bien au-dessus de ce qu'ils [Lui] associent! |

| 93. | قُل رَّبِّ إِمَّا تُرِيَنِّي مَا يُوعَدُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Qul rabbi imma turiyannee ma yooAAadoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | Say: "O my Lord! if Thou wilt show me (in my lifetime) that which they are warned against,- |
| Shakir: | Say: O my Lord! if Thou shouldst make me see what they are threatened with: |
| Pickthall: | Say: My Lord! If Thou shouldst show me that which they are promised. |
| Mohsin Khan: | Say (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم): "My Lord! If You would show me that with which they are threatened (torment), |

| 94. | رَبِّ فَلَا تَجْعَلْنِي فِي الْقَوْمِ الظَّالِمِينَ |
| Transliteration: | Rabbi fala tajAAalnee fee alqawmi alththalimeena |
| Yusuf Ali: | "Then, O my Lord! put me not amongst the people who do wrong!" |
| Shakir: | My Lord! then place me not with the unjust. |
| Pickthall: | My Lord! then set me not among the wrongdoing folk. |
| Mohsin Khan: | "My Lord! Then (save me from Your punishment), put me not amongst the people who are the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers)." |
| French: | alors, Seigneur, ne me place pas parmi les gens injustes. |
| Spanish: | ¡No me pongas, Señor, con el pueblo impío!» |

| 95. | وَإِنَّا عَلَىٰ أَن نُّرِيَكَ مَا نَعِدُهُمْ لَقَادِرُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Wainna AAala an nuriyaka ma naAAiduhum laqadiroona |
| Yusuf Ali: | And We are certainly able to show thee (in fulfilment) that against which they are warned. |
| Shakir: | And most surely We are well able to make you see what We threaten them with. |
| Pickthall: | And verily We are Able to show thee that which We have promised them. |
| Mohsin Khan: | And indeed We are Able to show you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) that with which We have threatened them. |

| 96. | ادْفَعْ بِالَّتِي هِيَ أَحْسَنُ السَّيِّئَةَ ۚ نَحْنُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يَصِفُونَ |
| Transliteration: | IdfaAA biallatee hiya ahsanu alssayyiata nahnu aAAlamu bima yasifoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | Repel evil with that which is best: We are well acquainted with the things they say. |
| Shakir: | Repel evil by what is best; We know best what they describe. |
| Pickthall: | Repel evil with that which is better. We are Best Aware of that which they allege. |
| Mohsin Khan: | Repel evil with that which is better. We are Best-Acquainted with the things they utter. |
| French: | Repousse le mal par ce qui est meilleur. Nous savons très bien ce qu'ils décrivent. |
| Spanish: | Repele el mal con algo que sea mejor Sabemos bien lo que cuentan. |

| 97. | وَقُل رَّبِّ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ هَمَزَاتِ الشَّيَاطِينِ |
| Transliteration: | Waqul rabbi aAAoothu bika min hamazati alshshayateeni |
| Yusuf Ali: | And say "O my Lord! I seek refuge with Thee from the suggestions of the Evil Ones. |
| Shakir: | And say: O my Lord! I seek refuge in Thee from the evil suggestions of the Shaitans; |
| Pickthall: | And say: My Lord! I seek refuge in Thee from suggestions of the evil ones, |
| Mohsin Khan: | And say: "My Lord! I seek refuge with You from the whisperings (suggestions) of the Shayatin (devils). |
| French: | Et dis: «Seigneur, je cherche Ta protection, contre les incitations des diables. |

| Yusuf Ali: | "And I seek refuge with Thee O my Lord! lest they should come near me." |
| Shakir: | And I seek refuge in Thee! O my Lord! from their presence. |
| Pickthall: | And I seek refuge in Thee, my Lord, lest they be present with me, |
| Mohsin Khan: | "And I seek refuge with You, My Lord! lest they should come near me." |
| French: | et je cherche Ta protection, Seigneur, contre leur présence auprès de moi». |
| Spanish: | Me refugio en Ti, Señor, contra su acoso». |
| Indonesian: | Dan aku berlindung (pula) kepada Engkau ya Tuhanku, dari kedatangan mereka kepadaku."

| 99. | حَتَّىٰ إِذَا جَاءَ أَحَدَهُمُ الْمَوْتُ قَالَ رَبِّ ارْجِعُونِ |
| Transliteration: | Hatta itha jaa ahadahumu almawtu qala rabbi irjiAAooni |
| Yusuf Ali: | (In Falsehood will they be) Until, when death comes to one of them, he says: "O my Lord! send me back (to life),- |
| Shakir: | Until when death overtakes one of them, he says: Send me back, my Lord, send me back; |
| Pickthall: | Until, when death cometh unto one of them, he saith: My Lord! Send me back, |
| Mohsin Khan: | Until, when death comes to one of them (those who join partners with Allah), he says: "My Lord! Send me back, |
| French: | ...Puis, lorsque la mort vient à l'un deux, il dit: «Mon Seigneur! Fais-moi revenir (sur terre), |
| Spanish: | Cuando, al fin, viene la muerte a uno de ellos, dice: «¡Señor! ¡Hazme volver! |
| Indonesian: | (Demikianlah keadaan orang-orang kafir itu), hingga apabila datang kematian kepada seseorang dari mereka, dia berkata: "Ya Tuhanku kembalikanlah aku (ke dunia)

| Malay:: | Kesudahan golongan yang kufur ingkar itu apabila sampai ajal maut kepada salah seorang di antara mereka, berkatalah ia: Wahai Tuhanku, kembalikanlah daku (hidup semula di dunia) -

| German: | Wenn dann der Tod zu einem von ihnen kommt, sagt er: "Mein Herr, bringt mich zurück, |
| Russian: | Когда же смерть подступает к кому-нибудь из них, он говорит: «Господи! Верни меня обратно. |
| Bosnian: | Kad nekome od njih smrt dođe, on uzvikne: "Gospodaru moj, povrati me |
| Urdu: | یہاں تک کہ جب ان میں سے کسی کو موت آئے گی تو کہے گا اے میرے رب مجھے پھر بھیج دے |

| 100. | لَعَلِّي أَعْمَلُ صَالِحًا فِيمَا تَرَكْتُ ۚ كَلَّا ۚ إِنَّهَا كَلِمَةٌ هُوَ قَائِلُهَا ۖ وَمِن وَرَائِهِم بَرْزَخٌ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ |
| Transliteration: | LaAAallee aAAmalu salihan feema taraktu kalla innaha kalimatun huwa qailuha wamin waraihim barzakhun ila yawmi yubAAathoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | "In order that I may work righteousness in the things I neglected." - "By no means! It is but a word he says."- Before them is a Partition till the Day they are raised up. |
| Shakir: | Haply I may do good in that which I have left. By no means! it is a (mere) word that he speaks; and before them is a barrier until the day they are raised. |
| Pickthall: | That I may do right in that which I have left behind! But nay! It is but a word that he speaketh; and behind them is a barrier until the day when they are raised. |
| Mohsin Khan: | "So that I may do good in that which I have left behind!" No! It is but a word that he speaks; and behind them is Barzakh (a barrier) until the Day when they will be resurrected. |
| French: | afin que je fasse du bien dans ce que je délaissais». Non, c'est simplement une parole qu'il dit. Derrière eux, cependant, il y a une barrière, jusqu'au jour où ils seront ressuscités». |
| Spanish: | Quizás, así, pueda hacer el bien que dejé de hacer». ¡No! No son sino meras palabras. Pero, detrás de ellos, hay una barrera hasta el día que sean resucitados. |
| Indonesian: | agar aku berbuat amal yang saleh terhadap yang telah aku tinggalkan. Sekali-kali tidak. Sesungguhnya itu adalah perkataan yang diucapkannya saja. Dan di hadapan mereka ada dinding sampai hari mereka dibangkitkan

| Malay:: | Supaya aku mengerjakan amal-amal yang soleh dalam perkara-perkara yang telah aku tinggalkan. Tidak! Masakan dapat? Sesungguhnya perkataannya itu hanyalah kata-kata yang dia sahaja yang mengatakannya, sedang di hadapan mereka ada alam barzakh (yang mereka tinggal tetap padanya) hingga hari mereka dibangkitkan semula (pada hari kiamat).

| German: | auf daß ich rechtschaffen handele in dem, was ich hinterlassen habe." Keineswegs! Es ist nur ein Wort, das er (so) sagt; hinter ihnen wird ein trennendes Hindernis sein bis zu dem Tag, da sie auferweckt werden. |
| Russian: | Быть может, я стану совершать праведные поступки, которые я отбросил». Но нет! Это - всего лишь слова, которые он произносит. Позади них будет преграда вплоть до того дня, когда они будут воскрешены. |
| Bosnian: | da uradim kakvo dobro u onome što sam ostavio!" – Nikada! To su riječi koje će on uzalud govoriti – pred njima će prepreka biti sve do dana kada će oživljeni biti. |
| Urdu: | تاکہ جسے میں چھوڑ آیا ہوں اس میں نیک کام کر لوں ہر گز نہیں ایک بات ہی بات ہے جسے یہ کہہ رہا ہے اور ان کے آگے قیامت تک ایک پردہ پڑا ہوا ہے |

| 101. | فَإِذَا نُفِخَ فِي الصُّورِ فَلَا أَنسَابَ بَيْنَهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ وَلَا يَتَسَاءَلُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Faitha nufikha fee alssoori fala ansaba baynahum yawmaithin wala yatasaaloona |
| Yusuf Ali: | Then when the Trumpet is blown, there will be no more relationships between them that Day, nor will one ask after another! |
| Shakir: | So when the trumpet is blown, there shall be no ties of relationship between them on that day, nor shall they ask of each other. |
| Pickthall: | And when the trumpet is blown there will be no kinship among them that day, nor will they ask of one another. |
| Mohsin Khan: | Then, when the Trumpet is blown, there will be no kinship among them that Day, nor will they ask of one another. |
| French: | Puis quand on soufflera dans la Trompe, il n'y aura plus de parenté entre eux ce jour là, et ils ne se poseront pas de questions. |
| Spanish: | Y, cuando se toque la trompeta, ese día, no valdrá ningún parentesco, ni se preguntarán unos a otros. |
| Indonesian: | Apabila sangkakala ditiup maka tidaklah ada lagi pertalian nasab di antara mereka pada hari itu dan tidak ada pula mereka saling bertanya.

| Malay:: | Kemudian, apabila ditiup sangkakala, maka pada hari itu tidak ada lagi manfaat pertalian kerabat di antara mereka dan tidak pula sempat mereka bertanya-tanyaan.

| German: | Wenn dann ins Horn geblasen wird, dann wird es zwischen ihnen keine Verwandt schaft mehr geben an jenem Tag, und sie fragen sich nicht mehr gegenseitig. |
| Russian: | А в тот день, когда затрубят в Рог, между ними не останется родственных связей, и они не будут расспрашивать друг друга. |
| Bosnian: | Pa kad se u Rog puhne, tada rodbinskih veza među njima neće biti i jedni druge neće ništa pitati. |
| Urdu: | پھر جب صور پھونکا جائے گا تو اس دن ان میں نہ رشتہ داریاں رہیں گے اور نہ کوئی کسی کو پوچھے گا |

| 102. | فَمَن ثَقُلَتْ مَوَازِينُهُ فَأُولَـٰئِكَ هُمُ الْمُفْلِحُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Faman thaqulat mawazeenuhu faolaika humu almuflihoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | Then those whose balance (of good deeds) is heavy,- they will attain salvation: |

| 103. | وَمَنْ خَفَّتْ مَوَازِينُهُ فَأُولَـٰئِكَ الَّذِينَ خَسِرُوا أَنفُسَهُمْ فِي جَهَنَّمَ خَالِدُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Waman khaffat mawazeenuhu faolaika allatheena khasiroo anfusahum fee jahannama khalidoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | But those whose balance is light, will be those who have lost their souls, in Hell will they abide. |
| Shakir: | And as for him whose good deeds are light, these are they who shall have lost their souls, abiding in hell |
| Pickthall: | And those whose scales are light are those who lose their souls, in hell abiding. |
| Mohsin Khan: | And those whose scales (of good deeds) are light, they are those who lose their ownselves, in Hell will they abide. |
| French: | et ceux dont la balance est légère seront ceux qui ont ruiné leurs propres âmes et ils demeureront éternellement dans l'Enfer. |

| 104. | تَلْفَحُ وُجُوهَهُمُ النَّارُ وَهُمْ فِيهَا كَالِحُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Talfahu wujoohahumu alnnaru wahum feeha kalihoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | The Fire will burn their faces, and they will therein grin, with their lips displaced. |
| Shakir: | The fire shall scorch their faces, and they therein shall be in severe affliction. |
| Pickthall: | The fire burneth their faces, and they are glum therein. |
| Mohsin Khan: | The Fire will burn their faces, and therein they will grin, with displaced lips (disfigured). |
| French: | Le feu brûlera leurs visages et ils auront les lèvres crispées. |
| Spanish: | El fuego abrasará su rostro; tendrán allí los labios contraídos. |
| Indonesian: | Muka mereka dibakar api neraka, dan mereka di dalam neraka itu dalam keadaan cacat.

| German: | Das Feuer schlägt in ihre Gesichter, und sie werden darin erblaßt sein.. |

| 105. | أَلَمْ تَكُنْ آيَاتِي تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْكُمْ فَكُنتُم بِهَا تُكَذِّبُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Alam takun ayatee tutla AAalaykum fakuntum biha tukaththiboona |
| Yusuf Ali: | "Were not My Signs rehearsed to you, and ye did but treat them as falsehood?" |
| Shakir: | Were not My communications recited to you? But you used to reject them. |
| Pickthall: | (It will be said): Were not My revelations recited unto you, and then ye used to deny them? |
| Mohsin Khan: | "Were not My Verses (this Qur'an) recited to you, and then you used to deny them?" |
| French: | «Mes versets ne vous étaient-ils pas récités et vous les traitiez alors de mensonges?» |
| Spanish: | «¿No se os recitaron Mis aleyas y vosotros las desmentisteis?» |
| Indonesian: | Bukankah ayat-ayat-Ku telah dibacakan kepadamu sekalian, tetapi kamu selalu mendustakannya?

| Russian: | Разве вам не читали Мои аяты, а вы считали их ложью? |

| Urdu: | کیا تمہیں ہماری آیتیں نہیں سنائی جاتی تھیں پھر تم انہیں جھٹلاتے تھے |

| 106. | قَالُوا رَبَّنَا غَلَبَتْ عَلَيْنَا شِقْوَتُنَا وَكُنَّا قَوْمًا ضَالِّينَ |
| Transliteration: | Qaloo rabbana ghalabat AAalayna shiqwatuna wakunna qawman dalleena |
| Yusuf Ali: | They will say: "our Lord! Our misfortune overwhelmed us, and we became a people astray! |
| Shakir: | They shall say: O our Lord! our adversity overcame us and we were an erring people: |
| Pickthall: | They will say: Our Lord! Our evil fortune conquered us, and we were erring folk. |
| Mohsin Khan: | They will say: "Our Lord! Our wretchedness overcame us, and we were (an) erring people. |
| French: | Ils dirent: «Seigneur! Notre malheur nous a vaincus, et nous étions des gens égarés. |
| Spanish: | «¡Señor!», dirán, «nuestra miseria nos pudo y fuimos gente extraviada. |
| Indonesian: | Mereka berkata: "Ya Tuhan kami, kami telah dikuasai oleh kejahatan kami, dan adalah kami orang-orang yang sesat.

| Malay:: | Mereka menjawab: Wahai Tuhan kami, kami telah dikalahkan oleh sebab-sebab kecelakaan kami dan dengan itu menjadilah kami kaum yang sesat.

| German: | Sie werden sagen: "Unser Herr, unser Unglück hat uns besiegt, und wir waren irregehende Leute. |
| Russian: | Они скажут: «Господи! Наше злосчастие одолело нас, и мы оказались заблудшими людьми. |
| Bosnian: | "Gospodaru naš" – reći će – "naši prohtjevi su bili od nas jači, te smo postali narod zalutali. |
| Urdu: | کہیں گے اے ہمارے رب ہم پر ہماری بدبختی غالب آگئی تھی اور ہم لوگ گمراہ تھے |

| 107. | رَبَّنَا أَخْرِجْنَا مِنْهَا فَإِنْ عُدْنَا فَإِنَّا ظَالِمُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Rabbana akhrijna minha fain AAudna fainna thalimoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | "Our Lord! bring us out of this: if ever we return (to Evil), then shall we be wrong-doers indeed!" |
| Shakir: | O our Lord! Take us out of it; then if we return (to evil) surely we shall be unjust. |
| Pickthall: | Our Lord! Oh, bring us forth from hence! If we return (to evil) then indeed we shall be wrong-doers. |
| Mohsin Khan: | "Our Lord! Bring us out of this. If ever we return (to evil), then indeed we shall be Zalimun: (polytheists, oppressors, unjust, and wrong-doers)." |
| French: | Seigneur, fais nous-en sortir! Et si nous récidivons, nous serons alors des injustes». |
| Spanish: | ¡Señor! ¡Sácanos de ella! Si reincidimos, seremos unos impíos». |
| Indonesian: | Ya Tuhan kami, keluarkanlah kami daripadanya (dan kembalikanlah kami ke dunia), maka jika kami kembali (juga kepada kekafiran), sesungguhnya kami adalah orang-orang yang zalim."

| Malay:: | Wahai Tuhan kami, keluarkanlah kami dari Neraka ini (serta kembalikanlah kami ke dunia); setelah itu kalau kami kembali lagi (mengerjakan kufur dan maksiat), maka sesungguhnya kami orang-orang yang zalim.

| German: | Unser Herr, bringe uns aus ihr heraus. Wenn wir rückfällig werden, dann sind wir (wirklich) ungerecht." |

| Bosnian: | Gospodaru naš, izbavi nas iz nje; ako bismo ponovo zlo radili, sami bismo sebi nepravdu učinili." |

| 108. | قَالَ اخْسَئُوا فِيهَا وَلَا تُكَلِّمُونِ |
| Transliteration: | Qala ikhsaoo feeha wala tukallimooni |
| Yusuf Ali: | He will say: "Be ye driven into it (with ignominy)! And speak ye not to Me! |
| Shakir: | He shall say: Go away into it and speak not to Me; |
| Pickthall: | He saith: Begone therein, and speak not unto Me. |
| Mohsin Khan: | He (Allah) will say: "Remain you in it with ignominy! And speak you not to Me!" |
| French: | Il dit: «Soyez-y refoulés (humiliés) et ne Me parlez plus». |
| Spanish: | Dirá: «¡Quedaos en ella y no Me habléis!» |
| Indonesian: | Allah berfirman: "Tinggallah dengan hina di dalamnya, dan janganlah kamu berbicara dengan Aku.

| Malay:: | (Allah) berfirman: Diamlah kamu dengan kehinaan di dalam Neraka dan janganlah kamu berkata-kata (memohon sesuatupun) kepadaKu!

| German: | Er sagt: "Seid darin verstoßen, und sprecht nicht mit Mir. |
| Russian: | Он скажет: «Оставайтесь здесь с позором и не говорите со Мной! |
| Bosnian: | "Ostanite u njoj prezreni i ništa Mi ne govorite!" – reći će On. |
| Urdu: | فرمائے گا اس میں پھٹکارے ہوئے پڑے رہو اور مجھ سے نہ بولو |

| 109. | إِنَّهُ كَانَ فَرِيقٌ مِّنْ عِبَادِي يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَا آمَنَّا فَاغْفِرْ لَنَا وَارْحَمْنَا وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ الرَّاحِمِينَ |
| Transliteration: | Innahu kana fareequn min AAibadee yaqooloona rabbana amanna faighfir lana wairhamna waanta khayru alrrahimeena |
| Yusuf Ali: | "A part of My servants there was, who used to pray 'our Lord! we believe; then do Thou forgive us, and have mercy upon us: For Thou art the Best of those who show mercy!" |
| Shakir: | Surely there was a party of My servants who said: O our Lord! we believe, so do Thou forgive us and have mercy on us, and Thou art the best of the Merciful ones. |
| Pickthall: | Lo! there was a party of My slaves who said: Our Lord! We believe, therefor forgive us and have mercy on us for Thou art Best of all who show mercy; |
| Mohsin Khan: | Verily there was a party of My slaves, who used to say: "Our Lord! We believe, so forgive us, and have mercy on us, for You are the Best of all who show mercy!" |
| French: | Il y eut un groupe de Mes serviteurs qui dirent: «Seigneur, nous croyons; pardonne-nous donc et fais-nous miséricorde, car Tu es le meilleur des Miséricordieux» |
| Spanish: | Algunos de Mis siervos decían: «¡Señor! ¡Creemos! ¡Perdónanos, pues, y ten misericordia de nosotros! ¡Tú eres el Mejor de quienes tienen misericordia!» |
| Indonesian: | Sesungguhnya, ada segolongan dari hamba-hamba-Ku berdo'a (di dunia): 'Ya Tuhan kami, kami telah beriman, maka ampunilah kami dan berilah kami rahmat dan Engkau adalah Pemberi rahmat Yang Paling Baik.'

| Malay:: | Sesungguhnya ada sepuak diri hamba-hambaKu (di dunia dahulu) memohon kepadaKu dengan berkata: Wahai Tuhan kami, kami telah beriman; oleh itu ampunkanlah dosa kami serta berilah rahmat kepada kami dan sememangnya Engkaulah jua sebaik-baik Pemberi rahmat.

| German: | Gewiß, eine Gruppe von Meinen Dienern pflegte zu sagen: .Unser Herr, wir glauben, so vergib uns und erbarme Dich unser, denn Du bist der Beste der Barmherzigen.' |
| Russian: | Воистину, некоторые из Моих рабов говорили: «Господи! Мы уверовали. Прости же нас и помилуй, ибо Ты - Наилучший из милосердных». |
| Bosnian: | "Kad su neki robovi Moji govorili: 'Gospodaru naš, mi vjerujemo, zato nam oprosti i smiluj nam se, jer Ti si najmilostiviji!' – |
| Urdu: | میرے بندوں میں سے ایک گروہ تھا جو کہتے تھے اے ہمارے رب ہم ایمان لائے تو ہمیں بخش دے اور ہم پر رحم کرو اور تو بہت بڑا رحم کرنے والا ہے |

| 110. | فَاتَّخَذْتُمُوهُمْ سِخْرِيًّا حَتَّىٰ أَنسَوْكُمْ ذِكْرِي وَكُنتُم مِّنْهُمْ تَضْحَكُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Faittakhathtumoohum sikhriyyan hatta ansawkum thikree wakuntum minhum tadhakoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | "But ye treated them with ridicule, so much so that (ridicule of) them made you forget My Message while ye were laughing at them! |
| Shakir: | But you took them for a mockery until they made you forget My remembrance and you used to laugh at them. |
| Pickthall: | But ye chose them for a laughing-stock until they caused you to forget remembrance of Me, while ye laughed at them. |
| Mohsin Khan: | But you took them for a laughing stock, so much so that they made you forget My Remembrance while you used to laugh at them! |
| French: | mais vous les avez pris en raillerie jusqu'à oublier de M'invoquer, et vous vous riiez d'eux. |
| Spanish: | Pero os burlasteis tanto de ellos que hicieron que os olvidarais de Mí. Os reíais de ellos. |
| Indonesian: | Lalu kamu menjadikan mereka buah ejekan, sehingga (kesibukan) kamu mengejek mereka, menjadikan kamu lupa mengingat Aku, dan adalah kamu selalu menertawakan mereka.

| Malay:: | Maka kamu jadikan mereka ejek-ejekan sehingga ejek-ejekan kamu kepada mereka menyebabkan kamu lupa mengingati balasanKu dan kamu pula sentiasa tertawakan mereka.

| German: | Aber ihr nahmt sie zum Gegenstand des Spottes, bis ihr ihretwegen Meine Ermahnung vergaßt, und ihr pflegtet über sie zu lachen. |
| Russian: | Вы же насмехались над ними, пока не забыли Мое Напоминание. И вы смеялись над ними. |
| Bosnian: | vi ste im se toliko rugali da ste zbog toga na Mene zaboravljali i uvijek ste ih ismijavali. |
| Urdu: | سو تم نے ان کی ہنسی اڑائی یہا ں تک کہ انہوں نے تمہیں میری یاد بھی بھلادی اور تم ان سے ہنسی ہی کرتے رہے |

| 111. | إِنِّي جَزَيْتُهُمُ الْيَوْمَ بِمَا صَبَرُوا أَنَّهُمْ هُمُ الْفَائِزُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Innee jazaytuhumu alyawma bima sabaroo annahum humu alfaizoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | "I have rewarded them this Day for their patience and constancy: they are indeed the ones that have achieved Bliss..." |
| Shakir: | Surely I have rewarded them this day because they were patient, that they are the achievers. |
| Pickthall: | Lo! I have rewarded them this day forasmuch as they were steadfast in that they, even they, are the triumphant. |
| Mohsin Khan: | Verily I have rewarded them this Day for their patience: they are indeed the ones that are successful. |
| French: | Vraiment, Je les ai récompensés aujourd'hui pour ce qu'ils ont enduré; et ce sont eux les triomphants. |
| Spanish: | Hoy les retribuyo por la paciencia que tuvieron. Ellos son los que triunfan. |
| Indonesian: | Sesungguhnya Aku memberi balasan kepada mereka di hari ini, karena kesabaran mereka; sesungguhnya mereka itulah orang-orang yang menang." .

| Malay:: | Sesungguhnya Aku membalas mereka pada hari ini (dengan sebaik-baik balasan) disebabkan kesabaran mereka; sesungguhnya mereka itulah orang-orang yang berjaya.

| German: | Ich habe ihnen heute, daß sie standhaft waren, damit vergolten, daß sie die Erfolgreichen sind." |
| Russian: | Сегодня Я вознаградил их за то, что они проявили терпение. Воистину, они являются преуспевшими». |
| Bosnian: | Njih sam Ja danas nagradio za ono što su trpjeli, oni su, doista, postigli ono što su željeli. |
| Urdu: | آج میں نے انہیں ان کے صبر کا بدلہ دیا کہ وہی کامیاب ہوئے |

| 112. | قَالَ كَمْ لَبِثْتُمْ فِي الْأَرْضِ عَدَدَ سِنِينَ |
| Transliteration: | Qala kam labithtum fee alardi AAadada sineena |
| Yusuf Ali: | He will say: "What number of years did ye stay on earth?" |
| Shakir: | He will say: How many years did you tarry in the earth? |
| Pickthall: | He will say: How long tarried ye in the earth, counting by years? |
| Mohsin Khan: | He (Allah) will say: "What number of years did you stay on earth?" |
| French: | Il dira: «Combien d'années êtes-vous restés sur terre?» |
| Spanish: | Dirá: «¿Cuántos años habéis permanecido en la tierra?» |
| Indonesian: | Allah bertanya: "Berapa tahunkah lamanya kamu tinggal di bumi?"

| Malay:: | Allah bertanya lagi (kepada mereka yang kafir itu): Berapa tahun lamanya kamu tinggal di bumi?

| German: | Er wird sagen: "Wie viele Jahre habt ihr in der Erde verweilt?" |
| Russian: | Аллах скажет: «Сколько лет вы пробыли на земле?». |
| Bosnian: | A koliko ste godina na Zemlji proveli?" – upitaće On. |
| Urdu: | فرمائے گا تم زمین پر گنتی کے کتنےبرس رہے |

| 113. | قَالُوا لَبِثْنَا يَوْمًا أَوْ بَعْضَ يَوْمٍ فَاسْأَلِ الْعَادِّينَ |
| Transliteration: | Qaloo labithna yawman aw baAAda yawmin faisali alAAaddeena |
| Yusuf Ali: | They will say: "We stayed a day or part of a day: but ask those who keep account." |
| Shakir: | They will say: We tarried a day or part of a day, but ask those who keep account. |
| Pickthall: | They will say: We tarried by a day or part of a day. Ask of those who keep count! |
| Mohsin Khan: | They will say: "We stayed a day or part of a day. Ask of those who keep account." |
| French: | Ils diront: «Nous y avons demeuré un jour, ou une partie d'un jour. Interroge donc ceux qui comptent.» |
| Spanish: | Dirán: «Hemos permanecido un día o parte de un día. ¡Interroga a los encargados de contar!» |
| Indonesian: | Mereka menjawab: "Kami tinggal (di bumi) sehari atau setengah hari, maka tanyakanlah kepada orang-orang yang menghitung."

| Malay:: | Mereka menjawab: Kami tinggal (di dunia) selama sehari atau sebahagian dari sehari; maka bertanyalah kepada golongan (malaikat) yang menjaga urusan menghitung

| German: | Sie werden sagen: "Verweilt haben wir einen Tag oder den Teil von einem Tag; doch frage diejenigen, die zählen (können)." |
| Russian: | Они скажут: «Мы пробыли день или часть дня. Лучше спроси тех, кто вел счет». |
| Bosnian: | "Proveli smo dan ili samo dio dana" – odgovoriće – "pitaj one koji su brojali." |
| Urdu: | کہیں گے ایک دن یا اس سے بھی کم رہے ہیں پس آپ گنتی کرنے والوں سے پوچھ لیں |

| 114. | قَالَ إِن لَّبِثْتُمْ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا ۖ لَّوْ أَنَّكُمْ كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Qala in labithtum illa qaleelan law annakum kuntum taAAlamoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | He will say: "Ye stayed not but a little,- if ye had only known! |
| Shakir: | He will say: You did tarry but a little-- had you but known (it): |
| Pickthall: | He will say: Ye tarried but a little if ye only knew. |
| Mohsin Khan: | He (Allah) will say: "You stayed not but a little, if you had only known! |
| French: | Il dira: «Vous n'y avez demeuré que peu [de temps], si seulement vous saviez. |
| Spanish: | Dirá: «No habéis permanecido sino poco tiempo. Si hubierais sabido... |
| Indonesian: | Allah berfirman: "Kamu tidak tinggal (di bumi) melainkan sebentar saja, kalau kamu sesungguhnya mengetahui." .

| Malay:: | Allah berfirman: Kamu tidak tinggal (di dunia) melainkan sedikit masa sahaja, kalau kamu dahulu mengetahui hal ini (tentulah kamu bersiap sedia).

| German: | Er wird sagen: "Ihr habt nur ein wenig verweilt, wenn ihr doch nur wüßtet! |
| Russian: | Он скажет: «Вы пробыли немного, если бы вы только знали. |
| Bosnian: | "Pa da, kratko ste proveli" – reći će On – "da ste samo znali! |
| Urdu: | فرمائے گا تم اس میں بہت نہیں تھوڑا ہی رہے ہو کاش کہ تم سمجھ لیتے |

| 115. | أَفَحَسِبْتُمْ أَنَّمَا خَلَقْنَاكُمْ عَبَثًا وَأَنَّكُمْ إِلَيْنَا لَا تُرْجَعُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Afahasibtum annama khalaqnakum AAabathan waannakum ilayna la turjaAAoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | "Did ye then think that We had created you in jest, and that ye would not be brought back to Us (for account)?" |
| Shakir: | What! did you then think that We had created you in vain and that you shall not be returned to Us? |
| Pickthall: | Deemed ye then that We had created you for naught, and that ye would not be returned unto Us? |
| Mohsin Khan: | "Did you think that We had created you in play (without any purpose), and that you would not be brought back to Us?" |
| French: | Pensiez-vous que Nous vous avions créés sans but, et que vous ne seriez pas ramenés vers Nous?» |
| Spanish: | ¿Os figurabais que os habíamos creado para pasar el rato y que no ibais a ser devueltos a Nosotros?» |
| Indonesian: | Maka apakah kamu mengira, bahwa sesungguhnya Kami menciptakan kamu secara main-main (saja), dan bahwa kamu tidak akan dikembalikan kepada Kami?

| Malay:: | Maka adakah patut kamu menyangka bahawa Kami hanya menciptakan kamu (dari tiada kepada ada) sahaja dengan tiada sebarang hikmat pada ciptaan itu? Dan kamu (menyangka pula) tidak akan dikembalikan kepada Kami?

| German: | Meint ihr denn, daß Wir euch zum sinnlosen Spiel erschaffen hätten und daß ihr nicht zu Uns zurückgebracht würdet?" |
| Russian: | Неужели вы полагали, что Мы сотворили вас ради забавы и что вы не будете возвращены к Нам?». |
| Bosnian: | Zar ste mislili da smo vas uzalud stvorili i da Nam se nećete povratiti?" |
| Urdu: | سو کیا تم یہ خیال کرتے ہو کہ ہم نے تمہیں نکما پیدا کیا ہے اور یہ کہ تم ہمارے پاس لوٹ کر نہیں آؤ گے |

| 116. | فَتَعَالَى اللَّهُ الْمَلِكُ الْحَقُّ ۖ لَا إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْكَرِيمِ |
| Transliteration: | FataAAala Allahu almaliku alhaqqu la ilaha illa huwa rabbu alAAarshi alkareemi |
| Yusuf Ali: | Therefore exalted be Allah, the King, the Reality: there is no god but He, the Lord of the Throne of Honour! |
| Shakir: | So exalted be Allah, the True King; no god is there but He, the Lord of the honorable dominion. |
| Pickthall: | Now Allah be Exalted, the True King! There is no Allah save Him, the Lord of the Throne of Grace. |
| Mohsin Khan: | So Exalted be Allah, the True King: La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), the Lord of the Supreme Throne! |
| French: | Que soit exalté Allah, le vrai Souverain! Pas de divinité en dehors de Lui, le Seigneur du Trône sublime! |
| Spanish: | ¡Exaltado sea Alá, el Rey verdadero! No hay más dios que Él, el Señor del Trono noble. |
| Indonesian: | Maka Maha Tinggi Allah, Raja Yang Sebenarnya; tidak ada Tuhan (yang berhak disembah) selain Dia, Tuhan (Yang mempunyai) 'Arsy yang mulia.

| Malay:: | Maka (dengan yang demikian) Maha Tinggilah Allah Yang Menguasai seluruh alam, lagi Yang Tetap Benar; tiada Tuhan melainkan Dia, Tuhan yang mempunyai Arasy yang mulia.

| German: | Doch Erhaben ist Allah, der König, der Wahre. Es gibt keinen Gott außer Ihm, dem Herrn des ehrwürdigen Thrones. |
| Russian: | Превыше всего Аллах, Истинный Властелин! Нет божества, кроме Него, Господа благородного Трона. |
| Bosnian: | I neka je uzvišen Allah, Vladar istiniti, nema drugog boga osim Njega, Gospodara svemira veličanstvenog! |
| Urdu: | سو الله بہت ہی عالیشان ہے جو حقیقی بادشاہ ہے اس کے سوا اور کوئی معبود نہیں عرش عظیم کا مالک ہے |

| 117. | وَمَن يَدْعُ مَعَ اللَّهِ إِلَـٰهًا آخَرَ لَا بُرْهَانَ لَهُ بِهِ فَإِنَّمَا حِسَابُهُ عِندَ رَبِّهِ ۚ إِنَّهُ لَا يُفْلِحُ الْكَافِرُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Waman yadAAu maAAa Allahi ilahan akhara la burhana lahu bihi fainnama hisabuhu AAinda rabbihi innahu la yuflihu alkafiroona |
| Yusuf Ali: | If anyone invokes, besides Allah, Any other god, he has no authority therefor; and his reckoning will be only with his Lord! and verily the Unbelievers will fail to win through! |
| Shakir: | And whoever invokes with Allah another god-- he has no proof of this-- his reckoning is only with his Lord; surely the unbelievers shall not be successful. |
| Pickthall: | He who crieth unto any other god along with Allah hath no proof thereof. His reckoning is only with his Lord. Lo! disbelievers will not be successful. |
| Mohsin Khan: | And whoever invokes (or worships), besides Allah, any other ilah (god), of whom he has no proof; then his reckoning is only with his Lord. Surely! Al-Kafirun (the disbelievers in Allah and in the Oneness of Allah, polytheists, pagans, idolaters) will not be successful. |
| French: | Et quiconque invoque avec Allah une autre divinité, sans avoir la preuve évidente [de son existence], aura à en rendre compte à son Seigneur. En vérité, les mécréants, ne réussiront pas. |
| Spanish: | Quien invoque a otro dios junto con Alá, sin tener prueba de ello, tendrá que dar cuenta sólo a su Señor. Los infieles no prosperarán |
| Indonesian: | Dan barangsiapa menyembah tuhan yang lain di samping Allah, padahal tidak ada suatu dalilpun baginya tentang itu, maka sesungguhnya perhitungannya di sisi Tuhannya. Sesungguhnya orang-orang yang kafir itu tiada beruntung.

| Malay:: | Dan sesiapa yang menyembah tuhan yang lain bersama-sama Allah, dengan tidak berdasarkan sebarang keterangan mengenainya, maka sesungguhnya hitungannya (dan balasan amalnya yang jahat itu) disediakan di sisi Tuhannya. Sesungguhnya orang-orang yang kafir tidak akan berjaya.

| German: | Und wer neben Allah einen anderen Gott anruft, für den er keinen Beweis hat, dessen Abrechnung liegt nur bei seinem Herrn. Gewiß, den Ungläubigen wird es nicht wohl ergehen. |
| Russian: | У того, кто молится наряду с Аллахом другим богам, нет в пользу этого никакого довода. Его счет хранится у его Господа. Воистину, неверующие не преуспеют. |
| Bosnian: | A onaj koji se, pored Allaha, moli drugom bogu, bez ikakva dokaza o njemu, pred Gospodarom svojim će račun polagati, i nevjernici ono što žele neće postići. |
| Urdu: | اور جس نے الله کے ساتھ اور معبو کو پکارا جس کی اس کے پاس کوئی سند نہیں تو اس کا حساب اسی کے رب کے ہاں ہوگا بے شک کافر نجات نہیں پائیں گے |

| 118. | وَقُل رَّبِّ اغْفِرْ وَارْحَمْ وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ الرَّاحِمِينَ |
| Transliteration: | Waqul rabbi ighfir wairham waanta khayru alrrahimeena |
| Yusuf Ali: | So say: "O my Lord! grant Thou forgiveness and mercy for Thou art the Best of those who show mercy!" |
| Shakir: | And say: O my Lord! forgive and have mercy, and Thou art the best of the Merciful ones. |
| Pickthall: | And (O Muhammad) say: My Lord! Forgive and have mercy, for Thou art Best of all who show mercy. |
| Mohsin Khan: | And say (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم): "My Lord! Forgive and have mercy, for You are the Best of those who show mercy!" |
| French: | Et dis: «Seigneur, pardonne et fais miséricorde. C'est Toi le Meilleur des miséricordieux». |
| Spanish: | Y di: «¡Señor! ¡Perdona y ten misericordia! ¡Tú eres el Mejor de quienes tienen misericordia!» |
| Indonesian: | Dan katakanlah: "Ya Tuhanku berilah ampun dan berilah rahmat, dan Engkau adalah Pemberi rahmat Yang Paling baik."

| Malay:: | Dan berdoalah (wahai Muhammad dengan berkata): Wahai Tuhanku, berikanlah ampun dan kurniakan rahmat dan sememangnya Engkaulah sahaja sebaik-baik Pemberi rahmat!

| German: | Und sag: Mein Herr, vergib und erbarme Dich, denn Du bist der Beste der Barmherzigen. |
| Russian: | Скажи: «Господи, прости и помилуй, ведь Ты - Наилучший из милосердных!». |
| Bosnian: | I reci: "Gospodaru moj, oprosti i smiluj se, Ti si najmilostiviji!" |
| Urdu: | اورکہو اے میرے رب معاف کر اور رحم کر اور تو سب سے بہتر رحم کرنے والا ہے |
