| 161. | وَأَخْذِهِمُ الرِّبَا وَقَدْ نُهُوا عَنْهُ وَأَكْلِهِمْ أَمْوَالَ النَّاسِ بِالْبَاطِلِ ۚ وَأَعْتَدْنَا لِلْكَافِرِينَ مِنْهُمْ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًا |
| Transliteration: | Waakhthihimu alrriba waqad nuhoo AAanhu waaklihim amwala alnnasi bialbatili waaAAtadna lilkafireena minhum AAathaban aleeman |
| Yusuf Ali: | That they took usury, though they were forbidden; and that they devoured men's substance wrongfully;- we have prepared for those among them who reject faith a grievous punishment. |
| Shakir: | And their taking usury though indeed they were forbidden it and their devouring the property of people falsely, and We have prepared for the unbelievers from among them a painful chastisement. |
| Pickthall: | And of their taking usury when they were forbidden it, and of their devouring people's wealth by false pretences, We have prepared for those of them who disbelieve a painful doom. |

| Spanish: | por usurear, a pesar de habérseles prohibido, y por haber devorado la hacienda ajena injustamente. A los infieles de entre ellos les hemos preparado un castigo doloroso. |
| Indonesian: | dan disebabkan mereka memakan riba, padahal sesungguhnya mereka telah dilarang daripadanya, dan karena mereka memakan harta orang dengan jalan yang bathil. Kami telah menyediakan untuk orang-orang yang kafir di antara mereka itu siksa yang pedih.

| Malay:: | Dan juga (disebabkan) mereka mengambil riba padahal mereka telah dilarang melakukannya, dan (disebabkan) mereka memakan harta orang dengan jalan yang salah (tipu, judi dan sebagainya) dan (ingatlah) Kami telah menyediakan bagi orang-orang yang kafir di antara mereka, azab seksa yang tidak terperi sakitnya.

| German: | und (weil sie) Zins nahmen, wo es ihnen doch verboten worden war, und den Besitz der Menschen in unrechter Weise aufzehrten. Und Wir haben den Ungläubigen unter ihnen schmerzhafte Strafe bereitet. |
