يَا أَيُّهَا الْمُدَّثِّرُ
Transliteration 1: Ya ayyuha almuddaththiru
Yusuf Ali 1: O thou wrapped up (in the mantle)!
Mohsin Khan: 1: O you (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) enveloped in garments!
Saheeh: 1: O you who covers himself [with a garment],
Urdu 1: اے کپڑے میں لپٹنے والے


2  
قُمْ فَأَنذِرْ
Transliteration 2: Qum faanthir
Yusuf Ali 2: Arise and deliver thy warning!
Mohsin Khan: 2: Arise and warn!
Saheeh: 2: Arise and warn
Urdu 2: اٹھو پھر (کافروں کو) ڈراؤ


3  
وَرَبَّكَ فَكَبِّرْ
Transliteration 3: Warabbaka fakabbir
Yusuf Ali 3: And thy Lord do thou magnify!
Mohsin Khan: 3: And magnify your Lord (Allah)!
Saheeh: 3: And your Lord glorify
Urdu 3: اور اپنے رب کی بڑائی بیان کرو


4  
وَثِيَابَكَ فَطَهِّرْ
Transliteration 4: Wathiyabaka fatahhir
Yusuf Ali 4: And thy garments keep free from stain!
Mohsin Khan: 4: And purify your garments!
Saheeh: 4: And your clothing purify
Urdu 4: اور اپنے کپڑے پاک رکھو


5  
وَالرُّجْزَ فَاهْجُرْ
Transliteration 5: Waalrrujza faohjur
Yusuf Ali 5: And all abomination shun!
Mohsin Khan: 5: And keep away from Ar-Rujz (the idols)!
Saheeh: 5: And uncleanliness avoid
Urdu 5: اورمیل کچیل دور کرو


6  
وَلَا تَمْنُن تَسْتَكْثِرُ
Transliteration 6: Wala tamnun tastakthiru
Yusuf Ali 6: Nor expect, in giving, any increase (for thyself)!
Mohsin Khan: 6: And give not a thing in order to have more (or consider not your deeds of obedience to Allah as a favour to Him).
Saheeh: 6: And do not confer favor to acquire more
Urdu 6: اوربدلہ پانے کی غرض سے احسان نہ کرو


7  
وَلِرَبِّكَ فَاصْبِرْ
Transliteration 7: Walirabbika faisbir
Yusuf Ali 7: But, for thy Lord's (Cause), be patient and constant!
Mohsin Khan: 7: And be patient for the sake of your Lord (i.e. perform your duty to Allah)!
Saheeh: 7: But for your Lord be patient.
Urdu 7: اوراپنے رب کے لیے صبر کرو


8  
فَإِذَا نُقِرَ فِي النَّاقُورِ
Transliteration 8: Faitha nuqira fee alnnaqoori
Yusuf Ali 8: Finally, when the Trumpet is sounded,
Mohsin Khan: 8: Then, when the Trumpet is sounded (i.e. the second blowing of the horn).
Saheeh: 8: And when the trumpet is blown,
Urdu 8: پھر جب صور میں پھونکا جائے گا


9  
فَذَ‌ٰلِكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ يَوْمٌ عَسِيرٌ
Transliteration 9: Fathalika yawmaithin yawmun AAaseerun
Yusuf Ali 9: That will be- that Day - a Day of Distress,-
Mohsin Khan: 9: Truly, that Day will be a Hard Day -
Saheeh: 9: That Day will be a difficult day
Urdu 9: پس وہ اس دن بڑا کٹھن دن ہو گا


10  
عَلَى الْكَافِرِينَ غَيْرُ يَسِيرٍ
Transliteration 10: AAala alkafireena ghayru yaseerin
Yusuf Ali 10: Far from easy for those without Faith.
Mohsin Khan: 10: Far from easy for the disbelievers.
Saheeh: 10: For the disbelievers - not easy.
Urdu 10: کافروں پر وہ آسان نہ ہو گا


11  
ذَرْنِي وَمَنْ خَلَقْتُ وَحِيدًا
Transliteration 11: Tharnee waman khalaqtu waheedan
Yusuf Ali 11: Leave Me alone, (to deal) with the (creature) whom I created (bare and) alone!-
Mohsin Khan: 11: Leave Me Alone (to deal) with whom I created lonely (without any wealth or children etc, i.e. Al-Walid bin Al-Mughirah Al-Makhzumi)!
Saheeh: 11: Leave Me with the one I created alone
Urdu 11: مجھے اور اس کو چھوڑ دو کہ جس کو میں نے اکیلا پیدا کیا


12  
وَجَعَلْتُ لَهُ مَالًا مَّمْدُودًا
Transliteration 12: WajaAAaltu lahu malan mamdoodan
Yusuf Ali 12: To whom I granted resources in abundance,
Mohsin Khan: 12: And then granted him resources in abundance.
Saheeh: 12: And to whom I granted extensive wealth
Urdu 12: اوراس کوبڑھنے والا مال دیا


13  
وَبَنِينَ شُهُودًا
Transliteration 13: Wabaneena shuhoodan
Yusuf Ali 13: And sons to be by his side!-
Mohsin Khan: 13: And children to be by his side.
Saheeh: 13: And children present [with him]
Urdu 13: اور حاضر رہنے والے بیٹے دیئے


14  
وَمَهَّدتُّ لَهُ تَمْهِيدًا
Transliteration 14: Wamahhadtu lahu tamheedan
Yusuf Ali 14: To whom I made (life) smooth and comfortable!
Mohsin Khan: 14: And made life smooth and comfortable for him.
Saheeh: 14: And spread [everything] before him, easing [his life].
Urdu 14: اور اس کے لیے ہر طرح کا سامان تیار کر دیا


15  
ثُمَّ يَطْمَعُ أَنْ أَزِيدَ
Transliteration 15: Thumma yatmaAAu an azeeda
Yusuf Ali 15: Yet is he greedy-that I should add (yet more);-
Mohsin Khan: 15: After all that he desires that I should give more;
Saheeh: 15: Then he desires that I should add more.
Urdu 15: پھر وہ طمع کرتا ہے کہ میں اور بڑھا دوں


16  
كَلَّا ۖ إِنَّهُ كَانَ لِآيَاتِنَا عَنِيدًا
Transliteration 16: Kalla innahu kana liayatina AAaneedan
Yusuf Ali 16: By no means! For to Our Signs he has been refractory!
Mohsin Khan: 16: Nay! Verily, he has been opposing Our Ayat (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations).
Saheeh: 16: No! Indeed, he has been toward Our verses obstinate.
Urdu 16: ہرگز نہیں بےشک وہ ہماری آیات کا سخت مخالف ہے


17  
سَأُرْهِقُهُ صَعُودًا
Transliteration 17: Saorhiquhu saAAoodan
Yusuf Ali 17: Soon will I visit him with a mount of calamities!
Mohsin Khan: 17: I shall oblige him to (climb a slippery mountain in the Hell-fire called As-Sa'ud, or) face a severe torment!
Saheeh: 17: I will cover him with arduous torment.
Urdu 17: عنقریب میں اسے اونچی گھاٹی پر چڑھاؤں گا


18  
إِنَّهُ فَكَّرَ وَقَدَّرَ
Transliteration 18: Innahu fakkara waqaddara
Yusuf Ali 18: For he thought and he plotted;-
Mohsin Khan: 18: Verily, he thought and plotted.
Saheeh: 18: Indeed, he thought and deliberated.
Urdu 18: بے شک اس نے سوچا اور اندازہ لگایا


19  
فَقُتِلَ كَيْفَ قَدَّرَ
Transliteration 19: Faqutila kayfa qaddara
Yusuf Ali 19: And woe to him! How he plotted!-
Mohsin Khan: 19: So let him be cursed: how he plotted!
Saheeh: 19: So may he be destroyed [for] how he deliberated.
Urdu 19: پھر اسے الله کی مار اس نے کیسا اندازہ لگایا


20  
ثُمَّ قُتِلَ كَيْفَ قَدَّرَ
Transliteration 20: Thumma qutila kayfa qaddara
Yusuf Ali 20: Yea, Woe to him; How he plotted!-
Mohsin Khan: 20: And once more let him be cursed: how he plotted!
Saheeh: 20: Then may he be destroyed [for] how he deliberated.
Urdu 20: پھر اسے الله کی مار اس نے کیسا اندازہ لگایا


21  
ثُمَّ نَظَرَ
Transliteration 21: Thumma nathara
Yusuf Ali 21: Then he looked round;
Mohsin Khan: 21: Then he thought.
Saheeh: 21: Then he considered [again];
Urdu 21: پھر اس نے دیکھا


22  
ثُمَّ عَبَسَ وَبَسَرَ
Transliteration 22: Thumma AAabasa wabasara
Yusuf Ali 22: Then he frowned and he scowled;
Mohsin Khan: 22: Then he frowned and he looked in a bad tempered way;
Saheeh: 22: Then he frowned and scowled;
Urdu 22: پھر اس نے تیوری چڑھائی اور منہ بنایا


23  
ثُمَّ أَدْبَرَ وَاسْتَكْبَرَ
Transliteration 23: Thumma adbara waistakbara
Yusuf Ali 23: Then he turned back and was haughty;
Mohsin Khan: 23: Then he turned back, and was proud.
Saheeh: 23: Then he turned back and was arrogant
Urdu 23: پھر پیٹھ پھیر لی اور تکبر کیا


24  
فَقَالَ إِنْ هَـٰذَا إِلَّا سِحْرٌ يُؤْثَرُ
Transliteration 24: Faqala in hatha illa sihrun yutharu
Yusuf Ali 24: Then said he: "This is nothing but magic, derived from of old;
Mohsin Khan: 24: Then he said: "This is nothing but magic from that of old,
Saheeh: 24: And said, "This is not but magic imitated [from others].
Urdu 24: پھر کہا یہ تو ایک جادو ہے جو چلا آتا ہے


25  
إِنْ هَـٰذَا إِلَّا قَوْلُ الْبَشَرِ
Transliteration 25: In hatha illa qawlu albashari
Yusuf Ali 25: "This is nothing but the word of a mortal!"
Mohsin Khan: 25: "This is nothing but the word of a human being!"
Saheeh: 25: This is not but the word of a human being."
Urdu 25: یہ تو ہو نہ ہو آدمی کا کلام ہے


26  
سَأُصْلِيهِ سَقَرَ
Transliteration 26: Saosleehi saqara
Yusuf Ali 26: Soon will I cast him into Hell-Fire!
Mohsin Khan: 26: I will cast him into Hell-fire.
Saheeh: 26: I will drive him into Saqar.
Urdu 26: عنقریب اس کو دوزخ میں ڈالوں گا


27  
وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا سَقَرُ
Transliteration 27: Wama adraka ma saqaru
Yusuf Ali 27: And what will explain to thee what Hell-Fire is?
Mohsin Khan: 27: And what will make you know (exactly) what Hell-fire is?
Saheeh: 27: And what can make you know what is Saqar?
Urdu 27: اور آپ کو کیا خبر کہ دوزخ کیا ہے


28  
لَا تُبْقِي وَلَا تَذَرُ
Transliteration 28: La tubqee wala tatharu
Yusuf Ali 28: Naught doth it permit to endure, and naught doth it leave alone!-
Mohsin Khan: 28: It spares not (any sinner), nor does it leave (anything unburnt)!
Saheeh: 28: It lets nothing remain and leaves nothing [unburned],
Urdu 28: نہ باقی رکھے اور نہ چھوڑے


29  
لَوَّاحَةٌ لِّلْبَشَرِ
Transliteration 29: Lawwahatun lilbashari
Yusuf Ali 29: Darkening and changing the colour of man!
Mohsin Khan: 29: Burning and blackening the skins!
Saheeh: 29: Blackening the skins.
Urdu 29: آدمی کو جھلس دے


30  
عَلَيْهَا تِسْعَةَ عَشَرَ
Transliteration 30: AAalayha tisAAata AAashara
Yusuf Ali 30: Over it are Nineteen.
Mohsin Khan: 30: Over it are nineteen (angels as guardians and keepers of Hell).
Saheeh: 30: Over it are nineteen [angels].
Urdu 30: اس پر انیس (فرشتے) مقرر ہیں


31  
وَمَا جَعَلْنَا أَصْحَابَ النَّارِ إِلَّا مَلَائِكَةً ۙ وَمَا جَعَلْنَا عِدَّتَهُمْ إِلَّا فِتْنَةً لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لِيَسْتَيْقِنَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْكِتَابَ وَيَزْدَادَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِيمَانًا ۙ وَلَا يَرْتَابَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْكِتَابَ وَالْمُؤْمِنُونَ ۙ وَلِيَقُولَ الَّذِينَ فِي قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٌ وَالْكَافِرُونَ مَاذَا أَرَادَ اللَّهُ بِهَـٰذَا مَثَلًا ۚ كَذَ‌ٰلِكَ يُضِلُّ اللَّهُ مَن يَشَاءُ وَيَهْدِي مَن يَشَاءُ ۚ وَمَا يَعْلَمُ جُنُودَ رَبِّكَ إِلَّا هُوَ ۚ وَمَا هِيَ إِلَّا ذِكْرَىٰ لِلْبَشَرِ
Transliteration 31: Wama jaAAalna ashaba alnnari illa malaikatan wama jaAAalna AAiddatahum illa fitnatan lillatheena kafaroo liyastayqina allatheena ootoo alkitaba wayazdada allatheena amanoo eemanan wala yartaba allatheena ootoo alkitaba waalmuminoona waliyaqoola allatheena fee quloobihim maradun waalkafiroona matha arada Allahu bihatha mathalan kathalika yudillu Allahu man yashao wayahdee man yashao wama yaAAlamu junooda rabbika illa huwa wama hiya illa thikra lilbashari
Yusuf Ali 31: And We have set none but angels as Guardians of the Fire; and We have fixed their number only as a trial for Unbelievers,- in order that the People of the Book may arrive at certainty, and the Believers may increase in Faith,- and that no doubts may be left for the People of the Book and the Believers, and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the Unbelievers may say, "What symbol doth Allah intend by this?" Thus doth Allah leave to stray whom He pleaseth, and guide whom He pleaseth: and none can know the forces of thy Lord, except He and this is no other than a warning to mankind.
Mohsin Khan: 31: And We have set none but angels as guardians of the Fire. And We have fixed their number (19) only as a trial for the disbelievers, in order that the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) may arrive at a certainty [that this Qur'an is the truth as it agrees with their Books regarding the number (19) which is written in the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] and that the believers may increase in Faith (as this Qur'an is the truth), and that no doubt may be left for the people of the Scripture and the believers, and that those in whose hearts is a disease (of hypocrisy) and the disbelievers may say: "What Allah intends by this (curious) example ?" Thus Allah leads astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none can know the hosts of your Lord but He. And this (Hell) is nothing else than a (warning) reminder to mankind.
Saheeh: 31: And We have not made the keepers of the Fire except angels. And We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve - that those who were given the Scripture will be convinced and those who have believed will increase in faith and those who were given the Scripture and the believers will not doubt and that those in whose hearts is hypocrisy and the disbelievers will say, "What does Allah intend by this as an example?" Thus does Allah leave astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none knows the soldiers of your Lord except Him. And mention of the Fire is not but a reminder to humanity.
Urdu 31: اور ہم نے دوزخ پر فرشتے ہی رکھے ہیں اور ان کی تعداد کافروں کے لیے آزمائش بنائی ہے تاکہ جن کو کتاب دی گئی ہے وہ یقین کر لیں اور ایمان داروں کا ایمان بڑھے اورتاکہ اہلِ کتاب اور ایمان دار شک نہ کریں اور تاکہ جن کے دلوں میں (نفاق کی) بیماری ہے اورکافر یہ کہیں کہ الله کی اس بیان سے کیاغرض ہے اور الله اس طرح سے جسے چاہتاہے گمراہ کر تا ہے اور جسے چاہتا ہے ہدایت کرتا ہے اور آپ کے رب کے لشکروں کو اس کے سوا اور کوئی نہیں جانتا اور دوزخ (کا حال بیان کرنا) صرف آدمیوں کی نصیحت کے لیے ہے


32  
كَلَّا وَالْقَمَرِ
Transliteration 32: Kalla waalqamari
Yusuf Ali 32: Nay, verily: By the Moon,
Mohsin Khan: 32: Nay! And by the moon
Saheeh: 32: No! By the moon
Urdu 32: نہیں نہیں قسم ہے چاند کی


33  
وَاللَّيْلِ إِذْ أَدْبَرَ
Transliteration 33: Waallayli ith adbara
Yusuf Ali 33: And by the Night as it retreateth,
Mohsin Khan: 33: And by the night when it withdraws.
Saheeh: 33: And [by] the night when it departs
Urdu 33: اور رات کی جب وہ ڈھلے


34  
وَالصُّبْحِ إِذَا أَسْفَرَ
Transliteration 34: Waalssubhi itha asfara
Yusuf Ali 34: And by the Dawn as it shineth forth,-
Mohsin Khan: 34: And by the dawn when it brightens.
Saheeh: 34: And [by] the morning when it brightens,
Urdu 34: اور صبح کی جب وہ روشن ہوجائے


35  
إِنَّهَا لَإِحْدَى الْكُبَرِ
Transliteration 35: Innaha laihda alkubari
Yusuf Ali 35: This is but one of the mighty (portents),
Mohsin Khan: 35: Verily, it (Hell, or their denial of Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم, or the Day of Resurrection) is but one of the greatest (signs).
Saheeh: 35: Indeed, the Fire is of the greatest [afflictions]
Urdu 35: کہ وہ (دوزخ) بڑی بڑی مصیبتوں میں سے ایک ہے


36  
نَذِيرًا لِّلْبَشَرِ
Transliteration 36: Natheeran lilbashari
Yusuf Ali 36: A warning to mankind,-
Mohsin Khan: 36: A warning to mankind -
Saheeh: 36: As a warning to humanity -
Urdu 36: انسان کو ڈرانے والی ہے


37  
لِمَن شَاءَ مِنكُمْ أَن يَتَقَدَّمَ أَوْ يَتَأَخَّرَ
Transliteration 37: Liman shaa minkum an yataqaddama aw yataakhkhara
Yusuf Ali 37: To any of you that chooses to press forward, or to follow behind;-
Mohsin Khan: 37: To any of you that chooses to go forward (by working righteous deeds), or to remain behind (by committing sins).
Saheeh: 37: To whoever wills among you to proceed or stay behind.
Urdu 37: تم میں سے ہر ایک کے لیے خواہ کوئی اس کے آگے آئے یا پیچھے ہٹے


38  
كُلُّ نَفْسٍ بِمَا كَسَبَتْ رَهِينَةٌ
Transliteration 38: Kullu nafsin bima kasabat raheenatun
Yusuf Ali 38: Every soul will be (held) in pledge for its deeds.
Mohsin Khan: 38: Every person is a pledge for what he has earned,
Saheeh: 38: Every soul, for what it has earned, will be retained
Urdu 38: ہر شخص اپنے اعمال کے سبب گروی ہے


39  
إِلَّا أَصْحَابَ الْيَمِينِ
Transliteration 39: Illa ashaba alyameeni
Yusuf Ali 39: Except the Companions of the Right Hand.
Mohsin Khan: 39: Except those on the Right, (i.e. the pious true believers of Islamic Monotheism).
Saheeh: 39: Except the companions of the right,
Urdu 39: مگر داہنے والے


40  
فِي جَنَّاتٍ يَتَسَاءَلُونَ
Transliteration 40: Fee jannatin yatasaaloona
Yusuf Ali 40: (They will be) in Gardens (of Delight): they will question each other,
Mohsin Khan: 40: In Gardens (Paradise) they will ask one another,
Saheeh: 40: [Who will be] in gardens, questioning each other
Urdu 40: باغوں میں ہو ں گے ایک دوسرے سے پوچھیں گے


41  
عَنِ الْمُجْرِمِينَ
Transliteration 41: AAani almujrimeena
Yusuf Ali 41: And (ask) of the Sinners:
Mohsin Khan: 41: About Al-Mujrimun (polytheists, criminals, disbelievers), (And they will say to them):
Saheeh: 41: About the criminals,
Urdu 41: گناہگارو ں کی نسبت


42  
مَا سَلَكَكُمْ فِي سَقَرَ
Transliteration 42: Ma salakakum fee saqara
Yusuf Ali 42: "What led you into Hell Fire?"
Mohsin Khan: 42: "What has caused you to enter Hell?"
Saheeh: 42: [And asking them], "What put you into Saqar?"
Urdu 42: کس چیز نے تمہیں دوزخ میں ڈالا


43  
قَالُوا لَمْ نَكُ مِنَ الْمُصَلِّينَ
Transliteration 43: Qaloo lam naku mina almusalleena
Yusuf Ali 43: They will say: "We were not of those who prayed;
Mohsin Khan: 43: They will say: "We were not of those who used to offer the Salat (prayers),
Saheeh: 43: They will say, "We were not of those who prayed,
Urdu 43: وہ کہیں گے کہ ہم نمازی نہ تھے


44  
وَلَمْ نَكُ نُطْعِمُ الْمِسْكِينَ
Transliteration 44: Walam naku nutAAimu almiskeena
Yusuf Ali 44: "Nor were we of those who fed the indigent;
Mohsin Khan: 44: "Nor we used to feed Al-Miskin (the poor);
Saheeh: 44: Nor did we used to feed the poor.
Urdu 44: اور نہ ہم مسکینوں کو کھانا کھلاتے تھے


45  
وَكُنَّا نَخُوضُ مَعَ الْخَائِضِينَ
Transliteration 45: Wakunna nakhoodu maAAa alkhaideena
Yusuf Ali 45: "But we used to talk vanities with vain talkers;
Mohsin Khan: 45: "And we used to talk falsehood (all that which Allah hated) with vain talkers.
Saheeh: 45: And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who engaged [in it],
Urdu 45: اور ہم بکواس کرنے والوں کے ساتھ بکواس کیاکرتے تھے


46  
وَكُنَّا نُكَذِّبُ بِيَوْمِ الدِّينِ
Transliteration 46: Wakunna nukaththibu biyawmi alddeeni
Yusuf Ali 46: "And we used to deny the Day of Judgment,
Mohsin Khan: 46: And we used to belie the Day of Recompense,
Saheeh: 46: And we used to deny the Day of Recompense
Urdu 46: اور ہم انصاف کے دن کو جھٹلایا کرتے تھے


47  
حَتَّىٰ أَتَانَا الْيَقِينُ
Transliteration 47: Hatta atana alyaqeenu
Yusuf Ali 47: "Until there came to us (the Hour) that is certain."
Mohsin Khan: 47: "Until there came to us (the death) that is certain."
Saheeh: 47: Until there came to us the certainty."
Urdu 47: یہاں تک کہ ہمیں موت آ پہنچی


48  
فَمَا تَنفَعُهُمْ شَفَاعَةُ الشَّافِعِينَ
Transliteration 48: Fama tanfaAAuhum shafaAAatu alshshafiAAeena
Yusuf Ali 48: Then will no intercession of (any) intercessors profit them.
Mohsin Khan: 48: So no intercession of intercessors will be of any use to them.
Saheeh: 48: So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors.
Urdu 48: پس ان کو سفارش کرنے والوں کی سفارش نفع نہ دے گی


49  
فَمَا لَهُمْ عَنِ التَّذْكِرَةِ مُعْرِضِينَ
Transliteration 49: Fama lahum AAani alttathkirati muAArideena
Yusuf Ali 49: Then what is the matter with them that they turn away from admonition?-
Mohsin Khan: 49: Then what is wrong with them (i.e. the polytheists, the disbelievers) that they turn away from (receiving) admonition?
Saheeh: 49: Then what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away
Urdu 49: پسانہیں کیا ہو گیا کہ وہ نصیحت سے منہ موڑرہے ہیں


50  
كَأَنَّهُمْ حُمُرٌ مُّسْتَنفِرَةٌ
Transliteration 50: Kaannahum humurun mustanfiratun
Yusuf Ali 50: As if they were affrighted asses,
Mohsin Khan: 50: As if they were (frightened) wild donkeys.
Saheeh: 50: As if they were alarmed donkeys
Urdu 50: گویا کہ وہ بدکنے والے گدھے ہیں


51  
فَرَّتْ مِن قَسْوَرَةٍ
Transliteration 51: Farrat min qaswaratin
Yusuf Ali 51: Fleeing from a lion!
Mohsin Khan: 51: Fleeing from a hunter, or a lion, or a beast of prey.
Saheeh: 51: Fleeing from a lion?
Urdu 51: جو شیر سے بھاگے ہیں


52  
بَلْ يُرِيدُ كُلُّ امْرِئٍ مِّنْهُمْ أَن يُؤْتَىٰ صُحُفًا مُّنَشَّرَةً
Transliteration 52: Bal yureedu kullu imriin minhum an yuta suhufan munashsharatan
Yusuf Ali 52: Forsooth, each one of them wants to be given scrolls (of revelation) spread out!
Mohsin Khan: 52: Nay, everyone of them desires that he should be given pages spread out (coming from Allah with a writing that Islam is the right religion, and Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم has come with the truth from Allah, the Lord of the heavens and earth).
Saheeh: 52: Rather, every person among them desires that he would be given scriptures spread about.
Urdu 52: بلکہ ہر ایک آدمی ان میں سے چاہتا ہے کہ اسے کھلے ہوئے صحیفے دیئے جائیں


53  
كَلَّا ۖ بَل لَّا يَخَافُونَ الْآخِرَةَ
Transliteration 53: Kalla bal la yakhafoona alakhirata
Yusuf Ali 53: By no means! But they fear not the Hereafter,
Mohsin Khan: 53: Nay! But they fear not the Hereafter (from Allah's punishment).
Saheeh: 53: No! But they do not fear the Hereafter.
Urdu 53: ہرگز نہیں بلکہ وہ آخرت سے نہیں ڈرتے


54  
كَلَّا إِنَّهُ تَذْكِرَةٌ
Transliteration 54: Kalla innahu tathkiratun
Yusuf Ali 54: Nay, this surely is an admonition:
Mohsin Khan: 54: Nay, verily, this (Qur'an) is an admonition,
Saheeh: 54: No! Indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder
Urdu 54: ہرگز نہیں بے شک یہ (قرآن) ایک نصیحت ہے


55  
فَمَن شَاءَ ذَكَرَهُ
Transliteration 55: Faman shaa thakarahu
Yusuf Ali 55: Let any who will, keep it in remembrance!
Mohsin Khan: 55: So whosoever will (let him read it), and receive admonition (from it)!
Saheeh: 55: Then whoever wills will remember it.
Urdu 55: (پس جو چاہے اس کو یاد کر لے


56  
وَمَا يَذْكُرُونَ إِلَّا أَن يَشَاءَ اللَّهُ ۚ هُوَ أَهْلُ التَّقْوَىٰ وَأَهْلُ الْمَغْفِرَةِ
Transliteration 56: Wama yathkuroona illa an yashaa Allahu huwa ahlu alttaqwa waahlu almaghfirati
Yusuf Ali 56: But none will keep it in remembrance except as Allah wills: He is the Lord of Righteousness, and the Lord of Forgiveness.
Mohsin Khan: 56: And they will not receive admonition unless Allah wills; He (Allah) is the One, deserving that mankind should be afraid of, and should be dutiful to Him, and should not take any Ilah (god) along with Him, and He is the One Who forgives (sins).
Saheeh: 56: And they will not remember except that Allah wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for [granting] forgiveness.
Urdu 56: اور کوئی بھی یاد نہیں کر سکتا مگر جبکہ الله ہی چاہے وہی جس سے ڈرنا چاہیے اوروہی بخشنے والا ہے
