| 12. | إِذْ يُوحِي رَبُّكَ إِلَى الْمَلَائِكَةِ أَنِّي مَعَكُمْ فَثَبِّتُوا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا ۚ سَأُلْقِي فِي قُلُوبِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا الرُّعْبَ فَاضْرِبُوا فَوْقَ الْأَعْنَاقِ وَاضْرِبُوا مِنْهُمْ كُلَّ بَنَانٍ |
| Transliteration: | Ith yoohee rabbuka ila almalaikati annee maAAakum fathabbitoo allatheena amanoo saolqee fee quloobi allatheena kafaroo alrruAAba faidriboo fawqa alaAAnaqi waidriboo minhum kulla bananin |
| Yusuf Ali: | Remember thy Lord inspired the angels (with the message): "I am with you: give firmness to the Believers: I will instil terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers: smite ye above their necks and smite all their finger-tips off them." |
| Shakir: | When your Lord revealed to the angels: I am with you, therefore make firm those who believe. I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them. |
| Urdu: | جب تیرے رب نے فرشتوں کو حکم بھیجا کہ میں تمہارے ساتھ ہوں تم مسلمانوں کے دل ثابت رکھو میں کافروں کے دلوں میں دہشت ڈال دوں گا سو گردنوں پر مارواور ان کے پور پور پر مارو |

| 13. | ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ شَاقُّوا اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ ۚ وَمَن يُشَاقِقِ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ شَدِيدُ الْعِقَابِ |
| Transliteration: | Thalika biannahum shaqqoo Allaha warasoolahu waman yushaqiqi Allaha warasoolahu fainna Allaha shadeedu alAAiqabi |
| Yusuf Ali: | This because they contended against Allah and His Messenger: If any contend against Allah and His Messenger, Allah is strict in punishment. |
| Shakir: | This is because they acted adversely to Allah and His Apostle; and whoever acts adversely to Allah and His Apostle-- then surely Allah is severe in requiting (evil). |
| Urdu: | یہ اس لیے ہے کہ وہ الله اوراس کے رسول کے مخالف ہیں اور جو کوئی اللہ اور اس کےرسول کا مخالف ہو تو بے شک الله سخت عذب دینے والا ہے |

| 14. | ذَٰلِكُمْ فَذُوقُوهُ وَأَنَّ لِلْكَافِرِينَ عَذَابَ النَّارِ |
| Transliteration: | Thalikum fathooqoohu waanna lilkafireena AAathaba alnnari |
| Yusuf Ali: | Thus (will it be said): "Taste ye then of the (punishment): for those who resist Allah, is the penalty of the Fire." |
| Shakir: | This-- taste it, and (know) that for the unbelievers is the chastisement of fire. |
| Urdu: | یہ تو چکھ لو اور جان لو کہ بے شک کافروں کے لیے دوزخ کا عذاب ہے |
