1  
إِذَا السَّمَاءُ انشَقَّتْ
Transliteration 1: Itha alssamao inshaqqat
Yusuf Ali 1: When the sky is rent asunder,
Mohsin Khan: 1: When the heaven is split asunder,
Saheeh: 1: When the sky has split [open]
Urdu 1: جب آسمان پھٹ جائے گا


2  
وَأَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتْ
Transliteration 2: Waathinat lirabbiha wahuqqat
Yusuf Ali 2: And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord, and it must needs (do so);-
Mohsin Khan: 2: And listens to and obeys its Lord - and it must do so.
Saheeh: 2: And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so]
Urdu 2: اور اپنے رب کا حکم سن لے گا اور وہ اسی لائق ہے


3  
وَإِذَا الْأَرْضُ مُدَّتْ
Transliteration 3: Waitha alardu muddat
Yusuf Ali 3: And when the earth is flattened out,
Mohsin Khan: 3: And when the earth is stretched forth,
Saheeh: 3: And when the earth has been extended
Urdu 3: اور جب زمین پھیلا دی جائے گی


4  
وَأَلْقَتْ مَا فِيهَا وَتَخَلَّتْ
Transliteration 4: Waalqat ma feeha watakhallat
Yusuf Ali 4: And casts forth what is within it and becomes (clean) empty,
Mohsin Khan: 4: And has cast out all that was in it and became empty.
Saheeh: 4: And has cast out that within it and relinquished [it]
Urdu 4: اور جو کچھ اس میں ہے ڈال دے گی اور خالی ہو جائے گی


5  
وَأَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتْ
Transliteration 5: Waathinat lirabbiha wahuqqat
Yusuf Ali 5: And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord,- and it must needs (do so);- (then will come Home the full reality).
Mohsin Khan: 5: And listens to and obeys its Lord - and it must do so.
Saheeh: 5: And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] -
Urdu 5: اور اپنے رب کا حکم سن لے گی اور وہ اسی لائق ہے


6  
يَا أَيُّهَا الْإِنسَانُ إِنَّكَ كَادِحٌ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ كَدْحًا فَمُلَاقِيهِ
Transliteration 6: Ya ayyuha alinsanu innaka kadihun ila rabbika kadhan famulaqeehi
Yusuf Ali 6: O thou man! Verily thou art ever toiling on towards thy Lord- painfully toiling,- but thou shalt meet Him.
Mohsin Khan: 6: O man! Verily, you are returning towards your Lord with your deeds and actions (good or bad), a sure returning, and you will meet (the results of your deeds which you did).
Saheeh: 6: O mankind, indeed you are laboring toward your Lord with [great] exertion and will meet it.
Urdu 6: اے انسان تو اپنے رب کے پاس پہنچنے تک کام میں کوشش کر رہا ہے پھر اس سے جا ملے گا


7  
فَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِيَ كِتَابَهُ بِيَمِينِهِ
Transliteration 7: Faama man ootiya kitabahu biyameenihi
Yusuf Ali 7: Then he who is given his Record in his right hand,
Mohsin Khan: 7: Then as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand,
Saheeh: 7: Then as for he who is given his record in his right hand,
Urdu 7: پھر جس کا اعمال نامہ اس کے دائیں ہاتھ میں دیا گیا


8  
فَسَوْفَ يُحَاسَبُ حِسَابًا يَسِيرًا
Transliteration 8: Fasawfa yuhasabu hisaban yaseeran
Yusuf Ali 8: Soon will his account be taken by an easy reckoning,
Mohsin Khan: 8: He surely will receive an easy reckoning,
Saheeh: 8: He will be judged with an easy account
Urdu 8: تو اس سے آسانی کے ساتھ حساب لیا جائے گا


9  
وَيَنقَلِبُ إِلَىٰ أَهْلِهِ مَسْرُورًا
Transliteration 9: Wayanqalibu ila ahlihi masrooran
Yusuf Ali 9: And he will turn to his people, rejoicing!
Mohsin Khan: 9: And will return to his family in joy!
Saheeh: 9: And return to his people in happiness.
Urdu 9: اور وہ اپنے اہل و عیال میں خوش واپس آئے گا


10  
وَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِيَ كِتَابَهُ وَرَاءَ ظَهْرِهِ
Transliteration 10: Waamma man ootiya kitabahu waraa thahrihi
Yusuf Ali 10: But he who is given his Record behind his back,-
Mohsin Khan: 10: But whosoever is given his Record behind his back,
Saheeh: 10: But as for he who is given his record behind his back,
Urdu 10: اور لیکن جس کو نامہٴ اعمال پیٹھ پیچھے سے دیا گیا


11  
فَسَوْفَ يَدْعُو ثُبُورًا
Transliteration 11: Fasawfa yadAAoo thubooran
Yusuf Ali 11: Soon will he cry for perdition,
Mohsin Khan: 11: He will invoke (for his) destruction,
Saheeh: 11: He will cry out for destruction
Urdu 11: تو وہ موت کو پکارے گا


12  
وَيَصْلَىٰ سَعِيرًا
Transliteration 12: Wayasla saAAeeran
Yusuf Ali 12: And he will enter a Blazing Fire.
Mohsin Khan: 12: And he shall enter a blazing Fire, and be made to taste its burning.
Saheeh: 12: And [enter to] burn in a Blaze.
Urdu 12: اور دوزخ میں داخل ہوگا


13  
إِنَّهُ كَانَ فِي أَهْلِهِ مَسْرُورًا
Transliteration 13: Innahu kana fee ahlihi masrooran
Yusuf Ali 13: Truly, did he go about among his people, rejoicing!
Mohsin Khan: 13: Verily, he was among his people in joy!
Saheeh: 13: Indeed, he had [once] been among his people in happiness;
Urdu 13: بے شک وہ اپنے اہل و عیال میں بڑا خوش و خرم تھا


14  
إِنَّهُ ظَنَّ أَن لَّن يَحُورَ
Transliteration 14: Innahu thanna an lan yahoora
Yusuf Ali 14: Truly, did he think that he would not have to return (to Us)!
Mohsin Khan: 14: Verily, he thought that he would never come back (to Us)!
Saheeh: 14: Indeed, he had thought he would never return [to Allah].
Urdu 14: بے شک اس نے سمجھ لیا تھا کہ ہر گز نہ لوٹ کر جائے گا


15  
بَلَىٰ إِنَّ رَبَّهُ كَانَ بِهِ بَصِيرًا
Transliteration 15: Bala inna rabbahu kana bihi baseeran
Yusuf Ali 15: Nay, nay! for his Lord was (ever) watchful of him!
Mohsin Khan: 15: Yes! Verily, his Lord has been ever beholding him!
Saheeh: 15: But yes! Indeed, his Lord was ever of him, Seeing.
Urdu 15: کیوں نہیں بے شک اس کا رب تو اس کو دیکھ رہا تھا


16  
فَلَا أُقْسِمُ بِالشَّفَقِ
Transliteration 16: Fala oqsimu bialshshafaqi
Yusuf Ali 16: So I do call to witness the ruddy glow of Sunset;
Mohsin Khan: 16: So I swear by the afterglow of sunset;
Saheeh: 16: So I swear by the twilight glow
Urdu 16: پس شام کی سرخی کی قسم ہے


17  
وَاللَّيْلِ وَمَا وَسَقَ
Transliteration 17: Waallayli wama wasaqa
Yusuf Ali 17: The Night and its Homing;
Mohsin Khan: 17: And by the night and whatever it gathers in its darkness,
Saheeh: 17: And [by] the night and what it envelops
Urdu 17: اور رات کی اور جو کچھ اس نے سمیٹا


18  
وَالْقَمَرِ إِذَا اتَّسَقَ
Transliteration 18: Waalqamari itha ittasaqa
Yusuf Ali 18: And the Moon in her fullness:
Mohsin Khan: 18: And by the moon when it is at the full.
Saheeh: 18: And [by] the moon when it becomes full
Urdu 18: اور چاند کی جب کہ وہ پورا ہوجائے


19  
لَتَرْكَبُنَّ طَبَقًا عَن طَبَقٍ
Transliteration 19: Latarkabunna tabaqan AAan tabaqin
Yusuf Ali 19: Ye shall surely travel from stage to stage.
Mohsin Khan: 19: You shall certainly travel from stage to stage (in this life and in the Hereafter).
Saheeh: 19: [That] you will surely experience state after state.
Urdu 19: کہ تمہیں ایک منزل سے دوسری منزل پر چڑھنا ہوگا


20  
فَمَا لَهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ
Transliteration 20: Fama lahum la yuminoona
Yusuf Ali 20: What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?-
Mohsin Khan: 20: What is the matter with them, that they believe not?
Saheeh: 20: So what is [the matter] with them [that] they do not believe,
Urdu 20: پھر انہیں کیا ہو گیا کہ ایمان نہیں لاتے


21  
وَإِذَا قُرِئَ عَلَيْهِمُ الْقُرْآنُ لَا يَسْجُدُونَ ۩
Transliteration 21: Waitha quria AAalayhimu alquranu la yasjudoona
Yusuf Ali 21: And when the Qur'an is read to them, they fall not prostrate,
Mohsin Khan: 21: And when the Qur'an is recited to them, they fall not prostrate.
Saheeh: 21: And when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate [to Allah]?
Urdu 21: اور جب ان پر قرآن پڑھا جائے تو سجدہ نہیں کرتے


22  
بَلِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا يُكَذِّبُونَ
Transliteration 22: Bali allatheena kafaroo yukaththiboona
Yusuf Ali 22: But on the contrary the Unbelievers reject (it).
Mohsin Khan: 22: Nay, those who disbelieve belie (Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم and whatever he brought, i.e. this Qur'an and Islamic Monotheism, etc.).
Saheeh: 22: But those who have disbelieved deny,
Urdu 22: بلکہ جو لوگ منکر ہیں جھٹلاتے ہیں


23  
وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يُوعُونَ
Transliteration 23: WaAllahu aAAlamu bima yooAAoona
Yusuf Ali 23: But Allah has full knowledge of what they secrete (in their breasts)
Mohsin Khan: 23: And Allah knows best what they gather (of good and bad deeds),
Saheeh: 23: And Allah is most knowing of what they keep within themselves.
Urdu 23: اور الله خوب جانتا ہے وہ جو (دل میں) محفوظ رکھتے ہیں


24  
فَبَشِّرْهُم بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ
Transliteration 24: Fabashshirhum biAAathabin aleemin
Yusuf Ali 24: So announce to them a Penalty Grievous,
Mohsin Khan: 24: So announce to them a painful torment.
Saheeh: 24: So give them tidings of a painful punishment,
Urdu 24: پس انہیں دردناک عذاب کی خوشخبری دے دو


25  
إِلَّا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَهُمْ أَجْرٌ غَيْرُ مَمْنُونٍ
Transliteration 25: Illa allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati lahum ajrun ghayru mamnoonin
Yusuf Ali 25: Except to those who believe and work righteous deeds: For them is a Reward that will never fail.
Mohsin Khan: 25: Save those who believe and do righteous good deeds, for them is a reward that will never come to an end (i.e. Paradise).
Saheeh: 25: Except for those who believe and do righteous deeds. For them is a reward uninterrupted.
Urdu 25: مگر جو لوگ ایمان لائے اورانہوں نے نیک عمل کیے ان کے لیے بے انتہا اجر ہے
