| 50. | وَإِلَىٰ عَادٍ أَخَاهُمْ هُودًا ۚ قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ اعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَـٰهٍ غَيْرُهُ ۖ إِنْ أَنتُمْ إِلَّا مُفْتَرُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Waila AAadin akhahum hoodan qala ya qawmi oAAbudoo Allaha ma lakum min ilahin ghayruhu in antum illa muftaroona |
| Yusuf Ali: | To the 'Ad People (We sent) Hud, one of their own brethren. He said: "O my people! worship Allah! ye have no other god but Him. (Your other gods) ye do nothing but invent! |
| Shakir: | And to Ad (We sent) their brother Hud. He said: O my people! serve Allah, you have no god other than He; you are nothing but forgers (of lies). |
| Pickthall: | And unto (the tribe of) A'ad (We sent) their brother, Hud. He said: O my people! Serve Allah! Ye have no other Allah save Him. Lo! ye do but invent. |
| Mohsin Khan: | And to 'Ad (people We sent) their brother Hud. He said, "O my people! Worship Allah! You have no other ilah (god) but Him. Certainly, you do nothing but invent lies! |
| Saheeh: | And to 'Aad [We sent] their brother Hud. He said, "O my people, worship Allah; you have no deity other than Him. You are not but inventors [of falsehood]. |
| Urdu: | اور ہم نے عاد کی طرف ان کے بھائی ہود کو بھیجا اے قوم الله کی بندگی کرو اس کے سوا تمہارا کوئی حاکم نہیں تم سب جھوٹ کہتے ہو |

| 51. | يَا قَوْمِ لَا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ أَجْرًا ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِيَ إِلَّا عَلَى الَّذِي فَطَرَنِي ۚ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Ya qawmi la asalukum AAalayhi ajran in ajriya illa AAala allathee fataranee afala taAAqiloona |
| Yusuf Ali: | "O my people! I ask of you no reward for this (Message). My reward is from none but Him who created me: Will ye not then understand? |
| Shakir: | O my people! I do not ask of you any reward for it; my reward is only with Him Who created me; do you not then understand? |
| Pickthall: | O my people! I ask of you no reward for it. Lo! my reward is the concern only of Him Who made me. Have ye then no sense? |
| Mohsin Khan: | "O my people I ask of you no reward for it (the Message). My reward is only from Him Who created me. Will you not then understand? |
| Saheeh: | O my people, I do not ask you for it any reward. My reward is only from the one who created me. Then will you not reason? |
| Urdu: | اے قوم میں اس پر تم سے مزدوری نہیں مانگتا میری مزدوری اسی پر ہے جس نے مجھے پیدا کیا پھر کیا تم نہیں سمجھتے |

| 52. | وَيَا قَوْمِ اسْتَغْفِرُوا رَبَّكُمْ ثُمَّ تُوبُوا إِلَيْهِ يُرْسِلِ السَّمَاءَ عَلَيْكُم مِّدْرَارًا وَيَزِدْكُمْ قُوَّةً إِلَىٰ قُوَّتِكُمْ وَلَا تَتَوَلَّوْا مُجْرِمِينَ |
| Transliteration: | Waya qawmi istaghfiroo rabbakum thumma tooboo ilayhi yursili alssamaa AAalaykum midraran wayazidkum quwwatan ila quwwatikum wala tatawallaw mujrimeena |
| Yusuf Ali: | "And O my people! Ask forgiveness of your Lord, and turn to Him (in repentance): He will send you the skies pouring abundant rain, and add strength to your strength: so turn ye not back in sin!" |
| Shakir: | And, O my people! ask forgiveness of your Lord, then turn to Him; He will send on you clouds pouring down abundance of rain and add strength to your strength, and do not turn back guilty. |
| Pickthall: | And, O my people! Ask forgiveness of your Lord, then turn unto Him repentant; He will cause the sky to rain abundance on you and will add unto you strength to your strength. Turn not away, guilty! |
| Mohsin Khan: | "And O my people! Ask forgiveness of your Lord and then repent to Him, He will send you (from the sky) abundant rain, and add strength to your strength, so do not turn away as Mujrimun (criminals, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah)." |
| Saheeh: | And O my people, ask forgiveness of your Lord and then repent to Him. He will send [rain from] the sky upon you in showers and increase you in strength [added] to your strength. And do not turn away, [being] criminals." |
| Urdu: | اور اے قوم اپنے رب سے معافی مانگو پھر اس کی طرف رجوع کرو وہ تم پر خوب بارشیں برسائے گا اور تمہاری قوت کو اوربڑھائے گا اورتم نافرمان ہو کر نہ پھر جاؤ |

| 53. | قَالُوا يَا هُودُ مَا جِئْتَنَا بِبَيِّنَةٍ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِتَارِكِي آلِهَتِنَا عَن قَوْلِكَ وَمَا نَحْنُ لَكَ بِمُؤْمِنِينَ |
| Transliteration: | Qaloo ya hoodu ma jitana bibayyinatin wama nahnu bitarikee alihatina AAan qawlika wama nahnu laka bimumineena |
| Yusuf Ali: | They said: "O Hud! No Clear (Sign) that hast thou brought us, and we are not the ones to desert our gods on thy word! Nor shall we believe in thee! |
| Shakir: | They said: O Hud! you have not brought to us any clear argument and we are not going to desert our gods for your word, and we are not believers in you: |
| Pickthall: | They said: O Hud! Thou hast brought us no clear proof and we are not going to forsake our gods on thy (mere) saying, and we are not believers in thee. |
| Mohsin Khan: | They said: "O Hud! No evidence have you brought us, and we shall not leave our gods for your (mere) saying! And we are not believers in you. |
| Saheeh: | They said, "O Hud, you have not brought us clear evidence, and we are not ones to leave our gods on your say-so. Nor are we believers in you. |
| Urdu: | کہا اے ہود تو ہمارے پاس کوئی معجزہ بھی نہ لایا اور ہم تیرے کہنے سے اپنے معبودوں کو چھوڑنے والے نہیں اورنہ ہم تجھے ماننے والے ہیں |

| 54. | إِن نَّقُولُ إِلَّا اعْتَرَاكَ بَعْضُ آلِهَتِنَا بِسُوءٍ ۗ قَالَ إِنِّي أُشْهِدُ اللَّهَ وَاشْهَدُوا أَنِّي بَرِيءٌ مِّمَّا تُشْرِكُونَ |
| Transliteration: | In naqoolu illa iAAtaraka baAAdu alihatina bisooin qala innee oshhidu Allaha waishhadoo annee bareeon mimma tushrikoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | "We say nothing but that (perhaps) some of our gods may have seized thee with imbecility." He said: "I call Allah to witness, and do ye bear witness, that I am free from the sin of ascribing, to Him, |
| Shakir: | We cannot say aught but that some of our gods have smitten you with evil. He said: Surely I call Allah to witness, and do you bear witness too, that I am clear of what you associate (with Allah). |
| Pickthall: | We say naught save that one of our gods hath possessed thee in an evil way. He said: I call Allah to witness, and do ye (too) bear witness, that I am innocent of (all) that ye ascribe as partners (to Allah) |
| Mohsin Khan: | "All that we say is that some of our gods (false deities) have seized you with evil (madness)." He said: "I call Allah to witness and bear you witness that I am free from that which you ascribe as partners in worship, |
| Saheeh: | We only say that some of our gods have possessed you with evil." He said, "Indeed, I call Allah to witness, and witness [yourselves] that I am free from whatever you associate with Allah |
| Urdu: | ہم تو یہی کہتے ہیں کہ تجھےہمارے کسی معبود نے بری طرح جھپٹ لیا ہے کہا بے شک میں الله کو گواہ کرتا ہوں اورتم بھی گواہ رہو کہ میں ان چیزوں سے بیزار ہوں جنہیں تم الله کے سوا شریک کرتے ہو |

| 55. | مِن دُونِهِ ۖ فَكِيدُونِي جَمِيعًا ثُمَّ لَا تُنظِرُونِ |
| Transliteration: | Min doonihi fakeedoonee jameeAAan thumma la tunthirooni |
| Yusuf Ali: | "Other gods as partners! so scheme (your worst) against me, all of you, and give me no respite. |
| Shakir: | Besides Him, therefore scheme against me all together; then give me no respite: |
| Pickthall: | Beside Him. So (try to) circumvent me, all of you, give me no respite. |
| Mohsin Khan: | With Him (Allah). So plot against me, all of you, and give me no respite. |
| Saheeh: | Other than Him. So plot against me all together; then do not give me respite. |
| Urdu: | سوتم سب مل کر میرے حق میں برائی کرو پھر مجھے مہلت نہ دو |

| 56. | إِنِّي تَوَكَّلْتُ عَلَى اللَّهِ رَبِّي وَرَبِّكُم ۚ مَّا مِن دَابَّةٍ إِلَّا هُوَ آخِذٌ بِنَاصِيَتِهَا ۚ إِنَّ رَبِّي عَلَىٰ صِرَاطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ |
| Transliteration: | Innee tawakkaltu AAala Allahi rabbee warabbikum ma min dabbatin illa huwa akhithun binasiyatiha inna rabbee AAala siratin mustaqeemin |
| Yusuf Ali: | "I put my trust in Allah, My Lord and your Lord! There is not a moving creature, but He hath grasp of its fore-lock. Verily, it is my Lord that is on a straight Path. |
| Shakir: | Surely I rely on Allah, my Lord and your Lord; there is no living creature but He holds it by its forelock; surely my Lord is on the right path. |
| Pickthall: | Lo! I have put my trust in Allah, my Lord and your Lord. Not an animal but He doth grasp it by the forelock! Lo! my Lord is on a straight path. |
| Mohsin Khan: | "I put my trust in Allah, my Lord and your Lord! There is not a moving (living) creature but He has the grasp of its forelock. Verily, my Lord is on the Straight Path (the truth). |
| Saheeh: | Indeed, I have relied upon Allah, my Lord and your Lord. There is no creature but that He holds its forelock. Indeed, my Lord is on a path [that is] straight." |
| Urdu: | میں نے الله پر بھروسہ کیا ہے جو میرا اور تمہارا رب ہے کوئی بھی زمین پر ایسا چلنے والا نہیں کہ جس کی چوٹی اس نے نہ پکڑ رکھی ہو بے شک میرا رب سیدھے راستے پر ہے |

| 57. | فَإِن تَوَلَّوْا فَقَدْ أَبْلَغْتُكُم مَّا أُرْسِلْتُ بِهِ إِلَيْكُمْ ۚ وَيَسْتَخْلِفُ رَبِّي قَوْمًا غَيْرَكُمْ وَلَا تَضُرُّونَهُ شَيْئًا ۚ إِنَّ رَبِّي عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ حَفِيظٌ |
| Transliteration: | Fain tawallaw faqad ablaghtukum ma orsiltu bihi ilaykum wayastakhlifu rabbee qawman ghayrakum wala tadurroonahu shayan inna rabbee AAala kulli shayin hafeethun |
| Yusuf Ali: | "If ye turn away,- I (at least) have conveyed the Message with which I was sent to you. My Lord will make another people to succeed you, and you will not harm Him in the least. For my Lord hath care and watch over all things." |
| Shakir: | But if you turn back, then indeed I have delivered to you the message with which I have been sent to you, and my Lord will bring another people in your place, and you cannot do Him any harm; surely my Lord is the Preserver of all things. |
| Pickthall: | And if ye turn away, still I have conveyed unto you that wherewith I was sent unto you, and my Lord will set in place of you a folk other than you. Ye cannot injure Him at all. Lo! my Lord is Guardian over all things. |
| Mohsin Khan: | "So if you turn away, still I have conveyed the Message with which I was sent to you. My Lord will make another people succeed you, and you will not harm Him in the least. Surely, my Lord is Guardian over all things." |
| Saheeh: | But if they turn away, [say], "I have already conveyed that with which I was sent to you. My Lord will give succession to a people other than you, and you will not harm Him at all. Indeed my Lord is, over all things, Guardian." |
| Urdu: | پھر اگر تم منہ پھیرو گے تو جو مجھے دے کر بھیجا گیا تھا وہ تمہیں پہنچا دیا اور میرا رب تمہاری جگہ اور قوم پیدا کر دے گا اور تم اس کا کچھ بھی بگاڑنہیں سکو گے بے شک میرا رب ہر چیزپر نگہبان ہے |

| 58. | وَلَمَّا جَاءَ أَمْرُنَا نَجَّيْنَا هُودًا وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مَعَهُ بِرَحْمَةٍ مِّنَّا وَنَجَّيْنَاهُم مِّنْ عَذَابٍ غَلِيظٍ |
| Transliteration: | Walamma jaa amruna najjayna hoodan waallatheena amanoo maAAahu birahmatin minna wanajjaynahum min AAathabin ghaleethin |
| Yusuf Ali: | So when Our decree issued, We saved Hud and those who believed with him, by (special) Grace from Ourselves: We saved them from a severe penalty. |
| Shakir: | And when Our decree came to pass, We delivered Hud and those who believed with him with mercy from Us, and We delivered them from a hard chastisement. |
| Pickthall: | And when Our commandment came to pass We saved Hud and those who believed with him by a mercy from Us; We saved them from a harsh doom. |
| Mohsin Khan: | And when Our Commandment came, We saved Hud and those who believed with him by a Mercy from Us, and We saved them from a severe torment. |
| Saheeh: | And when Our command came, We saved Hud and those who believed with him, by mercy from Us; and We saved them from a harsh punishment. |
| Urdu: | اور جب ہمارا حکم پہنچا تو ہم نے ہود کو اورانہیں جو اس کے ساتھ ایمان لائے تھے اپنی رحمت سے بچا لیا اور ہم نے انہیں سخت عذاب سے نجات دی |

| 59. | وَتِلْكَ عَادٌ ۖ جَحَدُوا بِآيَاتِ رَبِّهِمْ وَعَصَوْا رُسُلَهُ وَاتَّبَعُوا أَمْرَ كُلِّ جَبَّارٍ عَنِيدٍ |
| Transliteration: | Watilka AAadun jahadoo biayati rabbihim waAAasaw rusulahu waittabaAAoo amra kulli jabbarin AAaneedin |
| Yusuf Ali: | Such were the 'Ad People: they rejected the Signs of their Lord and Cherisher; disobeyed His messengers; And followed the command of every powerful, obstinate transgressor. |
| Shakir: | And this was Ad; they denied the communications of their Lord, and disobeyed His apostles and followed the bidding of every insolent opposer (of truth). |
| Pickthall: | And such were A'ad. They denied the revelations of their Lord and flouted His messengers and followed the command of every froward potentate. |
| Mohsin Khan: | Such were 'Ad (people). They rejected the Ayat (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of their Lord and disobeyed His Messengers, and followed the command of every proud obstinate (oppressor of the truth, from their leaders). |
| Saheeh: | And that was 'Aad, who rejected the signs of their Lord and disobeyed His messengers and followed the order of every obstinate tyrant. |
| Urdu: | اور یہ عاد تھے کہ اپنے رب کی باتوں سے منکر ہوئے اوراس کے رسولوں کو نہ مانا اور ہر ایک جبار سرکش کا حکم مانتے تھے |

| 60. | وَأُتْبِعُوا فِي هَـٰذِهِ الدُّنْيَا لَعْنَةً وَيَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ۗ أَلَا إِنَّ عَادًا كَفَرُوا رَبَّهُمْ ۗ أَلَا بُعْدًا لِّعَادٍ قَوْمِ هُودٍ |
| Transliteration: | WaotbiAAoo fee hathihi alddunya laAAnatan wayawma alqiyamati ala inna AAadan kafaroo rabbahum ala buAAdan liAAadin qawmi hoodin |
| Yusuf Ali: | And they were pursued by a Curse in this life,- and on the Day of Judgment. Ah! Behold! for the 'Ad rejected their Lord and Cherisher! Ah! Behold! removed (from sight) were 'Ad the people of Hud! |
| Shakir: | And they were overtaken by curse in this world and on the resurrection day; now surely Ad disbelieved in their Lord; now surely, away with Ad, the people of Hud. |
| Pickthall: | And a curse was made to follow them in the world and on the Day of Resurrection. Lo! A'ad disbelieved in their Lord. A far removal for A'ad, the folk of Hud! |
| Mohsin Khan: | And they were pursued by a curse in this world and (so they will be) on the Day of Resurrection. No doubt! Verily, 'Ad disbelieved in their Lord. So away with 'Ad, the people of Hud. |
| Saheeh: | And they were [therefore] followed in this world with a curse and [as well] on the Day of Resurrection. Unquestionably, 'Aad denied their Lord; then away with 'Aad, the people of Hud. |
| Urdu: | اور اس دنیا میں بھی اپنے پیچھے لعنت چھوڑ گئے اور قیامت کے دن بھی خبردار بےشک عاد نے اپنے رب کا انکار کیا تھا خبردار عاد جو ہود کی قوم تھی الله کی رحمت سے دور کی گئی |
