| 16. | وَلَقَدْ آتَيْنَا بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ الْكِتَابَ وَالْحُكْمَ وَالنُّبُوَّةَ وَرَزَقْنَاهُم مِّنَ الطَّيِّبَاتِ وَفَضَّلْنَاهُمْ عَلَى الْعَالَمِينَ |
| Transliteration: | Walaqad atayna banee israeela alkitaba waalhukma waalnnubuwwata warazaqnahum mina alttayyibati wafaddalnahum AAala alAAalameena |
| Yusuf Ali: | We did aforetime grant to the Children of Israel the Book the Power of Command, and Prophethood; We gave them, for Sustenance, things good and pure; and We favoured them above the nations. |
| Shakir: | And certainly We gave the Book and the wisdom and the prophecy to the children of Israel, and We gave them of the goodly things, and We made them excel the nations. |
| Pickthall: | And verily we gave the Children of Israel the Scripture and the Command and the Prophethood, and provided them with good things and favoured them above (all) peoples; |
| Mohsin Khan: | And indeed We gave the Children of Israel the Scripture, and the understanding of the Scripture and its laws, and the Prophethood; and provided them with good things, and preferred them above the 'Alamin (mankind and jinn of their time, during that period), |
| Saheeh: | And We did certainly give the Children of Israel the Scripture and judgement and prophethood, and We provided them with good things and preferred them over the worlds. |
| Urdu: | اور بے شک ہم نے بنی اسرائیل کو کتاب اورحکومت اور نبوت دی تھی اور ہم نے پاکیزہ چیزوں سے روزی دی اور ہم نے انہیں جہان والوں پر بزرگی دی |
