160 | وَقَطَّعْنَاهُمُ اثْنَتَيْ عَشْرَةَ أَسْبَاطًا أُمَمًا ۚ وَأَوْحَيْنَا إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰ إِذِ اسْتَسْقَاهُ قَوْمُهُ أَنِ اضْرِب بِّعَصَاكَ الْحَجَرَ ۖ فَانبَجَسَتْ مِنْهُ اثْنَتَا عَشْرَةَ عَيْنًا ۖ قَدْ عَلِمَ كُلُّ أُنَاسٍ مَّشْرَبَهُمْ ۚ وَظَلَّلْنَا عَلَيْهِمُ الْغَمَامَ وَأَنزَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمُ الْمَنَّ وَالسَّلْوَىٰ ۖ كُلُوا مِن طَيِّبَاتِ مَا رَزَقْنَاكُمْ ۚ وَمَا ظَلَمُونَا وَلَـٰكِن كَانُوا أَنفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ |
| | | | Transliteration 160: | WaqattaAAnahumu ithnatay AAashrata asbatan omaman waawhayna ila moosa ithi istasqahu qawmuhu ani idrib biAAasaka alhajara fainbajasat minhu ithnata AAashrata AAaynan qad AAalima kullu onasin mashrabahum wathallalna AAalayhimu alghamama waanzalna AAalayhimu almanna waalssalwa kuloo min tayyibati ma razaqnakum wama thalamoona walakin kanoo anfusahum yathlimoona |
| | | | Yusuf Ali 160: | We divided them into twelve tribes or nations. We directed Moses by inspiration, when his (thirsty) people asked him for water: "Strike the rock with thy staff": out of it there gushed forth twelve springs: Each group knew its own place for water. We gave them the shade of clouds, and sent down to them manna and quails, (saying): "Eat of the good things We have provided for you": (but they rebelled); to Us they did no harm, but they harmed their own souls. |
| | | | Urdu 160: | اور ہم نے انہیں جدا جدا کر دیا بارہ دادوں کی اولاد جو بڑی بڑی جماعتیں تھیں اور موسیٰ کو ہم نے حکم بھیجا جب اس کی قوم نے اس سے پانی مانگا کہ اپنی لاٹھی اس پتھر پر مار تو اس سے بارہ چشمے پھوٹ نکلے ہر قبیلہ نے اپنے گھاٹ پہچان لیا اور ہم نے ان پر ابر کا سایہ کیا اور ہم نے من و سلویٰ اتارا ہم نے جو ستھری چیزیں تمہیں دی ہیں وہ کھاؤ اور انہوں نے ہمارا کوئی نقصان نہیں کیا لیکن اپنا ہی نقصان کرتے تھے |
