(1) Show us the straight path,

(2) how disbelieve ye in Allah when ye were dead and He gave life to you! Then He will give you death, then life again, and then unto Him ye will return.

(3) And He taught Adam all the names, then showed them to the angels, saying: Inform Me of the names of these, if ye are truthful.

(4) O Children of Israel! Remember My favour wherewith I favoured you and how I preferred you to (all) creatures.

(5) And ye know of those of you who broke the Sabbath, how We said unto them: Be ye apes, despised and hated!

(6) And We said: Smite him with some of it. Thus Allah bringeth the dead to life and showeth you His portents so that ye may understand.

(7) O Children of Israel! Remember My favour wherewith I favoured you and how I preferred you to (all) creatures.

(8) Our Lord! And make us submissive unto Thee and of our seed a nation submissive unto Thee, and show us our ways of worship, and relent toward us. Lo! Thou, only Thou, art the Relenting, the Merciful.

(9) And those who were but followers will say: If a return were possible for us, we would disown them even as they have disowned us. Thus will Allah show them their own deeds as anguish for them, and they will not emerge from the Fire.

(10) Those are they who purchase error at the price of guidance, and torment at the price of pardon. how constant are they in their strife to reach the Fire!
