Such is the interpretation of that wherewith thou couldst not bear.

(42) Those whose eyes were hoodwinked from My reminder, and who could not bear to hear.

(43) And We make (this Scripture) easy in thy tongue, (O Muhammad) only that thou mayst bear good tidings therewith unto those who ward off (evil), and warn therewith the froward folk.

(44) He said: This is my staff whereon I lean, and wherewith I bear down branches for my sheep, and wherein I find other uses.

(45) He said: O son of my mother! Clutch not my beard nor my head! I feared lest thou shouldst say: Thou hast caused division among the Children of Israel, and hast not waited for my word.

(46) Whoso turneth away from it, he verily will bear a burden on the Day of Resurrection,

(47) And faces humble themselves before the Living, the Eternal. And he who beareth (a burden of) wrongdoing is indeed a failure (on that day).

(48) Therefor (O Muhammad), bear with what they say, and celebrate the praise of thy Lord ere the rising of the sun and ere the going down thereof. And glorify Him some hours of the night and at the two ends of the day, that thou mayst find acceptance.

(49) Then We heard his prayer, and bestowed upon him John, and adjusted his wife (to bear a child) for him. Lo! they used to vie one with the other in good deeds, and they cried unto Us in longing and in fear, and were submissive unto Us.

(50) And it shall avert the punishment from her if she bear witness before Allah four times that the thing he saith is indeed false,
