(1) Most surely the first house appointed for men is the one at Bekka, blessed and a guidance for the nations.

(2) And this is a Book We have revealed, blessed, verifying that which is before it, and that you may warn the metropolis and those around her; and those who believe in the hereafter believe in it, and they attend to their prayers constantly.

(3) And this is a Book We have revealed, blessed; therefore follow it and guard (against evil) that mercy may be shown to you.

(4) Surely your Lord is Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth in six periods of time, and He is firm in power; He throws the veil of night over the day, which it pursues incessantly; and (He created) the sun and the moon and the stars, made subservient by His command; surely His is the creation and the command; blessed is Allah, the Lord of the worlds.

(5) And We made the people who were deemed weak to inherit the eastern lands and the western ones which We had blessed; and the good word of your Lord was fulfilled in the children of Israel because they bore up (sufferings) patiently; and We utterly destroyed what Firon and his people had wrought and what they built.

(6) Glory be to Him Who made His servant to go on a night from the Sacred Mosque to the remote mosque of which We have blessed the precincts, so that We may show to him some of Our signs; surely He is the Hearing, the Seeing.

(7) And He has made me blessed wherever I may be, and He has enjoined on me prayer and poor-rate so long as I live;

(8) And dutiful to my mother, and He has not made me insolent, unblessed;

(9) And I will withdraw from you and what you call on besides Allah, and I will call upon my Lord; may be I shall not remain unblessed in calling upon my Lord.

(10) And We called to him from the blessed side of the mountain, and We made him draw nigh, holding communion (with Us).
