(1) And will make him a messenger unto the Children of Israel, (saying): Lo! I come unto you with a sign from your Lord. Lo! I fashion for you out of clay the likeness of a bird, and I breathe into it and it is a bird, by Allah's leave. I heal him who was born blind, and the leper, and I raise the dead, by Allah's leave. And I announce unto you what ye eat and what ye store up in your houses. Lo! herein verily is a portent for you, if ye are to be believers.

(2) And do thou (O Muhammad) remember thy Lord within thyself humbly and with awe, below thy breath, at morn and evening. And be not thou of the neglectful.

(3) When the caravan departed their father had said: Truly I am conscious of the breath of Joseph, though ye call me dotard.

(4) So, when I have made him and have breathed into him of My Spirit, do ye fall down, prostrating yourselves unto him.

(5) And if a breath of thy Lord's punishment were to touch them, they assuredly would say: Alas for us! Lo! we were wrong-doers.

(6) And she who was chaste, therefor We breathed into her (something) of Our Spirit and made her and her son a token for (all) peoples.

(7) Then He fashioned him and breathed into him of His Spirit; and appointed for you hearing and sight and hearts. Small thanks give ye!

(8) And when I have fashioned him and breathed into him of My Spirit, then fall down before him prostrate,

(9) But Allah hath been gracious unto us and hath preserved us from the torment of the breath of Fire.

(10) Then breath of life, and plenty, and a Garden of delight.
