(11) He said: "O my people! No wandering is there in my (mind): on the contrary I am a messenger from the Lord and cherisher of the worlds!

(14) (This will be) their cry therein: "Glory to Thee, O Allah!" And "Peace" will be their greeting therein! and the close of their cry will be: "Praise be to Allah, the cherisher and Sustainer of the worlds!"

(15) Such is Allah, your real cherisher and Sustainer: apart from truth, what (remains) but error? How then are ye turned away?

(16) Such were the 'Ad People: they rejected the Signs of their Lord and cherisher; disobeyed His messengers; And followed the command of every powerful, obstinate transgressor.

(17) And they were pursued by a Curse in this life,- and on the Day of Judgment. Ah! Behold! for the 'Ad rejected their Lord and cherisher! Ah! Behold! removed (from sight) were 'Ad the people of Hud!

(18) As if they had never dwelt and flourished there. Ah! Behold! for the Thamud rejected their Lord and cherisher! Ah! Behold! removed (from sight) were the Thamud!

(19) And, out of kindness, lower to them the wing of humility, and say: "My Lord! bestow on them thy Mercy even as they cherished me in childhood."

(20) So his fruits (and enjoyment) were encompassed (with ruin), and he remained twisting and turning his hands over what he had spent on his property, which had (now) tumbled to pieces to its very foundations, and he could only say, "Woe is me! Would I had never ascribed partners to my Lord and cherisher!"
