(32) Those who patiently persevere, seeking the countenance of their Lord; Establish regular prayers; spend, out of (the gifts) We have bestowed for their sustenance, secretly and openly; and turn off Evil with good: for such there is the final attainment of the (eternal) home,-

(33) Whether We shall show thee (within thy life-time) part of what we promised them or take to ourselves thy soul (before it is all accomplished),- thy duty is to make (the Message) reach them: it is our part to call them to account.

(34) See they not that We gradually reduce the land (in their control) from its outlying borders? (Where) Allah commands, there is none to put back His Command: and He is swift in calling to account.

(35) And He giveth you of all that ye ask for. But if ye count the favours of Allah, never will ye be able to number them. Verily, man is given up to injustice and ingratitude.

(36) That Allah may requite each soul according to its deserts; and verily Allah is swift in calling to account.

(37) Therefore, by the Lord, We will, of a surety, call them to account,

(38) If ye would count up the favours of Allah, never would ye be able to number them: for Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

(39) Or that He may not call them to account in the midst of their goings to and fro, without a chance of their frustrating Him?-

(40) Or that He may not call them to account by a process of slow wastage - for thy Lord is indeed full of kindness and mercy.
