(113) Then Moses went back unto his folk, angry and sad. He said: O my people! Hath not your Lord promised you a fair promise? did the time appointed then appear too long for you, or did ye wish that wrath from your Lord should come upon you, that ye broke tryst with me?

(114) He (Moses) said: O Aaron! What held thee back when thou didst see them gone astray,

(115) He will say: So (it must be). Our revelations came unto thee but thou didst forget them. In like manner thou art forgotten this Day.

(116) If We had wished to find a pastime, We could have found it in Our presence - if We ever did.

(117) And unto Lot we gave judgment and knowledge, and We delivered him from the community that did abominations. Lo! they were folk of evil, lewd.

(118) And delivered him from the people who denied Our revelations. Lo! they were folk of evil, therefor did We drown them all.

(119) And of the evil ones (subdued We unto him) some who dived (for pearls) for him and did other work, and We were warders unto them.

(120) And how many a township did I suffer long though it was sinful! Then I grasped it. Unto Me is the return.
