(53) And as for the wall, it belonged to two orphan boys in the city, and there was beneath it a treasure belonging to them, and their father was a righteous man; so your Lord desired that they should attain their maturity and take out their treasure, a mercy from your Lord, and I did not do it of my own accord. This is the significance of that with which you could not have patience.

(54) O sister of Haroun! your father was not a bad man, nor, was your mother an unchaste woman.

(55) When he said to his father; O my father! why do you worship what neither hears nor sees, nor does it avail you in the least:

(56) O my father! truly the knowledge has come to me which has not come to you, therefore follow me, I will guide you on a right path:

(57) O my father! serve not the Shaitan, surely the Shaitan is disobedient to the Beneficent Allah:

(58) O my father! surely I fear that a punishment from the Beneficent Allah should afflict you so that you should be a friend of the Shaitan.

(59) Nay, We gave provision to these and their fathers until life was prolonged to them. Do they not then see that We are visiting the land, curtailing it of its sides? Shall they then prevail?

(60) When he said to his father and his people: What are these images to whose worship you cleave?
