(21) And he (iblis - Satan) had no authority over them, - except that We might test him who believes in the Hereafter from him who is in doubt about it. And your Lord is a Hafiz (Watchful) over everything. (All-Knower of everything i.e. He keeps record of every person as regards deeds, and then He will reward them accordingly).

(22) Say (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم): "Al-Haqq (the truth i.e. the Qur'an and Allah's Revelation) has come, and Al-Batil [falsehood - iblis (Satan)] can neither create anything nor resurrect (anything)."

(23) Except iblis (Satan): he was proud and was one of the disbelievers.

(24) (Allah) said: "O iblis (Satan)! What prevents you from prostrating yourself to one whom I have created with Both My Hands . Are you too proud (to fall prostrate to Adam) or are you one of the high exalted?"

(25) [iblis (Satan)] said: "I am better than he. You created me from fire, and You created him from clay."

(26) [iblis (Satan)] said: "My Lord! Give me then respite till the Day the (dead) are resurrected."

(27) [iblis (Satan)] said: "By Your Might, then I will surely mislead them all,

(28) That I will fill Hell with you [iblis (Satan)] and those of them (mankind) that follow you, together."

(29) 'And that the foolish among us [i.e. iblis (Satan) or the polytheists amongst the jinn] used to utter against Allah that which was an enormity in falsehood.
