(2) And if We cause him to taste grace after some misfortune that had befallen him, he saith: The ills have gone from me. Lo! he is exultant, boastful;

(3) And He it is Who spread out the earth and placed therein firm hills and flowing streams, and of all fruits He placed therein two spouses (male and female). He covereth the night with the day. Lo! herein verily are portents for people who take thought.

(4) And the earth have We spread out, and placed therein firm hills, and caused each seemly thing to grow therein.

(5) And they used to hew out dwellings from the hills, (wherein they dwelt) secure.

(6) And He hath cast into the earth firm hills that it quake not with you, and streams and roads that ye may find a way.

(7) And thy Lord inspired the bee, saying: Choose thou habitations in the hills and in the trees and in that which they thatch;

(8) And walk not in the earth exultant. Lo! thou canst not rend the earth, nor canst thou stretch to the height of the hills.

(9) Yet it may be that my Lord will give me better than thy garden, and will send on it a bolt from heaven, and some morning it will be a smooth hillside,

(10) And (bethink you of) the Day when we remove the hills and ye see the earth emerging, and We gather them together so as to leave not one of them behind.
