(1) Allah will throw back their mockery on them, and give them rope in their trespasses; so they will wander like blind ones (To and fro).

(2) O ye who believe! take not for friends and protectors those who take your religion for a mockery or sport,- whether among those who received the Scripture before you, or among those who reject Faith; but fear ye Allah, if ye have faith (indeed).

(3) When ye proclaim your call to prayer they take it (but) as mockery and sport; that is because they are a people without understanding.

(4) And now they reject the truth when it reaches them: but soon shall they learn the reality of what they used to mock at.

(5) mocked were (many) messengers before thee; but their scoffers were hemmed in by the thing that they mocked.

(6) The Hypocrites are afraid lest a Sura should be sent down about them, showing them what is (really passing) in their hearts. Say: "mock ye! But verily Allah will bring to light all that ye fear (should be revealed).

(7) If thou dost question them, they declare (with emphasis): "We were only talking idly and in play." Say: "Was it at Allah, and His Signs, and His Messenger, that ye were mocking?"

(8) If We delay the penalty for them for a definite term, they are sure to say, "What keeps it back?" Ah! On the day it (actually) reaches them, nothing will turn it away from them, and they will be completely encircled by that which they used to mock at!

(9) mocked were (many) messengers before thee: but I granted respite to the unbelievers, and finally I punished them: Then how (terrible) was my requital!

(10) But never came a messenger to them but they mocked him.
