(11) Or (take) the similitude of one who passed by a hamlet, all in ruins to its roofs. He said: "Oh! how shall Allah bring it (ever) to life, after (this) its death?" but Allah caused him to die for a hundred years, then raised him up (again). He said: "How long didst thou tarry (thus)?" He said: (Perhaps) a day or part of a day." He said: "nay, thou hast tarried thus a hundred years; but look at thy food and thy drink; they show no signs of age; and look at thy donkey: And that We may make of thee a sign unto the people, Look further at the bones, how We bring them together and clothe them with flesh." When this was shown clearly to him, he said: "I know that Allah hath power over all things."
(12) nay.- Those that keep their plighted faith and act aright,-verily Allah loves those who act aright.
(13) nay, Allah is your protector, and He is the best of helpers.
(14) Think not of those who are slain in Allah's way as dead. nay, they live, finding their sustenance in the presence of their Lord;
(15) And let not those who covetously withhold of the gifts which Allah Hath given them of His Grace, think that it is good for them: nay, it will be the worse for them: soon shall the things which they covetously withheld be tied to their necks Like a twisted collar, on the Day of Judgment. To Allah belongs the heritage of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is well-acquainted with all that ye do.
(16) Hast thou not turned Thy vision to those who claim sanctity for themselves? nay-but Allah Doth sanctify whom He pleaseth. But never will they fail to receive justice in the least little thing.
(17) Yea, to those who take for friends unbelievers rather than believers: is it honour they seek among them? nay,- all honour is with Allah.
(18) What can Allah gain by your punishment, if ye are grateful and ye believe? nay, it is Allah that recogniseth (all good), and knoweth all things.
(19) (They have incurred divine displeasure): In that they broke their covenant; that they rejected the signs of Allah; that they slew the Messengers in defiance of right; that they said, "Our hearts are the wrappings (which preserve Allah's Word; We need no more)";- nay, Allah hath set the seal on their hearts for their blasphemy, and little is it they believe;-
(20) nay, Allah raised him up unto Himself; and Allah is Exalted in Power, Wise;-
