(52) So when Our decree issued, We saved Hud and those who believed with him, by (special) Grace from ourselves: We saved them from a severe penalty.

(53) But they did ham-string her. So he said: "Enjoy yourselves in your homes for three days: (Then will be your ruin): (Behold) there a promise not to be belied!"

(54) When Our Decree issued, We saved Salih and those who believed with him, by (special) Grace from ourselves - and from the Ignominy of that day. For thy Lord - He is the Strong One, and able to enforce His Will.

(55) When Our decree issued, We saved Shu'aib and those who believed with him, by (special) mercy from ourselves: But the (mighty) blast did seize the wrong-doers, and they lay prostrate in their homes by the morning,-

(56) They said: "If the wolf were to devour him while we are (so large) a party, then should we indeed (first) have perished ourselves!"

(57) And when he had furnished them forth with provisions (suitable) for them, he said: "Bring unto me a brother ye have, of the same father as yourselves, (but a different mother): see ye not that I pay out full measure, and that I do provide the best hospitality?

(58) (Jacob) said: "Never will I send him with you until ye swear a solemn oath to me, in Allah's name, that ye will be sure to bring him back to me unless ye are yourselves hemmed in (and made powerless). And when they had sworn their solemn oath, he said: "Over all that we say, be Allah the witness and guardian!"

(59) Jacob said: "Nay, but ye have yourselves contrived a story (good enough) for you. So patience is most fitting (for me). Maybe Allah will bring them (back) all to me (in the end). For He is indeed full of knowledge and wisdom."

(60) Whether We shall show thee (within thy life-time) part of what we promised them or take to ourselves thy soul (before it is all accomplished),- thy duty is to make (the Message) reach them: it is our part to call them to account.
