(1) And when ye said: O Moses! We will not believe in thee till we see Allah plainly; and even while ye gazed the lightning seized you.

They asked a greater thing of Moses aforetime, for they said: Show us Allah plainly. The storm of lightning seized them for their wickedness. Then (even) after that) they chose the calf (for worship) after clear proofs (of Allah's Sovereignty) had come unto them. And We forgave them that! And We bestowed on Moses evident authority.

(3) Say: Obey Allah and obey the messenger. But if ye turn away, then (it is) for him (to do) only that wherewith he hath been charged, and for you (to do) only that wherewith ye have been charged. If ye obey him, ye will go aright. But the messenger hath no other charge than to convey (the message) plainly.

(4) And I shall be embarrassed, and my tongue will not speak plainly, therefor send for Aaron (to help me).

(5) And hell will appear plainly to the erring.

(6) But if ye deny, then nations have denied before you. The messenger is only to convey (the message) plainly.

(7) And We blessed him and Isaac. And of their seed are some who do good, and some who plainly wrong themselves.

(8) Obey Allah and obey His messenger; but if ye turn away, then the duty of Our messenger is only to convey (the message) plainly.
