(1) And certainly We sent (apostles) to nations before you then We seized them with distress and affliction in order that they might humble themselves.

(2) But when they neglected that with which they had been admonished, We opened for them the doors of all things, until when they rejoiced in what they were given We seized them suddenly; then lo! they were in utter despair.

(3) And when Musa returned to his people, wrathful (and) in violent grief, he said: Evil is it that you have done after me; did you turn away from the bidding of your Lord? And he threw down the tablets and seized his brother by the head, dragging him towards him. He said: Son of my mother! surely the people reckoned me weak and had well-nigh slain me, therefore make not the enemies to rejoice over me and count me not among the unjust people.

(4) As for the boat, it belonged to (some) poor men who worked on the river and I wished that I should damage it, and there was behind them a king who seized every boat by force.

(5) Cursed: wherever they are found they shall be seized and murdered, a (horrible) murdering.

(6) And could you see when they shall become terrified, but (then) there shall be no escape and they shall be seized upon from a near place

(7) So We seized him and his hosts and hurled them into the sea and he was blamable.

(8) The guilty shall be recognized by their marks, so they shall be seized by the forelocks and the feet.

(9) We would certainly have seized him by the right hand,

(10) So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life.
