(1) And warn with it those who fear that they shall be gathered to their lord-- there is no guardian for them, nor any intercessor besides Him-- that they may guard (against evil).

(2) Surely your lord-- He best knows who goes astray from His way, and He best knows those who follow the right course.

(3) And what reason have you that you should not eat of that on which Allah's name has been mentioned, and He has already made plain to you what He has forbidden to you-- excepting what you are compelled to; and most surely many would lead (people) astray by their low desires out of ignorance; surely your lord-- He best knows those who exceed the limits.

(4) Those whom they call upon, themselves seek the means of access to their lord-- whoever of them is nearest-- and they hope for His mercy and fear His chastisement; surely the chastisement of your Lord is a thing to be cautious of.

(5) But on account of mercy from your lord-- surely His grace to you is abundant.

(6) Then he said: Surely I preferred the good things to the remembrance of my lord-- until the sun set and time for Asr prayer was over, (he said):

(7) And those who are fearful of the chastisement of their lord--

(8) And that He-- exalted be the majesty of our lord-- has not taken a consort, nor a son:
