(25) That is Our argument. We gave it unto abraham against his folk. We raise unto degrees of wisdom whom We will. Lo! thy Lord is Wise, Aware.

(26) Say: Lo! As for me, my Lord hath guided me unto a straight path, a right religion, the community of abraham, the upright, who was no idolater.

(27) Hath not the fame of those before them reached them - the folk of Noah, A'ad, Thamud, the folk of abraham, the dwellers of Midian and the disasters (which befell them)? Their messengers (from Allah) came unto them with proofs (of Allah's Sovereignty). So Allah surely wronged them not, but they did wrong themselves.

(28) The prayer of abraham for the forgiveness of his father was only because of a promise he had promised him, but when it had become clear unto him that he (his father) was an enemy to Allah he (abraham) disowned him. Lo! abraham was soft of heart, long-suffering.

(29) And Our messengers cam unto abraham with good news. They said: Peace! He answered: Peace! and delayed not to bring a roasted calf.

(30) And when the awe departed from abraham, and the glad news reached him, he pleaded with Us on behalf of the folk of Lot.
