(33) We send not down the angels save with the Fact, and in that case (the disbelievers) would not be tolerated.

(34) We verily sent (messengers) before thee among the factions of the men of old.

(35) Hath he perused the Unseen, or hath he made a pact with the Beneficent?

(36) They speak not until He hath spoken, and they act by His command.

(37) And they say: We believe in Allah and the messenger, and we obey; then after that a faction of them turn away. Such are not believers.

(38) And when they appeal unto Allah and His messenger to judge between them, lo! a faction of them are averse;

(39) They said: Nay, but we found our fathers acting on this wise.

(40) Must ye needs lust after men instead of women? Nay, but ye are folk who act senselessly.
