(33) And thus (it is) that We have sent down the Book to thee. So the People of the Book believe therein, as also do some of these (pagan arabs): and none but Unbelievers reject our signs.

(34) verily We have propounded for men, in this Qur'an every kind of Parable: But if thou bring to them any Sign, the Unbelievers are sure to say, "Ye do nothing but talk vanities."

(35) Set forth to them, by way of a parable, the (story of) the Companions of the City. Behold!, there came messengers to it.

(36) We have put forth for men, in this Qur'an every kind of Parable, in order that they may receive admonition.

(37) (It is) a Qur'an in arabic, without any crookedness (therein): in order that they may guard against Evil.

(38) Allah puts forth a Parable a man belonging to many partners at variance with each other, and a man belonging entirely to one master: are those two equal in comparison? Praise be to Allah! but most of them have no knowledge.

(39) A Book, whereof the verses are explained in detail;- a Qur'an in arabic, for people who understand;-

(40) Had We sent this as a Qur'an (in the language) other than arabic, they would have said: "Why are not its verses explained in detail? What! (a Book) not in arabic and (a Messenger an arab?" Say: "It is a Guide and a Healing to those who believe; and for those who believe not, there is a deafness in their ears, and it is blindness in their (eyes): They are (as it were) being called from a place far distant!"
