(2) Then your hearts hardened after that, so that they were like rocks, rather worse in hardness; and surely there are some rocks from which streams burst forth, and surely there are some of them which split asunder so water issues out of them, and surely there are some of them which fall down for fear of Allah, and Allah is not at all heedless of what you do.

(3) When those who were followed shall renounce those who followed (them), and they see the chastisement and their ties are cut asunder.

(4) And those who break the covenant of Allah after its confirmation and cut asunder that which Allah has ordered to be joined and make mischief in the land; (as for) those, upon them shall be curse and they shall have the evil (issue) of the abode.

(5) The heavens may almost be rent thereat, and the earth cleave asunder, and the mountains fall down in pieces,

(6) And on the day when the heaven shall burst asunder with the clouds, and the angels shall be sent down descending (in ranks).

(7) Then We revealed to Musa: Strike the sea with your staff. So it had cloven asunder, and each part was like a huge mound.

(8) The heavens may almost rend asunder from above them and the angels sing the praise of their Lord and ask forgiveness for those on earth; now surely Allah is the Forgiving, the Merciful.

(9) A parable of the garden which those guarding (against evil) are promised: Therein are rivers of water that does not alter, and rivers of milk the taste whereof does not change, and rivers of drink delicious to those who drink, and rivers of honey clarified and for them therein are all fruits and protection from their Lord. (Are these) like those who abide in the fire and who are made to drink boiling water so it rends their bowels asunder.

(10) The day on which the earth shall cleave asunder under them, they will make haste; that is a gathering together easy to Us.
