(1) And the parable of those who spend their property to seek the pleasure of Allah and for the certainty 'of their souls is as the parable of a garden on an elevated ground, upon which heavy rain falls so it brings forth its fruit twofold but if heavy rain does not fall upon it, then light rain (is sufficient); and Allah sees what you do.

(2) And most surely We will make what is on it bare ground without herbage.

(3) Then maybe my Lord will give me what is better than your garden, and send on it a thunderbolt from heaven so that it shall become even ground without plant,

(4) Or its waters should sink down into the ground so that you are unable to find it.

(5) He said: This is a mercy from my Lord, but when the promise of my Lord comes to pass He will make it level with the ground, and the promise of my Lord is ever true.

(6) His is what is in the heavens and what is in the earth and what is between them two and what is beneath the ground.

(7) And We made the son of Marium and his mother a sign, and We gave them a shelter on a lofty ground having meadows and springs.

(8) But they called him a liar and slaughtered her, therefore their Lord crushed them for their sin and levelled them (with the ground).
