(31) And surely, We have created many of the jinn and mankind for hell. They have hearts wherewith they understand not, and they have eyes wherewith they see not, and they have ears wherewith they hear not (the truth). They are like cattle, nay even more astray; those! They are the heedless ones.

(32) And whoever turns his back to them on such a day - unless it be a stratagem of war, or to retreat to a troop (of his own), - he indeed has drawn upon himself wrath from Allah. And his abode is hell, and worst indeed is that destination!

(33) Verily, those who disbelieve spend their wealth to hinder (men) from the Path of Allah, and so will they continue to spend it; but in the end it will become an anguish for them. Then they will be overcome. And those who disbelieve will be gathered unto hell.

(34) In order that Allah may distinguish the wicked (disbelievers, polytheists and doers of evil deeds) from the good (believers of Islamic Monotheism and doers of righteous deeds), and put the wicked (disbelievers, polytheists and doers of evil deeds) one over another, heap them together and cast them into hell. Those! it is they who are the losers.

(35) On the Day when that (Al-Kanz: money, gold and silver the Zakat of which has not been paid) will be heated in the Fire of hell and with it will be branded their foreheads, their flanks, and their backs, (and it will be said unto them): "This is the treasure which you hoarded for yourselves. Now taste of what you used to hoard."

(36) And among them is he who says: "Grant me leave (to be exempted from Jihad) and put me not into trial." Surely, they have fallen into trial. And verily, hell is surrounding the disbelievers.

(37) Know they not that whoever opposes and shows hostility to Allah (عز وجل) and His Messenger(صلى الله عليه وسلم), certainly for him will be the Fire of hell to abide therein. That is the extreme disgrace.

(38) Allah has promised the hypocrites - men and women - and the disbelievers, the Fire of hell; therein shall they abide. It will suffice them. Allah has cursed them and for them is the lasting torment.

(39) O Prophet (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم)! Strive hard against the disbelievers and the hypocrites, and be harsh against them, their abode is hell, - and worst indeed is that destination.

(40) Those who stayed away (from Tabuk expedition) rejoiced in their staying behind the Messenger of Allah; they hated to strive and fight with their properties and their lives in the Cause of Allah, and they said: "March not forth in the heat." Say: "The Fire of hell is more intense in heat"; if only they could understand!
