(21) The woman and the man guilty of adultery or fornication,- flog each of them with a hundred stripes: Let not compassion move you in their case, in a matter prescribed by Allah, if ye believe in Allah and the last day: and let a party of the Believers witness their punishment.
(22) To the Madyan (people) (We sent) their brother Shu'aib. Then he said: "O my people! serve Allah, and fear the last day: nor commit evil on the earth, with intent to do mischief."
(23) These (today) only wait for a single mighty Blast, which (when it comes) will brook no delay.
(24) And thou wilt see them brought forward to the (Penalty), in a humble frame of mind because of (their) disgrace, (and) looking with a stealthy glance. And the Believers will say: "Those are indeed in loss, who have given to perdition their own selves and those belonging to them on the day of Judgment. Behold! Truly the Wrong-doers are in a lasting Penalty!"
(25) The day when they will hear a (mighty) Blast in (very) truth: that will be the day of Resurrection.
(26) Thou wilt not find any people who believe in Allah and the last day, loving those who resist Allah and His Messenger, even though they were their fathers or their sons, or their brothers, or their kindred. For such He has written Faith in their hearts, and strengthened them with a spirit from Himself. And He will admit them to Gardens beneath which Rivers flow, to dwell therein (for ever). Allah will be well pleased with them, and they with Him. They are the Party of Allah. Truly it is the Party of Allah that will achieve Felicity.
(27) There was indeed in them an excellent example for you to follow,- for those whose hope is in Allah and in the last day. But if any turn away, truly Allah is Free of all Wants, Worthy of all Praise.
(28) Thus when they fulfil their term appointed, either take them back on equitable terms or part with them on equitable terms; and take for witness two persons from among you, endued with justice, and establish the evidence (as) before Allah. Such is the admonition given to him who believes in Allah and the last day. And for those who fear Allah, He (ever) prepares a way out,
