(1) And to Samood (We sent) their brother Salih. He said: O my people! serve Allah, you have no god other than Him; clear proof indeed has come to you from your Lord; this is (as) Allah's she-camel for you-- a sign, therefore leave her alone to pasture on Allah's earth, and do not touch her with any harm, otherwise painful chastisement will overtake you.
(2) Say to those who disbelieve, if they desist, that which is past shall be forgiven to them; and if they return, then what happened to the ancients has already passed.
(3) And, O my people! this will be (as) Allah's she-camel for you, a sign; therefore leave her to pasture on Allah's earth and do not touch her with evil, for then a near chastisement will overtake you.
(4) So when she heard of their sly talk she sent for them and prepared for them a repast, and gave each of them a knife, and said (to Yusuf): Come forth to them. So when they saw him, they deemed him great, and cut their hands (in amazement), and said: Remote is Allah (from imperfection); this is not a mortal; this is but a noble angel.
(5) And there is beauty in them for you when you drive them back (to home), and when you send them forth (to pasture).
(6) He it is Who sends down water from the cloud for you; it gives drink, and by it (grow) the trees upon which you pasture.
(7) Eat and pasture your cattle; most surely there are signs in this for those endowed with understanding.
(8) And Dawood and Sulaiman when they gave judgment concerning the field when the people's sheep pastured therein by night, and We were bearers of witness to their judgment.
(9) That Allah may forgive your community their past faults and those to follow and complete His favor to you and keep you on a right way,
(10) He brought forth from it its water and its pasturage.
