(1) O people! be careful of (your duty to) your Lord, Who created you from a single being and created its mate of the same (kind) and spread from these two, many men and women; and be careful of (your duty to) Allah, by Whom you demand one of another (your rights), and (to) the ties of relationship; surely Allah ever watches over you.

(2) And (as for) those who believed afterwards and fled and struggled hard along with you, they are of you; and the possessors of relationships are nearer to each other in the ordinance of Allah; surely Allah knows all things.

(3) How (can it be)! while if they prevail against you, they would not pay regard in your case to ties of relationship, nor those of covenant; they please you with their mouths while their hearts do not consent; and most of them are transgressors.

(4) They do not pay regard to ties of relationship nor those of covenant in the case of a believer; and these are they who go beyond the limits.

(5) So when the trumpet is blown, there shall be no ties of relationship between them on that day, nor shall they ask of each other.

(6) And He it is Who has created man from the water, then He has made for him blood relationship and marriage relationship, and your Lord is powerful.

(7) Assert their relationship to their fathers; this is more equitable with Allah; but if you do not know their fathers, then they are your brethren in faith and your friends; and there is no blame on you concerning that in which you made a mistake, but (concerning) that which your hearts do purposely (blame may rest on you), and Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.

(8) The Prophet has a greater claim on the faithful than they have on themselves, and his wives are (as) their mothers; and the possessors of relationship have the better claim in the ordinance of Allah to inheritance, one with respect to another, than (other) believers, and (than) those who have fled (their homes), except that you do some good to your friends; this is written in the Book.

(9) And they assert a relationship between Him and the jinn; and certainly the jinn do know that they shall surely be brought up;

(10) Your relationship would not profit you, nor your children on the day of resurrection; He will decide between you; and Allah sees what you do.
