(1) And when it is said to him, guard against (the punishment of) Allah; pride carries him off to sin, therefore hell is sufficient for him; and certainly it is an evil resting place.

(2) And who is more unjust than he who forges a lie against Allah, or says: It has been revealed to me; while nothing has been revealed to him, and he who says: I can reveal the like of what Allah has revealed? and if you had seen when the unjust shall be in the agonies of death and the angels shall spread forth their hands: Give up your souls; today shall you be recompensed with an ignominious chastisement because you spoke against Allah other than the truth and (because) you showed pride against His communications.

(3) Then did We send up after them Musa and Haroun to Firon and his chiefs with Our signs, but they showed pride and they were a guilty people.

(4) And (He made) horses and mules and asses that you might ride upon them and as an ornament; and He creates what you do not know.

(5) And whatever creature that is in the heavens and that is in the earth makes obeisance to Allah (only), and the angels (too) and they do not show pride.

(6) So when they ride in the ships they call upon Allah, being sincerely obedient to Him, but when He brings them safe to the land, lo! they associate others (with Him);

(7) And We have created for them the like of it, what they will ride on.

(8) And We have subjected them to them, so some of them they have to ride upon, and some of them they eat.

(9) Allah is He Who made the cattle for you that you may ride on some of them, and some of them you eat.

(10) And He Who created pairs of all things, and made for you of the ships and the cattle what you ride on,
