(11) "And I have followed the religion of my fathers, - Ibrahim (Abraham), Ishaq (Isaac) and ya'qub (Jacob) [عليهم السلام], and never could we attribute any partners whatsoever to Allah. This is from the Grace of Allah to us and to mankind, but most men thank not (i.e. they neither believe in Allah, nor worship Him).
(12) He [ya'qub (Jacob)] said: "I will not send him with you until you swear a solemn oath to me in Allah's Name, that you will bring him back to me unless you are yourselves surrounded (by enemies)," And when they had sworn their solemn oath, he said: "Allah is the Witness to what we have said."
(13) And when they entered according to their father's advice, it did not avail them in the least against (the Will of) Allah; it was but a need of ya'qub's (Jacob) inner-self which he discharged. And verily, he was endowed with knowledge because We had taught him, but most men know not.
(14) He [ya'qub (Jacob)] said: "Nay, but your ownselves have beguiled you into something. So patience is most fitting (for me). May be Allah will bring them (back) all to me. Truly He! Only He is All-Knowing, All-Wise."
(15) "Who shall inherit me, and inherit (also) the posterity of ya'qub (Jacob) (inheritance of the religious knowledge and Prophethood, not of wealth.). And make him, my Lord, one with whom You are Well-Pleased!"
(16) So when he had turned away from them and from those whom they worshipped besides Allah, We gave him Ishaq (Isaac) and ya'qub (Jacob), and each one of them We made a Prophet.
(17) And We bestowed upon him Ishaq (Isaac), and (a grandson) ya'qub (Jacob). Each one We made righteous.
(18) And We bestowed on him [Ibrahim (Abraham)], Ishaq (Isaac) and ya'qub (Jacob), and We ordained among his offspring Prophethood and the Book [i.e. the Taurat (Torah) (to Musa - Moses), the Injeel (Gospel) (to 'Îsa - Jesus), and the Qur'an (to Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم), all from the offspring of Ibrahim (Abraham)], and We granted him his reward in this world; and verily, in the Hereafter he is indeed among the righteous.
(19) And remember Our slaves, Ibrahim (Abraham), Ishaq (Isaac), and ya'qub (Jacob), (all) owners of strength (in worshipping Us) and (also) of religious understanding.
