(3) And stay in your houses and do not display your finery like the displaying of the ignorance of yore; and keep up prayer, and pay the poor-rate, and obey Allah and His Apostle. Allah only desires to keep away the uncleanness from you, O people of the House! and to purify you a (thorough) purifying.

(5) Allah, your Lord and the Lord of your fathers of yore?

(6) Had we a reminder from those of yore,

(7) There is no god but He; He gives life and causes death, your Lord and the Lord of your fathers of yore.

(8) Or our fathers of yore?

(9) When Our communications are recited to him, he says: Stories of those of yore.

(10) This is the day of decision: We have gathered you and those of yore.
