(42) They celebrate His praises night and day, nor do they ever flag or intermit.

(43) It is He Who created the night and the Day, and the sun and the moon: all (the celestial bodies) swim along, each in its rounded course.

(44) Say: "Who can keep you safe by night and by day from (the Wrath of) (Allah) Most Gracious?" Yet they turn away from the mention of their Lord.

(45) And remember David and Solomon, when they gave judgment in the matter of the field into which the sheep of certain people had strayed by night: We did witness their judgment.

(46) Then will the true promise draw nigh (of fulfilment): then behold! the eyes of the Unbelievers will fixedly stare in horror: "Ah! Woe to us! we were indeed heedless of this; nay, we truly did wrong!"

(47) That is because Allah merges night into day, and He merges day into night, and verily it is Allah Who hears and sees (all things).

(48) "In arrogance: talking nonsense about the (Qur'an), like one telling fables by night."

(49) It is He Who gives life and death, and to Him (is due) the alternation of night and Day: will ye not then understand?

(50) Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth. The Parable of His Light is as if there were a Niche and within it a Lamp: the Lamp enclosed in Glass: the glass as it were a brilliant star: Lit from a blessed Tree, an Olive, neither of the east nor of the west, whose oil is well-nigh luminous, though fire scarce touched it: Light upon Light! Allah doth guide whom He will to His Light: Allah doth set forth Parables for men: and Allah doth know all things.
