(41) Those whom ye worship beside Him are but names which ye have named, ye and your fathers. Allah hath revealed no sanction for them. The decision rests with Allah only, Who hath commanded you that ye worship none save Him. This is the right religion, but most men know not.

(42) And those who disbelieved said unto their messengers: Verily we will drive you out from our land, unless ye return to our religion. Then their Lord inspired them, (saying): Verily we shall destroy the wrong-doers,

(43) Unto Him belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and the earth, and religion is His for ever. Will ye then fear any other than Allah?

(44) And afterward We inspired thee (Muhammad, saying): Follow the religion of Abraham, as one by nature upright. He was not of the idolaters.

(45) For they, if they should come to know of you, will stone you or turn you back to their religion; then ye will never prosper.

(46) Lo! this, your religion, is one religion, and I am your Lord, so worship Me.

(47) And they have broken their religion (into fragments) among them, (yet) all are returning unto Us.

(48) And strive for Allah with the endeavour which is His right. He hath chosen you and hath not laid upon you in religion any hardship; the faith of your father Abraham (is yours). He hath named you Muslims of old time and in this (Scripture), that the messenger may be a witness against you, and that ye may be witnesses against mankind. So establish worship, pay the poor-due, and hold fast to Allah. He is your Protecting friend. A blessed Patron and a blessed Helper!

(49) And lo! this your religion is one religion and I am your Lord, so keep your duty unto Me.

(50) But they (mankind) have broken their religion among them into sects, each group rejoicing in its tenets.
