The word(s) "respite" appears 41 time(s) in 40 verse(s) in Quran in Abdullah Yusuf Ali translation.

(21) If Allah were to punish men for their wrong-doing, He would not leave, on the (earth), a single living creature: but He gives them respite for a stated Term: When their Term expires, they would not be able to delay (the punishment) for a single hour, just as they would not be able to anticipate it (for a single hour).
(22) When the wrong-doers (actually) see the Penalty, then will it in no way be mitigated, nor will they then receive respite.
(23) He said: "Seest Thou? this is the one whom Thou hast honoured above me! If Thou wilt but respite me to the Day of Judgment, I will surely bring his descendants under my sway - all but a few!"
(24) Had it not been for a Word that went forth before from thy Lord, (their punishment) must necessarily have come; but there is a Term appointed (for respite).
(25) Nay, it may come to them all of a sudden and confound them: no power will they have then to avert it, nor will they (then) get respite.
(26) And the Companions of the Madyan People; and Moses was rejected (in the same way). But I granted respite to the Unbelievers, and (only) after that did I punish them: but how (terrible) was my rejection (of them)!
(27) And to how many populations did I give respite, which were given to wrong-doing? in the end I punished them. To me is the destination (of all).
(28) Then they will say: "Shall we be respited?"
(29) They ask thee to hasten on the Punishment (for them): had it not been for a term (of respite) appointed, the Punishment would certainly have come to them: and it will certainly reach them,- of a sudden, while they perceive not!
(30) Say: "On the Day of Decision, no profit will it be to Unbelievers if they (then) believe! nor will they be granted a respite."
