(21) And satan saith, when the matter hath been decided: Lo! Allah promised you a promise of truth; and I promised you, then failed you. I disbelieved in that which ye before ascribed to me. Lo! for wrong-doers is a painful doom.

(22) And when thou recitest the Qur'an, seek refuge in Allah from satan the outcast.

(23) And excite any of them whom thou canst with thy voice, and urge thy horse and foot against them, and be a partner in their wealth and children, and promise them. satan promiseth them only to deceive.

(24) He said: Didst thou see, when we took refuge on the rock, and I forgot the fish - and none but satan caused me to forget to mention it - it took its way into the waters by a marvel.

(25) Never sent We a messenger or a prophet before thee but when He recited (the message) satan proposed (opposition) in respect of that which he recited thereof. But Allah abolisheth that which satan proposeth. Then Allah establisheth His revelations. Allah is Knower, Wise;

(26) He verily led me astray from the Reminder after it had reached me. satan was ever man's deserter in the hour of need.

(27) I found her and her people worshipping the sun instead of Allah; and satan maketh their works fairseeming unto them, and debarreth them from the way (of Truth), so that they go not aright;

(28) And (the tribes of) A'ad and Thamud! (Their fate) is manifest unto you from their (ruined and deserted) dwellings. satan made their deeds seem fair unto them and so debarred them from the Way, though they were keen observers.

(29) And satan indeed found his calculation true concerning them, for they follow him, all save a group of true believers.

(30) Is he, the evil of whose deeds is made fairseeming unto him so that he deemeth it good, (other than satan's dupe)? Allah verily sendeth whom He will astray, and guideth whom He will; so let not thy soul expire in sighings for them. Lo! Allah is Aware of what they do!
