| 2. | أَحَسِبَ النَّاسُ أَن يُتْرَكُوا أَن يَقُولُوا آمَنَّا وَهُمْ لَا يُفْتَنُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Ahasiba alnnasu an yutrakoo an yaqooloo amanna wahum la yuftanoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | Do men think that they will be left alone on saying, "We believe", and that they will not be tested? |
| Shakir: | Do men think that they will be left alone on saying, We believe, and not be tried? |
| Pickthall: | Do men imagine that they will be left (at ease) because they say, We believe, and will not be tested with affliction? |
| Mohsin Khan: | Do people think that they will be left alone because they say: "We believe," and will not be tested. |
| French: | Est-ce que les gens pensent qu'on les laissera dire: «Nous croyons!» sans les éprouver? |
| Spanish: | Piensan los hombres que se les dejará decir: «¡Creemos!», sin ser probados? |
| Indonesian: | Apakah manusia itu mengira bahwa mereka dibiarkan (saja) mengatakan: "Kami telah beriman", sedang mereka tidak diuji lagi?

| Malay:: | Patutkah manusia menyangka bahawa mereka akan dibiarkan dengan hanya berkata: Kami beriman, sedang mereka tidak diuji (dengan sesuatu cubaan)?

| German: | Meinen die Menschen, daß sie in Ruhe gelassen werden, (nur) weil sie sagen: "Wir glauben", ohne daß sie geprüft werden? |
| Russian: | Неужели люди полагают, что их оставят и не подвергнут искушению только за то, что они скажут: «Мы уверовали»? |
| Bosnian: | Misle li ljudi da će biti ostavljeni na miru ako kažu: "Mi vjerujemo!" i da u iskušenje neće biti dovedeni? |
| Urdu: | کیا لوگ خیال کرتے ہیں یہ کہنے سےکہ ہم ایمان لائے ہیں چھوڑ دیئے جائیں گے اور ان کی آزمائش نہیں کی جائے گی |

| 3. | وَلَقَدْ فَتَنَّا الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ ۖ فَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ صَدَقُوا وَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ الْكَاذِبِينَ |
| Transliteration: | Walaqad fatanna allatheena min qablihim falayaAAlamanna Allahu allatheena sadaqoo walayaAAlamanna alkathibeena |
| Yusuf Ali: | We did test those before them, and Allah will certainly know those who are true from those who are false. |
| Shakir: | And certainly We tried those before them, so Allah will certainly know those who are true and He will certainly know the liars. |
| Pickthall: | Lo! We tested those who were before you. Thus Allah knoweth those who are sincere, and knoweth those who feign. |
| Mohsin Khan: | And We indeed tested those who were before them. And Allah will certainly make (it) known (the truth of) those who are true, and will certainly make (it) known (the falsehood of) those who are liars, (although Allah knows all that before putting them to test). |
| French: | Certes, Nous avons éprouvé ceux qui ont vécu avant eux; [Ainsi] Allah connaît ceux qui disent la vérité et ceux qui mentent. |
| Spanish: | Ya probamos a sus predecesores. Alá, sí, conoce perfectamente a los sinceros y conoce perfectamente a los que mienten. |
| Indonesian: | Dan sesungguhnya Kami telah menguji orang-orang yang sebelum mereka, maka sesungguhnya Allah mengetahui orang-orang yang benar dan sesungguhnya Dia mengetahui orang-orang yang dusta.

| Malay:: | Dan demi sesungguhnya! Kami telah menguji orang-orang yang terdahulu daripada mereka, maka (dengan ujian yang demikian), nyata apa yang diketahui Allah tentang orang-orang yang sebenar-benarnya beriman dan nyata pula apa yang diketahuiNya tentang orang-orang yang berdusta.

| German: | Wir haben bereits diejenigen vor ihnen geprüft. Allah wird ganz gewiß diejenigen kennen, die die Wahrheit sprechen, und Er wird ganz gewiß die Lügner kennen. |
| Russian: | Мы уже подвергли искушению тех, кто был до них. Аллах непременно узнает тех, которые говорят правду, и непременно узнает лжецов. |
| Bosnian: | A Mi smo u iskušenje dovodili i one prije njih, da bi Allah sigurno ukazao na one koji govore istinu i na one koji lažu. |
| Urdu: | اور جو لوگ ان سے پہلے گزر چکے ہیں ہم نے انہیں بھی آزمایا تھا سو الله انہیں ضرور معلوم کرے گا جو سچے ہیں اور ان کو بھی جو جھوٹے ہیں |

| 4. | أَمْ حَسِبَ الَّذِينَ يَعْمَلُونَ السَّيِّئَاتِ أَن يَسْبِقُونَا ۚ سَاءَ مَا يَحْكُمُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Am hasiba allatheena yaAAmaloona alssayyiati an yasbiqoona saa ma yahkumoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | Do those who practise evil think that they will get the better of Us? Evil is their judgment! |
| Shakir: | Or do they who work evil think that they will escape Us? Evil is it that they judge! |
| Pickthall: | Or do those who do ill-deeds imagine that they can outstrip Us? Evil (for them) is that which they decide. |
| Mohsin Khan: | Or think those who do evil deeds that they can outstrip Us (i.e. escape Our punishment)? Evil is that which they judge! |
| French: | Ou bien ceux qui commettent des méfaits, comptent-ils pouvoir Nous échapper? Comme leur jugement est mauvais! |
| Spanish: | ¿Piensan quienes obran mal que podrán escapar de Nosotros? ¡Qué mal juzgan! |
| Indonesian: | Ataukah orang-orang yang mengerjakan kejahatan itu mengira bahwa mereka akan luput dari (azab) Kami? Amatlah buruk apa yang mereka tetapkan itu.

| Malay:: | Bahkan patutkah orang-orang yang melakukan kejahatan menyangka bahawa mereka akan terlepas dari azab Kami? Amatlah buruk apa yang mereka hukumkan itu.

| German: | Oder meinen diejenigen, die böse Taten begehen, daß sie Uns entkommen (können)? Wie böse ist, was sie urteilen! |
| Russian: | Неужели те, которые совершают злые деяния, полагают, что они опередят Нас (спасутся от наказания)? Скверно же они судят! |
| Bosnian: | Zar misle oni koji zla djela rade da će Nama umaći? – Loše prosuđuju! |
| Urdu: | کیا وہ لوگ جو برے کام کرتے ہیں یہ سمجھتے ہیں کہ ہمارے قابو سے نکل جائیں گے برا ہے جو فیصلہ کرتے ہیں |

| 5. | مَن كَانَ يَرْجُو لِقَاءَ اللَّهِ فَإِنَّ أَجَلَ اللَّهِ لَآتٍ ۚ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ |
| Transliteration: | Man kana yarjoo liqaa Allahi fainna ajala Allahi laatin wahuwa alssameeAAu alAAaleemu |
| Yusuf Ali: | For those whose hopes are in the meeting with Allah (in the Hereafter, let them strive); for the term (appointed) by Allah is surely coming and He hears and knows (all things). |
| Shakir: | Whoever hopes to meet Allah, the term appointed by Allah will then most surely come; and He is the Hearing, the Knowing. |
| Pickthall: | Whoso looketh forward to the meeting with Allah (let him know that) Allah's reckoning is surely nigh, and He is the Hearer, the Knower. |
| Mohsin Khan: | Whoever hopes for the Meeting with Allah, then Allah's Term is surely coming and He is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower. |
| French: | Celui qui espère rencontrer Allah, le terme fixé par Allah va certainement venir. Et c'est Lui l'Audient, l'Omniscient. |
| Spanish: | Quien cuente con encontrar a Alá sepa que el plazo fijado por Alá vendrá ciertamente, Él es Quien todo lo oye, Quien todo lo sabe. |
| Indonesian: | Barangsiapa yang mengharap pertemuan dengan Allah, maka sesungguhnya waktu (yang dijanjikan) Allah itu, pasti datang. Dan Dialah Yang Maha Mendengar lagi Maha Mengetahui.

| Malay:: | Sesiapa yang percaya akan pertemuannya dengan Allah (untuk menerima balasan), maka sesungguhnya masa yang telah ditetapkan oleh Allah itu akan tiba (dengan tidak syak lagi) dan Allah jualah Yang Maha Mendengar, lagi Maha Mengetahui.

| German: | Wer die Begegnung mit Allah erwartet-, so wird Allahs Frist sicher kommen. Und Er ist der Allhörende und Allwissende. |
| Russian: | Если кто надеется на встречу с Аллахом, то ведь срок Аллаха непременно наступит. Он - Слышащий, Видящий. |
| Bosnian: | Onaj ko se boji susreta sa Allahom – pa, doći će, sigurno, Dan obećani; a On sve čuje i sve zna! |
| Urdu: | جو شخص الله سے ملنے کی امید رکھتا ہو سو الله کا وعدہ آ رہا ہے اور وہ سننے والا جاننے والا ہے |

| 6. | وَمَن جَاهَدَ فَإِنَّمَا يُجَاهِدُ لِنَفْسِهِ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَغَنِيٌّ عَنِ الْعَالَمِينَ |
| Transliteration: | Waman jahada fainnama yujahidu linafsihi inna Allaha laghaniyyun AAani alAAalameena |
| Yusuf Ali: | And if any strive (with might and main), they do so for their own souls: for Allah is free of all needs from all creation. |
| Shakir: | And whoever strives hard, he strives only for his own soul; most surely Allah is Self-sufficient, above (need of) the worlds. |
| Pickthall: | And whosoever striveth, striveth only for himself, for lo! Allah is altogether Independent of (His) creatures. |
| Mohsin Khan: | And whosoever strives, he strives only for himself. Verily, Allah stands not in need of any of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinn, and all that exists). |
| French: | Et quiconque lutte, ne lutte que pour lui-même, car Allah peut Se passer de tout l'univers. |
| Spanish: | Quien combate por Alá combate, en realidad, en provecho propio. Alá, ciertamente, puede prescindir de las criaturas. |
| Indonesian: | Dan barangsiapa yang berjihad, maka sesungguhnya jihadnya itu adalah untuk dirinya sendiri. Sesungguhnya Allah benar-benar Maha Kaya (tidak memerlukan sesuatu) dari semesta alam.

| Malay:: | Dan sesiapa yang berjuang (menegakkan Islam) maka sesungguhnya dia hanyalah berjuang untuk kebaikan dirinya sendiri; sesungguhnya Allah Maha Kaya (tidak berhajatkan sesuatupun) daripada sekalian makhluk.
|
| German: | Und wer sich abmüht, der müht sich nur zu seinem eigenen Vorteil ab, denn Allah ist der Weltenbewohner fürwahr unbedürftig. |
| Russian: | Тот, кто сражается, сражается во благо себе. Воистину, Аллах не нуждается в мирах! |
| Bosnian: | A onaj ko se bori – bori se samo za sebe, jer Allah sigurno može bez svih svjetova biti. |
| Urdu: | اور جو شخص کوشش کرتا ہے تو اپنے ہی بھلے کے لیے کرتا ہے بے شک الله سارے جہان سے بے نیاز ہے |

| 7. | وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَنُكَفِّرَنَّ عَنْهُمْ سَيِّئَاتِهِمْ وَلَنَجْزِيَنَّهُمْ أَحْسَنَ الَّذِي كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Waallatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati lanukaffiranna AAanhum sayyiatihim walanajziyannahum ahsana allathee kanoo yaAAmaloona |
| Yusuf Ali: | Those who believe and work righteous deeds,- from them shall We blot out all evil (that may be) in them, and We shall reward them according to the best of their deeds. |
| Shakir: | And (as for) those who believe and do good, We will most certainly do away with their evil deeds and We will most certainly reward them the best of what they did. |
| Pickthall: | And as for those who believe and do good works, We shall remit from them their evil deeds and shall repay them the best that they did. |
| Mohsin Khan: | Those who believe [in the Oneness of Allah (Monotheism) and in Messenger Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم , and do not give up their faith because of the harm they receive from the polytheists], and do righteous good deeds, surely, We shall expiate from them their evil deeds and shall reward them according to the best of that which they used to do. |
| French: | Et quant à ceux qui croient et font de bonnes œuvres, Nous leur effacerons leurs méfaits, et Nous les rétribuerons de la meilleure récompense pour ce qu'ils auront accompli. |
| Spanish: | A quienes hayan creído y obrado bien les borraremos, sí, sus malas obras y les retribuiremos, sí, con arreglo a sus mejores obras. |
| Indonesian: | Dan orang-orang yang beriman dan beramal saleh, benar-benar akan Kami hapuskan dari mereka dosa-dosa mereka dan benar-benar akan Kami beri mereka balasan yang lebih baik dari apa yang mereka kerjakan.

| Malay:: | Dan orang-orang yang beriman serta beramal soleh sesungguhnya Kami akan hapuskan dari mereka kesalahan-kesalahan mereka dan Kami akan membalas apa yang mereka telah kerjakan dengan sebaik-baik balasan.

| German: | Denjenigen, die glauben und rechtschaffene Werke tun, werden Wir ganz gewiß ihre bösen Taten tilgen und ihnen ganz gewiß das Beste vergelten von dem, was sie taten. |
| Russian: | Тем, которые уверовали и совершали праведные деяния, Мы простим их злодеяния и воздадим за наилучшее из того, что они совершали (или лучшим, чем то, что они совершали; или наилучшим образом за то, что они совершали). |
| Bosnian: | Onima koji vjeruju i dobra djela čine preći ćemo, sigurno, preko hrđavih postupaka njihovih, i za ono što su radili doista ćemo ih najljepšom nagradom nagraditi. |
| Urdu: | اور جو لوگ ایمان لائے اور نیک کام کیے ہم ان کے گناہوں کو ان سے دور کردیں گےاور انہیں ان کے اعمال کا بہت اچھا بدلہ دیں گے |

| 8. | وَوَصَّيْنَا الْإِنسَانَ بِوَالِدَيْهِ حُسْنًا ۖ وَإِن جَاهَدَاكَ لِتُشْرِكَ بِي مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ بِهِ عِلْمٌ فَلَا تُطِعْهُمَا ۚ إِلَيَّ مَرْجِعُكُمْ فَأُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Wawassayna alinsana biwalidayhi husnan wain jahadaka litushrika bee ma laysa laka bihi AAilmun fala tutiAAhuma ilayya marjiAAukum faonabbiokum bima kuntum taAAmaloona |
| Yusuf Ali: | We have enjoined on man kindness to parents: but if they (either of them) strive (to force) thee to join with Me (in worship) anything of which thou hast no knowledge, obey them not. Ye have (all) to return to me, and I will tell you (the truth) of all that ye did. |
| Shakir: | And We have enjoined on man goodness to his parents, and if they contend with you that you should associate (others) with Me, of which you have no knowledge, do not obey them, to Me is your return, so I will inform you of what you did. |
| Pickthall: | We have enjoined on man kindness to parents; but if they strive to make thee join with Me that of which thou hast no knowledge, then obey them not. Unto Me is your return and I shall tell you what ye used to do. |
| Mohsin Khan: | And We have enjoined on man to be good and dutiful to his parents; but if they strive to make you join with Me (in worship) anything (as a partner) of which you have no knowledge, then obey them not. Unto Me is your return and I shall tell you what you used to do. |
| French: | Et Nous avons enjoint à l'homme de bien traiter ses père et mère, et «si ceux-ci te forcent à M'associer, ce dont tu n'as aucun savoir, alors ne leur obéis pas». Vers Moi est votre retour, et alors Je vous informerai de ce que vous faisiez. |
| Spanish: | Hemos ordenado al hombre que se porte bien con sus padres. Pero si éstos te insisten en que Me asocies algo de lo que no tienes conocimiento, ¡no les obedezcas! Volveréis a Mí y ya os informaré de lo que hacíais. |
| Indonesian: | Dan Kami wajibkan manusia (berbuat) kebaikan kepada dua orang ibu-bapaknya. Dan jika keduanya memaksamu untuk mempersekutukan Aku dengan sesuatu yang tidak ada pengetahuanmu tentang itu, maka janganlah kamu mengikuti keduanya. Hanya kepada-Ku-lah kembalimu, lalu Aku kabarkan kepadamu apa yang telah kamu kerjakan.

| Malay:: | Dan Kami wajibkan manusia berbuat baik kepada kedua ibu bapanya dan jika mereka berdua mendesakmu supaya engkau mempersekutukan Daku (dalam ibadatmu) dengan sesuatu yang engkau tidak mempunyai pengetahuan mengenainya, maka janganlah engkau taat kepada mereka. Kepada Akulah tempat kembali kamu semuanya, kemudian Aku akan menerangkan kepada kamu segala yang kamu telah kerjakan.

| German: | Und Wir haben dem Menschen anbefohlen, seine Eltern mit Güte zu behandeln. Wenn sie sich aber darum bemühen, daß Du Mir das beigesellst, wovon du kein Wissen hast, dann gehorche ihnen nicht. Zu Mir wird eure Rückkehr sein, da werde Ich euch kundtun, was ihr zu tun pflegtet. |
| Russian: | Мы заповедали человеку быть добрым к родителям. А если они станут сражаться с тобой, чтобы ты приобщал ко мне сотоварищей, о которых ты ничего не знаешь, то не повинуйся им. Ко Мне предстоит ваше возвращение, и тогда Я поведаю вам о том, что вы совершали. |
| Bosnian: | Mi smo svakog čovjeka zadužili da bude dobar prema roditeljima svojim. Ali, ako te oni budu nagovarali da Meni nekoga ravnim smatraš, o kome ti ništa ne znaš, onda ih ne slušaj. Meni ćete se vratiti, pa ću vas Ja o onome što ste radili obavijestiti. |
| Urdu: | اور ہم نے انسان کو اپنے ماں باپ کے ساتھ اچھا سلوک کرنے کا حکم دیا ہے اور اگر وہ تجھے اس بات پر مجبور کریں کہ تو میرے ساتھ اسے شریک بنائے جسے تو جانتا بھی نہیں تو ان کا کہنا نہ مان تم سب نے لوٹ کرمیرے ہاں ہی آنا ہے تب میں تمہیں بتا دوں گا جو کچھ تم کرتے تھے |

| 9. | وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَنُدْخِلَنَّهُمْ فِي الصَّالِحِينَ |
| Transliteration: | Waallatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati lanudkhilannahum fee alssaliheena |
| Yusuf Ali: | And those who believe and work righteous deeds,- them shall We admit to the company of the Righteous. |
| Shakir: | And (as for) those who believe and do good, We will most surely cause them to enter among the good. |
| Pickthall: | And as for those who believe and do good works, We verily shall make them enter in among the righteous. |
| Mohsin Khan: | And for those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah and the other articles of Faith) and do righteous good deeds, surely, We shall make them enter with (in the entrance of) the righteous (in Paradise). |
| French: | Et quant à ceux qui croient et font de bonnes œuvres, Nous les ferons certainement entrer parmi les gens de bien. |
| Spanish: | A quienes hayan creído y obrado bien hemos de hacer que entren a formar parte de los justos. |
| Indonesian: | Dan orang-orang yang beriman dan mengerjakan amal saleh benar-benar akan Kami masukkan mereka ke dalam (golongan) orang-orang yang saleh.
|
| Malay:: | Dan orang-orang yang beriman serta beramal soleh, sudah tentu Kami akan masukkan mereka dalam kumpulan orang-orang yang soleh (dengan mendapat sebaik-baik balasan).
|
| German: | Diejenigen, die glauben und rechtschaffene Werke tun, lassen Wir in die Reihen der Rechtschaffenen eingehen. |
| Russian: | А тех, которые уверовали и совершали праведные деяния, Мы введем в Рай вместе с праведниками. |
| Bosnian: | One koji vjeruju i dobra djela čine sigurno ćemo među one koji su dobri uvrstiti. |
| Urdu: | اور جو لوگ ایمان لائے اور اچھے کام کیے ہم انہیں ضرور نیک بندوں میں داخل کر یں گے |

| 10. | وَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَن يَقُولُ آمَنَّا بِاللَّهِ فَإِذَا أُوذِيَ فِي اللَّهِ جَعَلَ فِتْنَةَ النَّاسِ كَعَذَابِ اللَّهِ وَلَئِن جَاءَ نَصْرٌ مِّن رَّبِّكَ لَيَقُولُنَّ إِنَّا كُنَّا مَعَكُمْ ۚ أَوَلَيْسَ اللَّهُ بِأَعْلَمَ بِمَا فِي صُدُورِ الْعَالَمِينَ |
| Transliteration: | Wamina alnnasi man yaqoolu amanna biAllahi faitha oothiya fee Allahi jaAAala fitnata alnnasi kaAAathabi Allahi walain jaa nasrun min rabbika layaqoolunna inna kunna maAAakum awalaysa Allahu biaAAlama bima fee sudoori alAAalameena |
| Yusuf Ali: | Then there are among men such as say, "We believe in Allah"; but when they suffer affliction in (the cause of) Allah, they treat men's oppression as if it were the Wrath of Allah! And if help comes (to thee) from thy Lord, they are sure to say, "We have (always) been with you!" Does not Allah know best all that is in the hearts of all creation? |
| Shakir: | And among men is he who says: We believe in Allah; but when he is persecuted in (the way of) Allah he thinks the persecution of men to be as the chastisement of Allah; and if there come assistance from your Lord, they would most certainly say: Surely we were with you. What! is not Allah the best knower of what is in the breasts of mankind. |
| Pickthall: | Of mankind is he who saith: We believe in Allah, but, if he be made to suffer for the sake of Allah, he mistaketh the persecution of mankind for Allah's punishment; and then, if victory cometh from thy Lord, will say: Lo! we were with you (all the while). Is not Allah Best Aware of what is in the bosoms of (His) creatures? |
| Mohsin Khan: | Of mankind are some who say: "We believe in Allah." But if they are made to suffer for the sake of Allah, they consider the trial of mankind as Allah's punishment; and if victory comes from your Lord, (the hypocrites) will say: "Verily we were with you (helping you)." Is not Allah Best Aware of what is in the breasts of the 'Alamin (mankind and jinn). |
| French: | Parmi les gens il en est qui disent: «Nous croyons en Allah» puis, si on les fait souffrir pour la cause d'Allah, ils considèrent l'épreuve de la part des hommes comme un châtiment d'Allah. Or, s'il vient du secours de ton Seigneur, ils diront certes: «Nous étions avec vous!» Allah n'est-Il pas le meilleur à savoir ce qu'il y a dans les poitrines de tout le monde? |
| Spanish: | Hay algunos que dicen: «¡Creemos en Alá!» Pero, en cuanto sufren algo por Alá, toman la prueba a que los hombres les somenten como castigo de Alá. Si, en cambio, tu Señor les auxilia, seguro que dicen: «¡Estábamos con vosotros!» ¿Es que Alá no sabe bien lo que hay en los pechos de la Humanidad? |
| Indonesian: | Dan di antara manusia ada orang yang berkata: "Kami beriman kepada Allah", maka apabila ia disakiti (karena ia beriman) kepada Allah, ia menganggap fitnah manusia itu sebagai azab Allah . Dan sungguh jika datang pertolongan dari Tuhanmu, mereka pasti akan berkata: "Sesungguhnya kami adalah besertamu." Bukankah Allah lebih mengetahui apa yang ada dalam dada semua manusia?

| Malay:: | Dan ada sebahagian dari manusia yang berkata: Kami beriman kepada Allah; kemudian apabila dia diganggu dan disakiti pada jalan Allah, dia jadikan gangguan manusia itu seperti azab seksa Allah (lalu dia taatkan manusia) dan jika datang pertolongan dari Tuhanmu memberi kemenangan kepadamu, mereka sudah tentu akan berkata: Kami adalah sentiasa bersama-sama kamu. (Mengapa mereka berdusta?) Bukankah Allah lebih mengetahui akan apa yang terpendam dalam hati sekalian makhluk?

| German: | Und unter den Menschen gibt es manchen, der sagt: "Wir glauben an Allah." Wenn ihm aber um Allahs willen Leid zugefügt wird, setzt er die Anfechtung durch die Menschen der Strafe Allahs gleich. Wenn jedoch Hilfe von deinem Herrn kommt, sagen sie ganz gewiß: "Wir sind ja mit euch gewesen." Weiß Allah denn nicht besser Bescheid über das, was'in den Brüsten der Weltenbewohner steckt? |
| Russian: | Среди людей есть такие, которые говорят: «Мы уверовали в Аллаха». Но стоит им пострадать ради Аллаха, как они сравнивают искушения (наказание) людей с мучениями от Аллаха. Если же явится победа от твоего Господа, то они непременно скажут: «Мы были вместе с вами». Но разве Аллаху не лучше знать, что таится в груди миров? |
| Bosnian: | Ima ljudi koji govore: "Vjerujemo u Allaha" – a kad neki Allaha radi bude na muke stavljen, on drži da je ljudsko mučenje isto što i Allahova kazna. A ako pobjeda dođe od Gospodara tvoga, sigurno će oni reći: "Bili smo uz vas!" A zar Allah ne zna dobro ono što je u grudima čijim? |
| Urdu: | اورکچھ ایسے لوگ بھی ہیں جو کہتے ہیں ہم الله پر ایمان لائے پھر جب انہیں الله کی راہ میں کوئی تکلیف پہنچتی ہے لوگوں کی تکلیف کو الله کے عذاب کے برابر سمجھتے ہیں اور اگر تیرے رب کی طرف سے مدد پہنچے تو کہتے ہیں ہم تو تمہارے ساتھ تھے اور کیا الله جہان والوں کے دلوں کی باتوں سے اچھی طرح واقف نہیں ہے |

| 11. | وَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ الْمُنَافِقِينَ |
| Transliteration: | WalayaAAlamanna Allahu allatheena amanoo walayaAAlamanna almunafiqeena |
| Yusuf Ali: | And Allah most certainly knows those who believe, and as certainly those who are Hypocrites. |
| Shakir: | And most certainly Allah will know those who believe and most certainly He will know the hypocrites. |
| Pickthall: | Verily Allah knoweth those who believe, and verily He knoweth the hypocrites. |
| Mohsin Khan: | Verily, Allah knows those who believe, and verily, He knows the hypocrites [i.e. Allah will test the people with good and hard days to discriminate the good from the wicked, although Allah knows all that before putting them to test]. |

| 12. | وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لِلَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اتَّبِعُوا سَبِيلَنَا وَلْنَحْمِلْ خَطَايَاكُمْ وَمَا هُم بِحَامِلِينَ مِنْ خَطَايَاهُم مِّن شَيْءٍ ۖ إِنَّهُمْ لَكَاذِبُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Waqala allatheena kafaroo lillatheena amanoo ittabiAAoo sabeelana walnahmil khatayakum wama hum bihamileena min khatayahum min shayin innahum lakathiboona |
| Yusuf Ali: | And the Unbelievers say to those who believe: "Follow our path, and we will bear (the consequences) of your faults." Never in the least will they bear their faults: in fact they are liars! |
| Shakir: | And those who disbelieve say to those who believe: Follow our path and we will bear your wrongs. And never shall they be the bearers of any of their wrongs; most surely they are liars. |
| Pickthall: | Those who disbelieve say unto those who believe: Follow our way (of religion) and we verily will bear your sins (for you). They cannot bear aught of their sins. Lo! they verily are liars. |

| 13. | وَلَيَحْمِلُنَّ أَثْقَالَهُمْ وَأَثْقَالًا مَّعَ أَثْقَالِهِمْ ۖ وَلَيُسْأَلُنَّ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ عَمَّا كَانُوا يَفْتَرُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Walayahmilunna athqalahum waathqalan maAAa athqalihim walayusalunna yawma alqiyamati AAamma kanoo yaftaroona |
| Yusuf Ali: | They will bear their own burdens, and (other) burdens along with their own, and on the Day of Judgments they will be called to account for their falsehoods. |
| Shakir: | And most certainly they shall carry their own burdens, and other burdens with their own burdens, and most certainly they shall be questioned on the resurrection day as to what they forged. |
| Pickthall: | But they verily will bear their own loads and other loads beside their own, and they verily will be questioned on the Day of Resurrection concerning that which they invented. |

| 14. | وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِ فَلَبِثَ فِيهِمْ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍ إِلَّا خَمْسِينَ عَامًا فَأَخَذَهُمُ الطُّوفَانُ وَهُمْ ظَالِمُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Walaqad arsalna noohan ila qawmihi falabitha feehim alfa sanatin illa khamseena AAaman faakhathahumu alttoofanu wahum thalimoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | We (once) sent Noah to his people, and he tarried among them a thousand years less fifty: but the Deluge overwhelmed them while they (persisted in) sin. |
| Shakir: | And certainly We sent Nuh to his people, so he remained among them a thousand years save fifty years. And the deluge overtook them, while they were unjust. |
| Pickthall: | And verily we sent Noah (as Our messenger) unto his folk, and he continued with them for a thousand years save fifty years; and the flood engulfed them, for they were wrong-doers. |
| Mohsin Khan: | And indeed We sent Nuh (Noah) to his people, and he stayed among them a thousand years less fifty years [inviting them to believe in the Oneness of Allah (Monotheism), and discard the false gods and other deities]; and the Deluge overtook them while they were Zalimun (wrong-doers, polytheists, disbelievers). |

| 15. | فَأَنجَيْنَاهُ وَأَصْحَابَ السَّفِينَةِ وَجَعَلْنَاهَا آيَةً لِّلْعَالَمِينَ |
| Transliteration: | Faanjaynahu waashaba alssafeenati wajaAAalnaha ayatan lilAAalameena |
| Yusuf Ali: | But We saved him and the companions of the Ark, and We made the (Ark) a Sign for all peoples! |
| Shakir: | So We delivered him and the inmates of the ark, and made it a sign to the nations. |
| Pickthall: | And We rescued him and those with him in the ship, and made of it a portent for the peoples. |
| Mohsin Khan: | Then We saved him and those with him in the ship, and made it (the ship) an Ayah (a lesson, a warning) for the 'Alamin (mankind, jinn and all that exists). |

| 16. | وَإِبْرَاهِيمَ إِذْ قَالَ لِقَوْمِهِ اعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ وَاتَّقُوهُ ۖ ذَٰلِكُمْ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Waibraheema ith qala liqawmihi oAAbudoo Allaha waittaqoohu thalikum khayrun lakum in kuntum taAAlamoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | And (We also saved) Abraham: behold, he said to his people, "Serve Allah and fear Him: that will be best for you- If ye understand! |
| Shakir: | And (We sent) Ibrahim, when he said to his people: Serve Allah and be careful of (your duty to) Him; this is best for you, if you did but know: |
| Pickthall: | And Abraham! (Remember) when he said unto his folk: Serve Allah, and keep your duty unto Him; that is better for you if ye did but know. |
| Mohsin Khan: | And (remember) Ibrahim (Abraham) when he said to his people: "Worship Allah (Alone), and fear Him: that is better for you if you did but know. |

| 17. | إِنَّمَا تَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ أَوْثَانًا وَتَخْلُقُونَ إِفْكًا ۚ إِنَّ الَّذِينَ تَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ لَا يَمْلِكُونَ لَكُمْ رِزْقًا فَابْتَغُوا عِندَ اللَّهِ الرِّزْقَ وَاعْبُدُوهُ وَاشْكُرُوا لَهُ ۖ إِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Innama taAAbudoona min dooni Allahi awthanan watakhluqoona ifkan inna allatheena taAAbudoona min dooni Allahi la yamlikoona lakum rizqan faibtaghoo AAinda Allahi alrrizqa waoAAbudoohu waoshkuroo lahu ilayhi turjaAAoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | "For ye do worship idols besides Allah, and ye invent falsehood. The things that ye worship besides Allah have no power to give you sustenance: then seek ye sustenance from Allah, serve Him, and be grateful to Him: to Him will be your return. |
| Shakir: | You only worship idols besides Allah and you create a lie surely they whom you serve besides Allah do not control for you any sustenance, therefore seek the sustenance from Allah and serve Him and be grateful to Him; to Him you shall be brought back. |
| Pickthall: | Ye serve instead of Allah only idols, and ye only invent a lie. Lo! those whom ye serve instead of Allah own no provision for you. So seek your provision from Allah, and serve Him, and give thanks unto Him, (for) unto Him ye will be brought back. |
| Mohsin Khan: | "You worship besides Allah only idols, and you only invent falsehood. Verily, those whom you worship besides Allah have no power to give you provision: so seek your provision from Allah (Alone), and worship Him (Alone), and be grateful to Him. To Him (Alone) you will be brought back. |
| French: | Vous n'adorez que des idoles, en dehors d'Allah, et vous forgez un mensonge. Ceux que vous adorez en dehors d'Allah ne possèdent aucun moyen pour vous procurer nourriture; recherchez votre subsistance auprès d'Allah. Adorez-Le et soyez-Lui reconnaissants. C'est à Lui que vous serez ramenés. |
| Spanish: | Servís, en lugar de servir a Alá, sólo ídolos, y creáis una mentira. Los que vosotros servís, en lugar de servir a Alá, no pueden procuraros sustento. ¡Buscad, pues, en Alá el sustento! ¡Servidle, dadle gracias! ¡A Él seréis devueltos! |
| Indonesian: | Sesungguhnya apa yang kamu sembah selain Allah itu adalah berhala, dan kamu membuat dusta . Sesungguhnya yang kamu sembah selain Allah itu tidak mampu memberikan rezki kepadamu; maka mintalah rezki itu di sisi Allah, dan sembahlah Dia dan bersyukurlah kepada-Nya. Hanya kepada-Nyalah kamu akan dikembalikan.

| Russian: | Вы поклоняетесь вместо Аллаха идолам и измышляете ложь. Воистину, те, кому вы поклоняетесь вместо Аллаха, не способны даровать вам пропитание. Ищите же пропитание у Аллаха, поклоняйтесь Ему и благодарите Его. К Нему вы будете возвращены». |

| Urdu: | تم الله کے سوا بتوں ہی کی عبادت کرتے ہو اور جھوٹ بناتے ہو جنہیں تم الله کے سوا پوجتے ہو وہ تمہاری روزی کے مالک نہیں سو تم الله ہی سے روزی مانگو اور اسی کی عبادت کرو اوراسی کا شکر کرو اسی کے پاس لوٹائے جاؤ گے |

| 18. | وَإِن تُكَذِّبُوا فَقَدْ كَذَّبَ أُمَمٌ مِّن قَبْلِكُمْ ۖ وَمَا عَلَى الرَّسُولِ إِلَّا الْبَلَاغُ الْمُبِينُ |
| Transliteration: | Wain tukaththiboo faqad kaththaba omamun min qablikum wama AAala alrrasooli illa albalaghu almubeenu |
| Yusuf Ali: | "And if ye reject (the Message), so did generations before you: and the duty of the messenger is only to preach publicly (and clearly)." |
| Shakir: | And if you reject (the truth), nations before you did indeed reject (the truth); and nothing is incumbent on the apostle but a plain delivering (of the message). |
| Pickthall: | But if ye deny, then nations have denied before you. The messenger is only to convey (the message) plainly. |
| Mohsin Khan: | "And if you deny, then nations before you have denied (their Messengers). And the duty of the Messenger is only to convey (the Message) plainly." |

| Indonesian: | Dan jika kamu (orang kafir) mendustakan, maka umat yang sebelum kamu juga telah mendustakan. Dan kewajiban rasul itu, tidak lain hanyalah menyampaikan (agama Allah) dengan seterang-terangnya."

| Malay:: | Dan jika kamu terus-menerus mendustakan (ajaran agama Allah yang aku sampaikan kepada kamu), maka sesungguhnya umat-umat yang sebelum kamu telah juga mendustakan (Rasul-rasulnya) dan (ingatlah) tugas Rasul hanya menyampaikan dengan penjelasan yang terang nyata.

| German: | Und wenn ihr (die Botschaft) für Lüge erklärt, so haben bereits vor euch (andere) Gemeinschaften (sie) für Lüge erklärt. Und dem Gesandten obliegt nur die deutliche Übermittlung (der Botschaft)." |
| Russian: | Если вы сочтете это ложью, то ведь до вас целые народы считали это ложью, но на Посланника возложена только ясная передача откровения. |

| 19. | أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا كَيْفَ يُبْدِئُ اللَّهُ الْخَلْقَ ثُمَّ يُعِيدُهُ ۚ إِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ عَلَى اللَّهِ يَسِيرٌ |
| Transliteration: | Awalam yaraw kayfa yubdio Allahu alkhalqa thumma yuAAeeduhu inna thalika AAala Allahi yaseerun |
| Yusuf Ali: | See they not how Allah originates creation, then repeats it: truly that is easy for Allah. |
| Shakir: | What! do they not consider how Allah originates the creation, then reproduces it? Surely that is easy to Allah. |
| Pickthall: | See they not how Allah produceth creation, then reproduceth it? Lo! for Allah that is easy. |
| Mohsin Khan: | See they not how Allah originates the creation, then repeats it. Verily, that is easy for Allah. |

| German: | Haben sie denn nicht gesehen, wie Allah die Schöpfung am Anfang macht und sie hierauf wiederholt? Gewiß, das ist für Allah ein leichtes. |
| Russian: | Неужели они не видят, как Аллах создает творение в первый раз, а затем воссоздает его. Воистину, это для Аллаха легко. |

| 20. | قُلْ سِيرُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ فَانظُرُوا كَيْفَ بَدَأَ الْخَلْقَ ۚ ثُمَّ اللَّهُ يُنشِئُ النَّشْأَةَ الْآخِرَةَ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ |
| Transliteration: | Qul seeroo fee alardi faonthuroo kayfa badaa alkhalqa thumma Allahu yunshio alnnashata alakhirata inna Allaha AAala kulli shayin qadeerun |
| Yusuf Ali: | Say: "Travel through the earth and see how Allah did originate creation; so will Allah produce a later creation: for Allah has power over all things. |
| Shakir: | Say: Travel in the earth and see how He makes the first creation, then Allah creates the latter creation; surely Allah has power over all things. |
| Pickthall: | Say (O Muhammad): Travel in the land and see how He originated creation, then Allah bringeth forth the later growth. Lo! Allah is Able to do all things. |
| Mohsin Khan: | Say: "Travel in the land and see how (Allah) originated the creation, and then Allah will bring forth the creation of the Hereafter (i.e. resurrection after death). Verily, Allah is Able to do all things." |

| 21. | يُعَذِّبُ مَن يَشَاءُ وَيَرْحَمُ مَن يَشَاءُ ۖ وَإِلَيْهِ تُقْلَبُونَ |
| Transliteration: | YuAAaththibu man yashao wayarhamu man yashao wailayhi tuqlaboona |
| Yusuf Ali: | "He punishes whom He pleases, and He grants Mercy to whom He pleases, and towards Him are ye turned. |
| Shakir: | He punishes whom He pleases and has mercy on whom He pleases, and to Him you shall be turned back. |
| Pickthall: | He punisheth whom He will and showeth mercy unto whom He will, and unto Him ye will be turned. |
| Mohsin Khan: | He punishes whom He wills, and shows mercy to whom He wills; and to Him you will be returned. |

| 22. | وَمَا أَنتُم بِمُعْجِزِينَ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاءِ ۖ وَمَا لَكُم مِّن دُونِ اللَّهِ مِن وَلِيٍّ وَلَا نَصِيرٍ |
| Transliteration: | Wama antum bimuAAjizeena fee alardi wala fee alssamai wama lakum min dooni Allahi min waliyyin wala naseerin |
| Yusuf Ali: | "Not on earth nor in heaven will ye be able (fleeing) to frustrate (his Plan), nor have ye, besides Allah, any protector or helper." |
| Shakir: | And you shall not escape in the earth nor in the heaven, and you have neither a protector nor a helper besides Allah. |
| Pickthall: | Ye cannot escape (from Him) in the earth or in the sky, and beside Allah there is for you no friend or helper. |
| Mohsin Khan: | And you cannot escape in the earth or in the heaven (from Allah). And besides Allah you have neither any Wali (Protector or Guardian) nor any Helper. |
| French: | Et vous ne pourrez vous opposer à Sa puissance ni sur terre, ni au ciel; et il n'y a pas pour vous, en dehors d'Allah, ni allié ni secoureur. |

| Indonesian: | Dan kamu sekali-kali tidak dapat melepaskan diri (dari azab Allah) di bumi dan tidak (pula) di langit dan sekali-kali tiadalah bagimu pelindung dan penolong selain Allah.

| Malay:: | Dan kamu tidak akan dapat melepaskan diri (dari kekuasaan Allah) di bumi dan tidak juga di langit (sekalipun) dan kamu tidak akan mendapat sebarang pelindung dan penolong yang lain dari Allah.

| German: | Und ihr werdet euch (Ihm) weder auf der Erde noch im Himmel entziehen können, und ihr habt außer Allah weder Schutzherrn noch Helfer. |
| Russian: | Вы не сможете сбежать ни на земле, ни на небе, и не будет у вас покровителей и помощников помимо Аллаха». |
| Bosnian: | Njegovoj kazni nećete umaći ni na Zemlji ni na nebu, a nemate, mimo Allaha, ni zaštitnika ni pomagača. |
| Urdu: | اور تم زمین اور آسمان میں عاجز نہیں کر سکتے اور الله کےسوا تمہارا کوئی دوست اور مددگار نہیں ہے |

| 23. | وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا بِآيَاتِ اللَّهِ وَلِقَائِهِ أُولَـٰئِكَ يَئِسُوا مِن رَّحْمَتِي وَأُولَـٰئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ |
| Transliteration: | Waallatheena kafaroo biayati Allahi waliqaihi olaika yaisoo min rahmatee waolaika lahum AAathabun aleemun |
| Yusuf Ali: | Those who reject the Signs of Allah and the Meeting with Him (in the Hereafter),- it is they who shall despair of My Mercy: it is they who will (suffer) a most grievous Penalty. |
| Shakir: | And (as to) those who disbelieve in the communications of Allah and His meeting, they have despaired of My mercy, and these it is that shall have a painful punishment. |
| Pickthall: | Those who disbelieve in the revelations of Allah and in (their) Meeting with Him, such have no hope of My mercy. For such there is a painful doom. |
| Mohsin Khan: | And those who disbelieve in the Ayat (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of Allah and the Meeting with Him, it is they who have no hope of My Mercy: and it is they who will have a painful torment. |
| French: | Et ceux qui ne croient pas aux versets d'Allah et à Sa rencontre, désespèrent de Ma miséricorde. Et ceux-là auront un châtiment douloureux. |
| Spanish: | Quienes no crean en los signos de Alá y en que Le encontrarán, ésos son quienes desesperarán de Mi misericordia, ésos son quienes sufrirán un castigo doloroso. |
| Indonesian: | Dan orang-orang yang kafir kepada ayat-ayat Allah dan pertemuan dengan Dia, mereka putus asa dari rahmat-Ku, dan mereka itu mendapat azab yang pedih.

| Malay:: | Dan orang-orang yang kufur ingkar akan ayat-ayat keterangan Allah dan pertemuan denganNya, mereka tetaplah akan menjadi orang-orang yang putus asa dari rahmatKu; dan mereka pula akan beroleh azab seksa yang tidak terperi sakitnya.

| German: | Diejenigen, die Allahs Zeichen und die Begegnung mit Ihm ableugnen, diese haben die Hoffnung auf Meine Barmherzigkeit aufgegeben, und für diese wird es schmerzhafte Strafe geben. |
| Russian: | Те, которые не веруют в знамения Аллаха и во встречу с Ним, потеряли надежду на Мою милость. Именно им уготованы мучительные страдания. |
| Bosnian: | A onima koji neće da vjeruju u Allahove dokaze i u susret s Njime, njima nije stalo do Moje milosti – njih čeka patnja nesnosna." |
| Urdu: | اور جن لوگو ں نے الله کی آیتوں اور اس کے ملنے سے انکار کیا وہ میری رحمت سے نا امید ہو گئے ہیں اور ان کے لیے دردناک عذاب ہے |

| 24. | فَمَا كَانَ جَوَابَ قَوْمِهِ إِلَّا أَن قَالُوا اقْتُلُوهُ أَوْ حَرِّقُوهُ فَأَنجَاهُ اللَّهُ مِنَ النَّارِ ۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Fama kana jawaba qawmihi illa an qaloo oqtuloohu aw harriqoohu faanjahu Allahu mina alnnari inna fee thalika laayatin liqawmin yuminoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | So naught was the answer of (Abraham's) people except that they said: "Slay him or burn him." But Allah did save him from the Fire. Verily in this are Signs for people who believe. |
| Shakir: | So naught was the answer of his people except that they said: Slay him or burn him; then Allah delivered him from the fire; most surely there are signs in this for a people who believe. |
| Pickthall: | But the answer of his folk was only that they said: "Kill him" or "Burn him." Then Allah saved him from the Fire. Lo! herein verily are portents for folk who believe. |
| Mohsin Khan: | So nothing was the answer of [Ibrahim's (Abraham)] people except that they said: "Kill him or burn him." Then Allah saved him from the fire. Verily, in this are indeed signs for a people who believe. |
| French: | Son peuple ne fit d'autre réponse que: «tuez-le ou brûlez-le». Mais Allah le sauva du feu. C'est bien là des signes pour des gens qui croient. |
| Spanish: | Lo único que respondió su pueblo fue: «¡Matadle o quemadle!» Pero Alá le libró del fuego. Ciertamente hay en ello signos para gente que cree. |
| Indonesian: | Maka tidak adalah jawaban kaum Ibrahim, selain mengatakan: "Bunuhlah atau bakarlah dia", lalu Allah menyelamatkannya dari api. Sesungguhnya pada yang demikian itu benar-benar terdapat tanda-tanda kebesaran Allah bagi orang-orang yang beriman.

| Malay:: | Kemudian, seruan Nabi Ibrahim tidak dijawab oleh kaumnya melainkan dengan kata-kata (tentangan yang keras): Bunuhlah dia atau bakarlah dia. Maka Allah selamatkan Nabi Ibrahim dari api (yang disediakan oleh kaumnya). Sesungguhnya peristiwa yang demikian, mengandungi tanda-tanda (yang membuktikan kekuasaan Allah) bagi kaum yang (mahu) beriman.

| German: | Aber die Antwort seines Volkes war nur, daß sie sagten: "Tötet ihn oder verbrennt ihn." Da rettete Allah ihn aus dem Feuer. Darin sind wahrlich Zeichen für Leute, die glauben. |
| Russian: | В ответ его народ лишь сказал: «Убейте его или сожгите!». Но Аллах спас его из огня. Воистину, в этом - знамения для верующих людей. |
| Bosnian: | Odgovor naroda njegova bijaše: "Ubijte ga ili spalite!" – ali, Allah ga je iz vatre izbavio. To su, uistinu, dokazi za narod koji vjeruje. |
| Urdu: | پھر اس کی قوم کا اس کے سوا اور کوئی جواب نہ تھا کہ اسے مار ڈالو یا جلا ڈالو پھر الله نے اسے آگ سے نجات دی بے شک اس میں ان کے لیے نشانیاں ہیں جو ایماندار ہیں |

| 25. | وَقَالَ إِنَّمَا اتَّخَذْتُم مِّن دُونِ اللَّهِ أَوْثَانًا مَّوَدَّةَ بَيْنِكُمْ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا ۖ ثُمَّ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ يَكْفُرُ بَعْضُكُم بِبَعْضٍ وَيَلْعَنُ بَعْضُكُم بَعْضًا وَمَأْوَاكُمُ النَّارُ وَمَا لَكُم مِّن نَّاصِرِينَ |
| Transliteration: | Waqala innama ittakhathtum min dooni Allahi awthanan mawaddata baynikum fee alhayati alddunya thumma yawma alqiyamati yakfuru baAAdukum bibaAAdin wayalAAanu baAAdukum baAAdan wamawakumu alnnaru wama lakum min nasireena |
| Yusuf Ali: | And he said: "For you, ye have taken (for worship) idols besides Allah, out of mutual love and regard between yourselves in this life; but on the Day of Judgment ye shall disown each other and curse each other: and your abode will be the Fire, and ye shall have none to help." |
| Shakir: | And he said: You have only taken for yourselves idols besides Allah by way of friendship between you in this world's life, then on the resurrection day some of you shall deny others, and some of you shall curse others, and your abode is the fire, and you shall not have any helpers. |
| Pickthall: | He said: Ye have chosen only idols instead of Allah. The love between you is only in the life of the world. Then on the Day of Resurrection ye will deny each other and curse each other, and your abode will be the Fire, and ye will have no helpers. |
| Mohsin Khan: | And [Ibrahim (Abraham)] said: "You have taken (for worship) idols instead of Allah. The love between you is only in the life of this world, but on the Day of Resurrection, you shall disown each other, and curse each other, and your abode will be the Fire, and you shall have no helper." |
| French: | Et [Abraham] dit: «En effet, c'est pour cimenter des liens entre vous-mêmes dans la vie présente, que vous avez adopté des idoles, en dehors d'Allah. Ensuite, le Jour de la Résurrection, les uns rejetteront les autres, et les uns maudiront les autres, tandis que vous aurez le Feu pour refuge, n'aurez pas de protecteurs. |
| Spanish: | Dijo: «Habéis tomado ídolos en lugar de tomar a Alá, sólo por el afecto mutuo que os tenéis en la vida de acá. Luego, el día de la Resurrección, renegaréis unos de otros y os maldeciréis mutuamente. Vuestra morada será el Fuego y no tendréis quien os auxilie». |
| Indonesian: | Dan berkata Ibrahim: "Sesungguhnya berhala-berhala yang kamu sembah selain Allah adalah untuk menciptakan perasaan kasih sayang di antara kamu dalam kehidupan dunia ini kemudian di hari kiamat sebahagian kamu mengingkari sebahagian (yang lain) dan sebahagian kamu mela'nati sebahagian (yang lain); dan tempat kembalimu ialah neraka, dan sekali-kali tak ada bagimu para penolongpun.

| Malay:: | Dan Nabi Ibrahim berkata pula (kepada kaumnya): Perbuatan kamu menyembah berbagai berhala, tidak menyembah Allah itu, hanyalah kerana menjaga hubungan kasih mesra di antara kamu masing-masing dalam kehidupan dunia ini; kemudian pada hari kiamat kelak setengah kamu akan membantah setengahnya yang lain dan setengah kamu pula akan melaknatkan setengahnya yang lain dan (kesudahannya) tempat kembali kamu ialah Neraka dan kamu tidak akan beroleh sesiapapun yang dapat memberikan pertolongan.

| German: | Und er sagte: "Ihr habt euch ja anstatt Allahs nur Götzen genommen aus Freundschaft zueinander im diesseitigen Leben. Aber dereinst, am Tag der Auferstehung, werdet ihr einander verleugnen und einander verfluchen. Euer Zufluchtsort ist das (Höllen)feuer, und ihr werdet keine Helfer haben." |
| Russian: | Он сказал: «Вы стали поклоняться идолам вместо Аллаха только из-за любви (или ради любви) друг к другу в мирской жизни. Но потом, в День воскресения, одни из вас станут отвергать и проклинать других. Вашим пристанищем будет Огонь, и не будет у вас защитников». |
| Bosnian: | "Vi ste" – reče on – "mimo Allaha kumire prihvatili da biste u životu na ovome svijetu međusobne prijateljske odnose održavali, a poslije, na Sudnjem danu, jedni drugih ćete se odricati i jedni druge ćete proklinjati, vatra će vaše boravište biti, i niko vam u pomoć neće moći priteći." |
| Urdu: | او رکہا تم الله کو چھوڑ کر بتوں کو لیے بیٹھے ہو تمہاری آپس کی محبت دنیا کی زندگی میں ہے پھر قیامت کے دن ایک دوسرے کا انکار کرے گا اور ایک دوسرے پر لعنت کرے گا اور تمہارا ٹھکانہ آگ ہوگا اور تمہارے لیے کوئی بھی مددگار نہ ہوگا |

| 26. | ۞ فَآمَنَ لَهُ لُوطٌ ۘ وَقَالَ إِنِّي مُهَاجِرٌ إِلَىٰ رَبِّي ۖ إِنَّهُ هُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ |
| Transliteration: | Faamana lahu lootun waqala innee muhajirun ila rabbee innahu huwa alAAazeezu alhakeemu |
| Yusuf Ali: | But Lut had faith in Him: He said: "I will leave home for the sake of my Lord: for He is Exalted in Might, and Wise." |
| Shakir: | And Lut believed in Him, and he said: I am fleeing to my Lord, surely He is the Mighty, the Wise. |
| Pickthall: | And Lot believed him, and said: Lo! I am a fugitive unto my Lord. Lo! He, only He, is the Mighty, the Wise. |
| Mohsin Khan: | So Lut (Lot) believed in him [Ibrahim's (Abraham) Message of Islamic Monotheism]. He [Ibrahim (Abraham)] said: "I will emigrate for the sake of my Lord. Verily, He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise. " |
| French: | Lot crut en lui. Il dit: «Moi, j'émigre vers mon Seigneur, car c'est Lui le Tout Puissant, le Sage». |
| Spanish: | Lot creyó en Él y dijo: «Me refugio en mi Señor. Él es el Poderoso, el Sabio». |
| Indonesian: | Maka Luth membenarkan (kenabian) nya. Dan berkatalah Ibrahim: "Sesungguhnya aku akan berpindah ke (tempat yang diperintahkan) Tuhanku (kepadaku); sesungguhnya Dialah yang Maha Perkasa lagi Maha Bijaksana.

| 27. | وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُ إِسْحَاقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ وَجَعَلْنَا فِي ذُرِّيَّتِهِ النُّبُوَّةَ وَالْكِتَابَ وَآتَيْنَاهُ أَجْرَهُ فِي الدُّنْيَا ۖ وَإِنَّهُ فِي الْآخِرَةِ لَمِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ |
| Transliteration: | Wawahabna lahu ishaqa wayaAAqooba wajaAAalna fee thurriyyatihi alnnubuwwata waalkitaba waataynahu ajrahu fee alddunya wainnahu fee alakhirati lamina alssaliheena |
| Yusuf Ali: | And We gave (Abraham) Isaac and Jacob, and ordained among his progeny Prophethood and Revelation, and We granted him his reward in this life; and he was in the Hereafter (of the company) of the Righteous. |
| Shakir: | And We granted him Ishaq and Yaqoub, and caused the prophethood and the book to remain in his seed, and We gave him his reward in this world, and in the hereafter he will most surely be among the good. |
| Pickthall: | And We bestowed on him Isaac and Jacob, and We established the prophethood and the Scripture among his seed, and We gave him his reward in the world, and lo! in the Hereafter he verily is among the righteous. |
| Mohsin Khan: | And We bestowed on him [Ibrahim (Abraham)], Ishaq (Isaac) and Ya'qub (Jacob), and We ordained among his offspring Prophethood and the Book [i.e. the Taurat (Torah) (to Musa - Moses), the Injeel (Gospel) (to 'Îsa - Jesus), and the Qur'an (to Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم), all from the offspring of Ibrahim (Abraham)], and We granted him his reward in this world; and verily, in the Hereafter he is indeed among the righteous. |

| Indonesian: | Dan Kami anugrahkan kepada Ibrahim, Ishaq dan Ya'qub, dan Kami jadikan kenabian dan Al Kitab pada keturunannya, dan Kami berikan kepadanya balasannya di dunia; dan sesungguhnya dia di akhirat, benar-benar termasuk orang-orang yang saleh.

| 28. | وَلُوطًا إِذْ قَالَ لِقَوْمِهِ إِنَّكُمْ لَتَأْتُونَ الْفَاحِشَةَ مَا سَبَقَكُم بِهَا مِنْ أَحَدٍ مِّنَ الْعَالَمِينَ |
| Transliteration: | Walootan ith qala liqawmihi innakum latatoona alfahishata ma sabaqakum biha min ahadin mina alAAalameena |
| Yusuf Ali: | And (remember) Lut: behold, he said to his people: "Ye do commit lewdness, such as no people in Creation (ever) committed before you. |
| Shakir: | And (We sent) Lut when he said to his people: Most surely you are guilty of an indecency which none of the nations has ever done before you; |
| Pickthall: | And Lot! (Remember) when he said unto his folk: Lo! ye commit lewdness such as no creature did before you. |
| Mohsin Khan: | And (remember) Lut (Lot), when he said to his people: "You commit Al-Fahishah (sodomy - the worst sin) which none has preceded you in (committing) it in the 'Alamin (mankind and jinn)." |

| 29. | أَئِنَّكُمْ لَتَأْتُونَ الرِّجَالَ وَتَقْطَعُونَ السَّبِيلَ وَتَأْتُونَ فِي نَادِيكُمُ الْمُنكَرَ ۖ فَمَا كَانَ جَوَابَ قَوْمِهِ إِلَّا أَن قَالُوا ائْتِنَا بِعَذَابِ اللَّهِ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ الصَّادِقِينَ |
| Transliteration: | Ainnakum latatoona alrrijala wataqtaAAoona alssabeela watatoona fee nadeekumu almunkara fama kana jawaba qawmihi illa an qaloo itina biAAathabi Allahi in kunta mina alssadiqeena |
| Yusuf Ali: | "Do ye indeed approach men, and cut off the highway?- and practise wickedness (even) in your councils?" But his people gave no answer but this: they said: "Bring us the Wrath of Allah if thou tellest the truth." |
| Shakir: | What! do you come to the males and commit robbery on the highway, and you commit evil deeds in your assemblies? But nothing was the answer of his people except that they said: Bring on us Allah's punishment, if you are one of the truthful. |
| Pickthall: | For come ye not in unto males, and cut ye not the road (for travellers), and commit ye not abomination in your meetings? But the answer of his folk was only that they said: Bring Allah's doom upon us if thou art a truthteller! |
| Mohsin Khan: | "Verily, you practise sodomy with men, and rob the wayfarer (travellers)! And practise Al-Munkar (disbelief and polytheism and every kind of evil wicked deed) in your meetings." But his people gave no answer except that they said: "Bring Allah's Torment upon us if you are one of the truthful." |
| French: | Aurez-vous commerce charnel avec des mâles? Pratiquerez-vous le brigandage? Commettrez-vous le blâmable dans votre assemblée?» Mais son peuple ne fit d'autre réponse que: «Fais que le châtiment d'Allah nous vienne, si tu es du nombre des véridiques». |
| Spanish: | ¿Os llegáis a los hombres, salteáis y cometéis actos reprobables en vuestras reuniones?». Lo único que respondió su pueblo fue: «¡Tráenos el castigo de Alá, si es verdad lo que dices!» |
| Indonesian: | Apakah sesungguhnya kamu patut mendatangi laki-laki, menyamun dan mengerjakan kemungkaran di tempat-tempat pertemuanmu? Maka jawaban kaumnya tidak lain hanya mengatakan: "Datangkanlah kepada kami azab Allah, jika kamu termasuk orang-orang yang benar".

Maka kaumnya tidak menjawab selain daripada berkata (secara mengejek-ejek): Datangkanlah kepada kami azab dari Allah (yang engkau janjikan itu) jika betul engkau dari orang-orang yang benar.

| 30. | قَالَ رَبِّ انصُرْنِي عَلَى الْقَوْمِ الْمُفْسِدِينَ |
| Transliteration: | Qala rabbi onsurnee AAala alqawmi almufsideena |
| Yusuf Ali: | He said: "O my Lord! help Thou me against people who do mischief!" |
| Shakir: | He said: My Lord! help me against the mischievous people. |
| Pickthall: | He said: My Lord! Give me victory over folk who work corruption. |
| Mohsin Khan: | He said: "My Lord! Give me victory over the people who are Mufsidun (those who commit great crimes and sins, oppressors, tyrants, mischief-makers, corrupters). |
| French: | Il dit: «Seigneur, donne-moi victoire sur ce peuple de corrupteurs!» |
| Spanish: | Dijo: «¡Señor! ¡Auxíliame contra el pueblo corruptor!» |

| 31. | وَلَمَّا جَاءَتْ رُسُلُنَا إِبْرَاهِيمَ بِالْبُشْرَىٰ قَالُوا إِنَّا مُهْلِكُو أَهْلِ هَـٰذِهِ الْقَرْيَةِ ۖ إِنَّ أَهْلَهَا كَانُوا ظَالِمِينَ |
| Transliteration: | Walamma jaat rusuluna ibraheema bialbushra qaloo inna muhlikoo ahli hathihi alqaryati inna ahlaha kanoo thalimeena |
| Yusuf Ali: | When Our Messengers came to Abraham with the good news, they said: "We are indeed going to destroy the people of this township: for truly they are (addicted to) crime." |
| Shakir: | And when Our apostles came to Ibrahim with the good news, they said: Surely we are going to destroy the people of this town, for its people are unjust. |
| Pickthall: | And when Our messengers brought Abraham the good news, they said: Lo! we are about to destroy the people of that township, for its people are wrong-doers. |
| Mohsin Khan: | And when Our Messengers came to Ibrahim (Abraham) with the glad tidings they said: "Verily, we are going to destroy the people of this [Lut (Lot's)] town (i.e. the town of Sodom in Palestine); truly, its people have been Zalimun [wrong-doers, polytheists disobedient to Allah, and who belied their Messenger Lut (Lot)]." |

| 32. | قَالَ إِنَّ فِيهَا لُوطًا ۚ قَالُوا نَحْنُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَن فِيهَا ۖ لَنُنَجِّيَنَّهُ وَأَهْلَهُ إِلَّا امْرَأَتَهُ كَانَتْ مِنَ الْغَابِرِينَ |
| Transliteration: | Qala inna feeha lootan qaloo nahnu aAAlamu biman feeha lanunajjiyannahu waahlahu illa imraatahu kanat mina alghabireena |
| Yusuf Ali: | He said: "But there is Lut there." They said: "Well do we know who is there: we will certainly save him and his following,- except his wife: she is of those who lag behind!" |
| Shakir: | He said: Surely in it is Lut. They said: We know well who is in it; we shall certainly deliver him and his followers, except his wife; she shall be of those who remain behind. |
| Pickthall: | He said: Lo! Lot is there. They said: We are best aware of who is there. We are to deliver him and his household, all save his wife, who is of those who stay behind. |
| Mohsin Khan: | Ibrahim (Abraham) said: "But there is Lut (Lot) in it." They said: "We know better who is there. We will verily save him [Lut (Lot)] and his family except his wife: she will be of those who remain behind (i.e. she will be destroyed along with those who will be destroyed from her folk)." |

| 33. | وَلَمَّا أَن جَاءَتْ رُسُلُنَا لُوطًا سِيءَ بِهِمْ وَضَاقَ بِهِمْ ذَرْعًا وَقَالُوا لَا تَخَفْ وَلَا تَحْزَنْ ۖ إِنَّا مُنَجُّوكَ وَأَهْلَكَ إِلَّا امْرَأَتَكَ كَانَتْ مِنَ الْغَابِرِينَ |
| Transliteration: | Walamma an jaat rusuluna lootan seea bihim wadaqa bihim tharAAan waqaloo la takhaf wala tahzan inna munajjooka waahlaka illa imraataka kanat mina alghabireena |
| Yusuf Ali: | And when Our Messengers came to Lut, he was grieved on their account, and felt himself powerless (to protect) them: but they said: "Fear thou not, nor grieve: we are (here) to save thee and thy following, except thy wife: she is of those who lag behind. |
| Shakir: | And when Our apostles came to Lut he was grieved on account of them, and he felt powerless (to protect) them; and they said: Fear not, nor grieve; surely we will deliver you and your followers, except your wife; she shall be of those who remain behind. |
| Pickthall: | And when Our messengers came unto Lot, he was troubled upon their account, for he could not protect them; but they said: Fear not, nor grieve! Lo! we are to deliver thee and thy household, (all) save thy wife, who is of those who stay behind. |
| Mohsin Khan: | And when Our Messengers came to Lut (Lot), he was grieved because of them, and felt straitened on their account. They said: "Have no fear, and do not grieve! Truly, we shall save you and your family, except your wife: she will be of those who remain behind (i.e. she will be destroyed along with those who will be destroyed from her folk). |

| Indonesian: | Dan tatkala datang utusan-utusan Kami (para malaikat) itu kepada Luth, dia merasa susah karena (kedatangan) mereka , dan (merasa) tidak mempunyai kekuatan untuk melindungi mereka dan mereka berkata: "Janganlah kamu takut dan jangan (pula) susah. Sesungguhnya kami akan menyelamatkan kamu dan pengikut-pengikutmu, kecuali isterimu, dia adalah termasuk orang-orang yang tertinggal (dibinasakan)."

| Malay:: | Dan ketika datang utusan-utusan Kami kepada Nabi Lut, dia merasa dukacita dengan kedatangan mereka dan merasa tidak terdaya untuk mengawal mereka (dari gangguan kaumnya) dan (setelah melihatkan halnya yang demikian), utusan-utusan itu berkata: Janganlah engkau takut dan janganlah berdukacita, sesungguhnya kami akan menyelamatkanmu dan keluargamu (serta pengikut-pengikutmu) kecuali isterimu, dia adalah dari orang-orang yang dibinasakan.

| German: | Und als nun Unsere Gesandten zu Lut kamen, geriet er ihretwegen in eine böse Lage und war durch ihre Anwesenheit beklommen. Sie sagten: "Fürchte dich nicht und sei nicht traurig, denn wir werden dich erretten, (dich) und deine Angehörigen, außer deiner Frau; sie gehört zu denjenigen, die zurückbleiben. |
| Russian: | Когда Наши посланцы прибыли к Луту (Лоту), он огорчился и почувствовал свое бессилие. Тогда они сказали: «Не бойся и не печалься! Мы спасем тебя и твою семью, кроме твоей жены, которая будет в числе оставшихся позади. |

| Urdu: | اور جب ہمارے بھیجے ہوئے لوط کے پاس آئے تو اسے ان کا آنا برا معلوم ہوا اور تنگدل ہوئے فرشتوں نے کہا خوف نہ کر اور غم نہ کھا بے شک ہم تجھے اور تیرے کنبہ کو بچا لیں گے مگرتیری بیوی پیچھے رہنے والوں میں ہوگی |

| 34. | إِنَّا مُنزِلُونَ عَلَىٰ أَهْلِ هَـٰذِهِ الْقَرْيَةِ رِجْزًا مِّنَ السَّمَاءِ بِمَا كَانُوا يَفْسُقُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Inna munziloona AAala ahli hathihi alqaryati rijzan mina alssamai bima kanoo yafsuqoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | "For we are going to bring down on the people of this township a Punishment from heaven, because they have been wickedly rebellious." |
| Shakir: | Surely We will cause to come down upon the people of this town a punishment from heaven, because they transgressed. |
| Pickthall: | Lo! We are about to bring down upon the folk of this township a fury from the sky because they are evil-livers. |
| Mohsin Khan: | "Verily, we are about to bring down on the people of this town a great torment from the sky, because they have been rebellious (against Allah's Command)." |

| 35. | وَلَقَد تَّرَكْنَا مِنْهَا آيَةً بَيِّنَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يَعْقِلُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Walaqad tarakna minha ayatan bayyinatan liqawmin yaAAqiloona |
| Yusuf Ali: | And We have left thereof an evident Sign, for any people who (care to) understand. |
| Shakir: | And certainly We have left a clear sign of it for a people who understand. |
| Pickthall: | And verily of that We have left a clear sign for people who have sense. |
| Mohsin Khan: | And indeed We have left thereof an evident Ayah (a lesson and a warning and a sign - the place where the Dead Sea is now in Palestine) for a folk who understand. |

| 36. | وَإِلَىٰ مَدْيَنَ أَخَاهُمْ شُعَيْبًا فَقَالَ يَا قَوْمِ اعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ وَارْجُوا الْيَوْمَ الْآخِرَ وَلَا تَعْثَوْا فِي الْأَرْضِ مُفْسِدِينَ |
| Transliteration: | Waila madyana akhahum shuAAayban faqala ya qawmi oAAbudoo Allaha waorjoo alyawma alakhira wala taAAthaw fee alardi mufsideena |
| Yusuf Ali: | To the Madyan (people) (We sent) their brother Shu'aib. Then he said: "O my people! serve Allah, and fear the Last Day: nor commit evil on the earth, with intent to do mischief." |
| Shakir: | And to Madyan (We sent) their brother Shuaib, so he said: O my people! serve Allah and fear the latter day and do not act corruptly in the land, making mischief. |
| Pickthall: | And unto Midian We sent Shu'eyb, their brother. He said: O my people! Serve Allah, and look forward to the Last Day, and do not evil, making mischief, in the earth. |

| 37. | فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ الرَّجْفَةُ فَأَصْبَحُوا فِي دَارِهِمْ جَاثِمِينَ |
| Transliteration: | Fakaththaboohu faakhathathumu alrrajfatu faasbahoo fee darihim jathimeena |
| Yusuf Ali: | But they rejected him: Then the mighty Blast seized them, and they lay prostrate in their homes by the morning. |
| Shakir: | But they rejected him, so a severe earthquake overtook them, and they became motionless bodies in their abode. |
| Pickthall: | But they denied him, and the dreadful earthquake took them, and morning found them prostrate in their dwelling place. |

| 38. | وَعَادًا وَثَمُودَ وَقَد تَّبَيَّنَ لَكُم مِّن مَّسَاكِنِهِمْ ۖ وَزَيَّنَ لَهُمُ الشَّيْطَانُ أَعْمَالَهُمْ فَصَدَّهُمْ عَنِ السَّبِيلِ وَكَانُوا مُسْتَبْصِرِينَ |
| Transliteration: | WaAAadan wathamooda waqad tabayyana lakum min masakinihim wazayyana lahumu alshshaytanu aAAmalahum fasaddahum AAani alssabeeli wakanoo mustabsireena |
| Yusuf Ali: | (Remember also) the 'Ad and the Thamud (people): clearly will appear to you from (the traces) of their buildings (their fate): the Evil One made their deeds alluring to them, and kept them back from the Path, though they were gifted with intelligence and skill. |
| Shakir: | And (We destroyed) Ad and Samood, and from their dwellings (this) is apparent to you indeed; and the Shaitan made their deeds fair-seeming to them, so he kept them back from the path, though they were endowed with intelligence and skill, |
| Pickthall: | And (the tribes of) A'ad and Thamud! (Their fate) is manifest unto you from their (ruined and deserted) dwellings. Satan made their deeds seem fair unto them and so debarred them from the Way, though they were keen observers. |

| 39. | وَقَارُونَ وَفِرْعَوْنَ وَهَامَانَ ۖ وَلَقَدْ جَاءَهُم مُّوسَىٰ بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ فَاسْتَكْبَرُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ وَمَا كَانُوا سَابِقِينَ |
| Transliteration: | Waqaroona wafirAAawna wahamana walaqad jaahum moosa bialbayyinati faistakbaroo fee alardi wama kanoo sabiqeena |
| Yusuf Ali: | (Remember also) Qarun, Pharaoh, and Haman: there came to them Moses with Clear Signs, but they behaved with insolence on the earth; yet they could not overreach (Us). |
| Shakir: | And (We destroyed) Qaroun and Firon and Haman; and certainly Musa came to them with clear arguments, but they behaved haughtily in the land; yet they could not outstrip (Us). |
| Pickthall: | And Korah, Pharaoh and Haman! Moses came unto them with clear proofs (of Allah's Sovereignty), but they were boastful in the land. And they were not winners (in the race). |
| Mohsin Khan: | And (We destroyed also) Qarun (Korah), Fir'aun (Pharaoh), and Haman. And indeed Musa (Moses) came to them with clear Ayat (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.), but they were arrogant in the land, yet they could not outstrip Us (escape Our punishment). |

| 40. | فَكُلًّا أَخَذْنَا بِذَنبِهِ ۖ فَمِنْهُم مَّنْ أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِ حَاصِبًا وَمِنْهُم مَّنْ أَخَذَتْهُ الصَّيْحَةُ وَمِنْهُم مَّنْ خَسَفْنَا بِهِ الْأَرْضَ وَمِنْهُم مَّنْ أَغْرَقْنَا ۚ وَمَا كَانَ اللَّهُ لِيَظْلِمَهُمْ وَلَـٰكِن كَانُوا أَنفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Fakullan akhathna bithanbihi faminhum man arsalna AAalayhi hasiban waminhum man akhathathu alssayhatu waminhum man khasafna bihi alarda waminhum man aghraqna wama kana Allahu liyathlimahum walakin kanoo anfusahum yathlimoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | Each one of them We seized for his crime: of them, against some We sent a violent tornado (with showers of stones); some were caught by a (mighty) Blast; some We caused the earth to swallow up; and some We drowned (in the waters): It was not Allah Who injured (or oppressed) them:" They injured (and oppressed) their own souls. |
| Shakir: | So each We punished for his sin; of them was he on whom We sent down a violent storm, and of them was he whom the rumbling overtook, and of them was he whom We made to be swallowed up by the earth, and of them was he whom We drowned; and it did not beseem Allah that He should be unjust to them, but they were unjust to their own souls. |
| Pickthall: | So We took each one in his sin; of them was he on whom We sent a hurricane, and of them was he who was overtaken by the (Awful) Cry, and of them was he whom We caused the earth to swallow, and of them was he whom We drowned. (as Thamud or Shu'aib's people)], and of them were some whom We caused the earth to swallow [as Qarun (Korah)], and of them were some whom We drowned [as the people of Nuh (Noah), or Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and his people]. It was not Allah Who wronged them, but they wronged themselves. |

Und nimmer ist es Allah, der ihnen Unrecht getan hat, sondern sie selbst haben sich Unrecht zugefügt. |

| 41. | مَثَلُ الَّذِينَ اتَّخَذُوا مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ أَوْلِيَاءَ كَمَثَلِ الْعَنكَبُوتِ اتَّخَذَتْ بَيْتًا ۖ وَإِنَّ أَوْهَنَ الْبُيُوتِ لَبَيْتُ الْعَنكَبُوتِ ۖ لَوْ كَانُوا يَعْلَمُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Mathalu allatheena ittakhathoo min dooni Allahi awliyaa kamathali alAAankabooti ittakhathat baytan wainna awhana albuyooti labaytu alAAankabooti law kanoo yaAAlamoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | The parable of those who take protectors other than Allah is that of the spider, who builds (to itself) a house; but truly the flimsiest of houses is the spider's house;- if they but knew. |
| Shakir: | The parable of those who take guardians besides Allah is as the parable of the spider that makes for itself a house; and most surely the frailest of the houses is the spider's house did they but know. |
| Pickthall: | The likeness of those who choose other patrons than Allah is as the likeness of the spider when she taketh unto herself a house, and lo! the frailest of all houses is the spider's house, if they but knew. |

| Malay:: | Misal bandingan orang-orang yang menjadikan benda-benda yang lain dari Allah sebagai pelindung-pelindung (yang diharapkan pertolongannya) adalah seperti labah-labah yang membuat sarang (untuk menjadi tempat perlindungannya); padahal sesungguhnya sarang-sarang yang paling reput ialah sarang labah-labah, kalaulah mereka orang-orang yang berpengetahuan.

| 42. | إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَعْلَمُ مَا يَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِهِ مِن شَيْءٍ ۚ وَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ |
| Transliteration: | Inna Allaha yaAAlamu ma yadAAoona min doonihi min shayin wahuwa alAAazeezu alhakeemu |
| Yusuf Ali: | Verily Allah doth know of (every thing) whatever that they call upon besides Him: and He is Exalted (in power), Wise. |
| Shakir: | Surely Allah knows whatever thing they call upon besides Him; and He is the Mighty, the Wise. |
| Pickthall: | Lo! Allah knoweth what thing they invoke instead of Him. He is the Mighty, the Wise. |
| Mohsin Khan: | Verily, Allah knows what things they invoke instead of Him. He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise. |

| German: | Gewiß, Allah weiß all das, was sie anstatt Seiner anrufen. Und Er ist der Allmächtige und Allweise. |
| Russian: | Воистину, Аллах знает всех тех, кому они поклоняются помимо Него (или знает, что те, кому они поклоняются помимо Него, являются ничем). Он - Могущественный, Мудрый. |
| Bosnian: | Allah dobro zna da ovi kojima se oni, pored Njega, klanjaju ništa ne predstavljaju; On je Silni i Mudri! |
| Urdu: | بےشک الله جانتا ہے جسے وہ اس کے سوا پکارتے ہیں اور وہ غالب حکمت والا ہے |

| 43. | وَتِلْكَ الْأَمْثَالُ نَضْرِبُهَا لِلنَّاسِ ۖ وَمَا يَعْقِلُهَا إِلَّا الْعَالِمُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Watilka alamthalu nadribuha lilnnasi wama yaAAqiluha illa alAAalimoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | And such are the Parables We set forth for mankind, but only those understand them who have knowledge. |
| Shakir: | And (as for) these examples, We set them forth for men, and none understand them but the learned. |
| Pickthall: | As for these similitudes, We coin them for mankind, but none will grasp their meaning save the wise. |
| Mohsin Khan: | And these similitudes We put forward for mankind; but none will understand them except those who have knowledge (of Allah and His Signs). |
| French: | Telles sont les paraboles que Nous citons aux gens; cependant, seuls les savants les comprennent. |
| Spanish: | Proponemos estas parábolas a los hombres, pero no las comprenden sino los que saben. |

| 44. | خَلَقَ اللَّهُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ بِالْحَقِّ ۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَةً لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ |
| Transliteration: | Khalaqa Allahu alssamawati waalarda bialhaqqi inna fee thalika laayatan lilmumineena |
| Yusuf Ali: | Allah created the heavens and the earth in true (proportions): verily in that is a Sign for those who believe. |
| Shakir: | Allah created the heavens and the earth with truth; most surely there is a sign in this for the believers. |
| Pickthall: | Allah created the heavens and the earth with truth. Lo! therein is indeed a portent for believers. |
| Mohsin Khan: | (Allah says to His Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم): "Allah (Alone) created the heavens and the earth with truth (and none shared Him in their creation)." Verily! Therein is surely a sign for those who believe. |
| French: | C'est pour une juste raison qu'Allah a créé les cieux et la terre. Voilà bien là une preuve pour les croyants. |
| Spanish: | Alá ha creado con un fin los cielos y la tierra. Ciertamente, hay en ello un signo para los creyentes. |
| Indonesian: | Allah menciptakan langit dan bumi dengan hak . Sesungguhnya pada yang demikian itu terdapat tanda-tanda kekuasaan Allah bagi orang-orang mu'min.

| 45. | اتْلُ مَا أُوحِيَ إِلَيْكَ مِنَ الْكِتَابِ وَأَقِمِ الصَّلَاةَ ۖ إِنَّ الصَّلَاةَ تَنْهَىٰ عَنِ الْفَحْشَاءِ وَالْمُنكَرِ ۗ وَلَذِكْرُ اللَّهِ أَكْبَرُ ۗ وَاللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ مَا تَصْنَعُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Otlu ma oohiya ilayka mina alkitabi waaqimi alssalata inna alssalata tanha AAani alfahshai waalmunkari walathikru Allahi akbaru waAllahu yaAAlamu ma tasnaAAoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | Recite what is sent of the Book by inspiration to thee, and establish regular Prayer: for Prayer restrains from shameful and unjust deeds; and remembrance of Allah is the greatest (thing in life) without doubt. And Allah knows the (deeds) that ye do. |
| Shakir: | Recite that which has been revealed to you of the Book and keep up prayer; surely prayer keeps (one) away from indecency and evil, and certainly the remembrance of Allah is the greatest, and Allah knows what you do. |
| Pickthall: | Recite that which hath been inspired in thee of the Scripture, and establish worship. Lo! worship preserveth from lewdness and iniquity, but verily remembrance of Allah is more important. And Allah knoweth what ye do. |
| Mohsin Khan: | Recite (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) what has been revealed to you of the Book (the Qur'an), and perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat). Verily, As-Salat (the prayer) prevents from Al-Fahsha' (i.e. great sins of every kind, unlawful sexual intercourse) and Al-Munkar (i.e. disbelief, polytheism, and every kind of evil wicked deed) and the remembering (praising) of (you by) Allah (in front of the angels) is greater indeed [than your remembering (praising) of Allah in prayers. And Allah knows what you do. |
| French: | Récite ce qui t'est révélé du Livre et accomplis la Salât. En vérité la Salât préserve de la turpitude et du blâmable. Le rappel d'Allah est certes ce qu'il y a de plus grand. Et Allah sait ce que vous faites. |
| Spanish: | ¡Recita lo que se te ha revelado de la Escritura ! ¡Haz la azalá! La azalá prohíbe la deshonestidad y lo reprobable. Pero el recuerdo de Alá es más importante aún. Alá sabe lo que hacéis. |
| Indonesian: | Bacalah apa yang telah diwahyukan kepadamu, yaitu Al Kitab (Al Qur'an) dan dirikanlah shalat. Sesungguhnya shalat itu mencegah dari (perbuatan-perbuatan) keji dan mungkar. Dan sesungguhnya mengingat Allah (shalat) adalah lebih besar (keutamaannya dari ibadat-ibadat yang lain). Dan Allah mengetahui apa yang kamu kerjakan.

| Malay:: | Bacalah serta ikutlah (wahai Muhammad) akan apa yang diwahyukan kepadamu dari Al-Quran dan dirikanlah sembahyang (dengan tekun); sesungguhnya sembahyang itu mencegah dari perbuatan yang keji dan mungkar dan sesungguhnya mengingati Allah adalah lebih besar (faedahnya dan kesannya) dan (ingatlah) Allah mengetahui akan apa yang kamu kerjakan.

| German: | Verlies, was dir vom Buch (als Offenbarung) eingegeben wird, und verrichte das Gebet. Gewiß, das Gebet hält davon ab, das Schändliche und das Verwerfliche (zu tun). Und das Gedenken Allahs ist wahrlich größer. Und Allah weiß, was ihr macht. |
| Russian: | Читай то, что внушено тебе из Писания, и совершай намаз. Воистину, намаз оберегает от мерзости и предосудительного. Но поминание Аллаха - гораздо важнее, и Аллах знает о том, что вы творите. |
| Bosnian: | Kazuj Knjigu koja ti se objavljuje i obavljaj molitvu, molitva, zaista, odvraća od razvrata i od svega što je ružno; obavljanje molitve je najveća poslušnost! – A Allah zna šta radite. |

| 46. | ۞ وَلَا تُجَادِلُوا أَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ إِلَّا بِالَّتِي هِيَ أَحْسَنُ إِلَّا الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا مِنْهُمْ ۖ وَقُولُوا آمَنَّا بِالَّذِي أُنزِلَ إِلَيْنَا وَأُنزِلَ إِلَيْكُمْ وَإِلَـٰهُنَا وَإِلَـٰهُكُمْ وَاحِدٌ وَنَحْنُ لَهُ مُسْلِمُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Wala tujadiloo ahla alkitabi illa biallatee hiya ahsanu illa allatheena thalamoo minhum waqooloo amanna biallathee onzila ilayna waonzila ilaykum wailahuna wailahukum wahidun wanahnu lahu muslimoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | And dispute ye not with the People of the Book, except with means better (than mere disputation), unless it be with those of them who inflict wrong (and injury): but say, "We believe in the revelation which has come down to us and in that which came down to you; Our Allah and your Allah is one; and it is to Him we bow (in Islam)." |
| Shakir: | And do not dispute with the followers of the Book except by what is best, except those of them who act unjustly, and say: We believe in that which has been revealed to us and revealed to you, and our Allah and your Allah is One, and to Him do we submit. |
| Pickthall: | And argue not with the People of the Scripture unless it be in (a way) that is better, save with such of them as do wrong; and say: We believe in that which hath been revealed unto us and revealed unto you; our Allah and your Allah is One, and unto Him we surrender. |
| Mohsin Khan: | And argue not with the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians), unless it be in (a way) that is better (with good words and in good manner, inviting them to Islamic Monotheism with His Verses), except with such of them as do wrong; and say (to them): "We believe in that which has been revealed to us and revealed to you; our Ilah (God) and your Ilah (God) is One (i.e. Allah), and to Him we have submitted (as Muslims)." |
| French: | Et ne discutez que de la meilleure façon avec les gens du Livre, sauf ceux d'entre eux qui sont injustes. Et dites: «Nous croyons en ce qu'on a fait descendre vers nous et descendre vers vous, tandis que notre Dieu et votre Dieu est le même, et c'est à Lui que nous nous soumettons». |
| Spanish: | No discutáis sino con buenos modales con la gente de la Escritura, excepto con los que hayan obrado impíamente. Y decid: «Creemos en lo que se nos ha revelado a nosotros y en lo que se os ha revelado a vosotros. Nuestro Dios y vuestro Dios es Uno. Y nos sometemos a él». |
| Indonesian: | Dan janganlah kamu berdebat dengan Ahli Kitab, melainkan dengan cara yang paling baik, kecuali dengan orang-orang zalim , di antara mereka, dan katakanlah: "Kami telah beriman kepada (kitab-kitab) yang diturunkan kepada kami dan yang diturunkan kepadamu; Tuhan kami dan Tuhanmu adalah satu; dan kami hanya kepada-Nya berserah diri".

| Russian: | Если вступаете в спор с людьми Писания, то ведите его наилучшим образом. Это не относится к тем из них, которые поступают несправедливо. Скажите: «Мы уверовали в то, что ниспослано нам, и то, что ниспослано вам. Наш Бог и ваш Бог - один, и мы покоряемся только Ему». |
| Bosnian: | I sa sljedbenicima Knjige raspravljajte na najljepši način, ali ne i sa onima među njima koji su nepravedni – i recite: "Mi vjerujemo u ono što se objavljuje nama i u ono što je objavljeno vama, a naš Bog i vaš Bog jeste – jedan, i mi se Njemu pokoravamo." |
| Urdu: | اور اہل کتاب سے نہ جھگڑو مگر ایسے طریقے سے جو عمدہ ہو مگر جو ان میں بے انصاف ہیں اور کہہ دو ہم اس پر ایمان لائے جو ہماری طرف نازل کیا گیا اور تمہاری طرف نازل کیا گیا اور ہمارا اور تمہارا معبود ایک ہی ہے اور ہم اسی کے فرمانبردار ہونے والے ہیں |

| 47. | وَكَذَٰلِكَ أَنزَلْنَا إِلَيْكَ الْكِتَابَ ۚ فَالَّذِينَ آتَيْنَاهُمُ الْكِتَابَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِ ۖ وَمِنْ هَـٰؤُلَاءِ مَن يُؤْمِنُ بِهِ ۚ وَمَا يَجْحَدُ بِآيَاتِنَا إِلَّا الْكَافِرُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Wakathalika anzalna ilayka alkitaba faallatheena ataynahumu alkitaba yuminoona bihi wamin haolai man yuminu bihi wama yajhadu biayatina illa alkafiroona |
| Yusuf Ali: | And thus (it is) that We have sent down the Book to thee. So the People of the Book believe therein, as also do some of these (pagan Arabs): and none but Unbelievers reject our signs. |
| Shakir: | And thus have We revealed the Book to you. So those whom We have given the Book believe in it, and of these there are those who believe in it, and none deny Our communications except the unbelievers. |
| Pickthall: | In like manner We have revealed unto thee the Scripture, and those unto whom We gave the Scripture aforetime will believe therein; and of these (also) there are some who believe therein. And none deny Our revelations save the disbelievers. |
| Mohsin Khan: | And thus We have sent down the Book (i.e. this Qur'an) to you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم), and those whom We gave the Scripture [the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel) aforetime] believe therein as also do some of these (who are present with you now like 'Abdullah bin Salam) and none but the disbelievers reject Our Ayat [(proofs, signs, verses, lessons, etc.,) and deny Our Oneness of Lordship and Our Oneness of worship and Our Oneness of Our Names and Qualities: i.e. Islamic Monotheism]. |
| French: | C'est ainsi que Nous t'avons fait descendre le Livre (le Coran). Ceux à qui Nous avons donné le Livre y croient. Et parmi ceux-ci, il en est qui y croient. Seuls les mécréants renient Nos versets. |
| Spanish: | Y, así, te hemos revelado la Escritura. Aquéllos a quienes revelamos la Escritura creen en ella. Entre éstos hay algunos que creen en ella. Nadie rechaza Nuestros signos sino los infieles. |
| Indonesian: | Dan demikian (pulalah) Kami turunkan kepadamu Al Kitab (Al Qur'an), maka orang-orang yang telah Kami berikan kepada mereka Al Kitab (Taurat) mereka beriman kepadanya (Al Qur'an); dan di antara mereka ; (orang-orang kafir Mekah) ada yang beriman kepadanya. Dan tidak adalah yang mengingkari ayat-ayat Kami selain orang-orang kafir.

| Malay:: | Dan (sebagaimana Kami telah menurunkan Kitab-kitab agama kepada Rasul-rasul yang telah lalu) demikianlah Kami turunkan pula kepadamu (wahai Muhammad) Kitab Al-Quran ini. Maka orang-orang yang Kami berikan Kitab (Taurat dan Injil) ada yang beriman kepada Al-Quran dan juga sebahagian dari orang-orang (Mekah) beriman kepadanya dan tiadalah yang mengingkari ayat-ayat keterangan Kami melainkan orang-orang yang berdegil dalam kekufurannya.

| German: | Und so haben Wir das Buch zu dir hinabgesandt. Diejenigen, denen Wir die Schrift gaben, glauben daran. Und auch unter diesen da gibt es manche, die daran glauben. Nur die Ungläubigen verleugnen Unsere Zeichen. |
| Russian: | Так Мы ниспослали тебе Писание. Те, кому Мы даровали Писание, веруют в него. И среди этих (современников Пророка Мухаммада из числа людей Писания) есть такие, которые веруют в него (Коран), и только неверующие отвергают Наши знамения. |
| Bosnian: | Kao i njima, Mi tebi objavljujemo Knjigu, a neki od onih kojima smo već dali Knjigu – i u ovu vjeruju, a i od ovih neki u nju vjeruju, a dokaze Naše samo nevjernici osporavaju. |
| Urdu: | اور اسی طرح ہم نے تیری طرف کتاب نازل کی ہے پھر جنہیں ہم نے کتاب دی تھی وہ تو اس پر ایمان لائے ہیں اور ان میں سے بھی کچھ لوگ اس پر ایمان لائے ہیں اور ہماری آیتوں کا کافر ہی انکار کیا کرتے ہیں |

| 48. | وَمَا كُنتَ تَتْلُو مِن قَبْلِهِ مِن كِتَابٍ وَلَا تَخُطُّهُ بِيَمِينِكَ ۖ إِذًا لَّارْتَابَ الْمُبْطِلُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Wama kunta tatloo min qablihi min kitabin wala takhuttuhu biyameenika ithan lairtaba almubtiloona |
| Yusuf Ali: | And thou wast not (able) to recite a Book before this (Book came), nor art thou (able) to transcribe it with thy right hand: In that case, indeed, would the talkers of vanities have doubted. |
| Shakir: | And you did not recite before it any book, nor did you transcribe one with your right hand, for then could those who say untrue things have doubted. |
| Pickthall: | And thou (O Muhammad) wast not a reader of any scripture before it, nor didst thou write it with thy right hand, for then might those have doubted, who follow falsehood. |
| Mohsin Khan: | Neither did you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) read any book before it (this Qur'an), nor did you write any book (whatsoever) with your right hand. In that case, indeed, the followers of falsehood might have doubted. |
| French: | Et avant cela, tu ne récitais aucun livre et tu n'en écrivais aucun de ta main droite. Sinon, ceux qui nient la vérité auraient eu des doutes. |
| Spanish: | Tú no leías, antes de recibirla, ninguna Escritura, ni copiabas ninguna con tu diestra. Los falsarios, si no, habrían sospechado... |
| Indonesian: | Dan kamu tidak pernah membaca sebelumnya (Al Qur'an) sesuatu Kitabpun dan kamu tidak (pernah) menulis suatu kitab dengan tangan kananmu; andai kata (kamu pernah membaca dan menulis), benar-benar ragulah orang yang mengingkari (mu).

| Malay:: | Dan engkau (wahai Muhammad) tidak pernah tahu membaca sesebuah kitab pun sebelum turunnya Al-Quran ini dan tidak pula tahu menulisnya dengan tangan kananmu; (kalaulah engkau dahulu pandai membaca dan menulis) tentulah ada alasan bagi orang-orang kafir yang menentangmu akan merasa ragu-ragu (tentang kebenaranmu).

| German: | Und du hast vordem kein Buch verlesen und es auch nicht mit deiner rechten Hand niedergeschrieben. Sonst würden wahrlich diejenigen zweifeln, die (es) für falsch erklären. |
| Russian: | Ты не читал прежде ни одного Писания и не переписывал его своей десницей. В противном случае приверженцы лжи впали бы в сомнение. |
| Bosnian: | Ti prije nje nijednu knjigu nisi čitao, a nisi je ni desnom rukom svojom pisao; inače, posumnjali bi oni što laži govore. |
| Urdu: | اور اس سے پہلے نہ تو کوئی کتاب پڑھتا تھا اور نہ اسے اپنے دائیں ہاتھ سے لکھتا تھا اس وقت االبتہ باطل پرست شک کرتے |

| 49. | بَلْ هُوَ آيَاتٌ بَيِّنَاتٌ فِي صُدُورِ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْعِلْمَ ۚ وَمَا يَجْحَدُ بِآيَاتِنَا إِلَّا الظَّالِمُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Bal huwa ayatun bayyinatun fee sudoori allatheena ootoo alAAilma wama yajhadu biayatina illa alththalimoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | Nay, here are Signs self-evident in the hearts of those endowed with knowledge: and none but the unjust reject Our Signs. |
| Shakir: | Nay! these are clear communications in the breasts of those who are granted knowledge; and none deny Our communications except the unjust. |
| Pickthall: | But it is clear revelations in the hearts of those who have been given knowledge, and none deny Our revelations save wrong-doers. |
| Mohsin Khan: | Nay, but they, the clear Ayat [i.e. the description and the qualities of Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم written in the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] are preserved in the breasts of those who have been given knowledge (among the people of the Scriptures). And none but the Zalimun (polytheists and wrongdoers) deny Our Ayat (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.). |
| French: | Il consiste plutôt en des versets évidents, (préservés) dans les poitrines de ceux à qui le savoir a été donné. Et seuls les injustes renient Nos versets. |
| Spanish: | Antes bien, es un conjunto de aleyas claras en los pechos de quienes han recibido la Ciencia. No niegan Nuestros signos sino los impíos. |
| Indonesian: | Sebenarnya, Al Qur'an itu adalah ayat-ayat yang nyata di dalam dada orang-orang yang diberi ilmu . Dan tidak ada yang mengingkari ayat-ayat Kami kecuali orang-orang yang zalim.

| Malay:: | (Al-Quran tetap datangnya dari Allah dengan tidak syak lagi) bahkan ia ayat-ayat keterangan yang jelas nyata, yang terpelihara di dalam dada orang-orang yang berilmu dan tiadalah yang mengingkari ayat-ayat keterangan Kami melainkan orang-orang yang zalim.

| German: | Nein! Vielmehr sind es klare Zeichen in den Brüsten derjenigen, denen das Wissen gegeben worden ist. Und nur die Ungerechten verleugnen Unsere Zeichen. |

| 50. | وَقَالُوا لَوْلَا أُنزِلَ عَلَيْهِ آيَاتٌ مِّن رَّبِّهِ ۖ قُلْ إِنَّمَا الْآيَاتُ عِندَ اللَّهِ وَإِنَّمَا أَنَا نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ |
| Transliteration: | Waqaloo lawla onzila AAalayhi ayatun min rabbihi qul innama alayatu AAinda Allahi wainnama ana natheerun mubeenun |
| Yusuf Ali: | Ye they say: "Why are not Signs sent down to him from his Lord?" Say: "The signs are indeed with Allah: and I am indeed a clear Warner." |
| Shakir: | And they say: Why are not signs sent down upon him from his Lord? Say: The signs are only with Allah, and I am only a plain warner. |
| Pickthall: | And they say: Why are not portents sent down upon him from his Lord? Say: Portents are with Allah only, and I am but a plain warner. |
| Mohsin Khan: | And they say: "Why are not signs sent down to him from his Lord? Say: "The signs are only with Allah, and I am only a plain warner." |
| French: | Et ils dirent: «Pourquoi n'a-t-on pas fait descendre sur lui des prodiges de la part de son Seigneur?» Dis: «Les prodiges sont auprès d'Allah. Moi, je ne suis qu'un avertisseur bien clair». |
| Spanish: | Dicen: «¿Por qué no se le han revelado signos procedentes de su Señor?» Di: «Sólo Alá dispone de los signos. Yo soy solamente un monitor que habla claro». |
| Indonesian: | Dan orang-orang kafir Mekah berkata: "Mengapa tidak diturunkan kepadanya mu'jizat-mu'jizat dari Tuhannya?" Katakanlah: "Sesungguhnya mu'jizat-mu'jizat itu terserah kepada Allah. Dan sesungguhnya aku hanya seorang pemberi peringatan yang nyata".

| Malay:: | Dan mereka berkata: Mengapa tidak diturunkan kepada (Muhammad) mukjizat-mukjizat dari Tuhannya? Jawablah (wahai Muhammad): Sesungguhnya (urusan menurunkan) mukjizat-mukjizat itu adalah tertentu bagi Allah dan aku hanyalah seorang Rasul pemberi amaran yang jelas nyata.

| German: | Und sie sagen: "Wenn doch Zeichen von seinem Herrn auf ihn herabgesandt würden!" Sag: Über die Zeichen verfügt (allein) Allah . Und ich bin nur ein deutlicher Warner. |
| Russian: | Они говорят: «Почему ему не ниспосланы знамения от его Господа?». Скажи: «Воистину, знамения - у Аллаха, а я - всего лишь предостерегающий и разъясняющий увещеватель». |
| Bosnian: | i govore: "Zašto mu od Gospodara njegova nisu neka čuda poslana?" Reci: "Čuda su jedino u Allaha, a ja samo jasno opominjem." |
| Urdu: | اور کہتے ہیں اس پر اس کے رب کی طرف سے نشانیاں کیوں نہ اتریں کہہ دو نشانیاں تو الله ہی کے اختیار میں ہیں اور میں تو بس کھول کر سنا دینے والا ہوں |

| 51. | أَوَلَمْ يَكْفِهِمْ أَنَّا أَنزَلْنَا عَلَيْكَ الْكِتَابَ يُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ ۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَرَحْمَةً وَذِكْرَىٰ لِقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Awalam yakfihim anna anzalna AAalayka alkitaba yutla AAalayhim inna fee thalika larahmatan wathikra liqawmin yuminoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | And is it not enough for them that we have sent down to thee the Book which is rehearsed to them? Verily, in it is Mercy and a Reminder to those who believe. |
| Shakir: | Is it not enough for them that We have revealed to you the Book which is recited to them? Most surely there is mercy in this and a reminder for a people who believe. |
| Pickthall: | Is it not enough for them that We have sent down unto thee the Scripture which is read unto them? Lo! herein verily is mercy, and a reminder for folk who believe. |
| Mohsin Khan: | Is it not sufficient for them that We have sent down to you the Book (the Qur'an) which is recited to them? Verily, herein is mercy and a reminder (or an admonition) for a people who believe . |
| French: | Ne leur suffit-il donc point que Nous ayons fait descendre sur toi le Livre et qu'il leur soit récité? Il y a assurément là une miséricorde et un rappel pour des gens qui croient. |
| Spanish: | ¿Es que no les basta que te hayamos revelado la Escritura que se les recita? Hay en ello una misericordia y una amonestación para gente que cree. |
| Indonesian: | Dan apakah tidak cukup bagi mereka bahwasanya Kami telah menurunkan kepadamu Al Kitab (Al Qur'an) sedang dia dibacakan kepada mereka? Sesungguhnya dalam (Al Qur'an) itu terdapat rahmat yang besar dan pelajaran bagi orang-orang yang beriman.

| Malay:: | (Patutkah mereka meminta mukjizat-mukjizat yang lain?) tidakkah cukup bagi mereka bahawa Kami telah menurunkan kepadamu Al-Quran yang dibacakan kepada mereka? Sesungguhnya Al-Quran yang diturunkan itu mengandungi rahmat dan peringatan bagi orang-orang yang beriman.

| German: | Genügt es ihnen denn nicht, daß Wir das Buch auf dich hinabgesandt haben, das ihnen verlesen wird? Darin ist wahrlich eine Barmherzigkeit und eine Ermahnung für Leute, die glauben. |
| Russian: | Неужели им не достаточно того, что Мы ниспослали тебе Писание, которое им читается? Воистину, в этом - милость и напоминание для верующих людей. |
| Bosnian: | A zar im nije dosta to što Mi tebi objavljujemo Knjigu koja im se kazuje; u njoj je, doista, blagodat i pouka narodu koji vjeruje. |
| Urdu: | کیا ان کے لیے یہ کافی نہیں کہ ہم نے تجھ پر کتاب نازل کی جو ان پر پڑھی جاتی ہے بے شک اس میں رحمت ہے اور ایمان والوں کے لیے نصیحت ہے |

| 52. | قُلْ كَفَىٰ بِاللَّهِ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَكُمْ شَهِيدًا ۖ يَعْلَمُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۗ وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا بِالْبَاطِلِ وَكَفَرُوا بِاللَّهِ أُولَـٰئِكَ هُمُ الْخَاسِرُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Qul kafa biAllahi baynee wabaynakum shaheedan yaAAlamu ma fee alssamawati waalardi waallatheena amanoo bialbatili wakafaroo biAllahi olaika humu alkhasiroona |
| Yusuf Ali: | Say: "Enough is Allah for a witness between me and you: He knows what is in the heavens and on earth. And it is those who believe in vanities and reject Allah, that will perish (in the end). |
| Shakir: | Say: Allah is sufficient as a witness between me and you; He knows what is in the heavens and the earth. And (as for) those who believe in the falsehood and disbelieve in Allah, these it is that are the losers. |
| Pickthall: | Say (unto them, O Muhammad): Allah sufficeth for witness between me and you. He knoweth whatsoever is in the heavens and the earth. And those who believe in vanity and disbelieve in Allah, they it is who are the losers. |
| Mohsin Khan: | Say (to them O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم): "Sufficient is Allah for a witness between me and you. He knows what is in the heavens and on earth." And those who believe in Batil (all false deities other than Allah), and disbelieve in Allah and (in His Oneness), it is they who are the losers. |
| French: | Dis: «Allah suffit comme témoin entre moi et vous». Il sait ce qui est dans les cieux et la terre. Et quant à ceux qui croient au faux et ne croient pas en Allah, ceux-là seront les perdants. |
| Spanish: | Di: «¡Alá basta como testigo entre yo y vosotros! Conoce lo que está en los cielos y en la tierra. Quienes crean en lo falso y no crean en Alá, ésos serán los que pierdan». |
| Indonesian: | Katakanlah: "Cukuplah Allah menjadi saksi antaraku dan antaramu. Dia mengetahui apa yang di langit dan di bumi. Dan orang-orang yang percaya kepada yang bathil dan ingkar kepada Allah, mereka itulah orang-orang yang merugi.

| Malay:: | Katakanlah (wahai Muhammad): Cukuplah Allah menjadi saksi (yang mengetahui perkara yang berbangkit) antaraku dengan kamu; Dia mengetahui segala yang ada di langit dan di bumi dan mereka yang percaya kepada perkara yang salah dan tidak percaya kepada Allah, mereka itulah orang-orang yang rugi.

| Russian: | Скажи: «Довольно того, что Аллах является Свидетелем между мною и вами. Он знает то, что на небесах и на земле. Те же, которые уверовали в ложь и не уверовали в Аллаха, непременно окажутся в убытке». |
| Bosnian: | Reci: "Allah je dovoljan svjedok meni i vama, On zna sve što je na nebesima i na Zemlji. A oni koji u kumire vjeruju, a u Allaha ne vjeruju, oni su izgubljeni. |
| Urdu: | کہہ دو الله میرے اور تمہارے درمیان گواہ کافی ہے جو کچھ آسمانوں اور زمین میں ہے جانتا ہے اور جو لوگ جھوٹ پر ایمان لائے اورالله کا انکار کیا وہی نقصان پانے والے ہیں |

| 53. | وَيَسْتَعْجِلُونَكَ بِالْعَذَابِ ۚ وَلَوْلَا أَجَلٌ مُّسَمًّى لَّجَاءَهُمُ الْعَذَابُ وَلَيَأْتِيَنَّهُم بَغْتَةً وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ |
| Transliteration: | WayastaAAjiloonaka bialAAathabi walawla ajalun musamman lajaahumu alAAathabu walayatiyannahum baghtatan wahum la yashAAuroona |
| Yusuf Ali: | They ask thee to hasten on the Punishment (for them): had it not been for a term (of respite) appointed, the Punishment would certainly have come to them: and it will certainly reach them,- of a sudden, while they perceive not! |
| Shakir: | And they ask you to hasten on the chastisement; and had not a term been appointed, the chastisement would certainly have come to them; and most certainly it will come to them all of a sudden while they will not perceive. |
| Pickthall: | They bid thee hasten on the doom (of Allah). And if a term had not been appointed, the doom would assuredly have come unto them (ere now). And verily it will come upon them suddenly when they perceive not. |
| Mohsin Khan: | And they ask you to hasten on the torment (for them): and had it not been for a term appointed, the torment would certainly have come to them. And surely, it will come upon them suddenly while they perceive not! |
| French: | Et ils te demandent de hâter [la venue] du châtiment. S'il n'y avait pas eu un terme fixé, le châtiment leur serait certes venu. Et assurément, il leur viendra soudain, sans qu'ils en aient conscience. |
| Spanish: | Y te piden que adelantes el castigo. Si no fuera porque ha sido prefijado, les habría ya alcanzado. Les vendrá, en verdad, de repente, sin presentirlo. |
| Indonesian: | Dan mereka meminta kepadamu supaya segera diturunkan azab. Kalau tidaklah karena waktu yang telah ditetapkan , benar-benar telah datang azab kepada mereka, dan azab itu benar-benar akan datang kepada mereka dengan tiba-tiba, sedang mereka tidak menyadarinya.

| Malay:: | Dan mereka meminta kepadamu menyegerakan kedatangan azab (yang dijanjikan); dan kalau tidaklah kerana adanya tempoh yang telah ditetapkan, tentulah azab itu akan datang menimpa mereka dan azab itu tetap akan datang menimpa mereka secara mengejut, sedang mereka tidak menyedarinya.

| German: | Und sie wünschen von dir, die Strafe zu beschleunigen. Wenn es nicht eine festgesetzte Frist gäbe, wäre die Strafe wahrlich zu ihnen gekommen. Aber ganz gewiß wird sie plötzlich über sie kommen, ohne daß sie merken. |
| Russian: | Они торопят тебя с мучениями. Если бы не назначенный срок, то мучения уже явились бы к ним. Воистину, они явятся к ним внезапно, и они даже не почувствуют этого. |
| Bosnian: | Oni traže od tebe da ih što prije stigne kazna. A da nije određenog roka za to, kazna bi im došla, a doći će im, sigurno, iznenada, oni neće predosjetiti. |
| Urdu: | اور تجھ سے عذاب جلدی مانگتے ہیں اور اگر ایک وعدہ مقرر نہ ہوتا تو ا ن پر عذاب آ جاتا اور البتہ ان پر اچانک آئے گا اور انہیں خبر بھی نہ ہوگی |

| 54. | يَسْتَعْجِلُونَكَ بِالْعَذَابِ وَإِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ لَمُحِيطَةٌ بِالْكَافِرِينَ |
| Transliteration: | YastaAAjiloonaka bialAAathabi wainna jahannama lamuheetatun bialkafireena |
| Yusuf Ali: | They ask thee to hasten on the Punishment: but, of a surety, Hell will encompass the Rejecters of Faith!- |
| Shakir: | They ask you to hasten on the chastisement, and most surely hell encompasses the unbelievers; |
| Pickthall: | They bid thee hasten on the doom, when lo! hell verily will encompass the disbelievers |
| Mohsin Khan: | They ask you to hasten on the torment. And verily, Hell, of a surety, will encompass the disbelievers. |
| French: | Ils te demandent de hâter [la venue] du châtiment, tandis que l'Enfer cerne les mécréants de toutes parts. |

| German: | Sie wünschen von dir, die Strafe zu beschleunigen, doch wahrlich, die Hölle umfaßt die Ungläubigen, |
| Russian: | Они торопят тебя с мучениями. Воистину, Геенна непременно обступит неверующих. |
| Bosnian: | Oni traže od tebe da ih što prije stigne kazna, a Džehennem će sigurno sve nevjernike obuhvatiti |
| Urdu: | تجھ سے عذاب جلدی مانگتے ہیں اور بے شک دوزخ کافروں کو گھیرلینے والی ہے |

| 55. | يَوْمَ يَغْشَاهُمُ الْعَذَابُ مِن فَوْقِهِمْ وَمِن تَحْتِ أَرْجُلِهِمْ وَيَقُولُ ذُوقُوا مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Yawma yaghshahumu alAAathabu min fawqihim wamin tahti arjulihim wayaqoolu thooqoo ma kuntum taAAmaloona |
| Yusuf Ali: | On the Day that the Punishment shall cover them from above them and from below them, and (a Voice) shall say: "Taste ye (the fruits) of your deeds!" |
| Shakir: | On the day when the chastisement shall cover them from above them, and from beneath their feet; and He shall say: Taste what you did. |
| Pickthall: | On the day when the doom will overwhelm them from above them and from underneath their feet, and He will say: Taste what ye used to do! |
| Mohsin Khan: | On the Day when the torment (Hell-fire) shall cover them from above them and from underneath their feet, and it will be said: "Taste what you used to do." |
| French: | Le jour où le châtiment les enveloppera d'en haut et sous leurs pieds. Il [leur] dira: «Goûtez à ce que vous faisiez!» |

| German: | am Tag, da die Strafe sie von oben und von unterhalb ihrer Füße her überdeckt, und Er sagt': "Kostet, was ihr zu tun pflegtet." |
| Russian: | В тот день мучения покроют их сверху и из-под ног. Он скажет: «Вкусите то, что вы совершали!». |
| Bosnian: | na Dan kad ih patnja i odozgo i odozdo obuzme, a melek rekne: "Ispaštajte za ono što ste radili!" |
| Urdu: | جس دن عذاب انہیں ان کے اوپر سے اور پاؤں کے نیچے سے گھیر لے گا اور کہے گا جو تم کیا کرتے تھے اس کا مزہ چکھو |

| 56. | يَا عِبَادِيَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِنَّ أَرْضِي وَاسِعَةٌ فَإِيَّايَ فَاعْبُدُونِ |
| Transliteration: | Ya AAibadiya allatheena amanoo inna ardee wasiAAatun faiyyaya faoAAbudooni |
| Yusuf Ali: | O My servants who believe! truly, spacious is My Earth: therefore serve ye Me - (and Me alone)! |
| Shakir: | O My servants who believe! surely My earth is vast, therefore Me alone should you serve. |
| Pickthall: | O my bondmen who believe! Lo! My earth is spacious. Therefor serve Me only. |
| Mohsin Khan: | O My slaves who believe! Certainly, spacious is My earth. Therefore worship Me." (Alone) . |
| French: | O Mes serviteurs qui avaient cru! Ma terre est bien vaste. Adorez-Moi donc! |
| Spanish: | ¡Siervos creyentes! ¡Mi tierra es vasta! ¡Servidme, pues, a Mí solo! |
| Indonesian: | Hai hamba-hamba-Ku yang beriman, sesungguhnya bumi-Ku luas, maka sembahlah Aku saja.

| Malay:: | Wahai hamba-hambaKu yang beriman! Sesungguhnya bumiKu adalah luas (untuk kamu bebas beribadat); oleh itu, (di mana sahaja kamu dapat berbuat demikian) maka hendaklah kamu ikhlaskan ibadat kamu kepadaKu.

| German: | O Meine Diener, die ihr glaubt, gewiß, Meine Erde ist weit. So dient Mir, ja, allein Mir. |
| Russian: | О Мои верующие рабы! Воистину, Моя земля обширна, поклоняйтесь же Мне! |
| Bosnian: | O robovi Moji koji vjerujete, Moja je Zemlja prostrana, zato se samo Meni klanjajte! |
| Urdu: | اے میرے بندو جو ایمان لائے ہو میری زمین کشادہ ہے پس میری ہی عبادت کرو |

| 57. | كُلُّ نَفْسٍ ذَائِقَةُ الْمَوْتِ ۖ ثُمَّ إِلَيْنَا تُرْجَعُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Kullu nafsin thaiqatu almawti thumma ilayna turjaAAoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | Every soul shall have a taste of death in the end to Us shall ye be brought back. |
| Shakir: | Every soul must taste of death, then to Us you shall be brought back. |
| Pickthall: | Every soul will taste of death. Then unto Us ye will be returned. |
| Mohsin Khan: | Everyone shall taste death. Then unto Us you shall be returned. |
| French: | Toute âme goûtera la mort. Ensuite c'est vers Nous que vous serez ramenés. |
| Spanish: | Cada uno gustará la muerte. Luego, seréis devueltos a Nosotros. |
| Indonesian: | Tiap-tiap yang berjiwa akan merasakan mati. Kemudian hanyalah kepada Kami kamu dikembalikan.

| Malay:: | Tiap-tiap diri (sudah tetap) akan merasai mati, kemudian kamu akan dikembalikan kepada Kami (untuk menerima balasan).

| German: | Jede Seele wird den Tod kosten. Hierauf werdet ihr zu Uns zurückgebracht. |
| Russian: | Каждая душа вкусит смерть, а потом вы будете возвращены к Нам. |
| Bosnian: | Svako živo biće će smrt okusiti, i Nama ćete se poslije vratiti. |
| Urdu: | ہر جاندار موت کا مزہ چکھنے والا ہے پھر ہمارے ہی پاس پھر کر آؤ گے |

| 58. | وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَنُبَوِّئَنَّهُم مِّنَ الْجَنَّةِ غُرَفًا تَجْرِي مِن تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا ۚ نِعْمَ أَجْرُ الْعَامِلِينَ |
| Transliteration: | Waallatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati lanubawwiannahum mina aljannati ghurafan tajree min tahtiha alanharu khalideena feeha niAAma ajru alAAamileena |
| Yusuf Ali: | But those who believe and work deeds of righteousness - to them shall We give a Home in Heaven,- lofty mansions beneath which flow rivers,- to dwell therein for aye;- an excellent reward for those who do (good)!- |
| Shakir: | And (as for) those who believe and do good, We will certainly give them abode in the high places in gardens beneath which rivers flow, abiding therein; how good the reward of the workers: |
| Pickthall: | Those who believe and do good works, them verily We shall house in lofty dwellings of the Garden underneath which rivers flow. There they will dwell secure. How sweet the guerdon of the toilers, |
| Mohsin Khan: | And those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah - Islamic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds, to them We shall surely give lofty dwellings in Paradise, underneath which rivers flow, to live therein forever. Excellent is the reward for the workers. |
| French: | Et quant à ceux qui croient et accomplissent de bonnes œuvres, Nous les installerons certes à l'étage dans le Paradis sous lequel coulent les ruisseaux, pour y demeurer éternellement. Quelle belle récompense que celle de ceux qui font le bien, |
| Spanish: | A quienes hayan creído y hecho el bien hemos de alojarles en el Jardín, eternamente, en cámaras altas, a cuyos pies fluyen arroyos. ¡Qué grata es la recompensa de los que obran bien, |
| Indonesian: | Dan orang-orang yang beriman dan mengerjakan amal-amal yang saleh, sesungguhnya akan Kami tempatkan mereka pada tempat-tempat yang tinggi di dalam surga, yang mengalir sungai-sungai di bawahnya, mereka kekal di dalamnya. Itulah sebaik-baik pembalasan bagi orang-orang yang beramal,

| Malay:: | Dan orang-orang yang beriman serta beramal soleh, Kami akan tempatkan mereka dalam mahligai-mahligai di Syurga yang mengalir di bawahnya beberapa sungai, mereka kekal di dalamnya. Demikianlah balasan yang sebaik-baiknya bagi orang-orang yang beramal soleh;

| Russian: | Тех, которые уверовали и совершали праведные деяния, Мы непременно поселим в горницах в Раю, в котором текут реки. Они пребудут там вечно. Как же прекрасно вознаграждение тружеников, |
| Bosnian: | One koji budu vjerovali i dobra djela činili smjestićemo u džennetske odaje, ispred kojih će rijeke teći, u njima će vječno boraviti. Kako će divna biti nagrada onima koji su se trudili, |
| Urdu: | اور جو ایمان لائے اور نیک کام کیے البتہ ہم انہیں جنت کے بالا خانوں میں جگہ دیں گے جن کے نیچے نہریں بہتی ہوں گی وہاں ہمیشہ رہیں گے عمل کرنے والوں کا کیا اچھا بدلہ ہے |

| 59. | الَّذِينَ صَبَرُوا وَعَلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ يَتَوَكَّلُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Allatheena sabaroo waAAala rabbihim yatawakkaloona |
| Yusuf Ali: | Those who persevere in patience, and put their trust, in their Lord and Cherisher. |
| Shakir: | Those who are patient, and on their Lord do they rely. |
| Pickthall: | Who persevere, and put their trust in their Lord! |
| Mohsin Khan: | Those who are patient, and put their trust (only) in their Lord (Allah). |
| French: | qui endurent, et placent leur confiance en leur Seigneur! |
| Spanish: | que tienen paciencia y confían en su Señor! |

| 60. | وَكَأَيِّن مِّن دَابَّةٍ لَّا تَحْمِلُ رِزْقَهَا اللَّهُ يَرْزُقُهَا وَإِيَّاكُمْ ۚ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ |
| Transliteration: | Wakaayyin min dabbatin la tahmilu rizqaha Allahu yarzuquha waiyyakum wahuwa alssameeAAu alAAaleemu |
| Yusuf Ali: | How many are the creatures that carry not their own sustenance? It is Allah who feeds (both) them and you: for He hears and knows (all things). |
| Shakir: | And how many a living creature that does not carry its sustenance: Allah sustains it and yourselves; and He is the Hearing, the Knowing. |
| Pickthall: | And how many an animal there is that beareth not its own provision! Allah provideth for it and for you. He is the Hearer, the Knower. |
| Mohsin Khan: | And so many a moving (living) creature carries not its own provision! Allah provides for it and for you. And He is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower. |
| French: | Que de bêtes ne se chargent point de leur propre nourriture! C'est Allah qui les nourrit ainsi que vous. Et c'est Lui l'Audient, l'Omniscient. |

| Indonesian: | Dan berapa banyak binatang yang tidak (dapat) membawa (mengurus) rezkinya sendiri. Allah-lah yang memberi rezki kepadanya dan kepadamu dan Dia Maha Mendengar lagi Maha Mengetahui.

| Malay:: | Dan (ingatlah) berapa banyak binatang yang tidak membawa rezekinya bersama, Allah jualah yang memberi rezeki kepadanya dan kepada kamu dan Dialah jua Yang Maha Mendengar, lagi Maha Mengetahui.

| German: | Und wie viele Tiere tragen ihre (eigene) Versorgung nicht herbei! Allah versorgt sie und euch. Und Er ist der Allhörende und Allwissende. |
| Russian: | Сколько есть живых существ, которые не уносят своего пропитания (или не запасаются своим пропитанием)! Аллах наделяет пропитанием их и вас. Он - Слышащий, Знающий. |

| 61. | وَلَئِن سَأَلْتَهُم مَّنْ خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ وَسَخَّرَ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ لَيَقُولُنَّ اللَّهُ ۖ فَأَنَّىٰ يُؤْفَكُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Walain saaltahum man khalaqa alssamawati waalarda wasakhkhara alshshamsa waalqamara layaqoolunna Allahu faanna yufakoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | If indeed thou ask them who has created the heavens and the earth and subjected the sun and the moon (to his Law), they will certainly reply, "Allah". How are they then deluded away (from the truth)? |
| Shakir: | And if you ask them, Who created the heavens and the earth and made the sun and the moon subservient, they will certainly say, Allah. Whence are they then turned away? |
| Pickthall: | And if thou wert to ask them: Who created the heavens and the earth, and constrained the sun and the moon (to their appointed work)? they would say: Allah. How then are they turned away? |
| Mohsin Khan: | And if you were to ask them: "Who has created the heavens and the earth and subjected the sun and the moon?" they will surely reply: "Allah." How then are they deviating (as polytheists and disbelievers)? |
| French: | Si tu leur demandes: «Qui a créé les cieux et la terre, et assujetti le soleil et la lune?», ils diront très certainement: «Allah». Comment se fait-il qu'ensuite ils se détournent (du chemin droit)? |
| Spanish: | Si les preguntas: «¿Quién ha creado los cielos y la tierra y sujetado el sol y la luna?», seguro que dicen: «¡Alá!» ¡Cómo pueden, pues, ser tan desviados! |
| Indonesian: | Dan sesungguhnya jika kamu tanyakan kepada mereka: "Siapakah yang menjadikan langit dan bumi dan menundukkan matahari dan bulan?" Tentu mereka akan menjawab: "Allah", maka betapakah mereka (dapat) dipalingkan (dari jalan yang benar).

Sudah tentu mereka akan menjawab: Allah. Maka bagaimana mereka tergamak dipalingkan (oleh hawa nafsunya daripada mengakui keesaan Allah dan mematuhi perintahNya)?

| 62. | اللَّهُ يَبْسُطُ الرِّزْقَ لِمَن يَشَاءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ وَيَقْدِرُ لَهُ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيمٌ |
| Transliteration: | Allahu yabsutu alrrizqa liman yashao min AAibadihi wayaqdiru lahu inna Allaha bikulli shayin AAaleemun |
| Yusuf Ali: | Allah enlarges the sustenance (which He gives) to whichever of His servants He pleases; and He (similarly) grants by (strict) measure, (as He pleases): for Allah has full knowledge of all things. |
| Shakir: | Allah makes abundant the means of subsistence for whom He pleases of His servants, and straitens them for whom (He pleases) surely Allah is Cognizant of all things. |
| Pickthall: | Allah maketh the provision wide for whom He will of His bondmen, and straiteneth it for whom (He will). Lo! Allah is Aware of all things. |
| Mohsin Khan: | Allah enlarges the provision for whom He wills of His slaves, and straitens it for whom (He wills). Verily, Allah is the All-Knower of everything. |

| 63. | وَلَئِن سَأَلْتَهُم مَّن نَّزَّلَ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ مَاءً فَأَحْيَا بِهِ الْأَرْضَ مِن بَعْدِ مَوْتِهَا لَيَقُولُنَّ اللَّهُ ۚ قُلِ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ۚ بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْقِلُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Walain saaltahum man nazzala mina alssamai maan faahya bihi alarda min baAAdi mawtiha layaqoolunna Allahu quli alhamdu lillahi bal aktharuhum la yaAAqiloona |
| Yusuf Ali: | And if indeed thou ask them who it is that sends down rain from the sky, and gives life therewith to the earth after its death, they will certainly reply, "Allah!" Say, "Praise be to Allah!" But most of them understand not. |
| Shakir: | And if you ask them Who is it that sends down water from the clouds, then gives life to the earth with it after its death, they will certainly say, Allah. Say: All praise is due to Allah. Nay, most of them do not understand. |
| Pickthall: | And if thou wert to ask them: Who causeth water to come down from the sky, and therewith reviveth the earth after its death? they verily would say: Allah. Say: Praise be to Allah! But most of them have no sense. |
| Mohsin Khan: | And if you were to ask them: "Who sends down water (rain) from the sky, and gives life therewith to the earth after its death?" they will surely reply: "Allah." Say: "All the praises and thanks be to Allah!" Nay, most of them have no sense. |
| French: | Si tu leur demandes: «Qui a fait descendre du ciel une eau avec laquelle Il fit revivre la terre après sa mort?», ils diront très certainement: «Allah». Dis: «Louange à Allah!» Mais la plupart d'entre eux ne raisonnent pas. |
| Spanish: | Si les preguntas: «¿Quién hace bajar agua del cielo, vivificando con ella la tierra después de muerta?», seguro que dicen: «¡Alá!» Di: «¡Alabado sea Alá!» No, la mayoría no comprenden. |
| Indonesian: | Dan sesungguhnya jika kamu menanyakan kepada mereka: "Siapakah yang menurunkan air dari langit lalu menghidupkan dengan air itu bumi sesudah matinya?" Tentu mereka akan menjawab: "Allah". Katakanlah: "Segala puji bagi Allah", tetapi kebanyakan mereka tidak memahami (nya).

| Malay:: | Dan sesungguhnya jika engkau (wahai Muhammad) bertanya kepada mereka (yang musyrik) itu: Siapakah yang menurunkan hujan dari langit, lalu Dia hidupkan dengannya tumbuh-tumbuhan di bumi sesudah matinya? Sudah tentu mereka akan menjawab: Allah. Ucapkanlah (wahai Muhammad): Alhamdulillah (sebagai bersyukur disebabkan pengakuan mereka yang demikian), bahkan kebanyakan mereka tidak memahami (hakikat tauhid dan pengertian syirik).

| 64. | وَمَا هَـٰذِهِ الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا إِلَّا لَهْوٌ وَلَعِبٌ ۚ وَإِنَّ الدَّارَ الْآخِرَةَ لَهِيَ الْحَيَوَانُ ۚ لَوْ كَانُوا يَعْلَمُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Wama hathihi alhayatu alddunya illa lahwun walaAAibun wainna alddara alakhirata lahiya alhayawanu law kanoo yaAAlamoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | What is the life of this world but amusement and play? but verily the Home in the Hereafter,- that is life indeed, if they but knew. |
| Shakir: | And this life of the world is nothing but a sport and a play; and as for the next abode, that most surely is the life-- did they but know! |
| Pickthall: | This life of the world is but a pastime and a game. Lo! the home of the Hereafter - that is Life, if they but knew. |
| Mohsin Khan: | And this life of the world is only an amusement and a play! Verily, the home of the Hereafter - that is the life indeed (i.e. the eternal life that will never end), if they but knew . |

| 65. | فَإِذَا رَكِبُوا فِي الْفُلْكِ دَعَوُا اللَّهَ مُخْلِصِينَ لَهُ الدِّينَ فَلَمَّا نَجَّاهُمْ إِلَى الْبَرِّ إِذَا هُمْ يُشْرِكُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Faitha rakiboo fee alfulki daAAawoo Allaha mukhliseena lahu alddeena falamma najjahum ila albarri itha hum yushrikoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | Now, if they embark on a boat, they call on Allah, making their devotion sincerely (and exclusively) to Him; but when He has delivered them safely to (dry) land, behold, they give a share (of their worship to others)!- |
| Shakir: | So when they ride in the ships they call upon Allah, being sincerely obedient to Him, but when He brings them safe to the land, lo! they associate others (with Him); |
| Pickthall: | And when they mount upon the ships they pray to Allah, making their faith pure for Him only, but when He bringeth them safe to land, behold! they ascribe partners (unto Him), |
| Mohsin Khan: | And when they embark on a ship, they invoke Allah, making their Faith pure for Him only: but when He brings them safely to land, behold, they give a share of their worship to others . |

| Malay:: | Dalam pada itu, apabila mereka naik bahtera (lalu menemui sesuatu bahaya di laut), mereka memohon pertolongan kepada Allah dengan doa yang tulus ikhlas kepadaNya. Kemudian setelah Allah menyelamatkan mereka (naik) ke darat, mereka berlaku syirik kepadaNya.

| Urdu: | پھر جب کشتی میں سوار ہوتے ہیں تو خالص اعتقاد سے الله ہی کو پکارتے ہیں پھر جب انہیں نجات دے کر خشکی کی طرف لے آتا ہے فوراً ہی شرک کرنے لگتے ہیں |

| 66. | لِيَكْفُرُوا بِمَا آتَيْنَاهُمْ وَلِيَتَمَتَّعُوا ۖ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Liyakfuroo bima ataynahum waliyatamattaAAoo fasawfa yaAAlamoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | Disdaining ungratefully Our gifts, and giving themselves up to (worldly) enjoyment! But soon will they know. |
| Shakir: | Thus they become ungrateful for what We have given them, so that they may enjoy; but they shall soon know. |
| Pickthall: | That they may disbelieve in that which We have given them, and that they may take their ease. But they will come to know. |
| Mohsin Khan: | So that they become ingrate for that which We have given them, and that they take their enjoyment (as a warning and a threat), but they will come to know. |
| French: | Qu'ils nient ce que nous leur avons donné et jouissent des biens de ce monde! Ils sauront bientôt! |
| Spanish: | para terminar negando lo que les hemos dado. ¡Que gocen por breve tiempo! ¡Van a ver...! |
| Indonesian: | agar mereka mengingkari ni'mat yang telah Kami berikan kepada mereka dan agar mereka (hidup) bersenang-senang (dalam kekafiran). Kelak mereka akan mengetahui (akibat perbuatannya).

| Malay:: | (Akibat syirik itu) menjadilah mereka orang-orang yang kufurkan nikmat yang Kami telah berikan kepadanya dan (menjadi) orang-orang yang hanya dapat bersuka ria di dunia; kemudian mereka akan mengetahui kelak akibat buruk apa yang mereka lakukan.

| German: | um undankbar zu sein für das, was Wir ihnen gegeben haben, und um zu genießen; sie werden (es noch) erfahren. |
| Russian: | Это происходит для того, чтобы они проявили неблагодарность за то, чем Мы их одарили, и могли попользоваться благами, но скоро они узнают. |
| Bosnian: | da bi pokazali nezahvalnost prema onome što im Mi dajemo, i da bi uživali. A znaće oni! |
| Urdu: | تاکہ ناشکری کریں اس نعمت کی جو ہم نے انہیں دی تھی اور مزے اڑاتے رہیں عنقریب انہیں معلوم ہو جائے گا |

| 67. | أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا أَنَّا جَعَلْنَا حَرَمًا آمِنًا وَيُتَخَطَّفُ النَّاسُ مِنْ حَوْلِهِمْ ۚ أَفَبِالْبَاطِلِ يُؤْمِنُونَ وَبِنِعْمَةِ اللَّهِ يَكْفُرُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Awalam yaraw anna jaAAalna haraman aminan wayutakhattafu alnnasu min hawlihim afabialbatili yuminoona wabiniAAmati Allahi yakfuroona |
| Yusuf Ali: | Do they not then see that We have made a sanctuary secure, and that men are being snatched away from all around them? Then, do they believe in that which is vain, and reject the Grace of Allah? |
| Shakir: | Do they not see that We have made a sacred territory secure, while men are carried off by force from around them? Will they still believe in the falsehood and disbelieve in the favour of Allah? |
| Pickthall: | Have they not seen that We have appointed a sanctuary immune (from violence), while mankind are ravaged all around them? Do they then believe in falsehood and disbelieve in the bounty of Allah? |
| Mohsin Khan: | Have they not seen that We have made (Makkah) a secure sanctuary, while men are being snatched away from all around them? Then do they believe in Batil (falsehood - polytheism, idols and all deities other than Allah), and deny (become ingrate for) the Graces of Allah? |
| French: | Ne voient-ils pas que vraiment Nous avons fait un sanctuaire sûr [la Mecque], alors que tout autour d'eux on enlève les gens? Croiront-ils donc au faux et nieront-ils les bienfaits d'Allah? |
| Spanish: | ¿No ven que hemos hecho un territorio sagrado y seguro, mientras, alrededor de ellos, secuestran a la gente? ¿Creen, pues, en lo falso y no creerán en la gracia de Alá? |
| Indonesian: | Dan apakah mereka tidak memperhatikan, bahwa sesungguhnya Kami telah menjadikan (negeri mereka) tanah suci yang aman, sedang manusia sekitarnya rampok-merampok. Maka mengapa (sesudah nyata kebenaran) mereka masih percaya kepada yang bathil dan ingkar kepada ni'mat Allah?

| Malay:: | Dan tidakkah mereka melihat dan memerhatikan bahawa Kami telah menjadikan (Mekah, negeri mereka) tanah suci yang dihormati, lagi aman; sedang orang-orang ramai yang tinggal (dalam daerah-daerah) di sekeliling mereka sentiasa diculik (untuk ditawan atau dibunuh) ? Oleh itu, patutkah mereka percaya kepada perkara yang salah dan kufur ingkar akan nikmat-nikmat Allah?

| German: | Sehen sie denn nicht, daß Wir einen sicheren geschützten Bezirk gemacht haben, während die Menschen in ihrer Umgebung fortgerissen werden? Wollen sie denn an das Falsche glauben und Allahs Gunst verleugnen? |
| Russian: | Неужели они не видят, что Мы сделали Мекку безопасным святилищем, тогда как вокруг них людей хватают? Неужели они веруют в ложь и не веруют в милость Аллаха? |
| Bosnian: | Zar ne vide da smo Harem svetim i sigurnim učinili, dok se svuda okolo njih otima i pljačka? I zar u laž vjeruju, a na Allahovim blagodatima su nezahvalni? |
| Urdu: | کیا وہ نہیں دیکھتے کہ ہم نے حرم کو امن کی جگہ بنا دیا ہے اور لوگ ان کے آس پاس سے اچک لیے جاتے ہیں کیا یہ لوگ جھوٹ پر ایمان رکھتے ہیں اور الله کی نعمت کی ناشکری کرتے ہیں |

| 68. | وَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنِ افْتَرَىٰ عَلَى اللَّهِ كَذِبًا أَوْ كَذَّبَ بِالْحَقِّ لَمَّا جَاءَهُ ۚ أَلَيْسَ فِي جَهَنَّمَ مَثْوًى لِّلْكَافِرِينَ |
| Transliteration: | Waman athlamu mimmani iftara AAala Allahi kathiban aw kaththaba bialhaqqi lamma jaahu alaysa fee jahannama mathwan lilkafireena |
| Yusuf Ali: | And who does more wrong than he who invents a lie against Allah or rejects the Truth when it reaches him? Is there not a home in Hell for those who reject Faith? |
| Shakir: | And who is more unjust than one who forges a lie against Allah, or gives the lie to the truth when it has come to him? Will not in hell be the abode of the unbelievers? |
| Pickthall: | Who doeth greater wrong than he who inventeth a lie concerning Allah, or denieth the truth when it cometh unto him? Is not there a home in hell for disbelievers? |
| Mohsin Khan: | And who does more wrong than he who invents a lie against Allah or denies the truth (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم and his doctrine of Islamic Monotheism and this Qur'an), when it comes to him? Is there not a dwelling in Hell for disbelievers (in the Oneness of Allah and in His Messenger Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم)? |

| Indonesian: | Dan siapakah yang lebih zalim daripada orang-orang yang mengada-adakan kedustaan terhadap Allah atau mendustakan yang hak tatkala yang hak itu datang kepadanya? Bukankah dalam neraka Jahannam itu ada tempat bagi orang-orang yang kafir?

| Malay:: | Dan tidaklah ada yang lebih zalim daripada orang yang mereka-reka perkara-perkara yang dusta terhadap Allah atau mendustakan kebenaran setelah kebenaran itu disampaikan kepadanya. Bukankah (telah diketahui bahawa) dalam Neraka Jahannam disediakan tempat tinggal bagi orang-orang yang kafir?

| German: | Und wer ist ungerechter als jemand, der gegen Allah eine Lüge ersinnt oder die Wahrheit, nachdem sie zu ihm gekommen ist, für Lüge erklärt? Ist nicht in der Hölle ein Aufenthaltsort für die Ungläubigen? |
| Russian: | Кто может быть несправедливее того, кто возводит навет на Аллаха или считает ложью истину, которая явилась к нему? Разве не в Геенне будет обитель неверующих? |
| Bosnian: | I ima li onda nepravednijeg od onoga koji o Allahu izmišlja laži ili poriče Istinu koja mu dolazi? I zar nevjernicima nije mjesto u Džehennemu? |
| Urdu: | اور اس سے بڑھ کر کون ظالم ہے جو الله پر جھوٹ باندھے یا حق کو جھٹلائے جب اس کے پاس آئے کیا دوزخ میں کافروں کا ٹھکانہ نہیں ہے |

| 69. | وَالَّذِينَ جَاهَدُوا فِينَا لَنَهْدِيَنَّهُمْ سُبُلَنَا ۚ وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَمَعَ الْمُحْسِنِينَ |
| Transliteration: | Waallatheena jahadoo feena lanahdiyannahum subulana wainna Allaha lamaAAa almuhsineena |
| Yusuf Ali: | And those who strive in Our (cause),- We will certainly guide them to our Paths: For verily Allah is with those who do right. |
| Shakir: | And (as for) those who strive hard for Us, We will most certainly guide them in Our ways; and Allah is most surely with the doers of good. |
| Pickthall: | As for those who strive in Us, We surely guide them to Our paths, and lo! Allah is with the good. |
| Mohsin Khan: | As for those who strive hard in Us (Our Cause), We will surely guide them to Our Paths (i.e. Allah's religion - Islamic Monotheism). And verily, Allah is with the Muhsinun (good doers)." |
| French: | Et quant à ceux qui luttent pour Notre cause, Nous les guiderons certes sur Nos sentiers. Allah est en vérité avec les bienfaisants. |
| Spanish: | A quienes hayan combatido por Nosotros ¡hemos de guiarles por Nuestros caminos! ¡Alá está, en verdad, con quienes hacen el bien! |
| Indonesian: | Dan orang-orang yang berjihad untuk (mencari keridhaan) Kami, benar-benar akan Kami tunjukkan Kepada mereka jalan-jalan Kami. Dan sesungguhnya Allah benar-benar beserta orang-orang yang berbuat baik.

| Malay:: | Dan orang-orang yang berusaha dengan bersungguh-sungguh kerana memenuhi kehendak agama Kami, sesungguhnya Kami akan memimpin mereka ke jalan-jalan Kami (yang menjadikan mereka bergembira serta beroleh keredaan) dan sesungguhnya (pertolongan dan bantuan) Allah adalah berserta orang-orang yang berusaha membaiki amalannya.

| German: | Diejenigen aber, die sich um Unsertwillen abmühen, werden Wir ganz gewiß Unsere Wege leiten. Und Allah ist wahrlich mit den Gutes Tuenden. |
| Russian: | А тех, которые сражаются ради Нас, Мы непременно поведем Нашими путями. Воистину, Аллах - с творящими добро! |
| Bosnian: | One koji se budu zbog Nas borili Mi ćemo, sigurno, putevima koji Nama vode uputiti; a Allah je, zaista, na strani onih koji dobra djela čine! |
| Urdu: | اور جنہوں نے ہمارے لیے کوشش کی ہم انہیں ضرور اپنی راہیں سمجھا دیں گے اور بے شک الله نیکو کاروں کے ساتھ ہے |
