95
Yusuf Ali 95: Not equal are those believers who sit (at home) and receive no hurt, and those who strive and fight in the cause of Allah with their goods and their persons. Allah hath granted a grade higher to those who strive and fight with their goods and persons than to those who sit (at home). Unto all (in Faith) Hath Allah promised good: But those who strive and fight Hath He distinguished above those who sit (at home) by a special reward,-
Shakir 95: The holders back from among the believers, not having any injury, and those who strive hard in Allah's way with their property and their persons are not equal; Allah has made the strivers with their property and their persons to excel the holders back a (high) degree, and to each (class) Allah has promised good; and Allah shall grant to the strivers above the holders back a mighty reward:
Pickthal 95: Those of the believers who sit still, other than those who have a (disabling) hurt, are not on an equality with those who strive in the way of Allah with their wealth and lives. Allah hath conferred on those who strive with their wealth and lives a rank above the sedentary. Unto each Allah hath promised good, but He hath bestowed on those who strive a great reward above the sedentary;

96
Yusuf Ali 96: Ranks specially bestowed by Him, and Forgiveness and Mercy. For Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful.
Shakir 96: (High) degrees from Him and protection and mercy, and Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.
Pickthal 96: Degrees of rank from Him, and forgiveness and mercy. Allah is ever Forgiving, Merciful.

97
Yusuf Ali 97: When angels take the souls of those who die in sin against their souls, they say: "In what (plight) Were ye?" They reply: "Weak and oppressed Were we in the earth." They say: "Was not the earth of Allah spacious enough for you to move yourselves away (From evil)?" Such men will find their abode in Hell,- What an evil refuge! -
Shakir 97: Surely (as for) those whom the angels cause to die while they are unjust to their souls, they shall say: In what state were you? They shall say: We were weak in the earth. They shall say: Was not Allah's earth spacious, so that you should have migrated therein? So these it is whose abode is hell, and it is an evil resort
Pickthal 97: Lo! as for those whom the angels take (in death) while they wrong themselves, (the angels) will ask: In what were ye engaged? They will say: We were oppressed in the land. (The angels) will say: Was not Allah's earth spacious that ye could have migrated therein? As for such, their habitation will be hell, an evil journey's end;

98
Yusuf Ali 98: Except those who are (really) weak and oppressed - men, women, and children - who have no means in their power, nor (a guide-post) to their way.
Shakir 98: Except the weak from among the men and the children who have not in their power the means nor can they find a way (to escape);
Pickthal 98: Except the feeble among men, and the women, and the children, who are unable to devise a plan and are not shown a way.

99
Yusuf Ali 99: For these, there is hope that Allah will forgive: For Allah doth blot out (sins) and forgive again and again.
Shakir 99: So these, it may be, Allah will pardon them, and Allah is Pardoning, Forgiving.
Pickthal 99: As for such, it may be that Allah will pardon them. Allah is ever Clement, Forgiving.
