123. | كَذَّبَتْ عَادٌ الْمُرْسَلِينَ |
Transliteration: | Kaththabat AAadun almursaleena |
Yusuf Ali: | The 'Ad (people) rejected the messengers. |
Shakir: | Ad gave the lie to the apostles. |
Pickthall: | (The tribe of) A'ad denied the messengers (of Allah). |
Mohsin Khan: | 'Ad (people) belied the Messengers. |
Saheeh: | 'Aad denied the messengers |
Urdu: | قوم عاد نے پیغمبروں کو جھٹلایا |

124. | إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ هُودٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ |
Transliteration: | Ith qala lahum akhoohum hoodun ala tattaqoona |
Yusuf Ali: | Behold, their brother Hud said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)? |
Shakir: | When their brother Hud said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)? |
Pickthall: | When their brother Hud said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil)? |
Mohsin Khan: | When their brother Hud said to them: "Will you not fear Allah and obey Him? |
Saheeh: | When their brother Hud said to them, "Will you not fear Allah? |
Urdu: | جب ان سے ان کے بھائی ہود نے کہا کہ تم کیوں نہیں ڈرتے |

125. | إِنِّي لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ |
Transliteration: | Innee lakum rasoolun ameenun |
Yusuf Ali: | "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust: |
Shakir: | Surely I am a faithful apostle to you; |
Pickthall: | Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you, |
Mohsin Khan: | "Verily I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. |
Saheeh: | Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. |
Urdu: | البتہ میں تمہارے لیے امانت دار رسول ہوں |

126. | فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ |
Transliteration: | Faittaqoo Allaha waateeAAooni |
Yusuf Ali: | "So fear Allah and obey me. |
Shakir: | Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me: |
Pickthall: | So keep your duty to Allah and obey me. |
Mohsin Khan: | "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. |
Saheeh: | So fear Allah and obey me. |
Urdu: | پس الله سے ڈرو اور میرا کہا مانو |

127. | وَمَا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِيَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ |
Transliteration: | Wama asalukum AAalayhi min ajrin in ajriya illa AAala rabbi alAAalameena |
Yusuf Ali: | "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the Lord of the Worlds. |
Shakir: | And I do not ask you any reward for it; surely my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds |
Pickthall: | And I ask of you no wage therefor; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds. |
Mohsin Khan: | "No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islamic Monotheism); my reward is only from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinn, and all that exists). |
Saheeh: | And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds. |
Urdu: | اور میں تم سے ا سپر کوئی مزدوری نہیں مانگتا میری مزدوری تو بس رب العالمین کے ذمہ ہے |

128. | أَتَبْنُونَ بِكُلِّ رِيعٍ آيَةً تَعْبَثُونَ |
Transliteration: | Atabnoona bikulli reeAAin ayatan taAAbathoona |
Yusuf Ali: | "Do ye build a landmark on every high place to amuse yourselves? |
Shakir: | Do you build on every height a monument? Vain is it that you do: |
Pickthall: | Build ye on every high place a monument for vain delight? |
Mohsin Khan: | "Do you build high palaces on every high place, while you do not live in them? |
Saheeh: | Do you construct on every elevation a sign, amusing yourselves, |
Urdu: | کیا تم ہر اونچی زمین پر کھیلنے کے لیے ایک نشان بناتے ہو |

129. | وَتَتَّخِذُونَ مَصَانِعَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَخْلُدُونَ |
Transliteration: | Watattakhithoona masaniAAa laAAallakum takhludoona |
Yusuf Ali: | "And do ye get for yourselves fine buildings in the hope of living therein (for ever)? |
Shakir: | And you make strong fortresses that perhaps you may |
Pickthall: | And seek ye out strongholds, that haply ye may last for ever? |
Mohsin Khan: | "And do you get for yourselves palaces (fine buildings) as if you will live therein for ever. |
Saheeh: | And take for yourselves palaces and fortresses that you might abide eternally? |
Urdu: | اوربڑے بڑے محل بناتے ہو شاید کہ تم ہمیشہ رہو گے |

130. | وَإِذَا بَطَشْتُم بَطَشْتُمْ جَبَّارِينَ |
Transliteration: | Waitha batashtum batashtum jabbareena |
Yusuf Ali: | "And when ye exert your strong hand, do ye do it like men of absolute power? |
Shakir: | And when you lay hands (on men) you lay hands (like) tyrants; |
Pickthall: | And if ye seize by force, seize ye as tyrants? |
Mohsin Khan: | "And when you seize (somebody), seize you (him) as tyrants? |
Saheeh: | And when you strike, you strike as tyrants. |
Urdu: | اورجب ہاتھ ڈالتے ہو تو بڑی سختی سےپکڑتے ہو |

131. | فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ |
Transliteration: | Faittaqoo Allaha waateeAAooni |
Yusuf Ali: | "Now fear Allah, and obey me. |
Shakir: | So guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me |
Pickthall: | Rather keep your duty to Allah, and obey me. |
Mohsin Khan: | "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. |
Saheeh: | So fear Allah and obey me. |
Urdu: | پس الله سے ڈرو اور میرا کہا مانو |

132. | وَاتَّقُوا الَّذِي أَمَدَّكُم بِمَا تَعْلَمُونَ |
Transliteration: | Waittaqoo allathee amaddakum bima taAAlamoona |
Yusuf Ali: | "Yea, fear Him Who has bestowed on you freely all that ye know. |
Shakir: | And be careful of (your duty to) Him Who has given you abundance of what you know. |
Pickthall: | Keep your duty toward Him Who hath aided you with (the good things) that ye know, |
Mohsin Khan: | "And keep your duty to Him, fear Him Who has aided you with all (good things) that you know. |
Saheeh: | And fear He who provided you with that which you know, |
Urdu: | اور اس سے ڈرو جس نے تمہاری ان چیزوں سے مدد کی ہے جنہیں تم بھی جانتے ہو |

133. | أَمَدَّكُم بِأَنْعَامٍ وَبَنِينَ |
Transliteration: | Amaddakum bianAAamin wabaneena |
Yusuf Ali: | "Freely has He bestowed on you cattle and sons,- |
Shakir: | He has given you abundance of cattle and children |
Pickthall: | Hath aided you with cattle and sons. |
Mohsin Khan: | "He has aided you with cattle and children. |
Saheeh: | Provided you with grazing livestock and children |
Urdu: | چارپایوں اور اولاد سے |

134. | وَجَنَّاتٍ وَعُيُونٍ |
Transliteration: | Wajannatin waAAuyoonin |
Yusuf Ali: | "And Gardens and Springs. |
Shakir: | And gardens and fountains; |
Pickthall: | And gardens and watersprings. |
Mohsin Khan: | "And gardens and springs. |
Saheeh: | And gardens and springs. |
Urdu: | اور باغوں اور چشموں سے تمہیں مدد دی |

135. | إِنِّي أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ |
Transliteration: | Innee akhafu AAalaykum AAathaba yawmin AAatheemin |
Yusuf Ali: | "Truly I fear for you the Penalty of a Great Day." |
Shakir: | Surely I fear for you the chastisement of a grievous day |
Pickthall: | Lo! I fear for you the retribution of an awful day. |
Mohsin Khan: | "Verily, I fear for you the torment of a Great Day." |
Saheeh: | Indeed, I fear for you the punishment of a terrible day." |
Urdu: | میں تم پر ایک بڑے دن کے عذاب سے ڈرتا ہوں |

136. | قَالُوا سَوَاءٌ عَلَيْنَا أَوَعَظْتَ أَمْ لَمْ تَكُن مِّنَ الْوَاعِظِينَ |
Transliteration: | Qaloo sawaon AAalayna awaAAathta am lam takun mina alwaAAitheena |
Yusuf Ali: | They said: "It is the same to us whether thou admonish us or be not among (our) admonishers! |
Shakir: | They said: It is the same to us whether you admonish or are not one of the admonishers |
Pickthall: | They said: It is all one to us whether thou preachest or art not of those who preach; |
Mohsin Khan: | They said: "It is the same to us whether you preach or be not of those who preach. |
Saheeh: | They said, "It is all the same to us whether you advise or are not of the advisors. |
Urdu: | کہنے لگے تو نصیحت کر یا نہ کر ہمارے لیے سب برابر ہے |

137. | إِنْ هَـٰذَا إِلَّا خُلُقُ الْأَوَّلِينَ |
Transliteration: | In hatha illa khuluqu alawwaleena |
Yusuf Ali: | "This is no other than a customary device of the ancients, |
Shakir: | This is naught but a custom of the ancients; |
Pickthall: | This is but a fable of the men of old, |
Mohsin Khan: | "This is no other than the false tales and religion of the ancients, [Tafsir At-Tabari] |
Saheeh: | This is not but the custom of the former peoples, |
Urdu: | یہ تو بس پہلے لوگوں کی ایک عادت ہے |

138. | وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُعَذَّبِينَ |
Transliteration: | Wama nahnu bimuAAaththabeena |
Yusuf Ali: | "And we are not the ones to receive Pains and Penalties!" |
Shakir: | And we are not going to be punished. |
Pickthall: | And we shall not be doomed. |
Mohsin Khan: | "And we are not going to be punished." |
Saheeh: | And we are not to be punished." |
Urdu: | اور ہمیں عذاب نہیں ہوگا |

139. | فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَهْلَكْنَاهُمْ ۗ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ |
Transliteration: | Fakaththaboohu faahlaknahum inna fee thalika laayatan wama kana aktharuhum mumineena |
Yusuf Ali: | So they rejected him, and We destroyed them. Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. |
Shakir: | So they gave him the lie, then We destroyed them. Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. |
Pickthall: | And they denied him; therefor We destroyed them. Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers. |
Mohsin Khan: | So they belied him, and We destroyed them. Verily in this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. |
Saheeh: | And they denied him, so We destroyed them. Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. |
Urdu: | پھر انہو ں نے پیغمبر کو جھٹلایا تب ہم نے انہیں ہلاک کر دیا البتہ اس میں بڑی نشانی ہے اور ان میں اکثر ایمان لانے والے نہیں |

140. | وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الرَّحِيمُ |
Transliteration: | Wainna rabbaka lahuwa alAAazeezu alrraheemu |
Yusuf Ali: | And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. |
Shakir: | And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. |
Pickthall: | And lo! thy Lord, He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. |
Mohsin Khan: | And verily your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. |
Saheeh: | And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. |
Urdu: | اور بے شک تیرا رب زبردست رحم کرنے والا ہے |
