142. | إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ صَالِحٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ |
Transliteration: | Ith qala lahum akhoohum salihun ala tattaqoona |
Yusuf Ali: | Behold, their brother Salih said to them: "Will you not fear (Allah)? |
Shakir: | When their brother Salih said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)? |
Pickthall: | When their brother Salih said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil)? |
Mohsin Khan: | When their brother Salih said to them: "Will you not fear Allah and obey Him? |
Saheeh: | When their brother Salih said to them, "Will you not fear Allah? |
Urdu: | جب ان سے ان کے بھائی صالح نے کہا کیا تم ڈرتے نہیں |

143. | إِنِّي لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ |
Transliteration: | Innee lakum rasoolun ameenun |
Yusuf Ali: | "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust. |
Shakir: | Surely I am a faithful apostle to you |
Pickthall: | Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you, |
Mohsin Khan: | "I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. |
Saheeh: | Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. |
Urdu: | میں تمہارے لیے امانت دار رسول ہوں |

144. | فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ |
Transliteration: | Faittaqoo Allaha waateeAAooni |
Yusuf Ali: | "So fear Allah, and obey me. |
Shakir: | Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me: |
Pickthall: | So keep your duty to Allah and obey me. |
Mohsin Khan: | "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. |
Saheeh: | So fear Allah and obey me. |
Urdu: | پس الله سے ڈرو اور میرا کہا مانو |

145. | وَمَا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِيَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ |
Transliteration: | Wama asalukum AAalayhi min ajrin in ajriya illa AAala rabbi alAAalameena |
Yusuf Ali: | "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the Lord of the Worlds. |
Shakir: | And I do not ask you any reward for it; my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds: |
Pickthall: | And I ask of you no wage therefor; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds. |
Mohsin Khan: | "No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islamic Monotheism); my reward is only from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinn and all that exists). |
Saheeh: | And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds. |
Urdu: | اور میں تم سے اسپر کوئی مزدوری نہیں مانگتا میری مزدوری تو بس رب العالمین کے ذمہ ہے |

146. | أَتُتْرَكُونَ فِي مَا هَاهُنَا آمِنِينَ |
Transliteration: | Atutrakoona fee ma hahuna amineena |
Yusuf Ali: | "Will ye be left secure, in (the enjoyment of) all that ye have here?- |
Shakir: | Will you be left secure in what is here; |
Pickthall: | Will ye be left secure in that which is here before us, |
Mohsin Khan: | "Will you be left secure in that which you have here? |
Saheeh: | Will you be left in what is here, secure [from death], |
Urdu: | کیا تمہیں ان چیزو ں میں یہاں بے فکری سے رہنے دیا جائے گا |

147. | فِي جَنَّاتٍ وَعُيُونٍ |
Transliteration: | Fee jannatin waAAuyoonin |
Yusuf Ali: | "Gardens and Springs, |
Shakir: | In gardens and fountains, |
Pickthall: | In gardens and watersprings. |
Mohsin Khan: | "In gardens and springs. |
Saheeh: | Within gardens and springs |
Urdu: | یعنی باغوں اور چشموں میں |

148. | وَزُرُوعٍ وَنَخْلٍ طَلْعُهَا هَضِيمٌ |
Transliteration: | WazurooAAin wanakhlin talAAuha hadeemun |
Yusuf Ali: | "And corn-fields and date-palms with spathes near breaking (with the weight of fruit)? |
Shakir: | And cornfields and palm-trees having fine spadices? |
Pickthall: | And tilled fields and heavy-sheathed palm-trees, |
Mohsin Khan: | And green crops (fields) and date-palms with soft spadix. |
Saheeh: | And fields of crops and palm trees with softened fruit? |
Urdu: | اور کھیتوں اور کھجوروں میں جن کا خوشہ ملائم ہے |

149. | وَتَنْحِتُونَ مِنَ الْجِبَالِ بُيُوتًا فَارِهِينَ |
Transliteration: | Watanhitoona mina aljibali buyootan fariheena |
Yusuf Ali: | "And ye carve houses out of (rocky) mountains with great skill. |
Shakir: | And you hew houses out of the mountains exultingly; |
Pickthall: | Though ye hew out dwellings in the mountain, being skilful? |
Mohsin Khan: | "And you hew out in the mountains, houses with great skill. |
Saheeh: | And you carve out of the mountains, homes, with skill. |
Urdu: | او رتم پہاڑوں کوتراش کر تکلف کے گھر بناتے ہو |

150. | فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ |
Transliteration: | Faittaqoo Allaha waateeAAooni |
Yusuf Ali: | "But fear Allah and obey me; |
Shakir: | Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me; |
Pickthall: | Therefor keep your duty to Allah and obey me, |
Mohsin Khan: | "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. |
Saheeh: | So fear Allah and obey me. |
Urdu: | پس الله سے ڈرو اور میرا کہا مانو |

151. | وَلَا تُطِيعُوا أَمْرَ الْمُسْرِفِينَ |
Transliteration: | Wala tuteeAAoo amra almusrifeena |
Yusuf Ali: | "And follow not the bidding of those who are extravagant,- |
Shakir: | And do not obey the bidding of the extravagant, |
Pickthall: | And obey not the command of the prodigal, |
Mohsin Khan: | "And follow not the command of Al-Musrifun [i.e. their chiefs: leaders who were polytheists, criminals and sinners], |
Saheeh: | And do not obey the order of the transgressors, |
Urdu: | اوران حد سے نکلنے والوں کا کہا مت مانو |

152. | الَّذِينَ يُفْسِدُونَ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا يُصْلِحُونَ |
Transliteration: | Allatheena yufsidoona fee alardi wala yuslihoona |
Yusuf Ali: | "Who make mischief in the land, and mend not (their ways)." |
Shakir: | Who make mischief in the land and do not act aright. |
Pickthall: | Who spread corruption in the earth, and reform not. |
Mohsin Khan: | "Who make mischief in the land, and reform not." |
Saheeh: | Who cause corruption in the land and do not amend." |
Urdu: | جو زمین میں فساد کرتے ہیں اور اصلاح نہیں کرتے |

153. | قَالُوا إِنَّمَا أَنتَ مِنَ الْمُسَحَّرِينَ |
Transliteration: | Qaloo innama anta mina almusahhareena |
Yusuf Ali: | They said: "Thou art only one of those bewitched! |
Shakir: | They said: You are only of the deluded ones; |
Pickthall: | They said: Thou art but one of the bewitched; |
Mohsin Khan: | They said: "You are only of those bewitched! |
Saheeh: | They said, "You are only of those affected by magic. |
Urdu: | کہنے لگے تم پر تو کسی نے جادو کیا ہے |

154. | مَا أَنتَ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُنَا فَأْتِ بِآيَةٍ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ الصَّادِقِينَ |
Transliteration: | Ma anta illa basharun mithluna fati biayatin in kunta mina alssadiqeena |
Yusuf Ali: | "Thou art no more than a mortal like us: then bring us a Sign, if thou tellest the truth!" |
Shakir: | You are naught but a mortal like ourselves; so bring a sign if you are one of the truthful. |
Pickthall: | Thou art but a mortal like us. So bring some token if thou art of the truthful. |
Mohsin Khan: | "You are but a human being like us. Then bring us a sign if you are of the truthful." |
Saheeh: | You are but a man like ourselves, so bring a sign, if you should be of the truthful." |
Urdu: | توبھی ہم جیسا ایک آدمی ہے سو کوئی نشانی لے آ اگر تو سچا ہے |

155. | قَالَ هَـٰذِهِ نَاقَةٌ لَّهَا شِرْبٌ وَلَكُمْ شِرْبُ يَوْمٍ مَّعْلُومٍ |
Transliteration: | Qala hathihi naqatun laha shirbun walakum shirbu yawmin maAAloomin |
Yusuf Ali: | He said: "Here is a she-camel: she has a right of watering, and ye have a right of watering, (severally) on a day appointed. |
Shakir: | He said: This is a she-camel; she shall have her portion of water, and you have your portion of water on an appointed time; |
Pickthall: | He said: (Behold) this she-camel. She hath the right to drink (at the well), and ye have the right to drink, (each) on an appointed day. |
Mohsin Khan: | He said: "Here is a she-camel: it has a right to drink (water), and you have a right to drink (water) (each) on a day, known. |
Saheeh: | He said, "This is a she-camel. For her is a [time of] drink, and for you is a [time of] drink, [each] on a known day. |
Urdu: | کہا یہ اونٹنی ہے اسکے پینے کا ایک دن ہے اور یک دن معین تمہارے پینے کے لیے ہے |

156. | وَلَا تَمَسُّوهَا بِسُوءٍ فَيَأْخُذَكُمْ عَذَابُ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ |
Transliteration: | Wala tamassooha bisooin fayakhuthakum AAathabu yawmin AAatheemin |
Yusuf Ali: | "Touch her not with harm, lest the Penalty of a Great Day seize you." |
Shakir: | And do not touch her with evil, lest the punishment of a grievous day should overtake you. |
Pickthall: | And touch her not with ill lest there come on you the retribution of an awful day. |
Mohsin Khan: | "And touch her not with harm, lest the torment of a Great Day should seize you." |
Saheeh: | And do not touch her with harm, lest you be seized by the punishment of a terrible day." |
Urdu: | اور اسے برائی سے ہاتھ نہ لگانا ورنہ تمہیں بڑے دن کا عذاب آ پکڑے گا |

157. | فَعَقَرُوهَا فَأَصْبَحُوا نَادِمِينَ |
Transliteration: | FaAAaqarooha faasbahoo nadimeena |
Yusuf Ali: | But they ham-strung her: then did they become full of regrets. |
Shakir: | But they hamstrung her, then regretted; |
Pickthall: | But they hamstrung her, and then were penitent. |
Mohsin Khan: | But they killed her, and then they became regretful. |
Saheeh: | But they hamstrung her and so became regretful. |
Urdu: | سو انہوں نے اس کے پاؤں کاٹ ڈالے پھر پشیمان ہوئے |

158. | فَأَخَذَهُمُ الْعَذَابُ ۗ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ |
Transliteration: | Faakhathahumu alAAathabu inna fee thalika laayatan wama kana aktharuhum mumineena |
Yusuf Ali: | But the Penalty seized them. Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. |
Shakir: | So the punishment overtook them. Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. |
Pickthall: | So the retribution came on them. Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers. |
Mohsin Khan: | So the torment overtook them. Verily, in this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. |
Saheeh: | And the punishment seized them. Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. |
Urdu: | پھر انہیں عذاب نے آ پکڑا البتہ اس میں بڑی نشانی ہے اور ان میں سے اکثر ایمان لانے والے نہیں |
