83. | ۞ وَإِنَّ مِن شِيعَتِهِ لَإِبْرَاهِيمَ |
Transliteration: | Wainna min sheeAAatihi laibraheema |
Yusuf Ali: | Verily among those who followed his Way was Abraham. |
Shakir: | And most surely Ibrahim followed his way. |
Pickthall: | And lo! of his persuasion verily was Abraham |
Mohsin Khan: | And, verily, among those who followed his [Nuh's (Noah)] way (Islamic Monotheism) was Ibrahim (Abraham). |
Saheeh: | And indeed, among his kind was Abraham, |
Urdu: | اور بے شک اسی کے طریق پر چلنے والوں میں ابراھیم بھی تھا |

84. | إِذْ جَاءَ رَبَّهُ بِقَلْبٍ سَلِيمٍ |
Transliteration: | Ith jaa rabbahu biqalbin saleemin |
Yusuf Ali: | Behold! he approached his Lord with a sound heart. |
Shakir: | When he came to his Lord with a free heart, |
Pickthall: | When he came unto his Lord with a whole heart; |
Mohsin Khan: | When he came to his Lord with a pure heart [attached to Allah Alone and none else, worshipping none but Allah Alone - true Islamic Monotheism, pure from the filth of polytheism]. |
Saheeh: | When he came to his Lord with a sound heart |
Urdu: | جب کہ وہ پاک دل سے اپنے رب کی طرف رجوع ہوا |

85. | إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوْمِهِ مَاذَا تَعْبُدُونَ |
Transliteration: | Ith qala liabeehi waqawmihi matha taAAbudoona |
Yusuf Ali: | Behold! he said to his father and to his people, "What is that which ye worship? |
Shakir: | When he said to his father and his people: What is it that you worship? |
Pickthall: | When he said unto his father and his folk: What is it that ye worship? |
Mohsin Khan: | When he said to his father and to his people: "What is it that which you worship? |
Saheeh: | [And] when he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship? |
Urdu: | جب کہ ا س نے اپنے باپ اور اپنی قوم سے کہا تم کس چیز کی عبادت کرتے ہو |

86. | أَئِفْكًا آلِهَةً دُونَ اللَّهِ تُرِيدُونَ |
Transliteration: | Aifkan alihatan doona Allahi tureedoona |
Yusuf Ali: | "Is it a falsehood- gods other than Allah- that ye desire? |
Shakir: | A lie-- gods besides Allah-- do you desire? |
Pickthall: | Is it a falsehood - gods beside Allah - that ye desire? |
Mohsin Khan: | "Is it a falsehood - alihah (gods) other than Allah - that you desire? |
Saheeh: | Is it falsehood [as] gods other than Allah you desire? |
Urdu: | کیا تم جھوٹے معبودوں کو الله کے سوا چاہتے ہو |

87. | فَمَا ظَنُّكُم بِرَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ |
Transliteration: | Fama thannukum birabbi alAAalameena |
Yusuf Ali: | "Then what is your idea about the Lord of the worlds?" |
Shakir: | What is then your idea about the Lord of the worlds? |
Pickthall: | What then is your opinion of the Lord of the Worlds? |
Mohsin Khan: | "Then what think you about the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinn, and all that exists)?" |
Saheeh: | Then what is your thought about the Lord of the worlds?" |
Urdu: | پھر تمہارا پروردگارِ عالم کی نسبت کیا خیال ہے |

88. | فَنَظَرَ نَظْرَةً فِي النُّجُومِ |
Transliteration: | Fanathara nathratan fee alnnujoomi |
Yusuf Ali: | Then did he cast a glance at the Stars. |
Shakir: | Then he looked at the stars, looking up once, |
Pickthall: | And he glanced a glance at the stars |
Mohsin Khan: | Then he cast a glance at the stars, |
Saheeh: | And he cast a look at the stars |
Urdu: | پھر اس نے ایک بار ستاروں میں غور سے دیکھا |

89. | فَقَالَ إِنِّي سَقِيمٌ |
Transliteration: | Faqala innee saqeemun |
Yusuf Ali: | And he said, "I am indeed sick (at heart)!" |
Shakir: | Then he said: Surely I am sick (of your worshipping these). |
Pickthall: | Then said: Lo! I feel sick! |
Mohsin Khan: | And he said: "Verily, I am sick (with plague). [He did this trick to remain in their temple of idols to destroy them and not to accompany them to the pagan feast)]." |
Saheeh: | And said, "Indeed, I am [about to be] ill." |
Urdu: | پھر کہا بے شک میں بیمار ہوں |

90. | فَتَوَلَّوْا عَنْهُ مُدْبِرِينَ |
Transliteration: | Fatawallaw AAanhu mudbireena |
Yusuf Ali: | So they turned away from him, and departed. |
Shakir: | So they went away from him, turning back. |
Pickthall: | And they turned their backs and went away from him. |
Mohsin Khan: | So they turned away from him, and departed (for fear of the disease). |
Saheeh: | So they turned away from him, departing. |
Urdu: | پس وہ لوگ اس کے ہاں سے پیٹھ پھیر کر واپس پھرے |

91. | فَرَاغَ إِلَىٰ آلِهَتِهِمْ فَقَالَ أَلَا تَأْكُلُونَ |
Transliteration: | Faragha ila alihatihim faqala ala takuloona |
Yusuf Ali: | Then did he turn to their gods and said, "will ye not eat (of the offerings before you)?... |
Shakir: | Then he turned aside to their gods secretly and said: What! do you not eat? |
Pickthall: | Then turned he to their gods and said: Will ye not eat? |
Mohsin Khan: | Then he turned to their alihah (gods) and said: "Will you not eat (of the offering before you)? |
Saheeh: | Then he turned to their gods and said, "Do you not eat? |
Urdu: | پس وہ چپکے سے ان کے معبودوں کے پاس گیا پھر کہا کیاتم کھاتے نہیں |

92. | مَا لَكُمْ لَا تَنطِقُونَ |
Transliteration: | Ma lakum la tantiqoona |
Yusuf Ali: | "What is the matter with you that ye speak not (intelligently)?" |
Shakir: | What is the matter with you that you do not speak? |
Pickthall: | What aileth you that ye speak not? |
Mohsin Khan: | "What is the matter with you that you speak not?" |
Saheeh: | What is [wrong] with you that you do not speak?" |
Urdu: | تمہیں کیا ہوا کہ تم بولتے نہیں |

93. | فَرَاغَ عَلَيْهِمْ ضَرْبًا بِالْيَمِينِ |
Transliteration: | Faragha AAalayhim darban bialyameeni |
Yusuf Ali: | Then did he turn upon them, striking (them) with the right hand. |
Shakir: | Then he turned against them secretly, smiting them with the right hand. |
Pickthall: | Then he attacked them, striking with his right hand. |
Mohsin Khan: | Then he turned upon them, striking (them) with (his) right hand. |
Saheeh: | And he turned upon them a blow with [his] right hand. |
Urdu: | پھر وہ بڑے زور کے ساتھ دائیں ہاتھ سے ان کے توڑنے پر پل پڑا |

94. | فَأَقْبَلُوا إِلَيْهِ يَزِفُّونَ |
Transliteration: | Faaqbaloo ilayhi yaziffoona |
Yusuf Ali: | Then came (the worshippers) with hurried steps, and faced (him). |
Shakir: | So they (people) advanced towards him, hastening. |
Pickthall: | And (his people) came toward him, hastening. |
Mohsin Khan: | Then they (the worshippers of idols) came, towards him, hastening. |
Saheeh: | Then the people came toward him, hastening. |
Urdu: | پھر وہ اس کی طرف دوڑتے ہوئے بڑھے |

95. | قَالَ أَتَعْبُدُونَ مَا تَنْحِتُونَ |
Transliteration: | Qala ataAAbudoona ma tanhitoona |
Yusuf Ali: | He said: "Worship ye that which ye have (yourselves) carved? |
Shakir: | Said he: What! do you worship what you hew out? |
Pickthall: | He said: Worship ye that which ye yourselves do carve |
Mohsin Khan: | He said: "Worship you that which you (yourselves) carve? |
Saheeh: | He said, "Do you worship that which you [yourselves] carve, |
Urdu: | کہا کیا تم پوجتے ہو جنہیں تم خود تراشتے ہو |

96. | وَاللَّهُ خَلَقَكُمْ وَمَا تَعْمَلُونَ |
Transliteration: | WaAllahu khalaqakum wama taAAmaloona |
Yusuf Ali: | "But Allah has created you and your handwork!" |
Shakir: | And Allah has created you and what you make. |
Pickthall: | When Allah hath created you and what ye make? |
Mohsin Khan: | "While Allah has created you and what you make!" |
Saheeh: | While Allah created you and that which you do?" |
Urdu: | حالانکہ الله ہی نے تمہیں پیدا کیا اور جو تم بناتے ہو |

97. | قَالُوا ابْنُوا لَهُ بُنْيَانًا فَأَلْقُوهُ فِي الْجَحِيمِ |
Transliteration: | Qaloo ibnoo lahu bunyanan faalqoohu fee aljaheemi |
Yusuf Ali: | They said, "Build him a furnace, and throw him into the blazing fire!" |
Shakir: | They said: Build for him a furnace, then cast him into the burning fire. |
Pickthall: | They said: Build for him a building and fling him in the red-hotfire. |
Mohsin Khan: | They said: "Build for him a building (it is said that the building was like a furnace) and throw him into the blazing fire!" |
Saheeh: | They said, "Construct for him a furnace and throw him into the burning fire." |
Urdu: | انہوں نے کہا ا س کے لیے ایک مکان بناؤ پھر اس کو آگ میں ڈال دو |

98. | فَأَرَادُوا بِهِ كَيْدًا فَجَعَلْنَاهُمُ الْأَسْفَلِينَ |
Transliteration: | Faaradoo bihi kaydan fajaAAalnahumu alasfaleena |
Yusuf Ali: | (This failing), they then sought a stratagem against him, but We made them the ones most humiliated! |
Shakir: | And they desired a war against him, but We brought them low. |
Pickthall: | And they designed a snare for him, but We made them the undermost. |
Mohsin Khan: | So they plotted a plot against him, but We made them the lowest. |
Saheeh: | And they intended for him a plan, but We made them the most debased. |
Urdu: | پس انہوں نے اس سے داؤ کرنے کا ارادہ کیا سو ہم نے انہیں ذلیل کر دیا |

99. | وَقَالَ إِنِّي ذَاهِبٌ إِلَىٰ رَبِّي سَيَهْدِينِ |
Transliteration: | Waqala innee thahibun ila rabbee sayahdeeni |
Yusuf Ali: | He said: "I will go to my Lord! He will surely guide me! |
Shakir: | And he said: Surely I fly to my lord; He will guide me. |
Pickthall: | And he said: Lo! I am going unto my Lord Who will guide me. |
Mohsin Khan: | And he said (after his rescue from the fire): "Verily, I am going to my Lord. He will guide me!" |
Saheeh: | And [then] he said, "Indeed, I will go to [where I am ordered by] my Lord; He will guide me. |
Urdu: | اور کہا میں نے اپنے رب کی طرف جانے والا ہوں وہ مجھے راہ بتائے گا |

100. | رَبِّ هَبْ لِي مِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ |
Transliteration: | Rabbi hab lee mina alssaliheena |
Yusuf Ali: | "O my Lord! Grant me a righteous (son)!" |
Shakir: | My Lord! grant me of the doers of good deeds. |
Pickthall: | My Lord! Vouchsafe me of the righteous. |
Mohsin Khan: | "My Lord! Grant me (offspring) from the righteous." |
Saheeh: | My Lord, grant me [a child] from among the righteous." |
Urdu: | اے میرے رب! مجھے ایک صالح (لڑکا) عطا کر |

101. | فَبَشَّرْنَاهُ بِغُلَامٍ حَلِيمٍ |
Transliteration: | Fabashsharnahu bighulamin haleemin |
Yusuf Ali: | So We gave him the good news of a boy ready to suffer and forbear. |
Shakir: | So We gave him the good news of a boy, possessing forbearance. |
Pickthall: | So We gave him tidings of a gentle son. |
Mohsin Khan: | So We gave him the glad tidings of a forbearing boy. |
Saheeh: | So We gave him good tidings of a forbearing boy. |
Urdu: | پس ہم نے اسے ایک لڑکے حلم والے کی خوشخبری دی |

102. | فَلَمَّا بَلَغَ مَعَهُ السَّعْيَ قَالَ يَا بُنَيَّ إِنِّي أَرَىٰ فِي الْمَنَامِ أَنِّي أَذْبَحُكَ فَانظُرْ مَاذَا تَرَىٰ ۚ قَالَ يَا أَبَتِ افْعَلْ مَا تُؤْمَرُ ۖ سَتَجِدُنِي إِن شَاءَ اللَّهُ مِنَ الصَّابِرِينَ |
Transliteration: | Falamma balagha maAAahu alssaAAya qala ya bunayya innee ara fee almanami annee athbahuka faonthur matha tara qala ya abati ifAAal ma tumaru satajidunee in shaa Allahu mina alssabireena |
Yusuf Ali: | Then, when (the son) reached (the age of) (serious) work with him, he said: "O my son! I see in vision that I offer thee in sacrifice: Now see what is thy view!" (The son) said: "O my father! Do as thou art commanded: thou will find me, if Allah so wills one practising Patience and Constancy!" |
Shakir: | And when he attained to working with him, he said: O my son! surely I have seen in a dream that I should sacrifice you; consider then what you see. He said: O my father! do what you are commanded; if Allah please, you will find me of the patient ones. |
Pickthall: | And when (his son) was old enough to walk with him, (Abraham) said: O my dear son, I have seen in a dream that I must sacrifice thee. So look, what thinkest thou? He said: O my father! Do that which thou art commanded. Allah willing, thou shalt find me of the steadfast. |
Mohsin Khan: | And, when he (his son) was old enough to walk with him, he said: "O my son! I have seen in a dream that I am slaughtering you (offering you in sacrifice to Allah). So look what you think!" He said: "O my father! Do that which you are commanded, Insha' Allah (if Allah wills), you shall find me of As-Sabirun (the patient)." |
Saheeh: | And when he reached with him [the age of] exertion, he said, "O my son, indeed I have seen in a dream that I [must] sacrifice you, so see what you think." He said, "O my father, do as you are commanded. You will find me, if Allah wills, of the steadfast." |
Urdu: | پھر جب وہ اس کے ہمراہ چلنے پھرنے لگا کہا اے بیٹے! بے شک میں خواب میں دیکھتا ہوں کہ میں تجھے ذبح کر کر رہا ہوں پس دیکھ تیری کیا رائےہے کہا اے ابا! جو حکم آپ کو ہوا ہے کر دیجیئے آپ مجھے انشاالله صبر کرنے والوں میں پائیں گے |

103. | فَلَمَّا أَسْلَمَا وَتَلَّهُ لِلْجَبِينِ |
Transliteration: | Falamma aslama watallahu liljabeeni |
Yusuf Ali: | So when they had both submitted their wills (to Allah), and he had laid him prostrate on his forehead (for sacrifice), |
Shakir: | So when they both submitted and he threw him down upon his forehead, |
Pickthall: | Then, when they had both surrendered (to Allah), and he had flung him down upon his face, |
Mohsin Khan: | Then, when they had both submitted themselves (to the Will of Allah), and he had laid him prostrate on his forehead (or on the side of his forehead for slaughtering); |
Saheeh: | And when they had both submitted and he put him down upon his forehead, |
Urdu: | پس جب دونوں نے قبول کر لیا اور اس نے پیشانی کے بل ڈال دیا |

104. | وَنَادَيْنَاهُ أَن يَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ |
Transliteration: | Wanadaynahu an ya ibraheemu |
Yusuf Ali: | We called out to him "O Abraham! |
Shakir: | And We called out to him saying: O Ibrahim! |
Pickthall: | We called unto him: O Abraham! |
Mohsin Khan: | We called out to him: "O Abraham! |
Saheeh: | We called to him, "O Abraham, |
Urdu: | اور ہم نے اسے پکارا کہ اے ابراھیم! |

105. | قَدْ صَدَّقْتَ الرُّؤْيَا ۚ إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِي الْمُحْسِنِينَ |
Transliteration: | Qad saddaqta alrruya inna kathalika najzee almuhsineena |
Yusuf Ali: | "Thou hast already fulfilled the vision!" - thus indeed do We reward those who do right. |
Shakir: | You have indeed shown the truth of the vision; surely thus do We reward the doers of good: |
Pickthall: | Thou hast already fulfilled the vision. Lo! thus do We reward the good. |
Mohsin Khan: | You have fulfilled the dream!" Verily thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - See 2:112). |
Saheeh: | You have fulfilled the vision." Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. |
Urdu: | تو نے خواب سچا کر دکھایا بے شک ہم اسی طرح ہم اسی طرح نیکو کاروں کو بدلہ دیا کرتے ہیں |

106. | إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَهُوَ الْبَلَاءُ الْمُبِينُ |
Transliteration: | Inna hatha lahuwa albalao almubeenu |
Yusuf Ali: | For this was obviously a trial- |
Shakir: | Most surely this is a manifest trial. |
Pickthall: | Lo! that verily was a clear test. |
Mohsin Khan: | Verily, that indeed was a manifest trial. |
Saheeh: | Indeed, this was the clear trial. |
Urdu: | البتہ یہ صریح آزمائش ہے |

107. | وَفَدَيْنَاهُ بِذِبْحٍ عَظِيمٍ |
Transliteration: | Wafadaynahu bithibhin AAatheemin |
Yusuf Ali: | And We ransomed him with a momentous sacrifice: |
Shakir: | And We ransomed him with a Feat sacrifice. |
Pickthall: | Then We ransomed him with a tremendous victim. |
Mohsin Khan: | And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice (i.e. كبش - a ram); |
Saheeh: | And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice, |
Urdu: | اور ہم نے ایک بڑا ذبیحہ ا سکے عوض دیا |

108. | وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ فِي الْآخِرِينَ |
Transliteration: | Watarakna AAalayhi fee alakhireena |
Yusuf Ali: | And We left (this blessing) for him among generations (to come) in later times: |
Shakir: | And We perpetuated (praise) to him among the later generations. |
Pickthall: | And We left for him among the later folk (the salutation): |
Mohsin Khan: | And We left for him (a goodly remembrance) among the later generations. |
Saheeh: | And We left for him [favorable mention] among later generations: |
Urdu: | اور ہم نے پیچھے آنے والوں میں یہ بات ان کے لیے رہنے دی |

109. | سَلَامٌ عَلَىٰ إِبْرَاهِيمَ |
Transliteration: | Salamun AAala ibraheema |
Yusuf Ali: | "Peace and salutation to Abraham!" |
Shakir: | Peace be on Ibrahim. |
Pickthall: | Peace be unto Abraham! |
Mohsin Khan: | "Salam (peace) be upon Ibrahim (Abraham)!" |
Saheeh: | "Peace upon Abraham." |
Urdu: | ابراھیم پر سلام ہو |
