37. | أَهُمْ خَيْرٌ أَمْ قَوْمُ تُبَّعٍ وَالَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ ۚ أَهْلَكْنَاهُمْ ۖ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا مُجْرِمِينَ |
Transliteration: | Ahum khayrun am qawmu tubbaAAin waallatheena min qablihim ahlaknahum innahum kanoo mujrimeena |
Yusuf Ali: | What! Are they better than the people of Tubba and those who were before them? We destroyed them because they were guilty of sin. |
Shakir: | Are they better or the people of Tubba and those before them? We destroyed them, for surely they were guilty. |
Pickthall: | Are they better, or the folk of Tubb'a and those before them? We destroyed them, for surely they were guilty. |
Mohsin Khan: | Are they better or the people of Tubba' and those before them? We destroyed them because they were indeed Mujrimun (disbelievers, polytheists, sinners, criminals). |
Saheeh: | Are they better or the people of Tubba' and those before them? We destroyed them, [for] indeed, they were criminals. |
Urdu: | کیا وہ بہتر ہیں یا تبع کی قوم اوروہ لوگ جو ان سے پہلے ہوئے ہم نے انہیں ہلاک کر دیا کیوں کہ وہ مجرم تھے |
