| 38. | وَفِي مُوسَىٰ إِذْ أَرْسَلْنَاهُ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ بِسُلْطَانٍ مُّبِينٍ |
| Transliteration: | Wafee moosa ith arsalnahu ila firAAawna bisultanin mubeenin |
| Yusuf Ali: | And in Moses (was another Sign): Behold, We sent him to Pharaoh, with authority manifest. |
| Shakir: | And in Musa: When We sent him to Firon with clear authority. |
| Pickthall: | And in Moses (too, there is a portent) when We sent him unto Pharaoh with clear warrant, |
| Mohsin Khan: | And in Musa (Moses) (too, there is a sign), when We sent him to Fir'aun (Pharaoh) with a manifest authority. |
| Saheeh: | And in Moses [was a sign], when We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority. |
| Urdu: | اور موسیٰ کے قصہ میں بھی عبرت ہے جب کہ ہم نے فرعون کے پا س ایک کھلی دلیل دے کر بھیجا |

| 39. | فَتَوَلَّىٰ بِرُكْنِهِ وَقَالَ سَاحِرٌ أَوْ مَجْنُونٌ |
| Transliteration: | Fatawalla biruknihi waqala sahirun aw majnoonun |
| Yusuf Ali: | But (Pharaoh) turned back with his Chiefs, and said, "A sorcerer, or one possessed!" |
| Shakir: | But he turned away with his forces and said: A magician or a mad man. |
| Pickthall: | But he withdrew (confiding) in his might, and said: A wizard or a madman. |
| Mohsin Khan: | But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] turned away (from Belief in might) along with his hosts, and said: "A sorcerer, or a madman." |
| Saheeh: | But he turned away with his supporters and said," A magician or a madman." |
| Urdu: | سو اس نے مع اپنے ارکانِ سلطنت کے سرتابی کی اور کہا یہ جادوگر یا دیوانہ ہے |

| 40. | فَأَخَذْنَاهُ وَجُنُودَهُ فَنَبَذْنَاهُمْ فِي الْيَمِّ وَهُوَ مُلِيمٌ |
| Transliteration: | Faakhathnahu wajunoodahu fanabathnahum fee alyammi wahuwa muleemun |
| Yusuf Ali: | So We took him and his forces, and threw them into the sea; and his was the blame. |
| Shakir: | So We seized him and his hosts and hurled them into the sea and he was blamable. |
| Pickthall: | So We seized him and his hosts and flung them in the sea, for he was reprobate. |
| Mohsin Khan: | So We took him and his hosts, and dumped them into the sea, for he was blameworthy. |
| Saheeh: | So We took him and his soldiers and cast them into the sea, and he was blameworthy. |
| Urdu: | پھر ہم نے اسے اور اس کے لشکروں کو پکڑ لیا پھر ہم نے انہیں سمند رمیں پھینک دیا اور اس نے کام ہی ملامت کا کیا تھا |

| 41. | وَفِي عَادٍ إِذْ أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمُ الرِّيحَ الْعَقِيمَ |
| Transliteration: | Wafee AAadin ith arsalna AAalayhimu alrreeha alAAaqeema |
| Yusuf Ali: | And in the 'Ad (people) (was another Sign): Behold, We sent against them the devastating Wind: |
| Shakir: | And in Ad: When We sent upon them the destructive wind. |
| Pickthall: | And in (the tribe of) A'ad (there is a portent) when we sent the fatal wind against them. |
| Mohsin Khan: | And in 'Ad (there is also a sign) when We sent against them the barren wind; |
| Saheeh: | And in 'Aad [was a sign], when We sent against them the barren wind. |
| Urdu: | اور قوم عاد میں بھی (عبرت ہے) جب ہم نے ان پر سخت آندھی بھیجی |

| 42. | مَا تَذَرُ مِن شَيْءٍ أَتَتْ عَلَيْهِ إِلَّا جَعَلَتْهُ كَالرَّمِيمِ |
| Transliteration: | Ma tatharu min shayin atat AAalayhi illa jaAAalathu kaalrrameemi |
| Yusuf Ali: | It left nothing whatever that it came up against, but reduced it to ruin and rottenness. |
| Shakir: | It did not leave aught on which it blew, but it made it like ashes. |
| Pickthall: | It spared naught that it reached, but made it (all) as dust. |
| Mohsin Khan: | It spared nothing that it reached, but blew it into broken spreads of rotten ruins. |
| Saheeh: | It left nothing of what it came upon but that it made it like disintegrated ruins. |
| Urdu: | جو کسی چیز کو نہ چھوڑتی جس پر سے وہ گزرتی مگر اسے بوسیدہ ہڈیوں کی طرح کر دیتی |
